this idiot delinquent thinks an article is the same as essay writing. I consulted different pages and newspapers to come up with that article. If you don't know the first thing about writing an article, why don't u Google it or look it up on Wikipedia. Okay, I think I should take this shii on a whole different level. I ain't ur average nigga, don't tread where dragons fear to step on.

Culture / 3things You Must (or Should) Always Have With You In Nigeria. by Adrianpastol(m): 3:49pm On Jan 13, 2016
Hello all, hope you are having a great day?

This is one of those piece I write out of request, and I had a really thrilling and hilarious time when running the research work for this; you should hear the answers people gave to the question: NAME 3 THINGS YOU MUST ALWAYS HAVE ON YOU WHEN GOING? (One answered without hesitating, MY CV; still laughing)

Well, the 3 things on my list may probably shock you but some of the major issues put into consideration before writing this are basic needs, emergency situations, environment (in this case, Nigeria), the working systems, safety etc.

The 3 things you must always have with you when going out are things that can save your life; they are:

1. AN IDENTITY CARD: No matter where you are going, far or near. You should always have an ID card on you, this is like a basic necessity and can be a great use. The ID should have as a basic requirement, your full name, some form of contact address and your picture. This can really save you from been implicated during a crises (Remember, "I no follow" money don increase now)

2. A MOBILE PHONE: The importance of this and its value has greatly increased over the years, to the extend that even Kids now carry mobile phones and this has its advantages. When going out you should always have your phone with you as it can even safe your life, or help rescue you from the craziest situations (like if you get stranded after knocking down an old yoruba woman's tomatoes with no money on you. Lol...)

But carrying a phone is not really enough. In the case of an accident that leaves you unconscious, and your phone becomes the only means of communicating your family, it doesn't help if your phone is locked. The habit of locking phones with codes or patterns may in this case do more harm than do. I strongly recommended you stop locking your phone as it may safe you life one day (Besides, a locked phone does not really stop the thieves from stealing and selling them as they can easily unlock them.)

Another factor to consider as regards phones after making it accessible is making it useful, directing the founder towards who to call.

If someone finds your phone and needs to contact someone, how would he know who to call from your contact list? This leads to the question, HAVE YOU ICE-D YOUR PHONE? Ever phone should be ICE-d; this simply means saving a particular contact on your phone with the letters ICE before the contact name e.g ICE Micheal, ICE Dad, ICE Tunde etc. This direct one towards who to call "in case of emergency"

3. A BLOOD CARD: This is the third thing you should always have on you when you go out, and yes this can really save your life. If one is traveling and gets involved in a fatal accident which leads to been rushed to the hospital unconscious with great loss of blood, to the extend that blood has to be given to the victim immediately, knowing certain details about the patient blood can save a lot of time and life. In Nigeria for example we lack the data-base that can grand the practitioners easy access to these information in other to act fast thus your blood card can do the magic.

A blood card should have the following details: Full name, ABO blood group, Rhesus factor, and genotype. You can get a blood card from a licensed laboratory.

Those are the 3 things you should have on you when going out, thanks for reading. You can share your thoughts and comments below, and yes. DON'T FORGET TO SHARE, YOU MAY JUST BE SAVING A LIFE.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Five Steps To Save Your Child From Falling Into The Traps Of Unemployment by Adrianpastol(m): 10:32am On Mar 18, 2015
Adrianpastol:
Unemployment is continually on the raise in country across the world, and here in Nigeria people see no hopes of the conditions changing for the better, rather it is believed to only get worst. The reasons and causes of unemployment is a topic for another day as I am sure we are all more concerned with how we can save ourselves from the frustrating situations rather than the causes which are to a large extend obvious. (am sure you can think of 3 reasons already)

So how can we save ourselves from this epidemics and make sure our children don't fall victims?

I have arrange a five steps process that if followed while bringing up your child can guarantee his success in life, weather the economy and job creation improves or not.

STEP 1: Instill the proper morals in your child
Studies have shown that children accept with deep attachments and sentiments the things he/she learns between the ages of 1-12years. They hold strongly to the words and actions of their parents/guardians, it is at this stage that you sow the seeds that will grow. Make sure you give the best you can in morals to your child at this stage.

