Politics2019: Nigerians In Diaspora Task US, EU On Neutrality by admox2003(op): 12:24pm On Feb 11, 2019
2019: Nigerians in Diaspora Task US, EU on Neutrality

Victor Ogunje in Ado Ekiti

Nigerians in diaspora Charge US, EU, Others on Neutrality
Nigerians in diaspora have agreed with the position canvassed by the federal government of Nigeria that international community has no business meddling in the politics of the nation.

They said the best way the United States of America (USA) and European Union (EU) could earn the respect of African nations, is by distancing themselves from the continent's local politics and allow individual countries to play their politics in a manner devoid of interferences.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti from Washington DC, USA on Sunday, the Nigerians under the banner of Nigeria Coalition for Change, appeals to the international community to be neutral in order not to avert democracy in the country from being truncated. The statement signed by the group's chairman, Mr. Samuel Ayodele , Secretary, Alhaji Ali Abubakar Sadiq and Diaspora Coordinator, Mr. Julius Adewumi, appreciated the US and EU for their tremendous contributions to stabilize Nigeria politically and allow democracy to grow.

The Nigerian professionals warned that allowing Nigerians to have the feelings that these respectable international bodies are interfering in the local politics of the country could create friction and diplomatic crisis that could lead to frosty relationship with the Nigerian nation.

"We, Nigerians in the diaspora, appreciate the US and EU’s pivotal roles in building democracy in Nigeria. But Nigeria is a nation that is democratically sophisticated, that will not condone undue interference, particularly in their politics and the international community must take cognizance of this fact which must remain sacrosanct.

“The international community has shown commitments to voter education in Nigeria, spending millions of dollars to propagate the ideal of free, fair and credible elections, and this is how far they can go, because displaying body languages that suggests they have preferences among presidential contenders may result into diplomatic crisis.

"We will appreciate the US and EU if they can restrict themselves to ensuring that the polls are credible, rather than showing preference among the political actors in order to ensure diplomatic ties with Nigeria remains strong and unshaken".

The group also appeals to the electorate to shun vote buying in the coming elections, as voting the right candidate remains the best way to safeguard the future of the country. Allowing politicians with ill-gotten wealth to buy their ways into sensitive elective positions would further debase governance and increase the sufferings of the Nigerian masses.

“The worst trait that had conspicuously characterized our elections in recent times, were cases of vote buying. Politicians without integrity but with obscene wealth’s fondly induced poor voters with money ranging between N200 to N5,000 per voter depending on bargaining power.

"A nation that looks the other way as voters are bought, is undermining its democracy with no prospect of good governance. So, it is expedient for our people to resist such temptation in the upcoming elections".

“We fervently look forward to free, fair and peaceful elections in the coming few weeks and look forward to having voters elects the right candidates into the offices of President, Governors and legislators across the country"

Politics’recession Forced Me Into Hospitality Business’ by admox2003(op): 7:30am On Dec 25, 2018
By: Daniel Adeleye
http://thenationonlineng.net/recession-forced-hospitality-business/

Bamidele Faparusi a 2001 graduate of Electrical Electronics from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) is the CEO of Hotel Express International (HEI) an online hotel booking portal. In this interview with Daniel Adeleye, the former member of House of Representatives speaks on his passion for the hospitality sub-sector vis-a-vis the challenges and prospects. Excerpts:

Tell us about Hotel Express International (HEI)

Hotel Express International is a hotel international discount programme based in Norway with extension in Nigeria. It’s a business of helping various travellers reduces their travel expenses. Hotel Express negotiate global discount with hotels and that discount can be transfer only to their members. So it’s a very good platform for business owners and travellers to save money on their travel cost. One good thing about HEI is it opens to all Nigerians; It’s not only for the VIPs, it accommodates both low and income earners. The benefits are for all Nigerians especially business people and pleasure travellers. Joining HEI is like any other social clubs, there are terms and provisions to become member and the benefits accrue on the platform is enormous.

So what HEI got to offer Nigerians?

HEI just as its vision of reducing travel cost to travellers, HEI is set to make the platform available to individuals and corporate organisations to help them reduce their travel expenses. There are different categories of products with HEI that individuals and corporate organisations can benefit from. HEI online is a very good platform where as you search booking can be built for organisations where they can control their travel itineraries and do their bookings on their own platforms at a well discounted rate that can be negotiated globally. So Nigerians of all classes can actually benefit from HEI. HEI is what every business can actually key into to increase their revenue, increase their brand awareness, have international exposure. The HEI is good and not just for Nigeria, when you have the card from here you can go to anywhere in the world and use it. So that’s very beneficial.

What personal experience inspired you to establish HEI in Nigeria?

Yes of course over the years, I’ve been using an HEI tag sometimes in 2008 when I went to South Africa for a conference. I’ve used it in several countries that I travelled to like Dubai, UK amongst others and it saved me a lot of hotels expenses, almost half of what I should have paid. And after a while I spoke with them in Norway and they bought the idea of extending the business to Nigeria. And that’s what we have been doing and a lot of people had already keyed into it. It’s an opportunity for hoteliers to increase their revenue, not just hotels, it includes all travel service providers like restaurants, spa, car hirer services and airlines, HEI is like a melting point for all of them to come and offer discount to the members of travels providers which cut across the globe and members are increasingly growing.

What’s your customer base?

HEI customer base across the globe is over 15 million and we have over 150,000 hotels on the platform with a lot of corporate organisations in the programme. Although we started in Nigeria two years ago and currently we have about 500 hotels on our platform in Nigeria such as Transcorp, Protea brand, best western, Golden tulips, Reiz Continental, 3-5 Star hotels amongst others.

HEI also create employment opportunity for many Nigerians. We have direct staff and agents. Being agents of HEI, they can work from their homes and offices and presently we have ten full time staff over fifty agents across Nigeria.

What are some of the challenges facing this kind of business in Nigeria?

Yes of course, like every other businesses there are challenges, especially coming with a business concept that is new. One major challenge unlike our counterparts in other countries is that of businesses and customers. Here people still believe that there should be facial contact before they can deal. You know this is purely a service business and people are still sceptical about patronising service business online.

To address this challenge we have people on the ground, we are opening up the business to resellers and agents who are interested in taking a bite from the cake. Presently we have 8 resellers and 50 agents nationwide and there are still sill enough rooms to accommodate more resellers and agents across the country.

Can you shed more light on resellers and agents; what differentiate the two?

Yes resellers are like distributors within a territory who has the capacity to sell all products of the company and also service customers within their agreed territory. More importantly, resellers have to be a business entity. On the other hand, an agent can be an individual interest to sell any of the company products but they are not allowed to provide any services, agents are like freelance salesperson. Being a reseller or agent of HEI is very rewarding.

