Kim and Kanye west have finally revealed their newborn baby daughter’s name.

The child has been named Chicago West. The name is sure to hold deep meaning for the reality star’s rapper husband Kanye West, who was raised in Chicago.

While certainly unusual, with older siblings named North and Saint a unique moniker for the couple’s third child was only to be expected.

Kim announced the choice of name on her blog on Friday morning, in the form of a birth announcement. The card also carried the baby’s January 15 birth date, alongside her birth weight of 7lbs 6oz.

Kim and Kanye hired a surrogate mother to carry their third child after the beauty suffered complications whilst pregnant with four-year-old North and two-year-old Saint.

There was confusion on Thursday at the Headquarters of the Special Military Taskforce, codenamed ‘Operation Safe Haven’ in Jos, Plateau State over alleged theft of 209 cows by suspected rustlers.

The Commander of OPSH, Maj. Gen. Anthony Atolagbe, had stated that 200 cows were missing, out of which 100 had been recovered and 20 found dead.

He added that some of the suspects had been arrested.

But the spokesman for the agency, Maj. Umar Adams, said no arrest had been made.

Adams said,

“Up till now, there is no arrest; the security operatives are still on their trail and so far, they are still recovering more of the cows. They recovered about five cows and one sheep yesterday (Wednesday) while on the trail of the rustlers.”

When reminded of the statement from the OPSH Commander, he said,

“I am not aware of any statement. The only statement I am aware of is the one I am telling you now and no arrest has been made.

“However, our personnel have been deployed and they are carrying out raids to ensure that they arrest the perpetrators. And in the course of the operation, they have been able to recover about five cows and one sheep. For now, there has been no arrest.”

Unofficial sources said 20 persons had been arrested for cow rustling in the state.

Although information about the suspects was still sketchy, it was learnt that they cut across Hausa, Fulani and some other ethnic groups in Plateau State.

A source said,

“Over 20 suspects have been arrested by security operatives in connection with the stealing of cows and they are currently being detained at the headquarters of OPSH in Jos. As soon as investigations are concluded, they will be handed over to the appropriate agencies for prosecution.”

A statement issued in Jos by the Chief of Staff to the OPSH, Brig. Gen. A.M. Bello, also said some suspects were arrested and investigations were ongoing.

According to him, contrary to reports, there had been no tension in Plateau State, following alleged threats by the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria in the state over an alleged attack on their kinsmen and the rustling of 350 cows belonging to their people.

Bello described the rumour as “unfounded, misplaced and out of reality and should therefore be disregarded.”

He said,

“Please note that only 200 cattle were missing, out of which 100 were recovered while 20 were found dead. Efforts are ongoing to find the remaining ones with the assistance of the locals in the area. However, some suspects were arrested and investigations are ongoing.

“Furthermore, the command has made efforts at meeting with all the parties involved and strongly advised them to remain peaceful and work closely with security agencies to unravel these criminals once and for all, rather than taking the law into their own hands. We, therefore, advise members of the public to go about their normal business as the situation is under control.”

Tragedy struck yesterday in Babcock University, as a 500 level student of accounting whose name was not given, reportedly did the unexpected following a heartbreak.

According to a social media user who shared the story, the Babcock University student who proposed to a lady, but got turned down, tore his cloth and that of his ‘crush’, and ran naked to the female hostel in the school, professing his love for the girl who broke his heart.

Recall that in 2017, Air Craftsman Kalu Bernard was found guilty by a 10-man Nigeria Air Force (NAF) General Court Martial over the killing of his girl friend and colleague, Solape Oladipupo, has sentenced him to death by hanging.

Jealous Bernard, 21, had shot and killed Solape when he allegedly caught her in the arms of another man at the Air Force Base, Makurdi on March 12, 2017.

Military sources indicated that Bernard, after shooting his double-dating girlfriend, was overpowered by the lover while trying to shoot him.

Flight Lt. M. A. Umoh, Judge Advocate of the court, in a 70-page narration of the case that lasted through the early hours of Wednesday, listed the eight-count charges as murder, failure to perform military duty, housebreaking and impersonation.

Others included loss of service property, disobedience of service order and prejudice to service discipline.

“The accused has pleaded not guilty to all the charges, but the prosecution has proved its case against him beyond a reasonable doubt,” he stated.