STEP 2: Train your child to be focus, decisive and independent
Those 3 factors builds a responsible successful individual. Helping them to be focus means little or no abandoned projects and goals, they become go-getters and achievers but be very careful with limits, a child has to also learn to know when to stop; your job as a parent is to guide and support.

STEP 3: Give your child the freedom to choose
This is so so so important for not just success, but happiness. Unfortunately, it is also a major cause of the unemployment problem and a popular routine for parent. A man with 3 kids already has their future vocation spelled out for them, one doctor, one lawyer and one engineer. Wake up sir, that is your dream but may not necessarily be the dream of the child. A child with love to be an artist but forced to be a doctor may not go far in the career even if he succeeds, he/she will definitely not be contempt or happy, and you may have deprived the world of its greatest artist. Allow the child limited freedom of choice and trust in the morals you have taught him to make the right decisions.

STEP 4: Make sure your child acquires a skill
After secondary (High) school, one of the best gifts you can give you child is a skill. enroll him/her to learn a skill of both your choosing (study him/her and find things he may good at and love, offer him some options but its important you let the child decide on one). Now am not talking about basic computer knowledge, that is a basic in our today's world, am talking of handy skill like tailoring, catering, hairdressing, graphics etc. even a business school education is not a bad choice. This skill can be vital fall-back if after schooling, there are no available jobs. At least the child will not be entire jobless and dependent. The same skill can even prove useful during school, but you must make the learning process be about knowledge and not money.

STEP 5: Explore the idea of a family venture
Nothing beats owing your own business, no matter the size and your child can actually have something to fall to when unemployed. when on holidays encourage them to help, this builds their knowledge and interest in the business.

That is, and I do hope it is helpful. If you have other suggestions, questions or comment please feel free to comment below. BEST OF LUCK.

Business / VERIFIED: Over 60 Hot Small Businesses You Can Start With Less Than N50, 000 by Adrianpastol(m): 6:36am On Mar 06, 2015
No long stories, am going to get right to it and I assure U this is one trend that can change your life.

