Why cant you find a conference that is relevant to your field/interest by yourself. A travel agenf doesnt improve your chances of getting approved during interview.
Matter of fact, US Embassy discourages applicants from using agents/brokers.

Have even invite the person to Nigeria we're he spend vacation here and to preach around churches together

1. Get an invitation letter from the US . Invitation letter can be from a relative, seminars , conference, wedding ceremony, etc.

2. Book hotel (reservation) or arrival home in the US .

3. Go to GTB and pay your visa fee ..MRV

4. Open CGI profile and fill DS 160 form

5 Book your visa interview appointment.

6. Round up supporting documents

7. Attend your visa interview on the appointment day.

Nobody in Nigeria or abroad can claim to have power to influence the issuance of visa ESPECIALLY at the United States Embassy .

What any genuine and experienced travel agent can do for you is to apply for a conference for you , book your hotel reservation, pay your visa fee , book your appointment, and provide supporting documents for you . He can also do some visa questionnaire practice for you so that you will know the possible questions and what to answer . BUT THE AGENT CANNOT GUARANTEE YOU THE VISA 100% EVEN IF YOU PAY HIM OR HER 1 BILLION. But you can give it a try and be careful anyways . There are genuine travel agents but they cannot guarantee visas especially the US visa.

Travel agents have been in existence before the advent of internet and they will always exist because not everyone has the time of DO IT YOURSELF. Nevertheless, if you want to patronise a travel agent be 100% certain that he or she is genuine and knows about the job.

HOWEVER ....Nobody can claim any SLOT regarding an International Conference or Seminars, if one conference application is closed there is always another conference that will be available all through each days of every year. In that respect , the agent that claimed THERE IS 4 SLOTS REMAINING was only trying to rush you into applying (although he or she may have a good intentions).

Another point is that after the conference and hotel reservation , you will have to face the music of the process of B1/B2 visitor's visa which no one can guarantee 100%.

Having said this , if a genuine and EXPERIENCED travel agent handles your visa, the probability of the success is 85% compare to a novice or someone who doesn't know anything about visa processing.

BE CAREFUL ANYWAYS AS YOU PROCEED WITH YOUR SOJOURN..... Don't give up.

If you are going for like say short Bible program of 3 weeks or Bible training or seminar or camp or conference of 2 weeks they all fall under B1/B2 Visiting visa. So you will be applying for Visiting visa .

You do not have a choice pastor , you have to apply first and then be looking for emergency appointment so that they can allow you to attend your visa interview before the start of your program in the US.
