PythonAmaka:You can say that only when every other Nigerian stays in his/her own region. Do you know how many Yorubas are in other regions? |
Lifestone:You cannot get tax payers from nowhere. It is a matter of mathematics. Fewer states, low population, low taxation, low IGR. How does that not make sense to you?. Still, Igbos are less affected by poverty in a country with 90% poverty rate. |
superlightning:It's that simple, really. |
Re: South East (SE) had the lowest IGR in 2018 It appears that the IQ of the average Nigerian is very low. Hence, I read of and see scorn for the SE by others for having the lowest IGR in 2018 But a deeper look would have shown that things are not as straightforward as they seem. IGR is a function of taxing paying. And it is human beings that pay tax. Now, here are the simple issues that should be of concern: 1. Does the SE have low IGR historically? In essence, has there been a trend in the past years that warrants this becoming a sustained fact? If yes, is that linked to population change trend in the zone? 2. What is the population of SE? 3. What is the population of other zones with higher IGR than SE? 4. When the IGR of SE is divided by the population of SE, you get an idea of average IGR per person. How does it compare to that of other zones? 5. If SE has the lowest population and correspondingly lowest IGR why should there be any surprise? 6. How many people of SE origin live in other zones and how much do they contribute to the IGR of those zones? 7. Can you live in Jamaica on a permanent basis and still contribute to the IGR of Cameroon? Evidently, the average Nigerian, especially those on Nairaland, has little ability to reason deeply. No intelligent argument or thought process for the most part. Shame!!!! PS: most importantly when the Feds have established the habit of taking every development to other zones and none to the SE, how are you supposed to create the pool of taxing payers in the SE zone? Most Igbos are self-surviving individuals and it is human nature that self-surviving individuals will not readily give their money to the govt as taxes. Again, don't forget, SE has only 5 States; others have 6 and even 7. IGR is directly linked to population. You cannot levy on one person two person's taxes - it's always one man one tax. Therefore, SE will always be lower in IGR, given its lower population. Hey! Don't forget that SE is not the parasite in chief in Nigeria. They receive the lowest monthly allocation from the federal government based on lowest population. In life you cannot eat your cake and have it. You cannot give SE lowest allocation based on population and expect higher IGR based on same population. Does it make any sense to you all with low IQ now? Who is deceiving who here? |
Arda1000:You said you saw two Biafran names. I see only one. So I am asking you the other Biafran name you saw. |
The thousands of buyers currently risking 100 per cent mortgages and borrowing up to five times their salary could be plunged deep into negative equityPlease what does the bolded mean? Does it mean 100% mortgage interest? If so, wow! That is complete rip off by the lenders. |
See his Afonja face |
tolijascro:Not officially found guilty yet. But the charges against him are serious and it appears that there is enough forensic, cell phone, and human witness evidences to nail him. He should be in court by Monday, or sometime later this week. |
Adeitanajoke:Lazy Omoluabi youth |
Dr. Olakunle Churchill Everybody is a doctor in Nigeria. Fake people, fake country ![]() Those with actual MD degrees, or those with the revered PhD don suffer taya for Naija, as their efforts are thrown into the garbage by these fake honorary PhDs

kelvinnaira:My own summary is that this is crappy mysic. Motigbona, Poverty Die, and to a lesser extent, You go Love Lagos are the only songs of Olamide that are worth any hype. Motigbona is actually one of the best songs from Nigeria in recent years. |
Arda1000:Really? What is the other one? |
I saw this piece of document somewhere and could not stop wondering: A Nigerian name in the midst of foreign names of panelists in a very unlikely geographical location. You look right, left and center, and all you see is Igbo, Igbo and more Igbo. O bu gini na eme? Ki lo sele?

lilwetdick:Another mumu. Why not challenge the OP more intelligibly by showing any public elementary school in Nigeria whose principal or headmaster is a PhD holder. |
lilwetdick:5th Grade is elementary school, not secondary school. Did you at all read b4 posting? Indeed, so many fools on NL |

Guestlander:Tinubu a former drug trafficker and addict in Chicago is the chief of all Yorubas |
Guestlander:9 Yorubas working in America |
Guestlander:9 Yoruba |
Calculating:That is something every Igbo person needs to counter at any opportunity. Please post on Nairaland news on criminal activities by Yorubas and positive news on Igbos. It's a psychological war and Igbos gotta understand that. |
