Of recent, there has been report about calls and petitions to Whatsapp management pertaining the missed call notification on it’s mobile app when the phone did not actually ring and also voice lags or voice break during Whatsapp call which is probably caused by poor internet connectivity.

Whatsapp “Live Location” Feature

Few days ago, Whatsapp announced that users will be able to share the location with friends and family in real time. If you’ve used the sharing feature before, you know we could already share locations before, except it was static. With this one though, you’ll be able to share it in real time, almost like a Google Map of chat.

This is how it will work — open a chat with the person or group you want to share with. Go to Location, from the attach button. The attach options will have “Share Live Location”.

When you select it, you can even choose for how long you intend to share location with the other person. Then hit send. If more than one person shares their Live Location in the group, all locations will be visible on the same map.

Note that this is an end to those times you lie to your friends that you’re in a particular location when you’re somewhere else. It won’t end well when they request you share your location.

Whatsapp’s “Unsend Chat Message” Feature

As already stated, Whatsapp is currently testing an ‘unsend’ feature which will help users to get rid of messages sent either by a mistake or deliberately. With the Delete for Everyone’ feature, those messages you send angrily or when not in good state of mind can be deleted from your Whatsapp Chat Window using ‘unsend’ button.

According to WABetaInfo, experimenting with the new feature on Android and iOS devices. The feature is said to be functioning successful thus far.

‘Recall’ or ‘unsend’ message feature have been in many social apps like WeChat and Viber.

Note: Chats can only be deleted withing 5 minutes after it’s sent and if it hasn’t been read by the recipient.

A man identified as Oriyomi Paul Ayomaya, was reportedly killed by a stray bullet from officials of the Nigeria Customs Service today, while returning from church at the Idiroko border, Ogun State.

The last has not been heard of the controversy surrounding the death of Tagbo Umeike , friend to Nigerian pop star David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, as the other suspects who were detained by the police have given an insight into what actually happened the night Tagbo died.

Reports credited to the Lagos State Police Command had revealed that Tagbo had a night of heavy drinking and allegedly consumed about 40 shots of Tequila, a strong alcoholic beverage. He was alleged to be in company of his friends, including Davido, before his body was abandoned at Lagos Island General Hospital in the early hours of October 3.

The news of his death was made known to the public following the outcry of Umeike’s ex-girlfriend, Nollywood actress Caroline Danjuma, who accused Davido of abandoning his friend. That outburst led to the arrest and interrogation of Davido and three other suspects by the police. While the other three suspects are still being detained in police custody, Davido was released unconditionally.

According to a police source, there was no need to detain Davido as all the evidence gathered in the cause of interrogation and investigation exonerated him.

“Tagbo is an adult and was not forced to consume that quantity of alcohol that is dangerous to his health. He had nothing to do with his death, rather investigation revealed that he was even more concerned about the safety of the deceased while he was still alive”, the source stated, pointing to a dead end in efforts to bring charges against the music star over the controversial death of his friend.

Why we dumped Tagbo’s body

Meanwhile some of the suspects who were detained after interrogation at the Police State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti have told the police that they dumped Tagbo’s body and fled the hospital when the doctor on duty confirmed that he was dead for fear of being treated as suspects.

Some of the suspects who are in custody are Davido’s police security detail, Tunde Yussuf , as well as his friends Busari Idris and Agbeja Olaoye all of who completely exonerated Davido.

According to Yussuf, who is a spy policeman , he was posted to work for Davido as part of his security details. He said that on the day of the unfortunate incident, they had gone to a party with the pop star at a club known as Shasha Room where they met Tagbo already drunk.

After spending some time, they moved to Oniru beach where Fuji music star Wasiu Ayinde was to perform at a birthday party that night.

According to him, they expected Tagbo to go home since he was already drunk but was surprised that he followed them to that place too. Moments later, one of Davido’s boys informed them that Tagbo was not okay.

He said Davido then requested that they should take one of his Hilux vehicles and follow those taking Tagbo to the hospital. As soon as they got there, the boys who took Tagbo to the hospital rushed in to call the police. “He was still in the car when the doctor came out and checked him and then said that he is dead. Moments later, the boys came out and told me that it was time to get out of the hospital.”

The second suspect Olaoye who was in the car with Tagbo before he died told the police that he fled when the doctor confirmed him dead to avoid being treated as his killer.

According to him, Tagbo was at the party long before Davido arrived and there was so much free drinks. “He demanded for a drink known as tequila and probably to show that he can consume a lot and still stay sane, took several shots of the drink.

As at the time Davido wanted to leave the party for another one, Tagbo was already drunk and violent. Davido who was concerned about his plight offered to carry him in his car but was advised against it because he was drunk and misbehaving. They advised him to go home but he insisted that he was going to the beach party with them. He then joined their car which was part of the convoy . It was while they were there that he started screaming and gasping for breath.”

At that point, he said they contacted Davido through the boys who were around him and they were told that Davido asked that he should be taken to the hospital immediately. On their way, he also noticed that one of Davido’s security men followed them to the hospital.

