raumdeuter: It is but not as big as we make it to be. The average Nigerian thinks without corruption we will be like Dubai. Even with zero corruption we dont have that much
The major reason is we dont have enough. We have budgets per head that is almost the worst in west Africa surely corruption will hit home more in a poorer country than in one with more resources But if we are less corrupt won't things be better than this despite the limited resources. Why not try to address the corruption as well while trying to increase revenue? Or is your solution for us to just neglect addressing corruption and leave the thieves to keep stealing public funds? |

raumdeuter: Let me put it this way. Eating an extra meat in the house of a poor man where things are tight does more damage
We are not rich enough to accommodate our corruption appetite
You are on a budget on Ghana want to do corruption like Arab princes So, you are saying the corruption is a major factor? |

BlueRayDick: GBAM!
Now evidence has shown that if government spends responsibly and accountability is a watchword , the state can actually afford these things .
Last year Funsho Doherty took his time to study the 2025 Lagos state budget and questioned some of the frivolities included in the budget that cost the state billions of naira without adding any value to the state . Imagine if such funds were channeled to 😏improve healthcare infrastructure of govt hospitals . Shebi we will not be seeing cases of someone being referred from Epe general hospital to LASUTH or being referred from general hospital to LASUTH, only for them to give up the ghost on the way 🤦♂️ At the end of the day, it starts with corruption and how to tackle it. I definitely think those suggested changes are within the capacity of the government. They just have to channel the funds in the right direction and maybe even try the public-private partnership route. |

swiz123: There’s nothing quality about LASUTH. Same hospital a GP doc nearly damaged my ears. They never gave drugs they recommend or anything for that matter. Ok |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 4:09pm On Oct 03 |
BlueRayDick: The point is if our leaders set their priorities right , nothing stops a state like Lagos from expanding the capacity of LASUTH . Lagos state is 4cking richer than 10 states put together .
Nothing stops federal government from equipping LUTH in Lagos , UBTH in Edo state , UCH in Ibadan , to be world class . When these facilities are upgraded and services are available to the people , the quality of healthcare in those facilities will improve and so will the life expectancy of people in those states .
Some of us talking about these things don’t hate government , we just want things to be better for the common man . Government officials and politicians can easily fly abroad for treatment , but not most citizens can do that . We are calling the government out because we know they can afford to fix these things even with the so called meagre income of the government It is not even about 1-2 isolated world class hospitals. Most casualties in Nigeria are not due to lack of world class hospitals but difficulty in accessing bare minimum DECENT healthcare. Lagos needs maybe 6 quality hospitals with expanded services and capacity. These hospitals have to be strategically placed around the state and not concentrated in one area. We need 5 LASUTH quality hospitals not 1 Cedars-Sinai quality. Upgrade 4-5 more hospitals to LASUTH standard to cover other parts of the state and reduce the workload on LASUTH and LUTH. Employ more specialists and create more residency slots. Expand bedspace and theatre suites. Additionally, establish some sort of functioning health insurance scheme whereby all tax-paying citizens have at least some of the services in the public hospital free or subsidized (that word again) by the government. |

popizaino: Sometimes i don't understand your thought process.
It is configured zigzag or somewhere confusing and that's why i people who debate football with you deserves special rewards from God.
You are neither there or here.
You don't think about the appropriate reply, you just lump everything together and make it my club versus your club.
When we call you out,you call it ordinary banter, and that we are being emotional. but even in banter, it has to be reasonable, not just filling nairaland pages for the sake of it.
Your arguments are on unreasonable to the very least.
A man united fan is telling you that yamal who is your own player will not surpass Lionel Messi who is also your own legend but in your usual wrapped mind you turn it to bad belle against his own legend.
Did Messi play for Man United? So where is the issue of bad belle coming from?
Can't someone discuss football with you from a neutral point? Must it be your club vs. my club.
How you turn a Messi vs yamal conversation to man united, bad belle, Rooney case should be the sort of conversation between madmen.
No be your fault sha,na people way get that patience i hail sha. I just dey observe the guy recently. Point 1: The guy jumped in to defend someone who claimed Yamal will surpass Messi. Point 2: He claimed that Yamal will surpass every Man United player apart from CR7. Point 3: He claims that Messi has surpassed CR7. Can any strong dibia align these 3 points please? How can Yamal surpass Messi who has surpassed CR7, but Yamal will not surpass CR7. |

patrickmuf: 😂😂😂 If you stan bad behavior the universe will eventually sort you out. I can't really blame CR7 for his selfish and narcissistic behavior because it is this singlemindedness and tunnel-visioned drive and self-belief that took him from a Quaresma wannabe to an all-time great footballer and GOAT contender. He won't suddenly change what has worked for him at age 40. The issue though is his fans that keep defending it and not admitting what it is; Selfishness, narcissism, lack of self-awareness. |

Hubris was his downfall. He got more and more corrupt and bolder as he got away with past crimes. He really should be jailed to serve as a proper deterrent. |

You're educated and exposed and yet you're here making silly body shaming comments.
I'm not overweight at all, last time I weighed my weight last year it was 95kg irc. I'm around 5.8-9, is that overweight? 95kg at 5ft 9 is worse than overweight. It falls into obese category. There is a formula for this. It is not an opinion. |

BlueRayDick: Someone once told me that as a graduate If I had joined the Nigerian police and was on the rank of ASP, I would have a police patrol Van at my disposal. I would have at my dispoal a standby Patrol team which I will send out daily and get retruns from them on a weekly basis. We would have an agreement in principle for them to remit a targeted figure which they must always meet up or get replaced on my team.
He said that's why I see most olopa on the road dey take their shake down business so serious and they would go to any length to extort money from you.
I'm sure most people will see the fresh ASP in his well ironed uniform and think he's a good guy while the olopa at roadblocks are the scum of the earth. This is to let you know that they see people primarily as victims and not criminals. Their extortion business is just easier for them if the person they are interacting with is an actual criminal. What they do is to either see you as a criminal or pretend to see you as a criminal. Your criminality is just a means to an end for them, and that end is obtaining you and meeting their daily quota. |

You don watch too much crime shows/ documentaries. Dey play. Something that has been used in actual cases in Nigeria. They may or may not decide to use it, but this is not a matter of crime shows or documentaries. |
