Premable.
I decided to write this article after having an heart to heart discussion with a friend of mine. I had just finished a consulting session with a client of ours who is about to launch new content . i decided to grap something go eat ,and then put finishing touches to my speech which will be delivered at the Nigeria digital conference later in the day. I was to deliver a lecture on music digitalization in 2015 at the conference along side the director of the 960music group Mr Mark Redguard. I drove down in the company of my friend ,delivered a wonderful lecture but we noticed something .

In about over 2500 participant, ranging from music artist managers,label CEOS,content providers,music artists,song writers, stylist, music consultant and many more. I do not see anybody from the gospel music industry . my point is you hardly find gospel artist/ministers attending conferences like this. I felt bad in my spirit because the truth remains that we cannot isolate ourself from the world we are suppose to save.

I see a lot of gospel music conferences being organised today and seriously we talking about the same thing over and over again.not that I have a problem with our spirituality, I understand the scope of our calling. But we need to leverage into the new age wisdom of selling and packaging content. Content for me refers to our music, the sound .

My self and my friend had a serious discussion about the gospel music industry as I drive back home. So I decided to write.

Note of warning ….
What you are about to read might not sound spiritual. Am not even going to quote scriptures .its basically from a professional stand point.

Having run a PR FIRM for more than four years ,have consulted for the A LIST and the B list . Ave come to discover secrets that the so called secular artist knows that the gospel artist don’t know. My focus is to open our eyes to new ways . I hope this article will bless someone out there .

Internet marketing ….

If you are trying to reach a global audience then this will benefit you. In the last 10yrs or so. Over 400million units of musical content were sold online all over the word. (Pls Google for statistics) . if you really want to be impactful you cannot avoid understand ing how to push and sell your content online.

The Internet has created a seismic shift in the music industry. Traditional physical marketing outlets, while still important, have been augmented with a variety of online-based marketing, sales, and distribution outlets, all of which require their own specific marketing approaches and strategies.

Why? The industry has moved.
People still buy Cds on the road side I know but check the statistics and numbers. Spinlet is bigger than Alaba. Spinlet delivers over 3million music contents to their subscribers every month.. Am not sure over 3million contents comes out of Alaba. Everything and everyone is moving gradually to internet sales. We need to understand that we can sell more ,reach more people and make more money if we embrace the wisdom of internet marketing .

We need to get our music on this platform. We will reach more people and sell more content and of course make more money. The era of cds will soon fade away …I said “soon”

Pregnant Malorie Bantala was pushed to ground and kicked in stomach

A mother has spoken of her horror at finding her heavily pregnant daughter moments after she was kicked so hard in the stomach by two helmet-wearing thugs that she lost her baby.

Malorie Bantala, 21, who was 32 weeks pregnant, was pushed to the ground by men who stamped on her ‘clearly visible’ stomach in an attack which was ‘tantamount to murder’, according to detectives.

She was taken to a south London hospital after the attack near her home in Peckham on Monday, but medics discovered there was no foetal heart beat and the baby had died.

Malorie is now fighting for her life in a ‘critical condition’ after suffering internal bleeding and she was transferred to an intensive care unit overnight.
Her mother Ida, 49, said she was upstairs in her flat when someone came screaming to her door shouting: ‘Malorie’s mum, Malorie’s mum, come quickly.’

She said: ‘I rushed down and there she was just lying on the pavement with the police.
‘She was just crying and crying.

‘If you see your daughter like that, it’s awful. Words can’t explain it.

‘Then an about an hour later maybe they took her to hospital and I went with her.

‘Malorie was so excited about having the baby and we were all pleased for her. I wanted to be a grandma. She was so happy and now she is sick in hospital.’

The suspects, both black men aged in their 20s, ran off in the direction of Denmark Road still wearing crash helmets after the attack near.....

Popular UK-based Nigerian clergyman and Senior Pastor of RCCG Trinity Chapel, Sola Fola-Alade has announced his exit from the church.

He bows out to pursue his own ministry after 20 years on the saddle as the shepherd of the popular UK Parish of the RCCG.