In his judgement, President of the court, Group Capt. Elisha Bindul, who said that the accused was found guilty in six, out of the eight-count charges preferred against him, sentenced him to death by hanging.

He, however, said that the sentence was subject to the confirmation of the conveying authority.

The defence counsel, Abimiku Ewuga, had earlier prayed the court to temper justice with mercy in its sentence, especially as the accused was a first time offender and bread winner of his family.

A ‘millionaire’ father has come under fire for hiring strippers to perform at his 12-year-old son’s birthday.

Video footage of the birthday party, which reportedly took place in the United States, show several exotic dancers performing for the boy.

In one short segment, the boy appears uncomfortable while two strippers dance for him and rub their breasts against his face.

Several Spanish-language news outlets have reported on the video, but it is not known exactly where it was filmed or the nationality of the family.

The father of the boy is reported to be a ‘millionaire’ by LaVanguardia.com The video shows the boy sitting on a chair while two female exotic dancers perform.

One of them is sitting in the boy’s lap and another is standing behind them. Another clip shows the boy with his top off, dancing with one of the lingerie-clad women by a stripper’s pole.

The father can be seen smiling broadly and encouraging his son. The video was shared widely on YouTube where users have questioned the father’s parenting abilities.

Commentators have called the father’s ‘birthday gift’ inappropriate, saying a pre-pubescent boy should not be sexualised in this way, with some even calling it sexual abuse of a child.

It is not known where the party took place. According to Estrella TV, a Spanish-speaking TV channel in the US, the father hoped to turn his son into a man.

But instead the boy appears to be uncomfortable in the video. It was condemned by commenters, with some pointing out how different the situation would be if it was a 12-year-old girl with male strippers.

In the comment section of the video, there was mixed reaction. Marco Scodorbes felt the father “deserves a medal“.

Another commentator, Gomera, failed to see the funny side, saying: “Would it be the same reaction if it were a 12-year-old girl with male strippers?”

And Alan Ancuna had similar thoughts, he said: “What would happen if we would turn the situation around? A 12-year-old girl with two half-naked men dancing, would it not be wrong?“

New study says that more women will find out they are pregnant tomorrow than at any other time of year.

According to the study, the reason is because the date falls just over two weeks after National Baby-making Day on January 2nd, the most common day of the year for couples to try to conceive.

In fact, scientists have even nailed down the exact time it is likely to happen – 10.36pm. Official figures revealed the UK’s most commonly shared birthday is September 26, which is 38 weeks away from January 2 – the average length of a pregnancy.

Experts believe more than 10,000 women will be nervously taking pregnancy tests on Wednesday to see if the two blue lines appear so they can start planning for a new arrival.

Parenting site ChannelMum.com revealed the phenomenon dubbed ‘pregnancy test addiction’, with women taking an average of SIX different pregnancy tests to ensure they really are expecting.

A staggering 62% of mums carry on taking tests, despite already having a positive result.

Many worry about the health of the pregnancy or believe the initial test was wrong leading to women spending an average of £30 on tests.

About 7% mums-to-be take 10 tests while one in 20 admit to checking 16 times – or more – before they finally accept they are pregnant.

The study of 1,435 mums even found one in 12 are so hooked on checking for the two blue lines that they keep taking tests up until they have their 12-week scan.

Siobhan Freegard, founder of ChannelMum.com, said: “Being hooked on pregnancy tests may seem strange, but the majority of mums do it.

“Seeing the positive sign come up gives mums-to-be a buzz and also helps reassure those who may be nervous about their pregnancy.

“However, it’s important not to get addicted to continual tests, as they are expensive and unnecessary.

Nigeria has been ranked as the second worst nation in power supply as power drops to 3,851 megawatts, MW.

The Spectator Index of the world’s worst electricity supply in 2017, stated this in a report released by @spectatorindex twitter handle, yesterday.

Of the 137 countries examined in the report, Yemen ranked as worst electricity supply nations in 2017, followed by Nigeria, Haiti, Lebanon, and Malawi.

Ethiopia occupied the 37 position, while South Africa and Algeria occupied the 41, 45 positions respectively. Meanwhile, the Advisory Power Team report showed that the national grid capacity stood at 4, 000 Megawatts, MW.

