Politics / Re: Senators Express Shock As Petroleum Ministry Spends N₦16m On Pens, Others by adewumimayowa: 5:03pm On Dec 12, 2020
owobokiri:
To put things into some sort of perspective, the head of this ministry, that is The Minister of Petroleum is nobody else but the supposedly Mr Clean; President Muhamadu Buhari! Essentially, such colossal amount was used to buy pens under his ministry, the same way they budget billions of Naira for irrelevancies in the presidency every other year irrespective of the outcry!

This shows you didn't read the report, the audit report here was done before buhari's tenure, it was his 2015 report which means the period audited was before 2015.
Most of the corruption under Buhari's regime will only come to the fore after he too must have left office.
The truth in this country however is that, the civil servants are even more corrupt than the politicians!

Politics / Re: Lekki Shootings: Frank Edoho "Osinbajo’s Comments Disappointing" by adewumimayowa: 5:09am On Oct 23, 2020
God bless you for this brilliant recap
TheRareGem1:
Frank forgets that Osinbajo is one of the sensible leaders who have rose up to the occasion.
A quick reminder of how the VP Osinbajo has handled the situation Siince the start of the Protest.

1)The statement by IG of Police was released after the meeting with the Vice President. As a matter of fact, the VP insisted that the IG release the statement that Sunday as opposed to the IG who wanted to release it the next day, Monday.

2)The same 4th of October, VP met with the press and reiterated the need for SARS to be off the streets and also insisted on the need for police reforms.

3) Then on Friday, the 9th of October, VP took the IG of Police to meet with the President and brief him on the situation. Below is the picture of the meeting. Afterwards, the President released his thread.

4) Again on the 11th of October, the VP met with the IG of Police and insisted on completely scrapping SARS when the protests didn't stop. VP also insisted that a statement be released that same Sunday:

5) During the same week of the 11th, VP met with DG DSS, IG of Police, Minister of Police Affairs.

6) On the 12th of October, VP spoke with the press again and emphasised the government's commitment to the reform process of the police force. He also called for the prosecution of erring officers.

7) 15th October, through NEC, he met with State Governors and decided that the best way to deal with the situation was the establishment of Judicial Panels in all states headed by the Governors with different stakeholders including youth representatives.

coolThen on the 16th of October, he released a statement apologising for responding late to the agitations of the protestors. He also reiterated the government's commitment to resolving the issues.

All these yeyebrities are not current about happenings in the country and they jump on to things they know nothing of.

When I told them that Ondo is not Edo!

Edo people get sense but you see those people from cocoa farm, termite don chop their brain finish, Na only dobaale and owomida them sabi cry

Yoruba land remains Yoruba land, they are not ready for anything positive change.

Godfatherism , owomida and agberoism have finished Yorubas.

Incumbents never lose election in Yoruba land because of dobaale and owomida, and remember their god Tinubu is also involved.

Sorry Mazi Jegede, you didn't know your people before contesting undecided

I doubt there's any other geopolitical zone in Nigeria where incumbents have lost election as much as it has happened in the south West!
Baba Akande Oyinlola both lost election ac incumbents in Osun
Adeniyi Adebayo and Kayode Fayemi lost elections as incumbents in ekiti

Lam Adesina and Alao Akala lost elections as incumbents in Oyo state

Segun Osoba lost election as incumbent in ogun state

Baba adefarati and Segun Agagu lost election as incumbent in Ondo state!

Hidentity:
Earlier today, Fayemi walked through the departure lounge of Akure airport today to the greetings of many people, he acted like they didn't exist. He didn't respond or wave. His shoulders were raised as he walked straight to the jet waiting to convey him. I was there. There is a place for being educated, there is another for being civil. These are the people that voted you in. This arrogance is typical of Nigerian leaders, but should this guy desire to be in the Senate after his tenure, he will dine, wine and laugh with every dick and harry he sees. This tells us that electorates are like toilet papers for virtually all political office holders in Nigeria, they use you and dump you. I wish him well, but I also wish his supposed education and exposure came with a touch of politeness and humility.
You mean Akure people voted for fayemi? May God help you bro, for your information, Akure is in Ondo state, not in Ekiti

Politics / Ekiti: Fayose Sacked As PDP Leader by adewumimayowa: 5:28am On Nov 04, 2018
Stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State yesterday removed former Governor Ayo Fayose as the leader of the party in the state while affirming the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Biodun Olujimi, as PDP’s new leader in Ekiti State and Southwest region. Olujimi is the party’s highest ranking political office holder in the southwest geo-political zone.
They asked for the immediate dissolution of the present State Working Committee (SWC) led by the state PDP Chairman, Mr. Gboyega Oguntuase, and demanded the constitution of a caretaker committee. These are part of the resolutions reached at Ekiti PDP Stakeholders Meeting held in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital, and attended by serving and former political office holders.
Party chieftains who attended the meeting included Olujimi, former Deputy Governor, Dr. Sikiru Lawal; former Acting Governor, Mr. Olatunji Odeyemi; Ekiti Assembly Deputy Speaker, Mr. Segun Adewumi; former state PDP Chairman, Chief Bola Olu-Ojo; governorship aspirants, former National Assembly members, former State Assembly members, former local government chairmen and former party officers.
Speaking with reporters after the meeting, Senator Olujimi explained that Fayose was excluded from the meeting owing to the fact that he had just been released from detention by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged financial fraud. “We knew what he might have passed through by staying in detention and we know it might not be easy for him to attend this meeting, so there is no faction at all in our party. My being appointed the Leader does not mean there is crisis.
“The very day he left office was the day he was summoned by EFCC and we knew the rigour he had passed through. We are going to work together, I mean with former Governor Fayose. What we are doing is that we don’t want to allow his exit from office to mean the end of PDP in Ekiti. So, let me assure our supporters that we are on the same page with former Governor Fayose and other stakeholders. We are not factionalised and we shall work hard and ensure we win in next year’s election,” she said.
In the communiqué read by PDP Stakeholders Protem Secretary and former House of Assembly member, Chief Bunmi Olugbade, they overturned the suspension of former State Secretary, Dr. Temitope Aluko, affirming him as a “bona fide member of the party.” The leaders also resolved to throw their weight behind the candidacy of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 presidential poll and other Ekiti candidates in the general elections.