The much-loved pastor, speaker and author broke the news to a shocked members of his church over the weekend.

And since then, there has been an out-pouring of emotions and goodwill to the pastor and his family across different platforms.

As the above scripture states, life is lived in seasons and there is a God appointed season to fulfill every purpose and discharge every assignment that God gives.

It is with this in mind and a heavy heart that I announce the end of over 22 years of being a committed and proud member of the RCCG and close to a 20 year season of being the Pastor of the wonderful RCCG Trinity Chapel family.
God has given me a new assignment to fulfill, and it requires that I step out of the RCCG system to fulfill it.

Once God spoke to me about starting this new work, I have fasted over an extended period and prayed again and again; and God has reiterated and confirmed it in many different ways. I also prayed carefully and sought counsel and confirmation from my Spiritual Mentors and Elders because I fully appreciate the gravity of this decision.

Informing my Spiritual Father
Last week I travelled to Lagos, Nigeria to have a father and son talk with my spiritual father, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, in order to inform him of what God spoke to me. After I shared my heart with him and my conviction about what God has told me, Daddy G.O. blessed me and released me.
He was very gracious and warm to me and reassured me that I will always remain his son.

A Tribute to God’s General
In my personal estimation Pastor E.A. Adeboye is the greatest and yet the simplest man of God on earth today.
I personally believe I would have fulfilled destiny if I can accomplish only a fraction of what he has achieved in his lifetime. I continue to honour, respect and esteem highly.
The same way I left my natural fathers house, but I have remained his son, I leave the RCCG family that is led by my spiritual father pastor Adeboye but remain his son.

Dr. Becky Enenche, wife of the senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja, Dr. Paul Enenche has banned kissing, hugging and pecking in the church.

The pastor’s wife said such act would no longer be tolerated in the church.

Less than 24 hours after Capital Oil CEO, Ifeanyi Ubah announced its release of 13 million litres of oil, Nigerians have stormed the oil depot of the company.

A long queue was witnessed at the Berger Depot of the company as motorist waited eagerly in anticipation to purchase the fuel.

One motorist disclosed that the cars had began to queue up as early as 1am in the morning. As at time of filing this report, the queue has spilled into the expressway causing serious gridlock and impeding other motorists.

Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has

absolved the Jonathan administration of blame in the inability of some state governments to pay their workers’ salaries.

It said the governors of such states should be blamed for the development in their states because they were told through the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee to make the issue of wage a priority.

The Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, said this in a statement by her Special Adviser on Communications, Paul Nwabuikwu.

The statement was necessitated by the All Progressives Congress governors’ claim that the negative manner the outgoing Goodluck Jonathan administration was running the economy had made it difficult for them to pay salaries regularly.

But Okonjo-Iweala said that despite the 50 per cent drop in gross federally collectible revenue, the Federal Government had made the issue of workers’ salaries a top priority in order to ensure that the “people do not feel the negative impact of the revenue drop on the economy.”

For instance, the minister said that contrary to the “misinformation being put forward by certain governors to the effect that federal workers are being owed, staff salaries at the Federal level are up-to-date.”

She said in the five paragraph statement that the states, being one of the three tiers of government that receive monthly allocations from the Federation Account, should be blamed for their predicament.

The statement read, “This is to clarify the misinformation put forward by certain governors to the effect that Federal workers are being owed salaries.

“This is incorrect. Staff salaries at the Federal level are up-to-date; workers have received their April salaries.

“Regarding difficulties in salary payments, certain governors are trying to blame the Federal Government for their predicament. This is wrong. They had been told through the FAAC to prioritise salaries but they chose not to do so, hence the backlog that some states are experiencing.

“The 50 per cent drop in revenues simply means that salaries should be prioritised. The Federal Government should not be blamed for avoidable mistakes made at the state level.”

The APC governors had during a meeting with the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, in Abuja on Tuesday, expressed frustrations about their inability to pay workers’ salaries.

