What is Zimbabwe doing with that plane. Mugabe, Mugabe, Mugabe. How many times did I call you. |
I officially sympathise with the good citizens of Nigeria and specifically the indigenes/natives and settlers/residents of Kogi state. Sunday November 22 year 2015 was a day Nigerians expected to hear the news of who will govern confluence state for another four years but when INEC declared the election inconclusive, many things unfolded and some are still unfolding among was the unfortunate death of the leading aspirant in the election. It was sad but man proposes and God disposes. After the official announcement of the dead of Prince Audu a lot of controversies emerged concerning the election and the constitution. Many constitutional lawyers and political analysts began to quote sections of the constitution but none of the sections fit into the case that occurred. The constitution provided solution to a scenario in which an aspirant was elected and yet to be sworn in but no section provided a solution to an aspirant who died before or during an election. Today INEC released an official statement for the concerned political party (APC) to substitute the deceased and this generated a lot of political debate. 1. Some want the deputy to become the governorship aspirant but he was nominated and not elected. Unconstitutional for a governorship aspirant. 2. Some want the runner up of Kogi state APC primaries to emerged the governorship aspirant but he might not have emerged runner up in primaries if Prince Audu did not contest. 3. Some want a fresh primaries and this is the best option but will new aspirants be allow, will they sell new nomination form e.t.c. 4. Opposition want cancellation of the election. Reason was that the vote was casted for Prince Audu and not for the substituting candidate. INEC want to transfer Prince Audu votes which is same as APC votes to another person. Do electorates vote for individual? Do electorates vote for political party? Assuming the election was successful all these would not arise.

Fill the vacant position What method should the party use? Deputy becoming governorship aspirant, runner up of the governorship primaries becoming the governorship aspirant or a new primaries ? |
JayJustus:When someone undergo chemotherapy the person might not go bald but the colour of the hair will definitely change. |
CACAWA:My comment might be unreasonable because I am not a constitutional lawyer. But the beginning of the statement said if a person duly elected as Governor. But in this case he was not yet declare a Governor and I supported number 2 because INEC will conduct a fresh election |
princejayboss:He might want to use the political stress to suppress his blood pressure. For example exercise increase blood pressure and same exercise can be use to manage blood pressure. That was why I concluded that the HBP was not well managed. It's just my #Hypothesis. He might die of another clinical condition. |
kahal29:The number one is out because he was not declared winner of the election. The election was inconclusive. So number two will take effect |
princejayboss:He might have high blood pressure. Therefore the stress of election might have elevated the BP and he might not control it very well. |
The party will decide either 1. To Have another primaries, 2. The runner up in primaries to emerge the aspirant 3. The deputy to be the aspirant 4. No candidate for the position |
Temysteve:Actually am not her attorney but I think we should judge based on empirical evidences and not propaganda. |

Yesterday was a busy day in Europe. Premier League started as early as 1:30pm in England and as a United fan I went to a viewing centre to watch the match. I have read before commencement of the match that the anthem of France will precede the kick off to commiserate with those that died during last week attack. But one thing is unique about all viewing centers in Nigeria and that is arguments and criticism (the Yoruba people call it òtè). Immediately all the players started mingling and were about to start France national anthem the debating topic emerged. The topic was since all the BokoHaram attack in Nigeria when did an international country league sing Nigeria anthem. Then issues and debates started emanating and a lots of arguments and counter arguments. Then where I was quiet, thinking about their discourse and watching the match I came to conclusions there are significant differences between what happened in France and the BokoHaram war in Nigeria. 1. When the France attack occurred immediately it became a breaking news worldwide. The whole world saw the scene despite being horror and pathetically graphic but in Nigeria there will be a rumor of gunshots and blast then another rumor will emerge saying its a transformer that blow, then another will say many people died, then another will debunk the story that no one died all these conspiracy make the world not to believe us and we don't even believe ourselves. Later like 24 hours pictures from the graphic scene will start to emerge. 2. When France attack occurred all the whole world condemned it and the #PrayForFrance was trending but because of religion, political, ethnicity and behavioral differences some will be condemning and some will sit on the fence and some will even applaud an attack. 3. The final conclusion was the response of France government to the attack. First they grounded all flight and no flight took off, they started working on preventing further attacks, and the response to the victim of the incidence was professional. But in Nigerian the response will be slow, unprofessional and no measures to prevent further attack. These were my personal thoughts. I condemn terrorism and Nigerians should stop being hypocritical about terrorism. "War against terrorism can be won by ALL and not by ONE" |
