Another religious bigot shows up from nowhere.

Where have i mentioned his religion? These people make me wonder. So because i added an Alh. to his name, then you find it hard to sleep?

Political experience, that's what i mean by political sagacity. If you like, introduce tribe, if you like introduce religion- thats your cup of tea, drink it, pour it away, thats your own.

For well meaning people here. My concern is not about tribe/religion, but the experience they have in terms of political office.

Abeg. I am not tribalistic neither am i a religious bigot.

Where have i mentioned tribe here? Another tribalist shows up. Must you infer tribe in everything? You not only need to grow up, you need to be thought all about life's lessons and basically life is more than which tribe you come from.

come on.

Pastor Tunde Bakare for CPC and now Alh. Afolabi Tajudeen Adeola for ACN?

Strange bed fellows. What is the strategy here? Someone to enlighten us. Political sagacity is no more a consideration in choosing the Vice? and when they loose the elections, instead of looking inwards, they blame it on rigging? OK. What is their thinking?

because of people like you.

people who whine everyday about the state of nigeria, but are unprepared to make the sacrifices to make nigeria great

buhari instituted the death penalty for drug traffickers. today, nigerians go through all sorts of humiliations when travelling abroad , because of our deserved reputation as drug mules . that is jut ONE of the legacies of ibb's coup

nigeria requires leaders who will do what it takes to save the future, not incompetents who will preserve the status quo .
Just as he slapped journalists in jail for writing the truth about his administration. Whats your point? The sacrifice we should make is to vote Buhari? What is your definition of sacrifice?

What status quo? No be the same man say Abacha no steal one kobo of nigeria money? Will that kiind of man have a break from the past? Check CPC and see who the leaders and major actors are - the same people who had been in government over the years. So, who says its not going to be business as usual?
PoliticsAbacha: We Have Lost Faith In Buhari by againstGEJ(op): 1:12am On Feb 20, 2011
http://www.nigeriannewsservice.com/nns-news-archive/news-blocks/abacha-we-have-lost-faith-in-buhari

Kano State Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) gubernatorial aspirant Alhaji Muhammad Sani Abacha said yesterday that he had lost confidence in the party leader General Muhammadu Buhari as well as the entire CPC leadership over the outcome of the party’s gubernatorial primaries in Kano State. Reacting through his Deputy Director of Publicity Ibrahim Ado Gwagwarwa, Abacha said the decision of the party to announce Brigadier-General Lawal Ja’afaru Isa as the winner of the primaries despite evidence to the contrary, was the highest travesty of justice.

He said, “We came to the CPC because we believed it is the party that symbolizes justice, fairness and the practice of internal democracy. We have been shocked and scandalized by yesterday’s announcement that Ja’afaru Isa is the party’s flag bearer.

“The result that was announced and signed by Professor M.D. Suleiman, who conducted the primaries, shows that Muhammed Abacha polled 144,660 and Ja’afaru Isa scored 78,000. This result was signed by the SSS, INEC and the police. The margin was wide and clear. The result was announced on both print and electronic media.

“For Allah’s sake how can you manipulate the result and submit the person who came second as the winner? This is daylight robbery and we reject the announcement in its entirety. What kind of travesty of justice is this?”

Gwagwarwa said even though they have been short changed by the party, they believe that INEC will redress the issue. “Some of us who have been following the issue closely knew that the party leadership and the Board of Trustees were up to something. We were surprised that General Buhari will stake his reputation on an issue that is very clear as this. We have lost confidence in the leadership of the party and BOT. We are confident that INEC will surely do justice in this matter.”

He said they are not ready for any negotiation with anybody, saying the issue of even accepting to be a running mate to Ja’afaru Isa did not arise because they were the clear winner of the primaries. He called on their supporters to remain calm and law abiding.

Meanwhile, CPC’s governorship aspirant in Katsina State Senator Garba Lado Danmarke yesterday threatened to institute a court action against INEC if, within 24 hours, the commission fails to confirm him as the authentic winner of the Katsina CPC gubernatorial primaries.

In a petition to the INEC chairman, Senator Lado, through his counsel Mr. Rickey Tarfa (SAN), declared that in the gubernatorial primary election that was monitored by INEC officials in Katsina State, he emerged the winner by an overwhelming margin.

He said in the petition, “It is our instructions, that your duly accredited representatives were detailed to attend, monitor and report on the outcome of the party primaries held on 15th January, 2011 in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2010 as amended.