CHIN-CHIN MAKING
This is a home based business you can start with less than
20,000 naira, aside the cost of packaging. The first step is to
learn how to make tasty chin-chin from a professional and
then you can start from your home. Potential market includes
schools, buses, traffic hold-ups, churches, stadium,
supermarkets etc. of course, you don’t necessarily have to sell
it yourself.
SMALL CUP CAKES
This is a big treat at events and supermarkets and with as
little as 25,000naira you can be in business. But you do need
know how to prepare very good ones first.
PLANTIAN CHIPS
This has a very high market potential as the sales of chips
especially in traffics is very lucrative. Some people sell as
much as 5,000 packets of plantain chips daily at 100naira
each. Now even if you were gaining just one naira per pack
which is not really possible, that’s five thousand naira a day.
How many graduates earn that high?
BANANA CHIPS
Almost the same as plantain chips
POPCORN BUSINESS
Now this is one lucrative business a lot of people are already
harnessing, the major equipment you need is a pop-corn
machine which you can even move to event locations.
When well packaged, you can even use the same methods as
“3”
ICE CREAM BUSINESS
Yes, you can actually start this business with less than
50,000naira and work your way up
COOKIE PRODUCTION
CAKE MAKING BUSINESS
Now this is no child’s play, cake decorations come with a lot
of business opportunities and rewards but you have to be
really good in the profession. If you have good passion for it,
you might even become a millionaire. Getting good training for
this is where the pain lies.
SMACK MAKING BUSINESS
The business is very easy to start and can be lucrative
. BREAD MAKING BUSINESS
Same as 8
. SOAP MAKING BUSINESS
Soap is an essential commodity in every home and as such,
people will pay you good money if your saop is very good. Get
the necessary training required and you are on your way.
. LIQUID SOAP PRODUCTION
Same as 11
. DETERGENT PRODUCTION
Same as 11
. CHALK MAKING BUSINESS
This has been greatly neglected, despite its high demand and
usage. You don’t even require too much technical know-how.
With a simple chalk mould and a couple of additional
equipments, you can get started in the business
. CANDLE MAKING BUSINESS
Did you know that every year over 200million candles sticks
are used in Nigeria alone, let alone the bigger picture, Africa? I
must also inform you that more than 70% of that is imported
from China. Unbelievably with just 50,000naira you can start
your own candle stick business that can grow to great heights
using good marketing skills.
. RODENT KILLERS BUSINESS
This also has good market potentials
. INSECTICIDE PRODUCTION
Same as 16
. PAINT-MAKING BUSINESS
There is no major difference between the home made paints
and the ones sold in the market, and the startup capital is
very low. With a good practical paint making training, you are
on your way.
. POLISH PRODUCTION
This is another business you can start with little capital, the
raw materials are in abundance and you can get the packaging
needs from manufacturing companies.
. GUM PRODUCTION
This has a wide variety of uses, making it highly needed. The
world over, a need equals opportunity, but you need to get the
training first.
. COLD WATER STARCH PRODUCTION
This is still new in the African market and the demand is high.
. CAR WASH LIQUID PRODUCTION
Same as “21”
. AIR FRESHENER PRODUCTION
This is another good money making business that can be
started from home and the startup cost is also very little.
. PRODUCTION OF CARBON BLACK
Carbon black is made from used tires and is used in most
breweries and water filter companies.
. SHAVING POWDER PRODUCTION
This does not even require an expensive machine, but you
need good training.
. CHOCOLATE DRINK MAKING
Same as “30”
. YOGURT MAKING
Same as “30”
. SOYA MILK DRINK
Same as “30”
. FRIUT JUICE
Same as “30”
. ZOBO DRINK
(Zobo is a popular drink originating from northern Nigeria)
This is one business that even your neighbor can be your
customers and it’s highly lucrative. It does not cost much to
produce and believe it or not, many people have actually
become rich from this business.
You just have to be really good at it and apply good
packaging, the rest is marketing.
. CUSTARD POWDER
There are many brands of custard today in the market and
many of them started as a home based business. You can
even teach yourself the process of making it from manuals or
the internet and startup with very little.
Your small business can get you rich
. MAKING KUNU DRINK
Same as “30”
. SNAIL REARING MANAGEMENT
With as little as 40,000naira you can start this business in
your very own backyard and grow from there. Snails eat non-
chlorine foods we throw away from the kitchen. They can also
feed on certain leaves like the pawpaw leaf, fruits, pineapple
peels etc. making them very cheap to rear and if properly
managed, can generate a lot of revenue.
. POULTRY KEEPING
People call this the double edged profit business, as you can
make money by selling both the chickens and the eggs they
produce. Even the chicken dung can be sold to farmers as
fertilizers, but to get started and succeed in this business you
need detailed training.
. CATFISH REARING
Point and kill restaurants can tell you better. Mr Moses Osawe,
Md/CEO of Dynamo Catfish Farms in Egbeda, Lagos Nigeria is
a typical case of small business turn mega million. With just
about 40,000naira, you can start this business and grow from
there.
. FISH FEED PRODUCTION
People in the fish farming business must feed their fish and
remember, where there is a need, there is money to be made.
. POULTRY FEED PRODUCTION
Same as 36
. CATFISH FINGERLINGS PRODUCTION
An average fingering cost between 15-25 naira each and a
pair of good brood stock catfish can product as much as
10,000 pieces of fingering per time. Do the maths
. BEE KEEPING
Now when you talk about a five star money making, stress
free business, bee keeping is your answer, little or no work
needed as they care for their selves, every product of a bee is
valuable and cost money. All you need to do is learn the trade
and find a good quite, flowering environment, your startup
capital cannot exceed 30,000naira for one hive (but it can be
dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing)
. HONEY THERAPY BUSINESS
This is like learning to be a doctor, but easier and really
lucrative.
. WORM PRODUCTION
Not very pleasing to the ears but very pleasing to the pocket
. SHEEP FARMING AND MANAGEMENT
In the northern parts of many African countries, this is an
already well known trade and can be both demanding and
lucrative.
. GOAT FARMING
I smile and think of my village when I see this, but I can also
think of how much one goat cost.
. PIG FARMING
Same as 43
. EDIBLE MUSHROOM CULTIVATION
5 star hotels do not joke with this and demands are very high,
but you need proper training and product packaging which
may cost money in the long run
. RECRUITMENT AGENCY
This is the one of the cheapest business in the world, and also
one of the oldest. Just find the right field that suits your
interest and be a middle man between clients and workers. All
you may need in this modern world is a reachable contact
address which can be online.