Can we have detailed of what he declared and what he did not declared in 2003. Can we have his recent asset (2015). Then we can judge him if he stole Kwara State money. The one above is more than what a man can handle in the year 2003. I can not imagine how the wife will worth 1.5billion naira in 2003. That's equivalent or more than Osun state FG monthly allocation |

The accused, who is facing a 44-count charge of fraud and theft, pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Eigbejiale, told the court that the accused committed the offences between March and May this year at Oke-Sokori, Abeokuta. By Ikenna Asomba Lagos — The All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday x-rayed President Muhammadu Buhari’s one month in office and concluded that he had hit the ground running with what he achieved. National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who spoke at a parley with newsmen in Lagos argued that contrary to what was being peddled in some quarters, there had been motion and movement in President Buhari’s first month in office and urged Nigerians to prepare for events that would unfold in the days ahead in the anti-corruption fight of the President Buhari administration. Said he: “Nigerians should grab a front row seat so they can watch clearly as events unfold in the ring of anti-corruption fight in the days ahead. It will no longer be business as usual as the Buhari administration seeks to make sure that every kobo of national funds is spent for the benefit of Nigerians, not to fill the deep pockets of a few fat cats. “The rot met by the Buhari administration is sickening, and the President is working hard to plug all loopholes for siphoning public funds, in addition to recovering looted public funds.” Buhari’s achievements He said thanks to the painstaking efforts of President Buhari, Nigerians now know that out of N8.1 trillion generated by the NNPC in three years, N3.8 trillion was not remitted to the Federation Account. “Nigerians now know that the cash in the Excess Crude Account has been depleted by $2 billion without explanation. A panel of four governors has been set up to investigate what happened to the money that was not remitted to the Federation Account,” Mohammed said. He said it was noteworthy that some Western nations had also assured the Buhari administration of all possible assistance in its efforts to recover the billions of Naira spirited away from the public till by public officers in the past. The APC spokesman said that this was just the beginning of the fight against corruption, urging Nigerians to await more unfolding events. On insecurity and terrorism He argued that President Buhari, in the last one month, had also hit the ground running in tackling insecurity and fighting terrorism. He said: “The President travelled to Chad and Niger, and then hosted a summit of the Lake Chad Basin Commission that comprised Cameroon, Chad and Niger, with Benin also invited. “The result is the decision to deploy the Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), with headquarters in N’Djamena, Chad, on July 30 to pep up the fight against Boko Haram. “President Buhari has also rallied the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) to work with Nigeria in battling the Boko Haram insurgency. “A joint summit of leaders of both economic blocs is to be held shortly to concretise these efforts that will complement the one by Nigeria and its neighbours. “President Buhari also travelled to Germany to meet with G7 leaders to present to them a wish list that included getting their support for the battle against Boko Haram. The leaders of the countries affected by the Boko Haram insurgency have compiled their requirements which are being forwarded to the G7 for appropriate action. “While waiting for that, the US has announced a $5 million assistance for the fight against insurgency and the relocation by the Nigerian military of the command centre to Maiduguri. These are no mean achievements.” Nigeria back to comity of respected nations Mohammed also said that the Buhari administration had availed itself creditably within one month of assuming office by bringing Nigeria back to the comity of respected nations. He said that some leaders who once shunned Nigeria had been inviting President Buhari to visit their countries. He said: “The latest is the US President Barack Obama, who will play host to our President at the White House on July 20. There is no better indication of how much Nigeria is regaining its lost glory than the recent election of former Agriculture Minister, Mr Akinwumi Adesina as the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB).” Seeks a little more patience Mohammed noted that in spite of the laudable achievements of the Buhari administration in the last one month, Nigerians were right to demand even a faster pace. He said: “Nigerians are right and justified in their expectations. All we ask for is a little more patience, a little more understanding and continuous support for the Buhari administration. “We in the APC hereby assure our compatriots, who have expressed their concerns in recent times, that there is no cause for alarm. The Buhari administration is willing, determined and able to effect the change that Nigerians voted for, despite the initial challenges.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/07/one-month-in-office-apc-rates-buhari-high/ |