Olaoye insists that Tagbo was still breathing when they arrived at the hospital. They ran into the hospital requesting that there was an emergency, unfortunately by the time the doctor arrived, Tagbo had died.

They were then asked to fill a from to enable the hospital prepare his death certificate. They were able to get his international passport to get his correct name and age.

“The doctor then said that people in-charge of such case were coming and that we should wait and meet them before the corpse can be kept in the mortuary.”

Olaoye knew that they were referring to the police, so they all decided to run away from the hospital. They quickly jumped into the Hillux driven by Davido’s security detail and left the hospital. They also tried calling Davido to let him know the outcome of their trip to the hospital but his phones were switched off. Everyone of them retired to their various houses with the hope that by the next day they would help trace Tagbo’s family members.

Insisting that they are all innocent , Olaoye told the police that they ran away that night because in Nigeria, “even if it is clear that you had nothing to do with the death of someone, as long as you were at the scene, they will lock you up and accuse you of murder.”

Busari Idris who was also in the car on the day of the unfortunate incident also confirmed Olaoye’s statement. He said that they only knew his details from the international passport found in his wallet.

According to him, Tagbo was gasping for breath and screaming that his stomach was burning. He said they had no choice but to rush him to the hospital, adding that he was still breathing when they got to the hospital but lost him before the doctor could come to check him that night which was around 3am the next day.

“When the doctor said that we have to wait for the police, we knew the implication, that was why we fled the scene.”

What Davido told the police

In a short statement at the police station , Davido said he knew Tagbo just like the other boys hanging around him. According to him, he was invited to attend the birthday party of a friend whom he identified as Adelewe. At about 8pm on October 2, he left his house to attend the birthday party at Shasha Room in Lekki.

He was seated at another table with other friends while Tagbo and several others were behind them drinking and making noise. He only observed that Tagbo was consumming so much Tequila while the boys with him on the table were cheering him.

An hour later, he said he stood up and moved down to his car. He was heading to G12 at Oniru beach to attend another event, where Wasiu Ayinde was to perform.

He stated that almost all his boys and fans followed him to the car park including Tagbo who was drunk and unstable.

According to him, he was worried and tried to persuade him to enter his car but because he was misbehaving his security details and personal assistants advised that he should not take him in his car but rather he would enter another car in his convoy.

He left the club and attended the party at Oniru beach. An hour later , he moved to another club on the Island known as DNA for another event before retiring home for the day in the early hours of October 3.

Davido told the police, that he never heard anything from him again till he was informed by his personal assistant that Tagbo had died.

Other suspects face charges

At the time of filling this report, there were indications that the police may file charges against the other three suspects being held in custody. It was also confirmed that the police may have come to a dead end in their initial plan to draw charges against Davido as well because the music star was exonerated by the statements given by all the suspects.

A 9-year-old Pensacola child died Saturday after her 325-pound cousin allegedly sat on her as punishment for misbehavior, according to an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office report.

Veronica Green Posey, 64, was charged with homicide and cruelty toward a child after paramedics responded to a cardiac arrest call at 1:35 p.m.

CT Saturday in the 300 block of Bryant Road. Upon arrival, the victim, Dericka Lindsay, was found to be unresponsive and was transported to Baptist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Based on the arrest report, Posey told the responding deputy she sat on Dericka as a discipline “for being out of control.” During the course of the punishment, the report states Dericka told the adults she could not breathe.

After standing up and discovering the child was unresponsive, Posey called 911 and started CPR.

The report later states Posey informed the deputy she weighed about 325 pounds.

Additionally, Grace Joan Smith, 69, and James Edmund Smith, 62, were arrested and charged with child neglect for failing to report the abuse. Grace Smith has also been charged with cruelty toward a child. The report named the Smiths as the parents of Dericka and Posey as the Smiths’ niece.

According to Grace Smith’s arrest report, she called Posey to her house for assistance with disciplining Dericka. Grace Smith told the deputy Posey struck Dericka with a ruler and a metal pipe, before Dericka ran to an armchair.

In James Smith’s arrest report, he told the deputy Posey sat on Dericka in the armchair for an estimated 10 minutes before Dericka complained of not being able to breathe. He told the deputy Posey continued to sit on the child for another two minutes before standing up and finding the child unresponsive.

According to Escambia County’s jail records, Posey’s bond was set at $125,000, and she was released. Grace Smith’s bond was set at $75,000, and James Smith’s bond was set at $50,000. As of 3 p.m. Monday, jail records showed both were still in jail.

Five young children were removed from the care of their drug addict parents at a drug den in Eldorado Park southern Johannesburg, following a visit to the family home by South African Police Service officers.

The police and social workers were called to a house last Friday where the children between the ages of one month and nine years old were subjected to appalling living conditions including witnessing how their parents used drugs in front of them.

A family member, who wants to remain anonymous, has told Eyewitness News that she reported the matter to a social worker.

She says she doesn’t regret making the phone call, as she still hopes her brother and sister-in-law will receive urgent help to stop their drug addiction.

“It’s not right, that’s why we went to complain, we wanted actual help.”

