MrAAA2: While it is a good move with TK, if you're statutory insured, your family isn't going to be here (for now if you have), BUT if you are over 30, your funder won't be paying for your health insurance, and you don't have any underlying health challenges, finally not going to working (aside Teaching Assistantship , you might want to pick up a private health insurance.
TK will register you as a VOLUNTARY INSUREEE, their charges might be up to 220 Eur monthly. Please discuss with your fellows, others and funding partners. Thank you so much. The HR clearly stated that I need statutory health insurance for my employment contract. That's why I register with TK out of other health insurance company. I have an employment contract. |

kingjoe: please explain the x app . around what period of the year do they advertise No timeframe for individual doctoral opening. They advertised when they have fund for a particular project. It really depends on your area of interest. You can actually search for example: PhD in Neuroscience fully-funded then you select latest. You are going to see any available openings advertised by the PI. |

I booked an appointment on November 21, 2023. I received an email with the appointment date on November 24, 2023. My appointment date initially was December 18, 2023, but their network saver was down, and I was rescheduled to December 21, 2023. I was told the processing period for my research visa for my PhD will take 2 months. I received the approval mail today to send proof of health insurance for three months. Hannania: Congratulations! How many weeks did it take? |

Ademurfz: Good morning everyone!
I tried to check my research visa application through the BVA but the response was:
Dear Madam, dear Sir,
unfortunately there's no visa-application under the mentioned passport/application number.
The Embassy/Consulate has not yet send the visa application.
So I have no further information for you at the moment.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Yours sincerely

Hannania: Bro! Send them a mail and see the outcome. Today is Friday, so do that asap. When you get to the embassy and don't have the block account, they usually give you two weeks to provide it.
Send them an email asap. The outcome should inform you the next step instead on deliberating Thank you. I just want to know why my own story is different from what I used to read/see online. |

Ademurfz: Good Morning everyone! I applied for a research visa for my PhD position with TVL E13 salary on the 21st of December 2023 (AD).
I'm just curious how the interviewer collected all my documents including my passport.
Because I was expecting him to return my passport until I received an email to bring proof of travel health insurance and the intended date of travel.
Is everything fine like this? Is anyone here to provide more clarification? |