What’s your appraisal of the hospitality industry in Nigeria; do you think it has lived up to people’s expectation?

Hospitality industry in Nigeria is actually coming up. But I think government needs to do more to improve on the tourism potential of the country. They need to open up Nigeria to the rest of the world. We are not there yet compare to what’s happening in other African countries like Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and Namibia. Those countries are doing far better than we do in Nigeria. If Nigerian government could come up with strategy that will bring in tourists to Nigeria, that will actually impact positively on hospitality industry in the country. Local brands are coming up, there are a lot of investments going on in the industry in Nigeria, but that investment can only be sustainable if there is enabling environment for tourism to thrive. And that’s the challenge that hospitality industry are facing in the country.

It’s not the single approach that can actually address that issue, we have to be multi-dimensional. First and foremost, we have the population in Nigeria and how well are we going to galvanise the Nigerian population to develop our local tourism potential? And what do I mean; somebody from Lagos going to Bauchi for tourism, somebody from Bauchi comes to Ekiti on tourism and somebody from Port-Harcourt going to Enugu for tourism. We really don’t have that yet. There should be a strategy that will ensure that all that is happening in Nigeria should be like starting from the basis, and then open up a country. Every state in Nigeria has tourism potential that can be harnessed. It left to the federal government to work with the states government to develop those potentials by partnering the states government. And then collectively, see how they can market it to the rest of the world. By so doing I think a lot of tourists would come visiting Nigeria. Nigeria has all divers of tourism; we have spiritual tourism, adventurous tourism, pleasure tourism and all that, if all these are developed and market very well to the rest of the world, it can actually bring attention to Nigeria.

And again, the issue of insecurity challenge remain a threat and actually hindering the growth of the business in Nigeria. Although that may not really be an issue in Lagos or Abuja, but in the areas like Plateau, Borno states, hospitality business has suffered a lot in those states. Also tourist location, how many world class tourist locations do we have in Nigeria? The Osun Osogbo mangrove is a UNESCO site and most of the UNESCO sites in Nigeria how do we promote them? Even if we focus on UNESCO accredited locations and showcase them to the world, with UNESCO brand behind those locations we should be able to draw people to Nigeria, but since the attention of government is not in that area. I think government needs to redirect their attention to tourism and see what could benefit the citizens from it.

How has recession affected the hospitality sector and what’s the way forward?

Like every other sector of the economy, hospitality is definitely being the first to suffer from recession because when the purchasing power of people reduces and business activity reduces, then people will travel less and when people travel less it will affect the hospitality industry. When the purchasing power of businesses reduces, instead of people staying in hotel, they’ll look for friends to hang out with to trim cost. That’s why HEI came in to fill in that gap, to help people save up to 50 percent on their hotels bills and their other travel packages. It was actually during the recession that I felt that there is a need for Hotel Express International in Nigeria at least to cushion the impact of the recession. And I think we have done fairly well in that regards.

What’s your long-term vision for HEI

Hotel Express International Nigeria is here to stay and stay for a very long time. We are building our network of travel partners daily, be it hotels, airlines, restaurants, health and wellness, salon and spa and all that. We are also investing heavily in training of our personnel’s while we hire more as our membership grows. Recently there is a local airline that I won’t like to mention that will be our local airline partner. We will make the deal open as soon as the details are worked out. We are open to this kind of partnership provided it will return money into the pocket of our members.

You were once a lawmaker. Can you tell us what you did prior to been a lawmaker?

I was the Managing Director/CEO of my Engineering Company, GreenPower Overseas Limited, which I started in 2003. GreenPower is into provision of Solar Energy Power Systems and Electrical Building Services. As a registered engineer I also engage in engineering consultancy services with few global firms.

I was a federal lawmaker in 2011under the political platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and later at the All Progressives Congress (APC), where I represented the Ekiti South Federal Constituency 2.

Politics2019: Nigerians In US Endorse Buhari, Says He's Better Than Atiku by admox2003(op): 11:52am On Nov 22, 2018
2019: Nigerians in US Endorse Buhari, Says he's Better than Atiku

Victor Ogunje in Ado Ekiti

A group based in the United States of America(USA), Nigeria Coalition for Change, has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari has a
sterling record to win the 2019 presidential poll in a contest devoid of electoral malfeasance ..

The coalition exuded confidence that Buhari will trounce the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar , if
Nigerians consider the track records of the two leaders to decide who is the best for the coveted presidential seat.

The group in a letter presented on Wednesday at the Nigerian embassy in Washington DC endorsing Buhari for the 2019 poll, said the
coalition was fascinated and proud to associate with your unblemished track records within the last three and half years you mounted the
saddle of governance in Nigeria.

The letter signed by its Coordinator, Mr. Samuel Ayodele and made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, stated that of utmost
interest to the coalition was the virulent manner the president has prosecuted the anti-graft war, which he said had reduced corruption.

Ayodele said: “We Nigerians in the diaspora have been feeling the tremendous impacts of the global reckoning the war had earned and it
has saved us from ignominy we suffered in the past owing to the widespread impression that all Nigerians were corrupt.

“We are pleased to inform you that your actions and strong sense of character and Spartan lifestyle have changed the narratives. In the
past, embezzlement of public funds was taken as a way of life but now, the fear of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has gained traction and has become the beginning of wisdom .

“Your Excellency, we have monitored your proactive steps in bailing the country out of the economic doldrums by diversifying the economy
and break the barrier of monolithic economy, I mean sole dependence on oil that had hitherto been in operation. Today, we now have an
agricultural and solid mineral sectors we can all be proud of.

“Before your ascension onto the throne, the entire Northeast Region of the country was bedeviled by the scourge of Boko Haram insurgency.
Over 50,000 Nigerians had been killed through senseless bombings and larger portion of that territory was under the control of the
terrorists.

“While we agree that occasional bombings are still being witnessed, the terrorists’ madness had been substantially curtailed due to the
serious actions taken by your government.

“As of now, available statistics revealed that over one million unemployed youths have been captured under the safety net of N-power,
an initiative with ultimate aim to rout poverty within the youths’ stratum . The same number of poor Nigerians are enjoying monthly
stipends being monies that could have gone into the pockets of a few but for your stringent actions against sleaze” .

The group, according to its Coordinator also praised Buhari’s accomplishments in the following areas: construction of Lagos-Kano,
Abuja-Kaduna rail lines, construction of Ibadan-Lagos expressway, renovation of all nation’s international airports and the school Feeding Scheme .

Ayodele listed others to include: youth in Commercial Agriculture Programme, the proposed building of over 10,000 Primary Healthcare
facilities across 774 local governments, sustainability of the nation’s electoral system via independence of INEC, Budget Support and paris club Funds to states for the payment of workers’ salaries among others.

