PoliticsWhy President Buhari's Case Is Different by ademate(op): 10:07pm On Feb 11, 2018
WHY PRESIDENT BUHARI’S CASE IS DIFFERENT
First was former President Obasanjo’s letter asking PMB not to contest in 2019 citing many reasons why he has to leave the exalted office. It was quickly followed by another letter from former dictator Ibrahim Babangida asking PMB to step aside In 2019 for a younger president. This was followed by the hate and weeping from the losers of 2015 elections who are yet to come to terms with the situations they found themselves since the feeding bottles were forcefully taken away from their rapacious greedy mouths.
It was quickly followed by the cries from those who for years had been stealing our crude oil, selling it and pocketing the dollars, those who stole billions of Pension Funds and Salaries of workers, those who stole trillions of Naira in the name of subsidy, those who stole the federal Government to bones with thousands of fictitious accounts, the banks who raked billions every month as charges, those who stole billions of dollars meant for the purchase of arms to fight insurgents.
What of those in JAMB office, FIRS, NIMASA, CUSTOMS who stole billions meant for government coffers? They are not left out in the era of pains and tears. What about the experts in Budget padding found in the National Assembly? They are still weeping and gnashing their teeth.
Then followed another gnashing of teeth and weeping from the importers of rice from Thailand that cost the country more than 3 billion dollars every year? What about the tragic stories and tales of woes from those whose ill gotten houses, hard currencies, and cars were confiscated by EFCC? They wished and still wish that PMB must die.
Even those found to have stolen billions from the coffers of the Police, Army, Navy, Air Force had to cough out and vomit the money and they are not left out in the weeping contest. Even those found in the media (both electronic and print) who got billions of stolen money to help sell rotten eggs in 2015 are still crying without consolation for years now. They sobbed and sobbed and are still sobbing today with no end in sight. What about the billions confiscated from the coffers of the former first lady? The woman and her followers have been weeping and cursing the day PMB was born. What about the religious leaders who got billions from GEJ in the days of the locust? Oh, they are weeping without control and wish that PMB will die immediately.
How come all those who are being accused of stealing money are now feigning sickness? What went wrong? I can go on and on but there is no need to continue to do so. You cannot continue to box a man lying prostrate on ground who has no strength to fight back.
Now, their biggest pains is that PMB is doing what they failed to do in 16 years. PMB is building massive infrastructure across Nigeria. PMB has been growing our internal revenue which is now overtaking crude oil revenue, the first in 45 years. PMB has brought about unprecedented revolution in Agriculture in Nigeria and has particularly reduced Rice importation by 60% and employing millions. PMB has added serious values to Power generation (7000+ MW), the highest so far. PMB has given corruption a bloody nose and no Nigerian head of state living or dead has matched his record. PMB has grown the Nigerian Stock Exchange volume of business to 15.75 trillion naira, the highest so far.
In their own very eyes PMB is now the Anti Corruption Champion in Africa. This is the principal reason the idiots want him out. They cannot withstand another four years. They may all die. Cheap money is no longer flowing. Looted money is no longer available.
They talk about National security, the herdsmen and the killings in Benue, Tarawa, Adamawa. I have been seeing cattle rearers since I was young. Because PMB is a fulani, the bigots think he is arming them to kill other Nigerians and islamize them. Yeye people all!
PMB’s case is very different. He had a mission and vision of what he wants to do and he is doing it. The gang up cannot fly and it will not work. A friend once educated me on the meaning of stupid. He says it is knowing the truth, seeing the truth but still believing lies. Being honest may not fetch you many friends but it will fetch you the right ones. PMB friends and committed followers are the ordinary Nigerians who fight for him even with empty stomachs because they believe he is fighting for them. They can feel it , they see it and they know the man is not corrupt.
Iam told that the loudest person in the room is not always the strongest. OBJ and IBB’s letter may not fly this time because PMB’s case is different. PMB is doing what OBJ and IBB did not do. IBB corrupted our democracy and democratized corruption. Former President Obasanjo wasted eight years of South West presidency and even wanted a third term. He could not find the killers of Bola Ige, Harry Marshall, Ogbonnaya Uche, Dikibo, Funsho Williams, Daramola etc.
Those who destroyed our yesterday cannot be the ones that will control tomorrow’s potentials. This is why PMB’s case is different.

