OUR HOPE… THEIR ROPE I don’t know where to start my lamentation. In as much as I want to be lenient and civil in my utterances, I cannot but vent my anger on our so called leaders. I am beginning to understand what my late dad always say “ole ni gbogbo won” meaning, they are all thieves. It’s quite saddening that our leaders in this part of the world are all out to enrich themselves and their generations yet unborn. I am beginning to ask some questions; Do our leaders really know what it takes to lead? Is leadership all about being in the seat of power? Do they have any trait or characteristic of a good leader (at least, we did social studies and we were taught leadership). If at this point, the leadership of this country cannot empathize with the citizens, then I implore them to tender their resignation letters (which is always difficult to do for we Africans). The basic needs of citizens are on the rise and there is no policy to address the situation, the leaders are turning deaf ears to the plight of an average Nigerian. Let them know, if they (leaders) don’t know that a bag of sachet water is now N200 from N60, a litre of kerosene is N400 from N50, we can no longer buy N10 sugar, an egg is now N40 from N25, spaghetti of N90 is now N200/220, Titus fish is now N500 to mention a few. Don’t our leaders go to the market or what? shey their maids don’t give them feedback about the sky rocketed prices of commodities? The increase in crime rate cannot but be related to the insensitivity of our leaders. What way are we heading to? Do we have a leader that is leading us right? We plan fighting corruption but this is the second year and no one has been convicted. What has changed from the past administration? We preach “change begins with me”; has there been any change from our leaders? Has there been change in their expenses and outrageous earnings? Have they made any meaningful law that will be of benefit to the masses? Rather, we are being played like football. Insecurity is at its peak, ethnicity and religious uprisings are being fuelled by media houses paid by our leaders all because of their self-centeredness and devilish acts. If not that all these uprisings are being sponsored by our leaders, tell me how our security agencies cannot curb or stop the consistent attacks by Fulani herdsmen. To our religious leaders, continue to dance to the tune; let politicians continue to use you as pawn in their game of chess (you people will tell me where it is written in the New Testament to pick up arms). If you know you cannot pray for peace in the nation, it is better our religious leader just keep quiet and stop encouraging violence. To my fellow youth and masses, I implore us to continue to pray for the nation and let’s arm ourselves with wisdom and knowledge. Let us go back to history and learn from great leaders; lets equip ourselves with leadership qualities not arms because very soon we will be at the elms of affair and we should be able to lay a good foundation for the generations coming. Finally, just as Steve Biko said, “the most potent weapon of an oppressor is the mind of the oppressed”. I therefore implore us to get ourselves involved in making this country great again by not allowing our leaders to oppress us. Nigeria is our hope, not their rope to inflict pain on us. I love my country. Aduadu. Ayanfe137@gmail.com. |
what about Kennet dike library.. the second to the last floor during exam period. |
have had this argument with my friend for a while. The argument has been on the issue of the better player between walcott and chamberlain. We understand the fact that they are both average players. would like you guys to share your opinion. Like for chamberlain, Share for Walcott |
walahi... dis is hilarious .... |
walahi... our problem is picknick... the guy knows nothing about football management and administration.. the same way he employed Sunday oliseh without a proper interview and scrutiny.. is d same way Paul le Geun is being employed. Are we to be begging people to come and coach the national team... throw the post open and interview interested applicants.. |
all this people should just park well... in as much as I wouldn't want the NFF to appoint that man called le Geun.. its just annoying that the govt have not been able to settle this crises |
sweetyme001:how is he now better than our local coaches?. the likes of khadiri ikanna, the late Stephen keshi before he was frustrated by Amaju piknick. |
gurujoe:what kind of chance do u want us to give him? on what ground will he be employed? |
it so sad that amaju peak milk administration is leading Nigeria football to her destruction... on what ground will they appoint just anyhow coach to come and lead d national team. what is the achievement of le Geun? |
Mttcheeeeew.....stewp!d NFF He was not supposed to be employed in the first place Get us a competent coach from Holland
|
toyeoye:u sabi as e dey go... for bodija. me self suppose post my own... |
I think iheanacho should have been given a chance to start the match against Germany... the combination of taiwo awoniyi and Bernard bulbwa has not really performed well... let's keep our fingers cross as we watch the interesting match. |
A lot was expected from manu garba boys against Brazil but the boys let us down with their display.. from my own personal observation and opinion... I think our jersey contributed to our defeat. for Christ sake!! who designed such jersey for us? for those clamouring for kelechi to be introduced to the super eagles.. I think we should try and give the young lad time to develop himself... although I will blame the coach for starting him against Brazil ( cos he has been away from the team for sometimes now, hence it will be quite difficult for him to blend with them)... it only takes exceptional players at their age to perform d kind of magic we are expecting from him. Amaju "picknick"is another problem we are having in Nigeria football.... he should stop doing the work of coaches and look at the kind of jersey he signed for us.. management is another problem of that team.. the fact that we have d likes of awoniyi, Isaac success, kelechi et el does not mean they should be on the pitch at the same time... I pray we win our next match 'cos am so much interested in dis boys.... |
because the rigging in the south south and south east is very obvious.... more so , they are up against people that are smarter ... |

its quite pathetic that we Nigeria football fans forget things easily... maybe because we don't want to learn from history... its no longer news that the head coach of the national team has been sacked ( cos some of us know he is going to be sacked) but the news is that the rejected stone( shuabu Amodu) has been appointed as the interim national team coach... Am not against the appointment of Amodu but what am against is the lack of patience and foresight we Nigerians lack... Amodu achievement during his spells in the national team is equal to non but fans criticized his style of play... complained of watching boring football despite having the results... he was sacked over and over again... keshi was not given a chance but he excelled.. qualifying us for the world cup, nations cup and also home based caf tournament for the first time...within. two years he achieved more than we expected yet we Nigerians were not satisfied... clamouring for siasia who to me has never achieved anything for Nigeria( my opinion) .....for how long are we going to celebrate people that are after their pocket and not the interest of Nigeria... how long we fans will give any national team coach time to develop our football.... Rome is not built in a day.... |