“Taking cognizance of all these sterling achievements, this organization considered you not only worthy of being reelected, but stands out among those vying for the presidential race.

“We are not only going to canvass for global backing for the project, we shall reach out to our people at home and carry the message of
continuity to their doorsteps.

“We are requesting that those of us in the Diaspora should be carried along on how government policies are being implemented. This will
present veritable avenue for us to contribute our quotas and be abreast of happenings at home for we have no other country than Nigeria”, he said.

Politics2019: Fayemi’s Victory Can’t Stop My Senatorial Ambition, Says APC Chieftain by admox2003(op): 10:29am On Sep 03, 2018
Olakiitan Ogunje in Ado Ekiti

An All Progressives Congress(APC) chieftain in Ekiti State, Dr. Olusegun Osinkolu, has clarified that the victory recorded by Dr Kayode Fayemi in the July 14 governorship election would serve as a catalyst to his senatorial ambition rather than stalling it.

Osinkolu, who is gunning for the APC’s ticket to represent Ekiti North Senatorial District in 2019, said the fact that he came from the same
local government with Fayemi shouldn’t serve as impediment to his senatorial aspiration, calling on those sharing such sentiment to bury
the thought.

Speaking with newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Friday, Osinkolu added that he is still pursuing his aspiration with vigour and that he stands a
good prognosis to get the party’s ticket and win the election based on his acceptability among the members of the party.

He said the constitution of the APC doesn’t foreclose people’s aspiration based on territorial location for any elective position
provided such aspirant is acceptable to his party and the electorate .

“Let me say this expressly that Dr Kayode Fayemi’s victory in the last election will help in propelling my victory if given the party’s
ticket. Our party members are ready to give me their nods to get the ticket, having laboured so hard to launder the image of the party in
the past.

“I was one of the few heroes that fought the party’s course during the long drawn legal battle culminating in Dr Fayemi’s first coming as a
governor of this state. I contested for Senatorial seat twice in Ekiti North and lost narrowly to Senator Olubunmi Adetumbi in 2011 and
2015 respectively.

“In spite of the shortcomings in the primaries, I never betrayed the party by rocking the boat. I still committed my resources to ensure
the party won in 2011 but lost in 2015 when Senator Adetumbi was represented as the candidate of our party.

“Putting it succinctly, I have always been a committed ad unwavering party man. I believe in party supremacy and that accounted for why I
have been spending personal resources to put the party together since the APC lost in 2014 in Ekiti North .

“I offered myself as the rallying point during the trying period. I gave them a sigh of hope that we have not lost everything after the
2014 catastrophic defeat we suffered before the light came after the tunnel with the enigmatic victory recorded by our leader, Dr Fayemi on
July 14.

“The National Executive Committee of the party at a meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Chairman of the
Party, Com. Adams Oshiomhole and other party’s top notches like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday in Abuja said whoever will get
the party’s ticket must emerge through Direct or indirect primary,
not imposition.

“So, if I become the preference of the party members based on convictions about my unblemished past records , nothing can change
that , because the sovereignty lies in the people when it comes to election.

"Instances abound, where top elected official and Senator came from the same constituency. In 2011, the late Deputy Governor, Mrs
Funmilayo Adunni Olayinka and Senator Babafemi Ojudu, who represented Ekiti Central senatorial district were from Ado Ekiti Local Government., among other innumerable similar political situations across the country.

“Whether I come from Dr. Fayemi’s local government or constituency can’t take preeminence over the 1999 constitution, APC guidelines and
Constitution and the power of the people. This can only apply to appointive positions not elective”, Osinkolu expressly stated.

Osinkolu promised to support the candidate adopts by the party in Ekiti North if he loses the primary, but “I never envisaged losing out
because the people knew and appreciated the sacrifices I had made in the past before the party got to this present situation”.

He appealed to party leaders to conduct credible and acceptable primary in the September primaries for candidates with high
acceptability among the electorate to get the tickets and record resounding victories for APC .

PoliticsFayemi’s Campaign Chief Slams Fayose For ‘borrowing’ N5b To Fund Election by admox2003(op): 9:57pm On Jul 02, 2018
The Deputy Director General, Kayode Fayemi Campaign Council, Hon. Bamidele Faparusi, has condemned the alleged clandestine moves made
by the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose for the procurement of N5 billion loan to fund the July 14 governorship election.

Faparusi, a member of the seventh House of Representatives, described the alleged action as wicked and shameless, saying Ekiti didn’t expect
a governor to perpetrate such evil against his people when workers have not been paid six month salary arrears.

He added that the gale of defections hitting the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) few days to election, indicated how unpopular and deserted
Governor Fayose has become in the party, thereby forcing staunch members of the party into the All Progressives Congress(APC).

In a statement in Ado Ekiti on Monday, where he exuded confidence that the APC will trounce its rival PDP in the impending poll, Faparusi
bemoaned that Fayose has today immersed Ekiti into N60 billion debt, being the accumulation of debt the present government has amassed
since 2014.

Faparusi appealed to the people of the state to reject what he portrayed as Fayose’s evil continuity agenda, saying this would further debase Ekiti morally and financially as well as injecting the culture of mediocrity into governance.

He said: “Available information from the State Ministry of Finance confirmed that Governor Fayose had last week finetuned arrangement and
got secret approval with a new generation bank for a N5 billion loan.

“Our party is not averse to borrowing of money to initiate landmark projects that will impact positively on people’s lives , but this should not be deployed to fund elections under the guise of desperation to foist continuity agenda using a stooge that has mediocrity and incompetence boldly written all over his body.

“It marveled us as Ekiti people that Governor Fayose could not borrow money to complete the Civic Centre and the State Pavilion built by his
predecessor, Dr. Fayemi , but could be so callous and mean to borrow a staggering sum of N5b to win election in Ekiti.

“Most disheartening was the fact that this criminal tendency was being perpetrated under a government that has failed to pay salary and
pensions regularly. We would have even applauded the government if the intention was geared towards paying our workers and put smiles on
their faces.

“As we speak, the state civil servants , not only the engine room of our government, but our pride and where we have the highest
concentration of elite have been badly pauperized to the extent that a Director on grade level 15 will be coerced by a governor for N1,500 and a miserable sachet of rice and spaghetti at the government house pavilion.

“Lies, deception and ineptitude have been upgraded to statecraft and Ekiti has become a laughing stock in the comity of states. All these
must stop and our people must take their destiny in their own hands to Prevent Governor Fayose from guillotining and jeopardizing the dream
of our founding fathers”.

Faparusi assured those who defected to APC on account of Dr. Fayemi’s towering and acceptable image in the state won’t regret taking such
historic action that will be of corporate benefit to the state if AC wins the election.