Christianity EtcNigeria: Nobody Plans To Islamise Nigeria, Onaiyekan Tells Christians by ademate(op): 5:21pm On Jul 03, 2017
John Cardinal Onaiyekan, the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, has called on Christians, to rise up and Christianise Nigeria instead of complaining that Muslims want to Islamise the nation.

Onaiyekan made the call in his homily at a Mass to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation at Our Lady of Perpertual Help Parish, Gwarinpa II on Sunday in Abuja.

"So let nobody deceive you, I don't think there is anybody who has plan to Islamise Nigeria, but even if they do, they have every right to do so.

"They have every right to do so provided they also know that I have the right to Christianise the whole of Nigeria.

"The answer is not in complaining and crying; stand up like a man and Christianise Nigeria," the Cardinal said.

He said that Christians had the mandate to preach Jesus Christ to everyone without being distracted with material things.

Onaiyekan urged Christians to defend their faith by preaching the gospel in words and deeds without comprising the message of the Cross.

He said that the disciples of Christ preached the crucified Christ, accepted persecution and that many even died for their faith.

"People complain that Christianity is being persecuted; they are saying that some people want to Islamise the nation. Just know that nobody can't Islamise you unless you agree to be Islamised.

"For as long as you are not ready to stand up and carry the Cross, you are on the verge of losing your faith; if you don't want to lose your promotion for Christ sake, you are also not worthy to be a Christian.

"Anybody who presents another programme different from the programme of Jesus Christ on the Cross will lose, you will drop; you will just drop like an overripe apple."

According to him, Christians cannot achieve the feat by compromising their faith, it can only be achieved by carrying their cross and following Christ.

"You don't Christianise the nation by standing up and looking for prosperity or material benefits.

"You Christianise a nation, if you are ready to stand up for the truth, preach the gospel, carry the Cross and follow the Lord Jesus."

Quoting from the Gospel of Mathew Chapter 10 verses 37 to 42, Onaiyekan said that anyone who loved his or her mother, father, children , husband more than Christ is not worthy of His kingdom.

He, however, said that the message of Cross is that of salvation, which was gradually being reduced to the message of prosperity, adding that it was natural to face suffering in the world.

The Cardinal said that Christianity had survived over 2,000 years and the religion became more established even when the apostles faced persecution and were even killed.

"The apostles went through horrible suffering because of that, the Church took root when everybody thought it was the end of the story of Jesus, who died on the Cross.

"That is the mystery of Christianity, if it is not God's own doing, Christianity would not have survived," he said.

According to Catholic teaching, the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace.

For by the sacrament of Confirmation, (the baptised) are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with special strength of the Holy Spirit.

Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the Christian faith by words and deeds.

Also, 30 candidates received first Holy Communion at the Mass.

