I used Oakbend in Houston before my due date since i had an emergency c-section and a premie.
Thank God, baby's fine now but i had unexpected bills to pay so the hospital bill is still pending.
Now they gave me 2 weeks after discharge but i won't meet the date and will probably need an extra 2 weeks

PRESS STATEMENT ON THE REPORTED DEATH OF PRINCE ABUBAKAR AUDU AND THE LEGAL IMPLICATIONS.

The reported death today, Sunday, November 22nd, 2015, of the APC candidate in the Kogi State Governorship elections, Prince Abubakar Audu, is extremely shocking and sad. I would like to express my condolences to the entire family of Audu and to the people of Kogi State.

However, the real question agitating the minds of everybody is the legal implication regarding the inconclusive Governorship elections at the time of his demise. To state it correctly he was said to have
died AFTER the announcement of the results by INEC and after INEC had declared the elections inconclusive. Admittedly, this is a strange and novel constitutional scenario. It has never happened in our constitutional history to the extent that when an election has been partially conducted (and not before or after the elections) a candidate dies. What then happens? This is a hybrid situation between what happened in the case of Atiku Abubakar/Boni Haruna in 1999 and the provision of section 33 of the Electoral Act, 2010.

In the case of Atiku Abubakar/Boni Haruna [which is now a clear constitutional provision of section 181(1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended)] the Supreme Court held, in effect, that “if a person
duly elected as Governor dies before taking and subscribing the Oath of Allegiance and oath of office, or is unable for any reason whatsoever to be sworn in, the person elected with him as Deputy
governor shall be sworn in as Governor and he shall nominate a new Deputy-Governor who shall be appointed by the Governor with the approval of a simple majority of the house of Assembly of the State”.

In the case of section 33 of the Electoral Act 2010 it provides, in effect, that if a person has been duly nominated as a candidate of his party and he dies before the election then the political party has
the right to replace him with another candidate and not necessarily the Deputy Governorship candidate.
Now, does the Kogi situation fit into section 181(1) of the Constitution as quoted above or section 33 of the Electoral Act mentioned above?

My simple position is that the Kogi situation fits more into section 181(1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and as such James Abiodun Faleke automatically becomes the governorship candidate
of the APC. This is because even though the election in inconclusive, votes have been counted and allocated to Parties and candidates. As a result the joint ticket of Audu/Faleke has acquired
some votes already. James Abiodun Faleke is as much entitled to those votes already counted as much as the late Abubakar Audu. He has a right to cling to those votes going into the supplementary
election.

There is only one problem, though. Who nominates Faleke’s Deputy? Unlike section 181(1) of the 1999 Constitution, he cannot approach the House of Assembly of the State to approve a
nomination by him of a Deputy. This is because, in reality, he is not duly elected yet. Therefore it is only reasonable to conclude that it is APC (Faleke’s political party) that should submit the name of a
fresh Deputy Governorship candidate to INEC for the supplementary election.

This is the only position in this situation that accords with reason and good sense.

REFLECTION
Recall that on the 16th of July 2015, a coalition of over 50 northern youth groups matched to the palace of the Emir of Kano, Mohammed Sunusi 11and submitted a position paper in reaction to the humiliation of northerners in the east by the Igbo nationalists and their state governments.
In that submission, the youth groups decried the move by the eastern state governors to impose residence permits on all northerners resident or carrying out businesses in their states.
The youth groups issued a two-week ultimatum for all northerners residing in any part of eastern Nigeria to return home and for Igbos residing and carrying out businesses in any part of the northern region to do likewise.
In response to that protest, the then National Security Council met and issued a directive through the then Director-General of the Directorate for Security Services for the suspension of the purported action against northerners in the east and appealed to us to suspend our action.
CURRENT DEVELOPMENT
Adherence to this directive however appears to be short-lived with the current development and signals coming from the east that suggests:
*Renewed threats of secession by Igbo secessionist groups solidly backed by their governments and leaders.
*Renewed humiliation and harassment of petty northern traders and residents in the east by these Igbo terror groups while their leaders look the other way.
*Outright utterances by eastern governments and leaders that tend to declare all northerners resident or passing by the east, persona non grata.
*Continues practical threats to life and property of northerners resident or passing by the east.
*Several other forms of incitement against northerners resident in or passing by the east.
OUR NEW RESOLVE
Worried by this ugly development, we the youth of northern Nigeria hereby resolve as follows:
1. That based on the current ugly development and previous antecedents, the north and its people are no longer secure with the Igbos in their midst.
2. That the loss of the feeling of security by the north is informed by the fact the Igbo are known to be behind all the present moral degeneration among northerners, brigandage, highway and other forms of armed robberies and violence; spread of peddling of psychedelic drugs and substandard goods.
3. That it is no longer acceptable for the north to continue to provide a convenient and secure environment for the Igbo while our people are deliberately humiliated and subjected to hate propaganda in Igbolands.
4. That the Northern Elders Forum and all Northern Religious, cultural and Political leaderships should within ten days from today find a way of conveying to the relevant authorities that the north in specific terms the north is fed up with any federating arrangement that has the Igbo as a component.
5. That the northern leaders should take definite steps to encourage the authorities to allow the actualization of the Biafra agitation so we would be rid of the Igbos once and for all.
FUTURE ACTION
For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to place the northern leaders on notice of our resolution to convene a meeting of all northern youth groups in Kano seven days from today to:
1. Review the commitment of the northern leaders to act on this letter.
2. Map out plans for widespread and sustained protests to ensure that severance of the present federal arrangement that includes the Igbos as a federating unit.
3. To mount pressure on all Igbos residing or carrying out business in any part of the north to relocate east and for all northerners in the east to do likewise.