“The issue of Ekiti has gone beyond Dr. Fayemi versus Governor Fayose or Prof Kolapo Olusola, it is a fight against devil that was virulently pursuing expansionist agenda in Ekiti. It is a fight against those who wanted to arrogate and corner Ekiti’s patrimony to themselves and it is a war we must win on July 14 to emancipate our people.

“Every discerning mind must view this election from the prism of a struggle to reclaim our honour, integrity and land that were being desecrated under this PDP ignoble reign. So, our people must attempt by Fayose to purchase their conscience on the day of election”.

PoliticsAbiola’s Honour Will Give Votes To Buhari, Fayemi , Says Ex-lawmaker by admox2003(op): 12:52pm On Jun 14, 2018
Victor Ogunje in Ado Ekiti

The Deputy Director General of the Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation in Ekiti State, Hon. Bamidele Faparusi, has declared that the honour
conferred on the late Chief Moshood Kashimaawo Abiola, as the winner of the June 12 annulled election would help in bringing the family out
of trauma.

Faparusi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) , appealed to the southwest people to reciprocate the President Muhammadu
Buhari-led APC government’s gesture with massive votes, at both the July 14 governorship votes in Ekiti State and next year’s presidential
election.

He said the honour bestowed on this great Nigerian as Icon of democracy by President Buhari , leading to declaration of June 12 as Democracy Day, would relieve the family of the late politician of the burden of oppression and repression caused by the then military government.

In a statement in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, Faparusi said the step taken by Buhari has shored up his acceptability in the southwest and this he
said will translate to votes in 2019 presidential poll.

Faparusi expressed elation that the federal government’s gesture came as the right time when the July 14 Ekiti governorship election was
gathering momentum, saying Buhari’s landmark steps will help the candidate of the APC, Dr Kayode Fayemi in the poll.

“The southwest people are grateful people who know how to appreciate and reciprocate good gestures. They voted for the late MKO Abiola in
the cancelled June 12 presidential election not because he was from the region, but for his good philanthropic deeds across Nigeria.

“The region shouldn’t be oblivious of one fact, former President Olusegun Obasanjo was the greatest beneficiary of Abiola’s demise and
he never deemed it fit to give him posthumous honour for paying supreme price for Nigeria to assume democratic rule.

“Chief Obasanjo presided over a democratically constituted government for eight years and the issue of June 12 had no strand of meaning to
him. This particular action made the bold step taken by President Buhari more rewarding. It signposted great honour, not only for the
southwest but the entire Nigerians.

“We must reciprocate the gesture by embracing APC in the southwest region. We must start manifesting this by voting massively for Dr Fayemi in 2018 election to give a sign that we are appreciative of what the government at the centre had done”, he said.

Faparusi expressed confidence that the electorate will vote for Dr Fayemi in the coming election, saying people were already disillusioned with Governor Ayodele Fayose’s government that was owing salaries and pensions of workers.

“There is no town you visit that you won’t see anger on the faces of our people. Salaries and pensions are not paid for eight months.

“You could only see infrastructures being built in only two out 133 towns in this state , which showed gross abandonment of the grassroots. No social security, no jobs, no security anywhere except deception and looting of the people’s commonwealth .

“All these were not witnessed under Dr Fayemi between 2010 and 2014 and we are coming the second term to reenact that magic wand that will help set Ekiti on a faster pace of economic development”.

PoliticsAPC Delegates Can’t Be Bought With Ill-gotten Wealth by admox2003(op): 11:48am On Apr 23, 2018
Faparusi: APC Delegates Can’t Be Bought with Ill-Gotten Wealth

A member of the seventh House of Representatives in Ekiti State , Hon Bamidele Faparusi, has said those banking on money to purchase the delegates in the May 5 primary of the party will get a shock of their
lives.

Faparusi said the event of recent years had taught the delegates a bitter lesson that voting a governor that is accessible and humble is better than electing a haughty and disrespectful leader, who bought his way to power.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant expressed confidence that the coming primary will be more of antecedents rather than wealth, saying those who have looted government’s money or indulged in fraudulent practices in their private businesses will be disappointed.

In a statement in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, the former federal lawmaker, stated that it will be difficult for those who criminally amassed wealth to have their way in the primary.

“If you gauge the mood of the delegates, it has become a general consensus among them that whoever thought he could buy his way into the government house will get a shock of his life.
“What every member is looking for are your political antecedents , perception about your personality by the public , your loyalty to the party, character and the zone you belong.
“Nobody is talking about moneybags in Ekiti APC today, what they want is who can deliver in the general election and do Ekiti proud as a governor.
“So, I want to advise those who were wooing delegates with money to rather surrender such money to the EFCC , because it won’t work. Cash for votes has never worked in Ekiti since 1999 and it won’t work this time around”.
The APC chieftain added further: “I heard of aspirants bragging around that they will give as much as N1m to a delegate in the primary. Let them come, they will be shamed and disgraced. They can decide to spend these wealth anyhow, because they acquired them fraudulently”.
He urged Chief John Odigie-Oyegun led National Working Committee not to renege on its promise to conduct a free, fair and transparent primary in the state.

Faparusi said the party will end up failing in the general election if the primary is skewed in favour of any aspirant.
“APC must go into history in this election. The event of 2007 in the PDP when an aspirant that came third in the primary was later imposed as the candidate was instructive in this circumstance.
“Ekiti people abhor imposition and that accounted for why the PDP candidate was roundly rejected in that election and forced the party to rig the election, which was subsequently upturned by an appeal court .
“To save our party from another calamitous disgrace, the delegates’ list must neither be padded nor changed overnight to create crisis”, he advised

Politics2019: Buhari’s Early Declaration, Huge Respect For Nigerians- Faparusi by admox2003(op): 2:36pm On Apr 12, 2018
A member of the seventh House of Representatives, Hon. Bamidele Faparusi, has described the early declaration of interest in the 2019 presidential poll by President Muhammadu Buhari confirmed the enormous respect he has for Nigerian voters.

He said the President was quite aware that no one, no matter how powerful could use his position to rig election, saying this he said prompted his declaration to give him the ample opportunity to reach out to Nigerians.

The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC), said President Buhari had again redefined the politics by influencing the unanimous decision taken by the National Executive Committee(NEC) of the party to conduct congresses and hold National convention in consonance to the party’s constitution.

Faparusi, an All Progressives Congress( APC) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, endorsed Buhari’s second term bid, assuring that he would work assiduously with other progressive politicians in the state to mobilize not less than 80% of Ekiti voters to back the president.

In a statement in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, Faparusi said Buhari’s second term would give him veritable chance to fight corrupt individuals and insurgents, who were bent on destabilizing the country to achieve certain parochial interest.

