Politics / Re: Fashola Shuts Aswani Market by adetoyan(m): 10:28am On Jan 28, 2009
You Nigerians and your funny sentiments; as with the Oshodi market and other illegal markets around Lagos Fashola gave them at least 6 months notice but the market people will refuse to tell you that in the name of looking for pity. He built them a new structure at the rate of N1.8 million per shop and has given them 10 years to complete the payment. I mean what more are you asking for. I wouldn't give them 10 years or even build a structure for that matter because the y committed an illegality in the first place. Are we waiting for these so called poor people to start erecting shops on Ozumba Mbadiwe and Lekki expressway before we speak the truth. We all bear witness to the traffic insanity in Lagos state partly caused by these illegal structures. In my own experience we human beings are hard to please. The law's the law let no one involve silly sentiments
NYSC / Re: Should Female Corpers Be Banned From Serving In Banks? by adetoyan(m): 7:26am On Dec 13, 2008
What exactly is the point you people are making sef? Is it today that woman will use their sexuality to gain an advantage? Big Deal! That's the world as it is for you and not just Nigeria. I agree a lot of Nigerian women are materialistic and self serving but the truth of the matter is that we men sef don't help matters. Afterall if we were ignoring these so called ladies of easy virtue fewer would dare to try. It's just like Yahoo Yahoo; the lady has one rich or comfortable idiot who's ready to splash big money on her just for sex. Natural progression dictates that if you see your equal getting ahead of you, then you will try to catch up by any means possible. So if your equal is sleeping around and making money then the easiest way for you to catch up is to join the train. The problem is with our value system in Nigeria; we reward and celebrate people that have this so called money without considering where it came from. A girl is only called a Big Girl when she has slept around and siphoned enough money from rich men. Banning won't solve anything; instead it will only deny sensible ones from getting to there destination.

Basic human nature is selfish and self serving; if anything is going to change it will have to start with individuals willing to stand for change!

Crime / Re: Exposed! Yahoo Boys In Ile Ife And Environs by adetoyan(m): 3:01pm On Jul 05, 2007
I went through all the posts in this forum; a lot of you are close in your deductions about Yahoozes as Impact Magazine calls them; but the truth is there is so much more going on that you don't know. Ile - Ife thrives in fraud as do other 'small' towns because they do not have an effective police presence and there are very few rules. Also the fact that it harbors a university means a lot of anonymous crap goes down on campus. To pursue a suspect on campus the school administration has to be in the know. But some of these acts are perpetrated by their children. Bank staff collect percentages in these small towns to process yahoo transactions hassle free; so what are we talking about; anyone doing credit card or bidpay or one of those letter scams is old school. The in thing now is throwin cheques; bank transfers etc; Fact is they can't collect the money without a bank; if tthey want to stop yahoo they should start at the banks and monitor transfers from abroad. I hear some really crazy yahoozes now go to Togo and Benin Republic to collect and the latest one, wait for it, Dubai; they don't have money transfer limits over there; but at least they take it out of the country. Small towns are anonymous and ideal for fraud. If u need a more complete rundown of Yahoo go to Impact Nigeria dot com its one of their articles.
