Not fewer than two staff of the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (IAR&T), Ibadan were hospitalised on Monday after some overzealous men of the Oyo State Police Command clashed with students of the Federal College of Agriculture, Moore Plantation, Apata Ibadan.

Sources gathered that trouble started some minutes before 8 am on Monday when students of Federal College of Agriculture, who shares the same premises with IART&T and Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology were protesting within the premises against the leadership of the Provost of the institution, Dr. Babajide Adelekan.

The students noted that they were tired of protracted strikes by workers of the institution and various crisis that had been rocking Adelekan’s administration.

A commercial motorcyclist who plies the popular Mokola-Dugbe-Apata Road while speaking with Sources on condition of anonymity disclosed that students of the institution were protesting peacefully and blocked the Apata-Dugbe Road when the police came to disperse them.

He noted that the melee started when the policemen arrived and started chasing the protesters.

He added that the students resisted the police invasion, which made the police to re-enforce and chase students, staff of the three institutions and other people on sight.

It was gathered that two staff of IAR&T, including Mrs Helen Adekanmi and another male staff who were sht during the francas have been hospitalised and are currently receiving treatments at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.

An industrial training (IT) student, a male staff Mr. Lanre Johnson and ten other staff whose names were still being collated as at the time of filling this report sustained various degrees of injuries on their heads, legs, toes and arms.

Five cars belonging to staff of IAR&T were destroyed.

Former Manchester United Left full back, Patrice Evra‘s contract has been terminated by Olympique de Marseille after he was banned until June 2018 for kung-fu kicking a fan.

The former France captain was sent off before Marseille’s Europa League defeat against Vitoria on November 2 after lashing out at a supporter who Evra claimed was abusing him.

UEFA charged Evra under article 15 of their disciplinary regulations, which deals with the misconduct of players, banning him from their club competitions until June.

And Marseille quickly followed news of his suspension by terminating his contract with immediate effect.

A statement published on Marseille’s website read:

“Patrice Evra has been exemplary on the field and in the locker room. He played an important role in reviving the team and in the improvement of results.

“However, on November 2 in Guimaraes he committed an irreparable act by responding to provocations from a handful of individuals.

“Nothing justified such a reaction, especially from a senior player whose attitude both on and off the pitch should inspire the youngest of us.

“In that context, the conditions were no longer right for Patrice Evra to accomplish his mission here with serenity or, above all, effectively.

“Both parties agreed to end the collaboration by mutual consent.

“This incident also highlighted the unacceptable attitude of a small number of people who uttered insults and threats of violence towards the player and his family before contemptuously invading the pitch.

“Such behaviour, which exposes the club to sanctions, has no place in the stands of a football stadium and at Marseille in particular.”

Club president Jacques-Henri Eyraud added: “Today, there is sadness. For Patrice Evra first, who obviously understood all the consequences of his action and who will no longer be able to exercise his passion at Olympique de Marseille.

“Also for Marseille fans, who are stigmatised because of the irresponsible behaviour of a handful of them.”

Marseille’s American owner Frank McCourt had described Evra’s behaviour as “unacceptable” and “not something that we can tolerate”, while fans held up a giant banner before last Sunday’s game against Caen saying: “We don’t want you in our colours anymore. Evra get lost.”

Marseille have also been fined €25,000 by UEFA for their supporters invading the pitch, setting off fireworks and acts of damage.

Mavin’s act, Johnny Drille, has been forced to cut his signature afro hair after a fungal infection. Sharing a photo of his new look on Instagram, the singer disclosed that the infection slowly caused his hair to break, creating scanty patches on his scalp.

Here’s his emotional long post;

This will be a long read, so forgive me!

Some of you may have noticed I didn’t have my ‘signature’ hair at some point this year. Well, I had a terrible condition called fungal infection that slowly caused my hair to break, creating scanty patches on my scalp.

Around January I noticed I had scales on my face but didn’t pay it any attention until it spread to my scalp and ears.

I probably got it from a barber shop or hotel bedsheets that weren’t properly washed. I would spend the next two months assuming it was dandruff and trying to treat that.

I saw that I was losing a lot of my hair and it was then I realized it wasn’t at all dandruff but something terrible.

I had a dermatologist check and he diagnosed it as fungal infection and prescribed the drugs.

Treating it has hands down been the hardest thing I’ve done this year. I had to shave all of my remaining hair to properly treat it. I can remember leaving the barber shop with my friend Obji and hating the guy I saw in the mirror, me.

I was going to stay indoors for the next few weeks and go out only a few times aided by face caps and hats. I dreaded taking tablets prior as I’d rather just let my immune system fight whatever I was down with, but this time it was inescapable, I had to take dem pills.

Treatment also didn’t come cheap, a Terbinafine pack of 14 tablets sold for NGN17, 000 and I must have have taken around 6 packs of those. One mistake I made was not being faithful to dosage; at times I missed a dosage and woke up to more fungus on my face and hair the next morning.

Another mistake I made was not correctly diagnosing it but assuming it was nothing serious.

Last week I took the last tablet of Terbinafine and I can now boldly say I’m totally free from that stubborn fungal infection that plagued me the most of this year.

I also learned to take medication by myself (my mum or sister would usually force me to take pills then). It’s a pretty boring story but I wanted to share it so in case you experience something like this or anything suspicious, you should take action asap and not wait for it to get out of control.

TMZ obtained Meek’s new mug shot, taken Wednesday morning. Pennsylvania’s Dept. of Corrections says the rapper is being processed right now.

It’s still unknown which prison he’ll be serving his sentence.

Prison officials say they won’t release the name of Meek’s new prison until he’s arrived there … for security concerns.