He said: “President Buhari’s reelection remains the best thing for Nigeria. This is a President who is selfless and incorruptible unlike his predecessors who permitted looting spree that brought Nigeria to the abyss of economic recession and deprivation. “With this early declaration, it shows that the President has respect for the electorate.

He knew that his fate lies in the hands of Almighty Allah and Nigerian voters, so this is the most auspicious time for Mr President to tell Nigerian masses and to afford his supporters enough time to campaign and inform Nigerians his achievements in office.

“There is no doubting the fact that President Buhari has done so well by bringing the country out of recession. He has raised the foreign reserves from $23b to $47b within a spate of three years.

“He has decimated the very frightening Boko Haram insurgents and corruption has reduced drastically. Today, Buhari has succeeded in institutionalizing anti-corruption war and now the fear of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC), is the beginning of wisdom.”

Faparusi urged politicians in APC to learn from President Buhari’s humility, by stopping taking the people for a ride while preparing for elections.

“Those who have occupied very lesser positions in this country had not even displayed the kind of respect President Buhari exhibited for Nigerians.

“We have seen many of these leaders delaying their declarations and kept people guessing , thereby putting the party into disarray just because of reliance on money and connections to bulldoze their ways”.

On Buhari’s position on the congresses of the party, Faparusi said: “PDP didn’t follow due process during their 16 years ignoble reign, that was why the party crashed in 2015 and we thank God that our party had decided to follow due process”.

PoliticsEkiti 2018: Fayose’s Government’ll Cease Day I Get APC Ticket by admox2003(op): 12:46pm On Mar 18, 2018
Daniel Adeleye On: March 18, 2018 In: Politics

As the race for the APC ticket in the forthcoming governorship election in Ekiti State hots up, one of the aspirants, Bamidele Faparusi, was recently received by the leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state as he formally inaugurated his campaign working team. Daniel Adeleye, who covered the event, reports

IT was a mammoth crowd of All Progressives Congress, APC, stalwarts, members, loyalists and lovers of Hon. Bamidele Faparusi who converged his Adebayo area Campaign office in Ado-Ekiti, to sheer and nudge him to victory as he inaugurated his working team headed by a former Majority Leader in Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Churchill Olubunmi Adedipe.

The train later moved to the Ajilosun end of the town where the APC state secretariat is located to meet party leaders who have been waiting to formally receive him and for him to remind them of his ambition to be the next governor of the state.

It would be recalled that Faparusi was the first APC governorship aspirant that made his intention known to the leaders of the party at the party’s secretariat in Ado-Ekiti way back in December, 2015.

A large crowd of supporters, indigenes trooped out in their hundreds to show solidarity for the Ode-Ekiti-born politician now in the race for the Oke Ayaba Government House. One of the issues that caught the attention of people at the event was the fact that Ekiti South Senatorial District has not occupied the state governor’s state since the creation of the state, 22 years ago.

The slogan ‘Itesiwaju Ekiti, Fappy ni o’ rented the air as artisans, students, market men and women thronged the popular Okesa road through Old Garage to Ajilosun APC Secretariat in the state, to show solidarity for the former federal lawmaker.

Business activities suffered a little hitch as many small business entrepreneurs closed shops while a chunk of the popular motorbike riders (Okada) abandoned commercial services to provide complimentary glamour to the colourful twin event with theatrical riding display.

At the party secretariat, the engineer-turned politician was warmly received by party stalwarts, led by State Deputy Chairman of APC, Kemi Olaleye.

The party leaders were full of praises as they all praised Faparusi and commended him for his contributions to the state and to Nigeria at large while he represented his people at the 7th National Assembly.

‘Fappy’ as he is fondly called by his supporters, said before he made up his mind to contest for Ekiti governorship seat, he got a divine revelation from Mark 10:44, which has been his driving principle.

He stressed that his coming out to contest for the position of governor of Ekiti State is a service to humanity, community and the state.

He told APC chieftains and his supporters that he has rolled up his sleeves to serve Ekiti people and liberate them “from the political vultures and their cohorts who have raped the state through misguided projects and policies.”

He also said the incumbent governor, Ayodele Fayose, would cease to be the governor of Ekiti State on the very day he gets the APC ticket to contest.

He cautioned his co-contestants in APC to emulate the former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the party, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who, according to him, “sacrificed his vice presidential ambition for party interest.”

He said south agenda is an issue in Ekiti beyond party interest, thus explaining why it was on the lips of electorates on the streets.

Faparusi also hinted on his administration’s four-point agenda tagged: “ATTT”, which stands for Agriculture, Technology, Trade and Tourism. He said he has looked at the potentials in Ekiti State and considered some that can be regarded as comparative advantages if diligently invested, adding that if they are made the economic base, Ekiti should be economically viable.

“We are going to translate our academic prowess which we are known for to create wealth and make life suitable for our people by bringing my entrepreneurship experience to the government.

“We’ll create technological base vocational training centres where our pupils can learn during holidays and we’ll also develop gifted schools across the state.

“We will harness the best brains and also provide opportunity for them to the benefit of the state. Not just give them the knowledge, we are going to imbibe the patriotism and invest in them so that in the future they can also come back and use their wealth of knowledge to develop the state.

“We need to provide platform and partner with international technological hubs across the world. We have the core value in America, Europe, Israel, China; we are going to partner with them to have an esteemed programme so that our children would be able to go over there and learn,” he said.

According to the aspirant, “Dubai started by developing ideas, and people came from Europe and America to invest in those ideas. So our job as a government would be to provide opportunity and great ideas that would attract people to come and invest in our tourism to showcase and promote our rolling hills where Ekiti derived its name to the world.”

‘Ekiti is strategically located between Lagos the commercial capital of Nigeria, and Abuja the political capital of Nigeria. We are going to provide facility where people can easily move their produce to the north, east, south and the west. And that will create job opportunity for our people and also improve the economy of the state,” he stressed.

But how would he source for fund to implement those gigantic projects considering the meagre monthly federal allocation going to the state, Faparusi noted that it’s not always money that should come first but great ideas.

As he puts it, “Dubai was only a desert some years back, and didn’t start its long term economy plan because they have big pocket, but they started by putting the ideas on the table”.

“I started my business with zero kobo, so we should be able to put our heads together and come up with the idea that will be lucrative to the world.

“If you want to make people unique, you need to first of all work on their mindsets. A slave who does not believe that he has been set free will continues to behave like a slave,” he explained.

Speaking on his support for Faparusi, the State Coordinator of ‘Fappy Movement’, Hon. Churchill Olubunmi Adedipe, said the former federal lawmaker stands out among other contestants as the most progressive minded politician who started his political career since the days of Alliance for Democracy (AD) as a Youth Leader, who has not jumped ship like many others who claimed to be members of progressive family.