Business / 5 Really Bad Habits Of Financially Successful People by Adrianpastol(m): 11:34am On Feb 06, 2015
Let’s start by getting it right. These are not just bad habits, these are really bad habits; and they are not
simple bad cultures but really bad habits that actually contributes greatly to their financial success. If you
ever need to learn a few bad habits, take your pick from this list.
1. They associate closely with people of their class and interest.
You must have heard of the expression “birds of a feather flock together” –TRUE. But have you heard of
the law of associate that states “you can never rise above the level of the 6 closest people to you” now I
don’t know if you agree with that law but you agree with me that financially successful people live strongly
by this rule. Let me break their thoughts down for you, if you want to start-up a business in telephone and
computer marketing, would you rather hang out with someone Nnamdi Ezeigbo (CEO of Slots) or a young
man who is just trying to survive in Trade fair (Lagos) selling recharge cards?
I thought so…
2. They plan ahead.
This one bad habit on my list that can also pass for good. Financially successful people are good at
keeping to-do-list; and as much as they can, they avoid spontaneous actions. They know with preciseness
exactly where they hope and plan to be in their future and work towards it. They know the industry they
want to belong, where they want to partake etc. DO YOU?
3. They budget their expenses
In line with bad habit #2, there are also no spontaneous expenses except on life circumstances.
Financially successful people are highly disciplined people. Think of when you approach a rich man for
support, probably an amount you expect he/she can afford to give you without stress and you know it but
he ask you to come back at a later date. Yep! You have just been placed on the next month’s budget.
4. They hold on strongly to their major believes
You know how they see their future and pursue it, that pursuit is almost like a ritual where nothing is
more important. Their goals tops priorities and they can even quit a well-paying job, abandon their families
or give up on love to pursue it. That zeal takes them where they want to go.
5. They are relatively selfish.
Financial successful people learnt the secret of the richest man in Babylon (you should read the book)
early enough to make it a bad habit –THEY PAY THEIR SELVES FIRST. Their interest always comes first
before anyone else. You can them greedy but in reality, they are keeping their eyes on the goal. Steve Jobs
abandoning his pregnant girlfriend to keep focus is an example.
There you have it, my top 5 really bad habits of financially successful people, try relating them
to some successful people you know but do me a favour first, comment your thoughts and tell us which of
these really bad habits you will prefer to have.
Get Inspired Today.