They therefore appealed to Buhari to consider a bailout plan for all the 36 state governments after his inauguration on May 29.

They said, “One of the issues that became of concern to all of us is the state of the Nigerian economy which is really in a bad shape.

“We have come to notify the incoming president of the challenges ahead of him. As it stands today, most states of the federation have not been able to pay salaries and even the Federal Government has not paid April salaries and that is very worrisome, by May and June, that (salaries) will be in cumulative of three months.

“We wonder with the huge expectation of Nigerians and people who have voted us into power, we are hoping that the president-elect will do everything humanly possible to bring about a bailout not only for the states but the Federal Government, at least for people to get their salaries and turn around the economy.”

Amir Khan insists he could make bout despite commitment to Ramadan
Amir Khan has revealed he could be ready to fight Floyd Mayweather in September.

Due to his commitment to Ramadan, Khan has not fought at that time of year since his devastating defeat by Breidis Prescott in 2008.

But with the Muslim holiday over in mid-July, Khan believes that would leave him enough time to train for what Mayweather insists will be his final fight.

Reports have it that about 40 men who rode in okada were seen blocking the roundabout on Admiralty Way in Lekki Phase 1, leading to Lekki/Ikoyi link bridge.

In his first Instagram post since winning the Bout “fight of the century” last weekend, Floyd Mayweather comes on to Pacquaio, dissing him for giving excuses for losing.
The fight of the century has come and gone but its memories will linger for a a while still.
The bout saw Mayweather emerging victorious and extending his undefeated streak to 48-0 but not everyone was happy with his victory especially fans from the Pacquaio divide who felt he didn’t deserve to win.

Investigations by the Ondo State Government has revealed that the mystery ailment that has killed 18 was caused by consumption of a mixture of locally brewed drink with herbs by some youths.

The new claims is at variance with a World Health Organization report on Monday that identified ‘pesticide poisoning’ as the cause of the ailment.

Officials from the world health body have visited Irele town, the state Health Commissioner, Dayo Adeyanju, said.

Mr. Adeyanju said some youth consumed an alcoholic drink mixed with local herbs and said the drink was poisonous and contained methanol.

Mr. Adeyanju said 18 people had been confirmed dead and five were receiving treatment at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.

In the past 100 hours, there has been no new case of the disease, and there has been no new fatality in the last 72 hours, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Health, Fidelis Nwankwo, said.

The minister said the government was investigating the particular poisonous methanol substance involved in the outbreak, and assured that the stability achieved in the last few days will be sustained.

The strange disease broke out in the Ode-Irele community of Ondo state last week, leading to the several deaths. There have been conflicting number of deaths with some saying at least 28 people died.

Residents say the disease spread rapidly around the community and killed its victims within 24 hours after they developed loss of vision and severe headache.

WHO spokesman, Gregory Hartl, had said the “current hypothesis is cause of the event is herbicides”.

Tiwa savage’s hubby, Teebillz earlier today criticized and called out Ghanaian actress, Joselyn Dumas on Instagram pointing out that her and her new management, ‘Restless Talent’ lacked the basic understanding of Branding.

The Joselyn Dumas camp has since responded to this ‘hilarious claims and accusations made by Teebillz and has made attempts to clarify the allegations.

The TV star’s management said TeeBillz was unknown to them before now and they were shocked with his post.

A representative of Restless Management, Inya Lawal, who handles Joselyn Dumas’s project said: “Last week, we noticed that photos of Joselyn were altered and being used to promote a song by TeeBillz.

Those photos were used without permission, we didn’t know about it, so we contacted him, wrote him officially to take it down.

“He had no intentions of taking the photos down until we contacted him. So we said to him, write us properly to ask for permission to use those photos and then send us the song so we know what the song says because he said his artiste was inspired by Joselyn.

“So we were waiting to hear a song of inspiration, but when he sent the song, the lyrics of the song was basically Joselyn’s body and how he’ll give her money and she’ll give him her body, so we said to him that we can’t associate our brand with those kind of useless and silly lyrics. So we said to him, we are sorry, we can’t do that and he apologised.