Adedipe also observed that APC is a party that has a robust history and culture; and the party leaders should also look at the criteria to choose the flag bearer of the party in July governorship election in the state.

The former leader in Ekiti State House of Assembly, who described Faparusi as “epitome of transparency, accountability and accessibility,” said “it can only be better if a person like him is allowed to pilot the affairs of Ekiti State given his wealth of parliamentary experience married with entrepreneurial and managerial skills.”

On the influx of contestants under APC in Ekiti, Adedipe said “it’s a pointer that APC is alive and kicking.”

According to him, “The array of aspirants coming out in APC is a welcome development because it’s a pointer that the party is alive and kicking. No investor will like to put his or her money in a moribund business that has no prospect.

“Let every flower continue to blossom, at the appropriate time some will survive it while some will retrace their steps. I am not talking of APC as a political venture, but as a party that is alive and kicking, which informs the array of aspirants that we now have in APC,” he submitted.

PoliticsEkiti Guber Election Strategic To Buhari’s Second Term Bid, Says Ex-lawmaker by admox2003(op): 12:13pm On Mar 14, 2018
Victor Ogunje in Ado Ekiti

A member of the seventh House of Representatives, Hon. Bamidele Faparusi, has urged the members of the All Progressives Congress(APC) to be united and work hard to win the July 14 governorship election
in Ekiti state.

Faparusi said the governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun are very strategic to the reelection bid of President Muhammadu Buhari, saying winning the polls would pave way for the president to have an easy
ride to victory in the southwest.

The governorship aspirant , who hails from Ode Ekiti in Gbonyin local government area in Ekiti South senatorial district, said the party must comply with the ideals of democracy and fairness to realize the mission of reclaiming Ekiti from the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

Faparusi said these in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday while addressing members of the National Association of Nigerian Students(NANS) , who came to honour him for his meritorious service to the people.

The APC chieftain said : “Even,  President Buhari himself knew that Ekiti and Osun Elections are key to his second term bid and it is now left for the Chief John Oyegun-led National Working Committee to do the right thing by conducting free and fair primary , rather than imposing any aspirant.

“Let me say this, for APC to be able to convince Ekiti electorate, many things must be addressed. The party must show civility and respect for democracy by ensuring that internal democracy prevails in the primary.

“When President Buhari was sworn-in as the President, he gave the hope that he was coming to give justice and fairplay. This gave us hope that the issue of zoning that has generated so much controversies in Ekiti will be addressed.

“Since 1999, the Central and North senatorial districts have held-sway with each producing two governors each. The present Governor, Ayodele Fayose and Otunba Niyi Adebayo are from the Central while Dr Kayode Fayemi and Engr Segun Oni were from the North and I think it will be right and justiceable to concede the ticket to the south this time
around.

“In case our national leaders don’t know, zoning has become a serious issue in Ekiti today and that has been the only card being used by Governor Fayose to campaign for his deputy, Prof Kolapo Olusola, who is from the south.

“I want to believe that the outcome of the election might be disastrous should our party fails to pick his candidate from the South and this may affect our chances in 2019”, he warned.

Faparusi said youth empowerment in terms of employment generation through commercial agriculture , revamped tourism potential and payment of bursary to students will form the kernel of his government if elected.

“I was a student leader during my days at the Federal University of Technology , Akure , so I knew the value of bursary and scholarship to students. I will reform the state’s bursary and scholarship scheme to make life meaningful to the indigent students.

“I am an ardent believer in reward for excellence, the state government under me shall institute state awards for graduates and undergraduates who distinguish themselves in their academic careers.

“Reward for excellence will help in boosting the country’s standard of education apart from being a veritable instrument to eradicate cyber-crime fondly called yahoo-boys, political thuggery and robbery”, Faparusi said.

PoliticsDon’t Sell Your Future, Faparusi Tells Voters by admox2003(op): 3:11pm On Feb 16, 2018
Kamarudeen Ogundele, Ado Ekiti

A member of the seventh House of Representatives, Bamidele Faparusi, has appealed to the party’s delegates not to mortgage their future by selling their votes to the highest bidder.

According to him, experiences have shown vividly that those monetising politics had never turned out to be benefactors to the electorate.

Faparusi, an All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, gave the advice in his letter dated February 14 and addressed to all the APC delegates across  the 177 wards on the need to brainstorm on the coming primary.

“While thanking you in advance for your unflinching support, please be wary of political merchants who might want to come like a thief in the night to buy your conscience, steal your future and keep you perpetually enslaved,” he warned.

Faparusi urged them to note that fate had chosen them to be part of the people that would determine the future of Ekiti State for the next four years.

He maintained that he remained one of the most trusted allies of the party, who had been steadfast and tenacious as a progressive politician since the days of the Alliance for Democracy.

“I served my constituency and of course the party as a member of the House of Representatives between 2011 and 2015. I am presenting myself to serve you yet again as the next governor of Ekiti State.

“I have taken time to examine your criteria to choose the next governor for the state and I believe that I am among  the very few aspirants that meet all the standards if not the only aspirant.

“I understand that you want your next governor to have political experience without any baggage, my record as a member of the House of Representatives ranked best in the history of our state and that goodwill is a major impetus for me now.

“I also understand that you want a home-grown grass-roots politician who can genuinely understand and identify with you. You all know that I have always been in your midst through thick and thin.”

Faparusi said he was happy that among the criteria outlined by the party to pick its candidate was that such individual must be politically stable, saying he has always been displayed  unflagging loyalty to the party  since 1999.

He added, “I never dumped the party at any point in time unlike some of my contestants who have tasted different forbidden fruits by their past fraternities with the PDP, a party that was known to be egregiously corrupt.”

“Let me commend your determination and resolve to make sure that the next governor that will emerge from our party comes from Ekiti South Senatorial District. Dear delegates, I am from  Ode Ekiti, Gbonyin Local Government Area of Ekiti South.

“Let my experience in politics, business and government work for you, the party and our state. Let me also reassure you that I shall bring those experiences to bear to ensuring that critical stakeholders like you are allowed to take ownership of our dear party and the government we are to form.

“I thank you immensely again for the trust you reposed in me to lead you to the promise land at this year’s governorship election,’ he concluded.

PoliticsAPC Must Not Ignore Ekiti South Agitation ―faparusi by admox2003(op): 8:51am On Feb 06, 2018
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State and governorship aspirant, Mr Bamidele Faparusi, has warned that the party risked losing the contest if it fails to pick from its aspirants from the South Senatorial district of the state.
Faparusi, a member of the seventh National Assembly, who addressed newsmen while featuring at “My Agenda”, a programme by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti Council, noted that the agitation for a governor from the south district was active and must not be taken with kid’s gloves as the contest hots up.