Romance / MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR VALENTINE PLANS by Adrianpastol(m): 5:56am On Feb 03, 2015
It is the day of love or rather, a day for lovers; February 14th, better and universally known as St. Valentines’ day, everyone was in high spirits and wearing a huge smile, especially the girls, this was the first thing I noticed when I stepped out of my house this morning, and as I entered the school premises I could feel the atmosphere grow, probably because the girls, especially the seniors were expecting gifts from friends most especially those with boyfriends and the guys, well I wasn’t sure if they were all happy or what they were expecting.
This joy did not include me, for me this was a day of great pain, for me this was the genesis of my problems, the origin of the world stereotyping me a failure, a disappointment, a disgrace… I can probably go on but I will only end up getting you more confused.
It was lunch break and I had walked to one of the school café to get some snacks with a bottle of mineral and I had been sitting here for about five minutes when he walked up to me. I was lost in my own thoughts of how my near perfect world had turned upside down with-in a year. I remembered, it was about a month before valentine last year when he approached me, Michael was one of the most handsome guy in my area if not the most –I knew he was to me, he had asked me to be his girlfriend and although I was shy, I was not going to say no. our romance was sweet and the day he asked me to be his valentine, in my vision could be compared to prince William asking Kate to marry him. I was in heaven, so when he told me what he wanted for valentine, it only increased my excitement. All my friends had already done it and I could not wait to tell my own experience.
He took my virginity that evening, and although I was told about the pain and its sweetness, I was not told I could feel empty later, that was exactly a year ago. Lost in the joy and pleasure of sweet sex, we did it every chance we got, then it happened. When I told him I was pregnant, it was like a dream turn nightmare. I never knew love could disappear as quickly as it had appeared. He denied me completely, now, did I mention that he was five years older than me and I was only sixteen, it was third term in class five but he was already in the university, one of the things that gave spark to my crush, for not many secondary (High) school girls had an undergraduate boyfriend.
I was in a state of complete confusion and did not know what to do, one of my crazy friends suggested an abortion but I was not going to do it, not just because I was scared but also because I believe it to be murder, and that was a road I was not going to walk.
I could not tell my mom because I did not know how to face my dad, but she was an African mother. So when she called me that night, and sat me down, I had begun to cry before she even asked the question. I was given the beaten of my life that night and when my drunk father came back home, it was round two for me.
That was the beginning of a new life for me and in all honesty, I never knew this life existed. My father stopped providing money for anything that concerned me and since I could not produce the boy responsible who had suddenly disappeared, it only made matters worse. My mom, who although kept providing and took care of me did not let go of any chance to tell me how much of a failure and disgrace I was to the family, I don’t know where I got the strength from but I was determined to finish my schooling.
When it became public that I was pregnant, it was like the star had suddenly fallen, my friends put me out of their circle, saying they were ashamed to walk with me and that I was not smart enough to know what to do. I usually did not go a day without having a boy approach me, but not anymore, they all walked passed me now and I could tell I was the topic of every group. My pain knew no bounds, but the worse I felt was when I over-heard my favourite teacher talking with some others in the staff room, they called me a disappointment, they said I was good-for-nothing and they did not know why I still came to school, tears flowed down my eyes when my favourite called me a no-good-pretender.
I am now six months pregnant and in class six, my only support and the one person that encourages me is my pastor. I was never really sure why, but my only explanation is that he is a man of God and has no other choice; I had already been suspended, and it took his intervention to get me back to school. Although my father had calmed down, he still pays me no attention, my friends –sorry, I mean those I thought were my friends are still very far from me and sometimes am not sure if we were ever friends or if it was just my imagination.
So now I look around me on my one year anniversary and I wonder who is next.
“Where are you?” he said, bringing me back to reality, “am sorry, what do you mean?” I asked, “You are here, but your mind is far away” –Oh! Am sorry” was all I could reply –“you don’t have to apologize to me, you did nothing.” He was right, I had grown timid over time, and apologizing at every turn, weather it was needed or not.
He sat down beside me and smiled, that type of smile was one I had not felt in a long time, it was genuine. I was very surprise too that he could come sit close to me, let alone talk or smile at me.
“May I ask you why?” –“Why what?” I replied, “Why did you choose to keep it, I mean the pregnancy?”
-No one had ever asked me that before, not my father who no longer talks to me, not my mother who feels I have now become a burden, not my siblings, although nothing really changed between us; not my teachers, the greatest pretenders I know, not my boyfriend and father of my coming baby, whom I had not heard from since he left, not even my pastor and only friend. But here, a boy I am not sure I even know his name, although I know he had tried to be my friend back when I was still a star in my own world, and I was not sure what to answer.
He must have noticed I was getting lost again, and broke the silence, “never mind, happy valentine” he said and I gave him a fake smile, he gave me the black nylon bag he was holding which I never really noticed till now. Surprised, I opened it and saw a wrapped box inside, I picked out the envelope that accompanied it and brought out the card, it was customised, and read

To the Perfect valentine,
You are exceptional and special, you are unique, we may not be close in that way but I still wish we could be friends.
Happy Valentine
Beautiful Sara

I looked up with tears in my eyes, he smiled at me and said, “Not every girl can do what you did, keeping that baby makes you courageous and strong; It show how beautiful you are, not just on the outside, I want you to know that some of us admire you for it, I guess I will see you later” he got up and left.
I said nothing, not even a thank you, I was too shocked to speak, I was breaking down inside, tears freely flowing and for the first time in six months, I felt proud.

Literature / A short story by AdrianPastol. (A MUST READ) by Adrianpastol(m): 5:30am On Feb 03, 2015

Nairaland / General / The Rocky Balboa Story (holding On To Your Dreams) by Adrianpastol(m): 5:38am On Jan 31, 2015
The life story of Sylvester Stallone. ………………………..
Here it goes From nobody to Super Duper Star

This is one of the MOST MOTIVATIONAL life stories I have come across.

Sylvester Stallone is one the most famous American Movie stars.. With characters like Rocky and Rambo he is a household name in the hearts of millions. During birth, a wrong gynaecological procedure caused Stallone to have one sided paralysis. At school, his middle class being and his facial paralysis became a thing for others to make fun off.
He joined body-building because he wanted to frighten those who bullied him. Slowly he started thinking of a career in movies While struggling to get a role, he even started in a soft-core porn movie.