The report noted that the average power sent out by the Electricity Generating Companies, GENCOs, on the 14th of January, stood at 3, 851.06mw, down by 168.58mw, recorded the previous day, adding that the peak generation averaged 4, 425mw, down by 5.5 percent.

According to the report, “On January 14 2018, average power sent out was 3,851MWh/hour (down by 169MWh/h from the previous day). 1437.9MW was not generated due to unavailability of gas.

“0MW was not generated due to unavailability of line infrastructure, while 680.5MW was not generated due to high frequency resulting from the unavailability of distribution infrastructure. 290MW was not generated due to unavailability of water.

“The power sector lost an estimated N1,121,000,000 on January 14, 2018, due to insufficient gas supply, distribution infrastructure, transmission infrastructure and water reserves.”

Consequently, a total of 63.1mw of energy was sent out from Omoku thermal power plant with a constraint of 16mw.

Alaoji National Independent Power Plant, NIPP, had a constraint of 240mw which affected the ability of the plant to generate commercial energy.

Energy sent out from Delta power plant on the same day was 340.76mw with a high-frequency constraint of 100 Hertz.

Jebba plant sent out 302.88mw of energy, while Shiroro had a water constraint of 290mw, along with high-frequency constraint of 95 Hz, limiting the sent out energy to 160.31mw, while Kainji dam sent out 359.49mw of power to the transmission company of Nigeria, TCN.

The Federal Government has summoned the United States ambassador to Nigeria, Stuart Symington, over the derogatory remarks by President Donald Trump.

Trump had in a fit lambasted immigrants, stating that they were coming from ‘shithole’ countries, a statement that annoyed many concerned nations and generated serious criticisms from the African Union and others.

The Spanish Police has uncovered yet another illegal means African migrants devised to migrate to Europe. According to Spanish media, suspected migrants ( sub-Saharan Africa) were found hiding in a car’s boot, while another was found under the bonnet, while trying to cross into Spanish North African territory of Melilla.

It was also gathered that in the incident that left the driver and a passenger in the car detained, another lady was reportedly found under the dashboard.

Spanish daily La Vanguardia reports that two police officers involved in catching the four suspected migrants who reportedly entered Spanish territory at the Beni-Enzar border crossing between Melilla and Morocco, had to be treated for injuries, one after taking a blow to the knee, the other after being hit in the hand.

The plot was uncovered by two policemen as they tried to stop the car which sped through security controls, before the driver and his passenger dumped it outside a petrol station and fled.

Melilla and Ceuta, another Spanish enclave nearly 250 miles away on the north coast of Africa, are often used as entry points into Europe for African migrants.

They have the only two land borders between Africa and the European Union.

Over the years, thousands of migrants have attempted to cross the 7.5-mile frontier between Melilla and Morocco, or the 5-mile border at Ceuta, by climbing the border fences, swimming along the coast or hiding in vehicles.

Spain is increasingly targeted by people keen to reach Europe from Africa, with the number of migrants getting into the country in 2017 hitting a record high of nearly 22,900, according to EU border agency Frontex.

This was more than double the previous record set in 2016.

Recall that in 2017, twelve African immigrants were caught hiding under a train near the Austrian border, in a bid to sneak into Europe illegally.

Earlier today, a boat carrying goods worth over 5 million from Cotonou in Benin Republic capsized at the Bonny Jetty in Rivers state.

Report has it that the boat arrived Bonny Jetty at about 6pm yesterday, the manager of the Cotonou boat left his duty post to a beer palour to watch football match between Arsenal and Chelsea – leaving the goods inside with no order to unload the boat.

On getting to the Jetty this morning, goods worth over N5 million were seen afloat on the sea.

According to the special assistant on New Media at Bonny local government council, Christian Ezekiel-Hart, this is as a result of gross negligence of duty by the manager of the boat.

Nigerian-born footballer and English team, Manchester City defender, Tosin Adarabioyo, has added an impressive achievement to his name as he purchases a whopping £2.25million (N1B) mansion despite having played a Premier League match for the club.

The footballer whose is real name is Abdul-Nasir Oluwatosin “Tosin” Adarabioyo, was born in Manchester, England and is of Nigerian descent.