He said the party must accept the zoning agitation by picking its candidate from the South senatorial district, which has not produced a governor of the state since 1999.

Faparusi held that the people of the Southern senatorial district of the state were already feeling shortchanged as the July 14 election approaches, hinting that with the emerging power rotation, the people were determined to vote against any party that jettisoned zoning in the election.

He said: “I believe so much in zoning not because I am from the south, but for the sake of equity, justice and fair play. Ekiti South people can’t be treated as second-class citizens in their own state. This is wrong, undemocratic and unacceptable.”

Reacting to a letter by former President Olusegun Obasanjo in which he X-rayed the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, Faparusi said the letter didn’t pass a verdict of failure on President Buhari.

According to him, “Obasanjo has inalienable right to assess the present government as an elder statesman. However, his observation on the happenings in the areas of economy and insecurity under this government didn’t connote that Buhari has failed Nigerians.”
He maintained that Buhari was doing well, saying “there is no magic President Buhari can perform with the level of corruption perpetrated under former President Goodluck Jonathan. He just has to re-strategise and rebuild, and that is exactly what he is doing.”

Unveiling his agenda, Faparusi promised to rebuild Ekiti’s economy through what he termed (ATT), meaning commercial agriculture, technological innovation and tourism.

He said: “Ekiti has a lot of mountains and prayer centres. We can build them into a global standard as spiritual tourist centres like we have in Israel and Saudi Arabia. The Ikogosi Warm Spring, Arinta Waterfall and the rolling Efon hills are other tourist potentials I will harness to make Ekiti the hub of economic growth in the South West.”

PoliticsAPC Endorses Faparusi As Consensus Candidate For Ekiti Governorship by admox2003(op): 2:16pm On Feb 01, 2018
Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Bamidele Faparusi, has been endorsed by his kinsmen for the 2018 governorship election
slated for July 14 in Ekiti State.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) members from the three wards inhis Ode Ekiti, headquarters of Gbonyin local Government area
countryhome reached the consensus at a meeting with the governorship aspirant held in the town on Tuesday.

The members, who are executives from the three wards , predicated their action on the enormous roles played by Faparusi in rebuilding
the party in the town since 2007 before Dr Kayode Fayemi assumed office as the governor and most importantly after losing the June 21,
2014 governorship election.

They praised the former lawmaker for not deserting the party and allowed members to suffer, unlike other aspirant who just decamp from
the PDP former Senate Chief Whip, Senator Gbenga Aluko.

Speaking on behalf of the members, the chairman of one of the wards Hon Clement Adeyemo, said they took the action so that the town and
Gbonyin local government won’t lose out in the APC primary electioncoming up inApril.

“We noticed that our aspirant, Hon Faparusi , has a brighter chance in the primary, having worked assiduously by reaching out to the
delegates in all the 177 wards , local government areas and even the local Council Development Areas(LCDAs).

“As much as we have a bright chance, we shouldn’t also bungle same by approaching the shadow election with a divided house. We have to put
our house in order and that we have done .

“Looking at the political trajectory of Hon Faparusi, one can infer that he has been a blessing not only to Ode Ekiti but Ekiti in general. When he was in the House of Representatives, he empowered more than 5,000 youth while the elderly were not left out.

“As the parliamentarian representing Gbonyin/Ekiti East/Emure federal constituency, he instituted legacy projects like ICT centre in Emure,
Omuo , Ode and Ilasa Ekiti. He opened a Library in Omuo Ekiti that has become a veritable academic ground for students who are preparing for
WAEC, NECO and JAMB examinations.

“Rather than for our youth to be taking to crime, the empowerment has kept them busy and this we want Hon Faparusi to replicate across
Ekiti which we believe will be of enormous benefit to Ekiti at large”, he said.

Faparusi, who commended the party members for the endorsement, said he would strive hard to ensure that the governorship ticket comes to
Gbonyin local government.

The APC chieftain added that he owes it a duty as a leader to continue to work for the people, saying : “leadership is about selflessness and not personal aggrandizement, is for collective benefit.

“I have dedicated myself to the service of humanity and on that I will stand forever. Let me also say unequivocally, this endorsement conveyed a strong message of love and this will rededicate me to continually serve you.

“We are not seeking this ticket for the fun of it, we are determined to get it and win the main election, so that we can put smiles on your
faces. We can’t allow Ekiti to continue to languish in poverty as being witnessed under Governor Ayodele Fayose.

“We must constitute ourselves into a potent force that can rescue our people from the throes of economic deprivation and wanton neglect.

“What I want to do is to radicalize the agriculture through commercial farming that will be majorly financed by government and private bodies, set up a robust scholarship scheme for tertiary education up to the PhD level, free education at primary and secondary cadres, Social Security for the elderly, free health services for the poor and infant , ensuring safety of lives and property, jobs for unemployed youths , running of all-inclusive government , ensuring operation no potholes on city and inter-state roads, among others.

“All these landmark projects are what I intend to do, and we can achieve these seemingly uphill tasks with your votes, prayers and
supports”, he said.

PoliticsEx-nurtw Murder: Faparusi Hails Judiciary , Wants Case Re-investigated by admox2003(op): 11:35am On Jan 31, 2018
Victor Ogunje in Ado Ekiti

A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Bamidele Faparusi, has saluted the judiciary for displaying independence and freed the accused persons in the murder case instituted over the death
of the late Chairman of the National Union of Road Transporters workers, Chief Omolafe Aderiye.

Faparusi said the judiciary deserved commendations in view of alleged high-wired politicking and manipulations that characterized the case, leading to the arrest and incarceration of some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress(APC).

Omolafe, a close ally of Governor Ayodele Fayose, was killed by unknown assailants on September 25, 2014 within the heart of Ado Ekiti metropolis.

Subsequently, some APC stalwarts , including Chief Niyi Adedipe, Mr. Adebayo Aderiye, Sola Durodola, Kayode Ajayi, Oso Farotimi, Sola Adenijo and Rotimi Olanbiwonnu, who are card-carrying members of the opposition were arrested and had since then been imprisoned .

But delivering his judgement on Monday, Justice Ogunmoye , said the state government failed vehemently to prove the case of murder against the accused persons beyond reasonable doubt, thereby dismissing the case and pronounced them discharged and acquitted.

Reacting to the judgement, Faparusi called on the Inspector General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris to reinvestigate the matter , so that the demise of the late transporter won’t be in vain.

Fapausi said the case shouldn’t die a natural death just because the accused persons have been freed, saying revelations that some notable allies of Governor Fayose made alleged spirited efforts to substitute the original statements made by the accused persons and replaced with concocted ones was an evil intention that must be brought to justice.