Around 1974, he had a pregnant wife, a dog that he loved a lot, a lot of bills to pay and no success in his movie career. What he still had was a belief in his dream that he will make it big. Soon a time came when he went broke. He was heavily under debt. Restless, anxious, stressed and still loaded with hope that he will make it big. Things got so bad that he had sell his wife’s jewelry and ended homeless. Sleeping at the New York Bus station for 3 days. The cold American winter forced him to choose between electricity and his dog. He stood outside a local store and sold his dog for $25.

Two weeks later, on TV he watched a boxing match between Mohammed Ali and Chuck Wepner. That match was like a flash of divine inspiration… For the next 20 hours he sat and wrote the script of what today is a cult movie, ROCKY. In the words of stallone himself, “After nearly 1500 rejections”, he got a production house to offer $125,000 for the script. Despite the poverty, pains, pregnant wife and lost dog… His dream was to STAR in the movie has the MAIN LEAD. In an era when hero’s were common man and spoke fluently, a body builder with a facial paralysis that made him stammer while speaking.. Made Stallone the wrong choice for any role. The studio Bluntly rejected his offer… And Stallone went back home with another failure. A few weeks later, the studio offered him $250,000 for the just the script, and not him. He refused. Soon they offered $350,000 for the script but not him. At that time everyone was pushing him to accept.. It would be MAD not to do so.. He was making a fortune. He still refused. Someone in the studio really loved his script, and as fortune favours the brave.. They finally accepted to $35,000 for the script and him as the lead star. The rest as they say is history! The movie was made for $1 million and went to make around $200 million. It won the Oscar for Best Picture, Best Directing and Best Film Editing. Stallone was a “bankable” hero for the next 20yrs, till the late 90’s… with his movie having made billions of dollars. And what did he do with the first $35,000?

He stood outside the liquor store were he sold his dog for 3 days. Identified the man who had bought it, and finally got him back for $15,000.

MORAL –
NEVER LET THE HOPE GO AWAY.
NEVER STOP DREAMING.
KNOW WHAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OFF…
DON’T DREAM SOMETHING THAT’S ABSURD..
HAVE A REALISTIC DREAM BASED ON WHAT YOU CAN DO.
MAKE SURE ITS A VALID DREAM…
AND THEN BELIEVE IN THE DREAM.
LOVE THE DREAM.
LOVE YOURSELF FOR THE DREAM.
TIMES WILL BE BAD..
REALLY BAD…
YOU MIGHT BE WITHOUT A JOB.
YOU MIGHT BE LIVING ON CREDIT CARDS.
YOUR RELATIONSHIPS MIGHT BE DESTROYED.
YOUR LOVED ONES MIGHT WALK AWAY FROM YOUR LIFE.
PEOPLE WILL MAKE FUN OF YOU.
YOU CAN GET EVERYTHING BACK… JOB, FAMILY, FRIENDS, RESPECT..
BUT BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND YOUR CAPACITIES.

AND IN THE WORDS OF ROCKY BALBOA –

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!”

Politics / Re: Buhari Vs Jonathan: Beyond The Election By Charles Soludo by Adrianpastol(m): 8:43am On Jan 26, 2015
CCsurplus007:
Now this is what I have been telling my friends, tell us what you want to do and how you intend doing it not some public charade of lies and deception. When we have thousands of intellectuals to choose from, I wonder what we should still be doing with someone still arguing about his secondary school certificate. May God deliver Nigeria

But prof, someone reading this piece would imagine we were living in El-Dorado during obj's tenure. One would have assumed OBJ was pope john paul or the messiah.why was the railway not working during your tenure? despite the huge sums injected into the power sector yet phcn failed. Why wasnt any of our university among the best 200 then? rather Obj built personal libraries and universities to his name. All federal Government projects in the east was stopped or frustrated.what of the monopolistic approach of Obj when only Dangote was allowed to import anything and frustrated other peoples businesses that were opposed to him.since the agricultural sector was better during obj's tenure why dint it add to our foreign reserves and massive corruption in that sector was still rife. what about the haliburton and other numerous scandals. Soludo did not tell us that increasing workers salary then affected our recurrent expenditure now.

The thing is anybody can come and reel out figures as if it paradise during thier own era. This is a nice presentation but not without some personal bias I still think both parties can learn a lot from this if they objectively look at the salient points raised.

may your days b long on earth.