State governors and members of the National Assembly from the South - East; the leadership of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo ; traditional and religious leaders and other leaders of thought from the zone ended their meeting in Enugu on Sunday with a declaration that Ndigbo were for a “ united Nigeria . ”
A communique issued at the meeting, read by the Chairman of the South -East Governors Forum , Ebonyi State governor , Dave Umahi, stated that the Igbo leaders concluded that the Igbo were in “ full support” of a united Nigeria .
The South - East stakeholders ’ meeting, which held at Nike Lake Resort in Enugu , commenced on Saturday night and ended in the early hours of Sunday.
The regional leaders also called on the Federal Government to start the process of restructuring the country without delay .
Our correspondent learnt that issues surrounding the agitation for Biafra , including the three -month ultimatum to quit, given to Igbo in the northern part of the country by some youth groups , informed the decision to convene the meeting.
The governors of the five South - East states were in attendance as well as all the National Assembly members from the zone , led by the Deputy Senate President , Ike Ekweremadu, and the Chairman of South -East Caucus of the National Assembly , Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.
The leadership of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo , led by the President General , Chief Nnia Nwodo , was also at the meeting .
The Igbo leaders , in the same vein , insisted on the restructuring of the country , and asked the Federal Government to begin the process of actualising the restructuring of the nation within a reasonable time frame.
They also demanded the implementation of the recommendations of the 2014 national conference.
Part of the communique read , “ Ndigbo are in full support of a united Nigeria , where peace , love, fairness, justice , equity and equality of opportunities are paramount , regardless of creed , ethnicity , gender or political affiliation .
“ We condemn all hate speeches and misconduct from any segment of the country .
“ Igbo leaders lend their full support to the restructuring of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the platform of fairness and equity .
“ We therefore call on the Federal Government and all Nigerian leaders to commence a process of dialogue among Nigerians on the modalities of achieving this pressing question within a reasonable time frame.
“ Ndigbo supports the report of the National Conference of 2014 and we urge the Federal Government to set up structures that will enable the implementation of the same within a reasonable time . ”
The Igbo leaders at the meeting, also resolved to “ constitute official organ” that would, henceforth, speak on behalf of the Igbo .
“ The South - East governors , members of the National Assembly, leadership from the South - East and the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo shall henceforth constitute the official organs that shall speak on behalf of the Ndigbo .
“ South - East leaders , in consultation with other parts of the country , will set up a committee to engage the Federal Government on all issues that concern Ndigbo , ” the communique added .
In the same vein , the Igbo leaders stated that they were taking steps to ensure the safety of the lives and property of the Igbo in all parts of Nigeria .
They also guaranteed the safety of lives and property of all Nigerians living in the South -East.
Religious and traditional leaders at the meeting include the Catholic Bishop of Nsukka Diocese, Prof. Godfrey Onah ; the Enugu Archbishop of the Anglican Communion , Dr . Emmanuel Chukwuma ; and Chairman , South - East Traditional Rulers Council /Obi of Onitsha , Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe.
Others at the meeting are a former Senate President , Ken Nnamani; a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria , Prof. Chukwuma Soludo; a former Governor of Ebonyi State , Senator Sam Egwu ; National Chairman , United Progressive Party, Chief Chekwas Okorie ; a former power minister , Prof. Barth Nnaji; a former Chief of General Staff , Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe ( retd . ) , and a former Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs . Josephine Anenih .
MASSOB accuses Igbo leaders of betrayal
MASSOB leader , Comrade Uchenna Madu , who spoke for the secessionist group , described the decisions reached at the Enugu meeting as “ insensitive . ”
He stressed that the outcome of the meeting would not derail the struggle for realisation of Biafra , saying the position of the leaders could only postpone the “ inevitable . ”
Madu stated, “ The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra berates Igbo religious , traditional , political and opinion leaders for their nonchalant and insensitive attitude towards the current agitation for Biafra .
“ Why is it that whenever these self -acclaimed Igbo leaders meet among themselves or with the Nigerian Presidency , they always sideline the primary and principal reasons and cause of the Biafra agitation ?
“ Yesterday ’ s meeting of Igbo leaders in Enugu is tactically helping the Nigerian government in postponing the explosion of the inevitable and unstoppable ticking time bomb which Nigeria is comfortably sitting on .
“ Their decisions are not the true minds and positions of the people of Biafra – we want Biafra and nothing but Biafra .
“ Nigeria must disintegrate; her faulty foundation has broken beyond repair.
“ Majority of Igbo leaders have brazenly betrayed Igbo cause and interests in Nigeria .
“ We wish to inform Ndigbo that the reawakening of the spirit and consciousness of Biafra among the people can never be demoralised again – the Biafra revolutionary struggle can no longer be betrayed by personal or group interests. ”
The MASSOB leader expressed regrets that the Igbo elite , who , according to him , had gained a lot from the pro -Biafra agitation , did not appreciate the activists.
“ In this struggle , numerous sacrifices have been made , supreme prices have been paid.
“We have been tortured , mesmerised, killed and incarcerated for the sake of Biafra and the glory of Ndigbo , yet we are neglected , abused and abandoned by people who benefit from our exploits ,” he said .