The APC governorship aspirant urged the Inspector General of Police to invite the immediate past Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ekiti, Mr. Owoseeni Ajayi, to explain what actually transpired by way of giving explanations why the state could not advance credible evidence against the accused persons despite its immeasurable interest in the murder.

“It is no longer news that the accused persons were implicated to face criminal prosecution and probably go to jail by the government of Mr Fayose just to get them out of circulation because of their enormous political relevance in Ekiti.

“There were revelations that some aides of the governor forced the police to change the original statements of these innocent people and replaced with ones that were implicating, that was a nefarious and criminal act that must be investigated by the police and the DSS.

“Let me state clearly that the matter shouldn’t be allowed to end here, I advise those implicated to proceed to court to get justice.

“No one can feign ignorance of the fact that those concerned must have lost valuable property and had their lives traumatized throughout the three and half years they were put in the gulag over offence they knew
nothing about .

“There are two issues here now that are begging for justice. One, the victims, having been pronounced prisoners of conscience must seek justice and claim damages from the government for allowing them to be so incarcerated for long.

“Two, the matter must be reinvestigated , so that the real people behind the dastardly killing can be apprehended and made to face the full weight of the law for Nigeria is not in an Hobbesian state where lives are brutish, cruel and wicked.

“Nigeria is operating a constitutional democracy which places high premium on the sanctity of human lives and Aderiye’s death must not be allowed to go the way of the late Chief Bola Ige, Chief Harry Marshall and other politically-motivated killings in Nigeria”. Herdsmen Killings: Ex-Federal Lawmaker Begs Governors to Embrace Cow Colonies .Dismisses alleged Buhari's support for killers

Victor Ogunje in Ado Ekiti

As the killings by marauding herdsmen continued across some states unabated , a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC),  has appealed to the governors not to frustrate the federal government’s plan to establish cow colonies in the 36 states of the federation.

Faparusi, a former member of the House of Representatives , bemoaned the killings in Benue, Taraba, Adamawa and few other states in recent time, describing the situations as not only pathetic but tragic .

The APC governorship aspirant in Ekiti State commiserated with President Muhammadu Buhari, the Benue State Governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom and the entire Nigerians on these senseless killings , he said was fast becoming a pogrom.

The federal government had last week after the Benue’s gruesome killings proposed the establishment of cow colonies in all the states, which governors Ayodele Fayose(Ekiti), Okezie Ikpeazu(Abia), Samuel Ortom(Benue) and many others had stoutly rejected.

In a statement in Ado Ekiti on Saturday , Faparusi said governor’s rejection of the proposed cow colonies may exacerbate the murderous activities of these killers across the country.

“Cow colonies remain a potent weapon to really cage these vampires. It remains a good option to restrict the herders, monitor them and make it easy for governments to get their accurate data bank for effective identification of their personalities.

“The reason why it has been an herculean task for the security agencies to track  the killers has been that they were itinerant herders. They have no base and their identities could not be ascertain.

“With  the colonies , it will be easy for the government  at all levels to monitor the herdsmen. This will build communal  relationship between the herders and land owners, even farmers .

“Let me also say, this country is losing several billions of  its dairy potentials daily, because the itinerant herdsmen pay little attentions to milk production .

“This policy  will help in boosting our economic gains in animal husbandry sector and stop  unnecessary carnage being witnessed  in our national history”, he said.

Faparusi, also described as a misdirected venom,  sarcastic comments ascribed  to some chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, including former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode and former Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr Mike Omokri, branding the president a failure over Benue killings.

Faparusi added that as much as he was averse to  senseless killings of innocent Nigerians under any guise , he stated that President Buhari didn’t give any overt or tacit supports to these  suspected Fulani herdsmen.

He said it was wrong and equally  flies in the face of commonsense for politicians to hide under the  cloak of opposition to criticize a performing government destructively.

He urged the PDP to appreciate Buhari’s efforts in the areas of wars against corruption, insecurity and bailouts, paris club funds and budget support funds  being released to states to ease salary payment.

“Not even a despot like Saddam Hussein, Idi Amin Dada and Sanni Abacha will be happy seeing innocent citizens being mowed down by senseless people, so President Buhari was not complicit in any form.

“This issue remains a national calamity and we should all join hands together to combat it”, Faparusi advised.

PoliticsBuhari’s Appointment, Catalyst To My Governorship Ambition- Faparusi by admox2003(op): 10:46am On Jan 02, 2018
A governorship aspirant and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Hon Bamidele Faparusi, has declared that his recent appointment into the federal board by President Muhammadu Buhari will help in boosting his governorship ambition in Ekiti State in 2018.

Faparusi said the fact that Buhari considered him for such a national assignment attested to his popularity within the party, urging his teeming followers and  the Itesiwaju political Movement to see this appointment as  a catalyst needed to propel the much desired  Ekiti Project.

“I was greeted with the good news of my appointment  on the Board of The National Animal products Research Institute Zaria,  by  our President, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR

“I considered myself privileged to be offered  this appointment among a multitude of qualified loyal party members in the state and by extension, the country .
“We must not relent in our efforts to win the forthcoming APC governorship primary and  make sure win  it resoundingly”, he said.

Faparusi, had while reacting to his appointment in a statement in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, said Ekiti has never benefited from any federal appointments like the ones being presently enjoyed under Buhari ,where
24 prominent Ekiti indigenes had  been offered federal appointments in one swell swoop since the advent of democracy in 1999.

The APC chieftain urged  the people to reciprocate the gesture by reclaiming the State for APC in 2018 and the next year presidential election.

“I therefore thank Mr President for this appointment which  I considered  a recognition of my consistent and long standing service to our great party.

“ I am indeed grateful for this opportunity to render  service to our fatherland I respectfully and humbly accept this call to National service without  reservation”.

Faparusi, however, told the President that his stay  at the institute might be shortlived  taking cognizance  of his governorship aspiration, assuring that his stint  at the institute will be memorable and historical, by being industrious, transparent and innovative to turn around the fortunes of the institute.

“Mr President, be rest assured that I will work tirelessly with my eyes on the goals and my heart committed to the course.

“The process leading to your decision has been a lengthy one. The successful conclusion of that process owes much to  thousands of my followers, friends, business associates and well wishers particularly for  their outpouring  of congratulatory and goodwill messages since the appointment was made public.

“Let me also and most importantly appreciate my leaders whose influences helped in facilitating the  this appointment , Prof Modupe Adelabu , my mother and former  Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Asiwaju Segun Oni , the Deputy National Chairman of our great party, Dr John Kayode Fayemi, Hon Minister of Solid mineral , and finally the Omoluabi  of EkitiLand,  Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo and  others  too numerous to mention but are  acknowledged for displaying generosity of love”.
