Sadness, grief, tears and emotions ran high on March 9 2024, after the remains of the late Access Holdings Group CEO Herbert Wigwe, his wife and first son arrived in Nigeria. The heartbreaking burial marked the end of a week-long funeral rites to celebrate the life and achievements of the trio.
The painful exit was witnessed by Herbert Wigwe’s three surviving children, Tochi, Hannah, and David, all of whom couldn’t control the heavy tears and the pain of losing three dear family members all at once. Friends, close associates, and even workers of the late banking Whizkid were all in attendance to pay their last respects. They only had good things to say about the man who lived an impactful life and was a blessing even to people he didn’t know. Many people spoke of the late Herbert’s generosity, remembering how he donated millions to worthy causes and adopted over 30 thousand children in his lifetime. One Access Bank employee, especially, recalled how the accomplished banker started paying his house rent after he overheard his complaints of being unable to afford it. The employee recalled he had to formally write to his late boss to withdraw his help when he got back on his feet financially.

I took time to watch the clip from beginning to end and here are my views:

1. Herbert Wigwe was the type that gave out money to "daddies in the Lord" that he spent so much on the RCCG branch he attended with his family.

2. The RCCG branch didn't do enough to mourn the passing of Mr. Wigwe, his wife and son. The pastor's wife should have toned down her lavish birthday party as a mark of respect to the Wigwe's family.
That isn't to say she has no right to celebrate her big "60" yrs birthday. A modest party would not have raised eye brows.

3. It's when you're alive or rich that people will merry and rejoice with you. The day you die is the day the recognition, the padi padi and whatnot ends.
People should understand this and stop trying too hard to impress or seek validation of others. Live your life in a manner that pleases God and have it at the back of your mind that this life is not forever.
Everyone living now must die someday. It's a statement of fact.

May God grant the Wigwe family the fortitude to bear the loss, especially the late Herbert Wigwe's aged parents.

Before the family of the late group CEO of Access Holdings Plc, Herbert Wigwe concluded plans to lay the banking whizkid, his wife, and first son to rest. They made a shocking revelation that the City of David Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), where the family worshipped, were banned and not involved in the burial rites. Naturally, one would expect that the spiritual father and mother to the deceased will go into mourning for losing not one but three members in one day. Unfortunately, they did the complete opposite.