The achievement I can deduce from the text was: Never before have Nigerians been this expectant from any leader or any government. Then promises like campaign era: “The Buhari-led administration is willing, determined and able to effect the change that Nigerians voted for, despite the initial challenges. No one, not even the reactionary forces that are rampaging now, can sabotage our party’s change mantra. “Nigerians are right and justified in their expectations. All we ask for is a little more patience, a little more understanding and continuous support for the Buhari-led administration.” |
•Nigerians are there to judge —PDP Written by: Bola Badmus and Jacob Segun Olatunji The All Peoples Congress (APC), on Tuesday, listed eight-point achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari in the last 30 days he assumed office. The party, at a press conference addressed by its national publicity secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, insisted that contrary to what was being peddled in some quarters, “I can tell you that there has been motion, and there has been movement.” He stated that the president hit the ground running over insecurity and terrorism that had hitherto prevailed in the country. Mohammed noted that the Buhari-led administration had availed itself creditably within one month of assuming office. One of the achievements, as listed by the party, was Buhari’s will power in tackling insecurity and fighting against terrorism “This is one area in which the Buhari-led administration has hit the ground running. The president had hardly been sworn into office than he embarked on a shuttle diplomacy to rally Nigeria’s neighbours to act as a common front against the terror group Boko Haram. “The president travelled to Chad and Niger and then hosted a summit of the Lake Chad Basin Commission that comprised Cameroon, Chad and Niger, with Benin Republic also invited. “The result is the decision to deploy the Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), with headquarters in N'Djamena, Chad, on July 30, to pep up the fight against Boko Haram. This is the same force that the past administration could not get off the ground in six years. “That’s what we meant when we said what the Jonathan-led administration could not do in six years, the Buhari-led administration has done in three weeks, not minding that some mischievous elements decided to quote us out of context.” President Buhari, he also said “has rallied the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) to work with Nigeria in battling the Boko Haram insurgency. A joint summit of leaders of both economic blocs is to be held shortly to concretise these efforts that will complement the one by Nigeria and its neighbours. “Outside our sub-region, the president travelled to Germany to meet with G7 leaders to present to them a wish list that included getting their support for the battle against Boko Haram. The leaders of the countries affected by the Boko Haram insurgency have compiled their requirements which are being forwarded to the G7 for appropriate action.” The results of some of the movements, he noted, caused the United States (US) to announce a $5 million assistance for the fight against the terrorists who have been ravaging the country and sub-region. “Added to the relocation by the Nigerian military of the command centre to Maiduguri, these are no mean achievements. “Only a few weeks back, Nigeria could not enlist the support of any Western nation in the fight against Boko Haram, could not get the military hardware needed to pep up the fight and had to resort to using mercenaries to confront the bandits, though the country boasts of a military that has been globally acknowledged for helping to restore peace to many countries around the world,” he said The statement Mohammed read at the conference also noted that “the fight against corruption ranks very high on the list of the Buhari-led administration’s priorities and justifiably so. “The refrain, ‘If Nigeria does not kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria,’ is now commonplace, and it is a truism. Nothing, not even the fight against terror, can succeed without putting an end to the kind of prodigious and sickening corruption being witnessed in these climes. “That is why the president also included it on the wish list he took to Germany during the last G7 summit. Thankfully, some Western nations have now assured the Buhari-led administration of all possible assistance in its efforts to recover the billions of Naira that was spirited away from the public by public officers who abused their office during the immediate past administration. “Only yesterday (Monday), the president ordered revenue-generating agencies, including the NNPC, FIRS, Customs and NPA, to close all illegal revenue accounts and to also remit all funds generated to the Federation Account. “This is a momentous step considering that those illegal accounts are being used to siphon public funds. “Thanks to the painstaking efforts of President Buhari, Nigerians now know that out of N8.1 trillion generated by the NNPC in three years, N3.8 trillion was not remitted to the Federation Account. “Nigerians now know that the cash in the Excess Crude Account has been depleted by $2 billion