Before going to bed, I had to eat something. I
opened the fridge and yes, all the things in my
fridge
had turned to block; the light had been on for
8 years without going off. I finished eating and
went to
bed. Oh I have to reduce the speed of this fan,
the voltage is so high. I woke up very early in
the morning
to the sound O̶̲̥̅̊f̶̲̥̅̊ classical music.
I casually strolled into the bathroom. Oh! the
cold is too much this morning, I turned on The
hot-water
tap. While toweling myself dry, I turned on the
radio and heard the presenter speaking about
Nigeria, how
she is now one of the most developed
countries in the world and how the Nigerian
president
yesterday declared his asset and all he had to
boast of was N20 million naira and a duplex in
his village. I
finished dressing up and took my time to eat. I
had no reason to rush, after-all the roads are
always free
and there are no potholes. On the way, I saw a
few policemen patrolling, and I greeted them. I
stopped to
chat with them for a few minutes after which I
drove off laughing.
At my workplace, I saw some people loitering
in the waiting room and discovered they were
here to be
interviewed. I saw the son of the permanent
secretary. I also saw a young man with tattered
shoes and
patched-up trouser; he graduated recently
from one of the government universities, but
everyone could
testify to the fact that he's brilliant. While
going home that day, I saw the man with the
tattered shoes
again, he was smiling and I asked him why.
"Sir, I've been given the job." he said, "What!
What of the
Permanent secretary's son, didn't his father
call beforehand?" "No" the man said, "He
didn't"
That evening, I went out to play in the
neighborhood, I saw Adamu and Obinna
discussing the recent trend
in the country, of how Mallam Danjuma is now
the governor of Rivers state, Senator Abifarin
Oluwafemi is
now the governor in Borno state, Mr Chijioke
Godffrey is now the governor of Oyo state. I
decided that
since I had a lot of time on my hands, I should
make a quick stop in the hospital to make a
few checkups.
I went to the Cancer treatment Hospital, after
making sure I was cancer-free, i visited the
HIV/AIDS
Checkup Centre and I was well attended to;
with world-class equipments. I even saw the
mother of the
vice-president there. From there, I saw Hope of
Salvation Church and Egbe Alasalatu Islamic
house holding
a joint prayer for continuous peace in the
community. I saw the pastor and Imam
consulting on the prayer
points. I stayed for a few minutes before
leaving
The next morning, I tried to make some calls,
but I couldn't find my phone. I took my wife's
phone and
saw tons of messages sent from my phone
asking me to call back, that my phone was
found on the road.
I hurriedly called my phone back and got a
man on the line. He told me he had been
calling my
wife's number since yesterday night but that
she wasn't picking her calls. I apologized and
told him that
she put her phone in silent to avoid
disturbances while sleeping. I went to reclaim
my phone, I thanked the
man and offered him a few naira, but he
rejected it saying, I shouldn't worry.
Since it was election time, I went to the polling
booth nearest to me to carry out my
constitutional duties.
I saw only people of voting age there,
everywhere was peaceful and the security
agents there were merely
putting up appearances as they were just
chatting with the voters. I voted for the
candidate of my choice
and left. The next morning, I heard that the
election results were out and that the runners-
up and winner
were having lunch together. I turned on my
T.V set and saw for myself, in fact, they
weren't just eating, a
healthy conversation was going on. The winner
of the presidential election asked the runners-
up to advice
him as to how to effectively run the country
and they all sat together to discuss on how to
sustain the
massive success the country has been
witnessing.
The next day, the foreign media said that the
American president has laid some rules down
for Nigeria to
follow, failure to do that will amount to
severing of diplomatic ties. The Nigerian
president replied 30
minutes after, he told the American president
to go to hell and that he won't allow his
country to be ruled
by foreign and anti-masses policies. I
remembered that I hadn't completed my
weekly hours of work
mandatory for all Nigerians, I got there and
saw the president dusting his trouser, he had
just finished
cutting the grass where he was assigned to
work. I greeted him and he told me that he's
expecting month
end, that his monthly allowance had nearly
finished, since he was also collecting the
minimum wage being
paid to the workers.
"Hum..." I woke up with a jolt slapping my
ears, these mosquitoes again. So I have been
dreaming. I was
sweating profusely, there's no light. I stood up
to take my bath, no water. I turned on my
transistor radio,
I heard them saying Boko haram has started
again, and that robbers have killed 13 people.
Oh God!

