LOL Mischievous. I thought many said no when GEJ ordered the evacuation of Nigerians from Egypt? Double talk kills. |
Typical Nigerian way of accepting fault. Leave the accusation and hit on other matters. I wonder if this had been ACN accusing PDP with these calls. Many will twist the position of the mouth. |
LOL. Privacy my yanch. In Nigeria? Mucus full some brains. |
chosen04:Typical gooferian |
GEJ, please do not mind them. Remember they rained curses on you when you ordered the evacuation of Nigerians of out Egypt? |
when will you start the revolt? |
TewMuch:This just shows you know nothing about Law and the legal practice. There was even a call at 11pm. what were they discussing? how to rob a bank? or how to sleep with their wives? |
look at half baked investigators and poof headed judges. instead of facing the real issue, you are talking about MTN and stuff. is MTN the issue here? nairalanders are never objective in their comments, they just write as it leaks from their mouth. these are serious issues and for sure ACN and Salami has cases to answer. but as usual, blame it on GEJ. ACN my foot, Ribadu my yanch. |
This is too small. We need 100,000 Naira mimimum. |
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/02/senate-approves-n18000-national-minimum-wage/ By Inalegwu Shaibu ABUJA — THE Senate has approved the N18,000 new national minimum wage for workers proposed by President Goodluck Jonathan. The bill was given an expeditious passage as the Senate suspended order 79 of its standing rules to amend the National Minimum Wage Act, thus increasing the minimum wage from N7,500 to N18,000. Section 2 (1) of the National Minimum wage states, “As from the commencement of this act, it shall be the duty of every employer to pay a wage not less than the national minimum wage of N18,000 per month to every worker under his establishment.” Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, who presided over the passage of the bill, yesterday, said the new wage would alleviate the sufferings of workers. He said: “We have responded appropriately to the yearnings of our workers whom we are representing in this chamber. Today is a happy day because we have shown that we are conscious of the sufferings of our people. This country is rich enough to cater for everybody if we avoid the avarices of some few people.” Ekweremadu, however, urged workers to be more responsive in paying taxes to enable government fund the new wage increase, saying: “The need has come for us to pay more tax to support the new wage.” Senate Leader, Senator Taslim Folarin, who led the debate on the bill advocated the amendment of the Constitution to give state governments the rights to legislate on wage increment. He said: “I recommend that a more pragmatic approach should be evolved in future to address the subject of wage increase. There is need to alter the Nigerian Constitution by delisting of the subject of minimum wage from the exclusive legislative list to the concurrent list to enable both the federal and state governments free hand in negotiating wage increase matters separately with their workers which will further strengthen our fiscal federalism.” Also contributing, Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, said workers deserve more than N18,000, noting that wage increment must correspond with standard of living. He said: “Nigeria workers deserve it if you look at the wastage of government. It is also time for revenue commission and the salary and wages commission to index wages against cost of living. It should not be all the time that we should always come to the National Assembly to increase wages.” Senator Smart Adeyemi, PDP, Kogi who was also in support of the new wage said it will be unrealistic for some state governments to claim that they cannot pay the new wage. He said, “I want to disagree that it will be practically impossible for some state governments to pay. We have more resources to pay, states in Nigeria are richer than some of the states in West Africa, so they can pay. “The problem is mismanagement of resources and corruption. People divert money from this country to abroad for selfish gains. I hold the strong view that N18000 is not enough. I am also of the view that we should have a bill to review the minimum wage annually because of the rate of inflation is on annual increase.” |

"i dont understand why people want to put nigeria into chaos. what is all this rubbish. i have no doubt that nigerians especially htose living abroad have no clue what is going on in nigeria. just information cooked up they feed on. honestly voting ribadu or goodluck wont change anything. we are the ones to change." I copied this comment from SaharaReporters - which seems to be so true. They want bloodshed, crisis, war, revolution, and they want everything evil on the country based on lies and concocted stories the read on the internet, especially Ribadu sponsored SaharaReporters. The latest in the news is the fact that Goodluck wants to silence his gullible opponents by bribing them with national honours, and so the diasporians shout - death to Jonathan. Whats bugging them? LOL Watch as they spew their desperation and frustration with curses, abuses and insults. |
adconline:Even there are foreign made Nigerians all over NairaLand, and their patriotism is suspect. I am sure non of them patronize made in Naija goods o. |
Based on this: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-609593.96.html can anyone give answer to the topic? |
stine b:They did - read from the first post to the last. |
youngmonie:useless. |
my wife no fiti get belle - na GEJ. I wonder where in the world the President's duties includes budgeting or writing budgets for embassies. |
GEJ personally planted this bomb, I can swear. I saw him. |
this is GEJ'S fault. |
Really? NLC/TUC are government agencies? This is news to me. How can someone explain to me how NLC - Nigeria Labour Congress and TUC - Trade Union Congress happens to be government agencies? I must be missing out something. Lay your blame at the foot of these organisations, government is not responsible for them and what they do. If they chose to buy their buses from Armageddon, why do you put the blame on GEJ? Sometimes in future, if people find it hard to impregnate their wives, they will lay the blame on GEJ. |
Where did the buses on the fleet of the Lagos State BRT come from? I want someone with facts to kindly let us know. |
Dede1:Please start a revolution. We need a solution, not grammar. |
and you didnt read this part: Already, NLC and TUC have signed a contract agreement with a Chinese firm, Yutong Hong Kong Limited, for the bus supply. Money for the project fund is being drawn from the N10 billion intervention fund released to the UDBN as part of its mandate as an infrastructure development bank. The last time I checked, GEJ is not the head or member of TUC/NLC. LOL. The FG only provided the loan sir. Boosting the Transport sector is the contract with the FG/Chinese, buying buses, as part of the deal is between Chinese firms and the beneficiary of the deal - in this case TUC/NLC and the Chinese firm. |
These talks from people who dont even buy made in Nigeria shoes. How many people here buy made in Naija goods including the poster? |
^^^ What kind of a question is that? I am asking a question, you are asking what my point is? LOL. Or are you asking Dede1? Funny. He said "This is contractual deal cooked by GEJ", and I am asking what has GEJ got to do with a deal between the NLC/TUC and the Chinese? Or you want us to agree with every lie told? |
^^^ What has GEJ got to do with this? in all honesty? |
Dede1:Calm down or start a revolution. sentiments dont drive home points. A country of 120 million people not fit to be mentioned as a country? Even America thinks otherwise. Foul words and sentiments hardly ever convince anyone when trying to make a point. The wise ones just gloss through such. |
Poster. Give us fair and accurate introductions to your thread. |
If someone gives you a loan, and you take the load to the place that suits you, how come you are now blaming the person wey give u the loan in the first instance? No be FG sign pact with Chinese. Why cant we be objective for once? Blame the NLC for going to China. Come on/. |