without explanation. A panel of four governors has been set up to investigate what happened to the money that was not remitted to the Federation Account. “The rot met by the Buhari-led administration is sickening, and the president is working hard to plug all loopholes for siphoning public funds, in addition to recovering looted public funds.” He also said President Buhari had brought the country back to the comity of respected nations “Since President Buhari's election on March 28, 2015, Nigeria has been moving fast to regain its deserved place in the comity of respected nations. “Leaders who once shunned Nigeria have been inviting President Buhari in droves to visit their countries. The latest is United States President Barack Obama, who will play host to our president at the White House on July 20. “There is no better indication of how much Nigeria is regaining its lost glory than the recent election of former Agriculture Minister, Akinwumi Adesina, as the president of the African Development Bank (AfDB). “Recall that Nigeria has never before led the continental bank, despite its front-line role there. In backing and campaigning for Dr Adesina, President Buhari put his acclaimed sterling qualities to a global test and he passed in flying colours. Adesina’s election is a testimony to the perception of Nigeria under President Buhari’s leadership. The national publicity secretary said “my party, the APC, understands and appreciates the concerns of Nigerians as far as the perceived pace of the administration is concerned. “We understand that they repose so much confidence in the party and the government to act quickly to stamp out insecurity, tackle corruption, revive the moribund economy, provide jobs and generally restore hope. “Justifiably, the expectations are high and urgent and the Buhari-led administration has started addressing them, despite the enormous challenges that it faces, including an empty treasury and an economy that has virtually collapsed. “While Nigerians are right to demand quick and sustained action in addressing these challenges - and honestly we make no excuses - it is important for us to put things in perspective for a better understanding.” He called the attention of Nigerians to the fact that “Nigeria has never before witnessed this kind of transition. What the country has been accustomed to is transition from one government to another under the same ruling party, not from the ruling party to the opposition as we have now. The implication is that this is a new learning curve, with its attendant hiccups.” He added that “never before has the ship of Nigerian state been steered aground as we have it now. Never before have Nigerians been this expectant from any leader or any government. These are all the more reasons to get things right, once and for all, so we won't need to continue with the vicious cycle of hopes raised and dashed.” While appealing to Nigerians, he said “we in the APC hereby assure our compatriots, who have expressed their concerns in recent times, that there is no cause for alarm. “The Buhari-led administration is willing, determined and able to effect the change that Nigerians voted for, despite the initial challenges. No one, not even the reactionary forces that are rampaging now, can sabotage our party’s change mantra. “Nigerians are right and justified in their expectations. All we ask for is a little more patience, a little more understanding and continuous support for the Buhari-led administration.” Reacting, the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Tuesday, declared that Nigerians would judge the claims of the APC that it had perform excellently within the last 30 days, despite the late release of the handing over note by the PDP-led administration The national publicity secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, said, “we are not going to say anything for now. Let Nigerians judge for themselves.”

Contrary to reports that President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered the immediate disposal of nine of the 11 VIP transport aircraft in the presidential fleet, the presidency on Friday denied knowledge of any such directive. THISDAY newspaper had quoted unnamed sources as saying the president had directed the selling of serviceable and unserviceable aircrafts to cut maintenance costs in line with the government’s policy to drastically reduce its annual expenditure. Eight of the planes in the fleet, including Boeing 737, two Gulfstream 550 jets, Gulfstream V jet, two Falcon 7X planes, the Hawker Siddeley aircraft and Augusta Westland chopper, the report said, are reserved strictly for the president’s movement. Other aircrafts, including two Falcon 900 planes, the Dornier, the Cessna Citation, the Beechracft King Air, and two AugustaWestland choppers, are reserved for the airlifting of the Vice-President, Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as visiting African heads of states. But speaking to PREMIUM TIMES Friday, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, denied knowledge of such directive. “The story of the order for the sale of aircrafts in the Presidential Fleet, about which so much interest is being expressed, is not known to us,” Mr. Shehu said. Mr. Shehu said if anything like that was being contemplated, the Presidency would issue a statement through its official channels to announce it. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/185385-buhari-has-not-ordered-sale-of-9-presidential-jets-presidency.html |