“In respect of Katsina State, your monitoring team comprised Messrs Nuhu Ajiyana Audu, Mohammed Abbani Takai and Muntari  Abu who monitored and duly endorsed the conduct and outcome of the primaries. On this ground, we want the INEC to forthwith direct the return from the National Leadership of CPC the authentic list of successful candidates at the party primaries held in Katina State dully endorsed by INEC monitoring team; in place of the doctored version believed to have been forwarded to INEC today.”

The petition further stated that if within 24 hours INEC fails to retrieve the names of successful candidates in the Katsina CPC primary elections that was endorsed by its accredited monitoring team, Senator Lado would be left with no option than to commence a court action to seek redress on the injustice meted out to him.

Wadeoye:
@againstGEJ, if you want people to listen to your argument, you don't use the words/statement from a corrupt person (IBB) to bring down a disciplinarian. You mentioned in your previous post that "why did IBB overthrew him if he was, ". Even those that will end up not voting for Buhari will not see IBB overthrowing Buhari as a proof that Buhari was a bad guy. So, your argument here is childish.

The above is the reason I said we need to know the age bracket of the people we are discussing with on Nairaland - these are serious national issues for God sake.
U are gassing air. I wonder why he was overthrown if he was such a good leader and everything was going in good for him. I wonder why he hasnt been voted to power 2003, 2007, and why is 2011 going to be different? Because of Bakare? Childish my foot. Use something else, that childish line is so weak. ok?

What has he got now that didnt work for him in 2003 and 2007? Because the election was rigged? I am sure that will be your answer. Old man. Age deosnt mean intellect, its just a number, just like you have proved here. Old papa!

Name calling leads you nowhere.

You can make your point better without name calling. So, my offence is that I quoted what IBB said against Buhari? Ok. Whats your point actually? IBB didnt say them, or IBB didnt mean them, or what is your point?

Your argument and name calling is so weak, why not try something else? We should not use IBB's opinion to judge Buhari? So, why should we use Buhari's opinion to justify the coup of 1983? What is your point really? Name caller? The hallmark of Anti GEJ;s is to use abuse words and name calling - it doesnt work. It shows you as something else.

PoliticsRe: Boarding Facilities For Almajiris Of The Northern Part Of Nigeria - Gej by againstGEJ(op): 7:29pm On Feb 19, 2011
Some people just read the title and bam - makes a point.

The President said:

"Last year Valentine Uche Chukwuma asked what my plans were for itinerant scholars found mostly in Northern Nigeria and commonly referred to as Almajiri. Though I responded then, I want to give further feedback of the fact that the FG by my direct intervention made provision this year to build boarding houses for them so they learn under a conducive environment and grow up to be adequately prepared for life. GEJ"

Which "policy" did he mention? Did he say he will scrap their practice? whether it is an islamic injunction or not? This is how people cry for no just reason. He referred to them distinguishably as "Itinerant Scholars" - and he said "by my direct intervention made provision this year to build boarding houses for them so they learn under a conducive environment and grow up to be adequately prepared for life".

Meaning, they wont stop their practice, they will do it under conducive environment. So, which of these are you faulting? The fact that he wants them to learn under normal conditions? Or which of the above statement is a "policy" and which part of the statement is being faulted?

Na wa o.
^^^ I bet sampleton like you will see noting wrong in arresting child molesting parents and encourage child labour, early marriage and traffickers/trafficking. So because those involve are about 10million the we should fold our arms?? This guy really needs medical help

Dude! Stop for while and think beyond your belly and pay master.

Let me simplify that point for you again. If the government is serious about curbing this menace, put a proper law in place prohibiting such, arrest violators/defaulters create awearness on such and highlight the dangers associated with it. Shikenan!

When you create a boarding facilities, you will end encouraging the practice and there by making parent lazy in taking care of thier children. While  terrorist organisation and radicals will have the avenue to recruit more members and ofcourse even as dumb as you are, you know the implications of that. Look at what is happening in pakistan for example suicide bombings every now and then is that what GEJ want for Nogeria??. This thing is more of cultural than religion or are there no muslims in the western Nigeria, saudi arabia?? Why arent we seeing almajiris in those areas??

NB. Am on mibile.
This to me is contradictory to your entire argument. Basically, to discourage the almajiris from continuous existence, dont do anything about it?

I dont get it. This is what GEJ want for Nigeria? Looks to me like the problem of Almajiri started with GEJ?