and there are no potholes. On the way, I saw a few policemen patrolling, and I greeted them. I stopped to
chat with them for a few minutes after which I drove off laughing.
At my workplace, I saw some people loitering in the waiting room and discovered they were here to be
interviewed. I saw the son of the permanent secretary. I also saw a young man with tattered shoes and
patched-up trouser; he graduated recently from one of the government universities, but everyone could
testify to the fact that he's brilliant. While going home that day, I saw the man with the tattered shoes
again, he was smiling and I asked him why. "Sir, I've been given the job." he said, "What! What of the
Permanent secretary's son, didn't his father call beforehand?" "No" the man said, "He didn't"
That evening, I went out to play in the neighborhood, I saw Adamu and Obinna discussing the recent trend
in the country, of how Mallam Danjuma is now the governor of Rivers state, Senator Abifarin Oluwafemi is
now the governor in Borno state, Mr Chijioke Godffrey is now the governor of Oyo state. I decided that
since I had a lot of time on my hands, I should make a quick stop in the hospital to make a few checkups.
I went to the Cancer treatment Hospital, after making sure I was cancer-free, i visited the HIV/AIDS
Checkup Centre and I was well attended to; with world-class equipments. I even saw the mother of the
vice-president there. From there, I saw Hope of Salvation Church and Egbe Alasalatu Islamic house holding
a joint prayer for continuous peace in the community. I saw the pastor and Imam consulting on the prayer
points. I stayed for a few minutes before leaving
The next morning, I tried to make some calls, but I couldn't find my phone. I took my wife's phone and
saw tons of messages sent from my phone asking me to call back, that my phone was found on the road.
I hurriedly called my phone back and got a man on the line. He told me he had been calling my
wife's number since yesterday night but that she wasn't picking her calls. I apologized and told him that
she put her phone in silent to avoid disturbances while sleeping. I went to reclaim my phone, I thanked the
man and offered him a few naira, but he rejected it saying, I shouldn't worry.
Since it was election time, I went to the polling booth nearest to me to carry out my constitutional duties.
I saw only people of voting age there, everywhere was peaceful and the security agents there were merely
putting up appearances as they were just chatting with the voters. I voted for the candidate of my choice
and left. The next morning, I heard that the election results were out and that the runners-up and winner
were having lunch together. I turned on my T.V set and saw for myself, in fact, they weren't just eating, a
healthy conversation was going on. The winner of the presidential election asked the runners-up to advice
him as to how to effectively run the country and they all sat together to discuss on how to sustain the
massive success the country has been witnessing.
The next day, the foreign media said that the American president has laid some rules down for Nigeria to
follow, failure to do that will amount to severing of diplomatic ties. The Nigerian president replied 30
minutes after, he told the American president to go to hell and that he won't allow his country to be ruled
by foreign and anti-masses policies. I remembered that I hadn't completed my weekly hours of work
mandatory for all Nigerians, I got there and saw the president dusting his trouser, he had just finished
cutting the grass where he was assigned to work. I greeted him and he told me that he's expecting month
end, that his monthly allowance had nearly finished, since he was also collecting the minimum wage being
paid to the workers.
"Hum..." I woke up with a jolt slapping my ears, these mosquitoes again. So I have been dreaming. I was
sweating profusely, there's no light. I stood up to take my bath, no water. I turned on my transistor radio,
I heard them saying Boko haram has started again, and that robbers have killed 13 people. Oh God!

Nairaland / General / Did You Cross-over To 2015 With NEPA/PHCN Light Or Your Generator? by Adrianpastol(m): 4:15am On Jan 01, 2015
Firstly, a happy new year to all Nairalanders, I wish you all
much of what you wish yourself this 2015.
Now this may sound funny but I have noticed as far back as
I can remember, there is always no power supply when we
cross-over to the new year and that includes experiences
from my former hood, my villa n my current place of
residence. I remember when crossing into 2014, there was
light until 11:50pm, they took the lights n brought it back at
12:05am jan 1st 2014. This year, there was light all through
yesterday, 31st till 6:30pm n we crossed over with
generator.
Pls I want to know if this is the same everywhere, do share if
you crossed over to 2015 with NEPA/PHCN (or woteva dey r
called now) light or your generator?
