I applied for VV April 2, I have a previous biometrics so it was updated immediately ever since then I have not gotten any update, do you guys think I should raise a Web form or keeping waiting?

Where did you get this from please?. As at March, it was still officially 12 months approximately, all things being equal.

Hi everyone. Though I have been a long time guest here, I recently registered to give back to this forum.
I'm a first time applicant, and I applied with the new link.
Here is my timeline:

Visa applied for: Visitor Visa.
Purpose of visitation: To reunite with family member who is a PR holder.
Application submitted online: January 31.
Biometrics completed: February 1 (updated same day on my portal).
Eligibility review: Started March 25/26, not sure of the two dates exactly.
BVL & PPR: March 30.
Sent passport to the VAC office: March 31.
Return of stamped passport: April 13.

Documents submitted:
1. Letter of employment
2. Introduction letter from place of work
3. My statement of account
4. Family member PR card
5. Wife's statement of account
6. Birth certificate
7. Family member statement of account
8. A simple SOP of about 1 page, stating reasons for family reunification
9. Letter of invitation from the family member inviting me .

I started following this Canada Visa thread weeks after submitting my application. At a point I felt somehow about my application, and wished I had done more. Nevertheless, I got a approval within 60days.
What surprised me the most is that I got the maximum duration of Visa on my passport, which is the highest passport duration currently being issued as a Nigerian passport.

My take home in this Visa process is that simple applications are easy to get approval. Moreso a straight to the point SOP is key. I mentioned my background and skills in the SOP, this may also be of huge influence to my application.

I'm indeed grateful to God.

Good day. Please I just got my PR and will be returning later in the year to do a court wedding with my fiancé. I want to also go for my masters later in the year, what I want to know is if my masters will be a hinderance to sponsoring my spouse.

Hmmmm later in the year.... I hope you know that it now takes about 2years to get sponsorship for your spouse. Y not do what you will do now, just saying though talking from experience shaaa.

Somebody's application was refused by a Visa Officer handling your case. The person wrote a protest letter to the Minister, the minister order a reconsideration for that file, and at the same looked into your own file too which was awaiting a final endorsement by the same VO. The Case Manager then found a merit in your application and changed it to an approval.

The initial timeline was 13 months but in 4th IRCC improved their process time and according to them, spouse sponsorship is now 9 months.

The sowp is still pending.
I had concern about the travel history even before my submission. My biggest confusion is the response on hometie
I really don't know what else to add

To God be the Glory, I have just been refused on the ground of hometies and and travel History

For hometies, my proof of emplyment(letter from HR, payslip, pension account were presented), landed property, car document, family members (eight siblings, aged mother and father inlaw)

No travel History. I am thinking of travelling to few western african countries to get that corrected.
I submitted on 22nd of February, 2022.
I still have sowp application undecided.

Update on this:

We are still yet to receive the PPR letter for my spouse. The MPs office has been following up with IRCC and we are being told it was mailed to the physical address in Nigeria. Really weird. I thought correspondence is usually done via the applicant's account. As explained by the MP, apparently reconsideration requests/approvals are handled differently. We have requested that it be sent to our email address.
Fingers crossed and hope we receive it soon.

Here's the timeline in the meantime;

First application: November 10th
Refusal: December 3rd

Second application: December 6th
Refusal without refusal letter: February 15th
Reconsideration (Approval without PPR): March 24th

I can't find my birth certificate. Been using the affidavit for anything. I don't know of its acceptable for this as well.

Please your sister that got letter of introduction from her employer, did the letter state what date she will be taking her leave? Also is this their first travel history and first visa attempt.

I see. Not about to open a pandora box lol, but if you applied online why did you have to link it to your GCKey? Wasnt it already linked? What link did you use to submit your applications online?

Even though we already submitted our application, I'm sure others will be interested in knowing if there's an online application for sponsorship and how to go about it.

The link to apply online is not through GCkey, its after you apply and get AOR you will be asked to link the application to your GCKey

all paper and online application will follow the same route in linking GCkey

Is there a way to apply online? I don't think you can submit spousal application online, you can only fill the forms electronically and submit by mail or courier service. (I may be wrong). Then you can link it to your online account after submission.

That said, I've gone ahead to mail our sponsorship documents to the processing center today.