“It’s also our style to announce any new deal we sign one month after the deal. We signed Joselyn one month ago and we just announced it this week, it’s the same thing we’ve done for others like OC Ukeje, Nse Ikpe Etim and others, so I really don’t understand what he’s talking about when he said he’ll teach us about branding. Popular Sekem crooner MC Galaxy has claimed that the HKN front man David Adeleke better known as Davido attacked him two days ago in Shizzi’s studio and he was badly injured.

According to the claim by industry source, MC Galaxy, Davido, B-Red, Shizzi, Davido’s driver, a guy named Lati and other HKN members were at Shizzi’s studio working and laughing when suddenly things turned ugly.

An eyewitness who claimed he witnessed the beat down said trouble started after MC Galaxy told B-Red that he (Galaxy) was more popular than him (B-Red). B-Red didn’t agree and they went back and forth. Then an HKN Gang member, who is a Ghanaian artist, told MC Galaxy that he was not funny as a comedian. MC Galaxy replied, telling him that he was an unknown artist, and they went back and forth yabbing each other. They said all of a sudden Davido came out from the studio and asked MC Galaxy to leave.

Nigeria’s President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari is said to have appointed the General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare to head the transition committee.

According to a member of the All Progressives Congress, and supporter of Muhammadu Buhari, activist, Kayode Ogundamisi, Buhari has appointed the Pastor who was one time a running mate with Buhari during Nigeria’s 2011 general elections.

After months of protracted contract talks with eagles boss, house committee on sports chairman Godfrey Ali Gaya confirmed the news to AfricanFootball.com in an exclusive interview that coach Stephen Keshi is expected to sign a new two-year contract offered him by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) tomorrow.

The house had last week urged the Nigeria Football Federation to conclude the contract talks for the Eagles to focus on the qualifiers for both the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

“I spoke with the NFF president (Amaju Pinnick), yesterday and he said Keshi has agreed to the contract which he will sign by Wednesday,” Gaiya disclosed.

The 29-page contract offered Keshi will see him pocket 5 million Naira (less than $25,000) every month with add-ons of 3 million Naira for accommodation and 500,000 Naira for transportation.

Keshi, who first handled the Super Eagles for the past three years, has bagged a two-year deal that would terminate after the 2017 AFCON even after he failed to qualify the country for this year’s tournament in Equatorial Guinea.

A new twist has been added to the murder case involving a staff of Silverbird group, Aishat Noble-Mustapha, who was stabbed to death on Saturday March 14th, close to her home in Ogudu in Lagos.

Contrary to tales that she was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend, sources have revealed a cover-up.

A staff of STV Group, David Ubadike told Encomium magazine that a neighbour who has now emerged as the prime suspect in the case is allegedly cooked up the story.

“Aishat’s killers have not been established but the police have made a few arrests. Initially they arrested one Chima Shadrack Mmuta, the prime suspect. In all, they have arrested four of her neighbors including the said Chima and one Mr Ogundimu who happen to be within the premises when the incident occurred,” Ubadike revealed.

“The other two are Chima’s host, the people he lived with. Investigations is still ongoing and the case has been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Division Panti. No boyfriend or lover killed Aishat. The prime suspect cooked up the story in his defense. Every evidence the police has points at him. In his defense, he claimed he saw a guy beating and stabbing her and then drove off in a car. The police asked him to describe the person and car he drove off in, he couldn’t give a description. Also he was found with the victims blood stained phone two days after while in the police cell. He hid it in his under pants. However he remains a suspect, though he is the prime suspect until the police come up with clear facts” he said

On whether she was pregnant before she was murdered, he said; “Autopsy is yet to be carried out on her corpse and until then we cannot really say whether she was pregnant. The pregnancy stuff we hear is more of speculation. I have seen Aisha transit from a slim girl to a fat girl and back to a slim girl. Most people probably saw a picture of her looking fat and assumed she was pregnant. The Aisha I knew before the unfortunate incident was on the slim side trying to gain weight again. For now, its mere speculation.”
