Politics / Military Helicopter Crashes In Lagos, CAS Orders Probe by adesong: 2:15am On Apr 11, 2015
Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu | credits: http://thecitizenng.com

A military helicopter crashed on Friday during training in Lagos State.

The crash was to said to have occurred due to hydraulic failure.

It was learnt that the helicopter was returning to the Apron after the completion of the training when the crash happened.

The Nigerian Air Force said no casualty was recorded in the accident involving the Super Puma Helicopter.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the Director of Public Relations and Information of NAF, Air Commodore Dele Alonge, said, “A Super Puma Helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Air Force on training mission in Lagos on Friday morning suffered severe damage due to hydraulic failure while on taxi to the Hanger.

“However, the main Rotor debris caused damage to some ground equipment.”

It was learnt that the helicopter was carrying three Air Force personnel, the pilot, the co-pilot and the technician.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu, has, however, ordered investigation into the circumstances that led to the incident.

I quite understand that many do not have the interest of this country at heart.
He should not come with that, else . . . . . . . . . .

We cannot afford to be going 'BACKWARDS'.
lets move Nigeria 'FORWARDS' since CHANGE is here.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: The Possible Impact Of The Emergence Of GMB On FAAN And NIS? by adesong: 3:28pm On Apr 02, 2015
Keneking:
Scrap the damn things...

FAAN Recruitment: scrap
NIS Recruitment: scrap

One doesnt need special google to search just to know that you are saying thrash and as such you should be scrapped.
What are your reasons?

NIS might have been used as a campaign strategy because of the N1000 collected from applicants and the tragedy that surrounded the recruitment exercise then, so if scrap, may be justified if the new government found out that it was used as a campaign strategy and that there is no need really for the exercise.
FAAN according to the MD, need staff because they are understaffed especially fire and security unit.

Politics / We May Return To Militancy - Asari-dokubo by adesong: 2:55pm On Apr 02, 2015
A former Niger-Delta militant, Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, says with the defeat of President Goodluck Jonathan, he and other militants may be forced to return to the creeks.

Asari-Dokubo, who hails from the same state as Jonathan, said the voting pattern showed that the South-West and the North ganged up against the South-South and South-East geo-political zones.

The ex-militant said in a statement by his spokesperson, Rex Anighoro, that it was unfair that the minorities were being emasculated by the majority ethnic groups.

He said he feared that the government of the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, would be vicious.

Asari-Dokubo said, “The conditions that advanced the need to embrace the creeks have been sadly re-energised. It is clear that a vicious government who may maim and murder the voice of the so-called minorities may have just been birthed.

“Indeed integration is non-existent as regional gang-ups and supremacy is symbolic with this victory.”

The ex-militant, who had in January said he and his colleagues would wreak havoc if Jonathan lost the election, praised the President for being a true statesman.

He said it was the struggle of the militants that led to the Jonathan presidency.

Asari-Dokubo said since the South-South had lost the presidency, ex-militants would meet to decide the next line of action.

He said, “While President Jonathan enjoys his moments and basks in the euphoria of a new world-renowned statesman having congratulated Muhammadu Buhari, we must quickly be reminded that our struggle was never about Jonathan or about the presidency.

“President Jonathan is an establishment beneficiary of our struggle, our sweat and blood that many bled and died for. He was never in the struggle and he can never wish away our collective march for statesmanship.

“Yes indeed, to an extent, he was a mitigating factor in self-determination pursuit as we went on sabbatical. This mitigation he seems to have willingly repudiated. The days coming will be critical. We shall study all the conditions and consult widely before determining the way forward for our collective existence and survival as a people. The days coming shall either drive the quest of integration or further separate us.”

Mofetemi:

.....hmmmnnnnnnn...... I think I may disagree because Ogun State is not a northern state where people are placed on worthwhile bursary to propel them to go to school. I applied for Aerodrome Fire Superintendent cadre and I strived to score 60% in da aptitude test despite the fact that I have gotten area of specialization. To my greatest surprise, my state (OGUN)was wiped off from da rolled out list for physical test and interview. Now, to make da plot to be smoothed, FAAN claimed to have updated this cadre by fabricating one name for my state! To be on da safe side, I didn't apply for this cadre with my M.Sc but FAAN gave me a waterloo which degenerated to dilemma. Why should 1:1 and 2:1 be competing wit 2:2, 3rd class, pass, respectively? Why studying hard in School when preference has been thrown to da gods. As it stands now in Nigeria, certificates grades are now things for the gods. An individual can just go to da university and do RUBBISH in course work, project, thesis, dissertation and still graduate and also competing in da world of work. WHERE IS NIGERIA HEADING?! Right now, I have deferred my Ph.D admission so I can explore da world of work judiciously since certificates and grades are USELESS! Today, Education is not Success at all, it is only Platform that is da priority! OHO! Sometimes, destiny torments and someone does not have choice than to resign to fate! Thus, mine has tormented me again!
CHAI, TEARS ON MY PILLOWS!

It is well bro. Forget grade and while waiting you can add skills and think of service(s) you can offer that can get you something to pursue your PhD, dnt give up.
