And how long does it take to grow from suckers to a fully grown plant with fruits?

Does it require watering? What's the management like?

Pineapple doesn't die, after the first harvesting, new suckers sprouts to produce new Fruits, so under proper management, you can be getting fruits for the next 10 years or more

It takes 18 months to produce fruits

If planted at the early rainfall season, it doesn't really require watering during dry season and if there is power to set up an irrigation system in the farm, it's a very good one
The management is weeding, fertilizer application and inducing it for fruits production

- What spacing did you use within rows and between row to achieve a plant population of 15,000 per acre?
- How did you control your weeds – Manual, Chemical or Mechanical?
- What was your fertilizer application regime like – Fertilizer type( Urea or NPK) and how many times did you apply this before harvest?

* I use both manual and chemical weeding
* We use more of urea cos pineapple need nitrogen more and i apply it 3 times before harvesting