The woman says that the children’s grandmother in an adjacent house had to look after the children when their parents were doing drugs.

“We as a family always go there to help my mother with food and stuff because they don’t get grants for them.”

Mbangwa of the Gauteng Social Development Department says a team met with community members on Tuesday.

“Three of them have been reunited with their families. The other two because their parents seem to have had drug problems, social workers are still ascertaining. They are kept in a place of safety to ascertain the next plan of action.

Amaka Offor, kidnap kingpin Chukwudubem Onwuamadike, aka Evans’ girlfriend, has refuted claim by Evans’ lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, that policemen sexually molested her.

Amaka, who expressed shock at the lawyer’s comment, said she had never met him.

Amaka, according to Blog, said that she was yet to speak with Evans since he was arrested on June 9, adding that her attempt to visit him at the Kirikiri Maximum Prison has been unsuccessful.

“I don’t know where that lawyer got his story from and I have never met him”, she told Vanguard.

“I have also not seen or spoken to Evans since he was arrested. I changed my phone number after he was arrested and I don’t think he has the new phone number.

“After he was charged to court where he pleaded guilty; I tried to see him in prison and speak with him, but I was not allowed to see him.

“The wardens did not tell me why I could not see him, but they took the food I brought for him and promised that they will give it to him.

“I was troubled when I read the story of the lawyer accusing the policemen, who arrested Evans, of sexually molesting me, while they were trying to use me to lure Evans out of hiding.

“I am not a baby and I know when I am being sexually molested and abused. Nothing of such happened and I think I have to set the record straight.

“One week before Evans was arrested, some policemen accosted me on my way to the market and arrested me. Though, they were hostile to me at the time they arrested me.

“I was completely in shock when they told me that Evans who I know and still call Chukwuebuka Mike, was a robber and kidnapper. I did not believe it.

“They later told me that they wanted me to lure him to my house because I told them that he was fond of my children and he normally spent time with us.

“The policemen were in my house, I was always in my room, and they were always in the sitting room. They provided all the money we used in cooking throughout their one week stay in my house.

“They were strategizing on how to arrest Evans. They also bought the fuel we used in powering the generator.

“On the day Evans was arrested, he called me around 5:am and the policemen brought the phone to me in my room and gave it to me. I answered the call and he told me not to drop the call.

“I thought I was standing by the gate and I did not put on any slippers. I walked out of the gate on barefoot. When I opened the gate, I saw him parked across the road and I entered into his vehicle.

“The moment I saw him, I was panting and he asked what was happening. I told him policemen were in my house for one week and they were looking for him. He zoomed off immediately and took me to Iyana-Ipaja where he dropped me.

“He left with my phone. That was the last time I saw him. I was surprised when his lawyer said I was sexually abused by the policemen who arrested him.”

A prison warder has reportedly taken her life after leaked pictures of her alleged relationship with an inmate surfaced online.

The warder who worked at Losperfontein Correctional Centre in South Africa was said to be in a romantic relationship with a prison inmate.

According to media reports, after the pictures emerged online, the employee took her own life. She allegedly killed herself on Monday morning (today) and a suicide case had been opened.

No one knows how the trending pictures were leaked online.

An investigation is reportedly underway to indicate the violations and to recommend sanctions to the inmate involved.

A postgraduate student (English Language) of the University of Lagos, Jimi Fatunbi, has been allegedly injured by two lecturers.

Fatunbi said he was slapped and stabbed by the lecturers at about midnight on Wednesday at Faculty of Education roundabout.

He identified the lecturers as Dr. Babawale Taiwo and Dr. Israel Abiala, who lecture at the Departments of Mathematics and Statistics; and Arts and Social Sciences Education respectively.

Fatunbi told Punch: “I went to take my car from Elkanemi hall, where it was initially parked, to Henry Carr. While I was reversing at Elkanemi Park, I discovered that a vehicle was behind me and the occupants (lecturers) of the vehicle said I was obstructing them.

“Dr. Taiwo started banging on my car. I felt he wanted to damage my car and I stopped. I came down to ask him what was actually wrong.

“I felt that if I was indeed obstructing, since I was moving away, there was no need for the attack.

“He said I had committed an offence and he needed to deal with me, being a lecturer. So, before I knew it, his colleague, Abiala came down from the same car and started manhandling me. In the process, one of them stabbed me in the face.

“I was shouting until students came around. I eventually called my hall executives and I was taken to the university’s Medical Centre for treatment.”

He said the lecturers were interrogated by the university’s security officials after they were informed of the situation.

Public Relations Officer of UNILAG, Toyin Adebule, said, “I have confirmed it myself. There is one Dr.Taiwo involved and the case was reported at our security post. The attention of the management has been drawn to the case and we are taking action. It is still under investigation.

“The dean and head of department where he works have been informed and the university has requested that the lecturer should come for questioning. We don’t condone indiscipline, hooliganism and violence from anybody at any level.

“The university is taking up the matter seriously and we will never leave any stone unturned until we get to the root of the matter. It could be cultism, money or anything. We want to know what caused the matter and we will get back to you. We have asked the security to go after him.”
