emeka51:Go ahead and register bro. I think there's no document to upload apart from passport; and even if there's, the others you already have. Certainly there's a place you have to fill your NYSC Discharge Certificate number, which you can input your call up instead. Remember the matching can take long, and it's better on record you have long registered. Even though I was through with the clarion call when I registered, out of ignorance of what's actually NYSC number then, what I filled was my Callup number (because that was the very bold number in my certificate). Up till now, that's what I have in my profile, because it can't be edited. The only thing to note is that should you be invited for a job fair or matched before you complete the call, then you have to ignore the invitation since you much present your certificate. Same thing you can do for any other job applications that you come across, unless otherwise clearly stated, because such recruitment may not have taken place till you complete Service. |
Oh! And the issue of salary was a great disappointment to guys during the interview! |
I only commend the fact that we all wish well for our dear country Nigeria. But never you even dream that Buhari will win. You better cast your vote where it will be celebrated. GEJ till 2019! |
@yahoo.com domain is always quite discouraging; and you didn't tell us the name of the company! |
Eve62:gis-tool.wyesurep.gov.ng/ |
Magnustochi:Were you exaggerating in above figures or ...? |
Amiable President's |
What is certain is that we have what is called formal and informal letter. (Permit me to ignore semi formal). Application letter means a formal letter stating your appeal for something. eg. jobs, approval request, etc Now, if you are applying for a job, you need submit several documents - CV and certificates. In this case, your application is to introduce (cover) the accompanying (main) documents needed to prove you are worthy for the job. Thus the emergence of the phrase cover letter. Certainly the subject might still read "Application for ..." So, depending on the writing medium, it can contain all the relevant aspects of a formal letter - which we call it ab initio. I mean that detailed addresses can be ignored if writing inside email compose box, but may be clearly written if to be attached as a word/pdf file. Now, if you are writing for instance: "Application for the Release of Fund for a Project" to may be the Chairman of your organisation. Here may be you simply need to state your budget in the letter and has no other accompanying document. So the normal name Application letter becomes clear. In summary, Application Letter is same as Cover Letter. Above is just my submission to the question. I was equally much confused with the phrase "cover letter" when I began to hear it for the first time during NYSC camping. You know how different money making persons troop the camp to catch them young in the name of "buy books and get certificate; we can help you write cover letters; etc" Thank you! |
rallymento:Think the normal website, which I regularly access both via phone and system is wyesurep.gov.ng, even though it usually changes to http://gis-tool.wyesurep.gov.ng ones you send it. |
salisy:The truth is that you are not earning just 20k. You have other multiple earnings which has no description. That's your question I guess? |
Is the time sheet out? |
Although he was actually sick, but I recall how his text message threw everyone off balance. The text read: "Sorry, I've been having severe nasal congestion with complications suggestive of allergic rhinitis. And so I shall be recording absence." So a better painting of the grammar can do the confusion/conviction easier! |
First, when will an Enugu man be able to marry an Imo/Anambra girl without finding it VERY HARD to convince relatives, particularly parents, to give approval? |
morewealth:Thanks brother! The issue of God's grace is indisputable; even Satan himself knows there's need for God's grace in everything. Also I wish to clearly state that I did not and will not make jest of those who are not being paid! Having cleared that, I still maintain all that I have earlier pointed out. I have done some study on this: some persons' employers entered an invalid account number for them in the very beginning, and they may not notice it since it's only the last 4 digits that displays; some have not had their time sheet correctly displayed in their profile like others; some still have pending hired in their status - which was even my case until the week for signing time sheet, and luckily we did both Accepting and Marking same day; to some their employer has pending issues with SUREP; etc. All these are the major causes of the problems encountered! Free from all these and the problem persist, then we need to collectively pray for them! |
Psittacus:And because of your continued inability to understand my point, I cease to comment on your proposition after this. Go ahead with your "awareness" and we the nairalanders will pay you! |
Psittacus:And the best way to get what you deserve is trying to do all that's required of you. That's why I insist you find out the cause of your problem. Because there's no way some persons will be left out intentionally. Otherwise they won't keep matching interns day by day. |
May I acknowledge that I have learnt something in this thread! |
Psittacus: |
Psittacus:I simply advise you and anybody in your shoe to "carefully study" your SUREP account as well as your employer's registration and compliance very well in order to unravel what has been causing the delay in your stipend. That's what you guys need rather than unnecessary noise and a share display of your inability to follow the necessary procedure. For surely the fault is not from SUREP, and cannot be intentional if all from them. I started this January and I got my pay simply because I made judicious use of all the info I tap from this thread. Same with many people. The portal is very friendly and yet many employer/interns still find it difficult! Bless you as I hope you will understand my kind suggestions! |
puntersmind:I truly can't imagine the quantum of stress you are passing through. Sincerely you are great! Meanwhile I'm still hoping to initiate a conversation with you on mail. Mine will be very straight forward. (mailtoaiikay@yahoo.co.uk) Thank you! |
puntersmind:I'm yet to be blessed with your email: mailtoaiikay@yahoo.co.uk Thanks! |
pswagz:The truth is that there has been no submission. Perhaps he has simply been saving without going back to Home to submit! Outside that, he as a problem with ... |
mikolo80:It's clearly spelt out in my post. GEJ till 2019; and hope you will also make the right choice by appreciating governance! |
mikolo80:Certainly I did not get your point! |
puntersmind:I don't have your email id. Mine is mailtoaiikay@yahoo.co.uk |
okpamson15:You made a good choice! |
puntersmind:Thanks for the reply. Let me keep thinking over it; whether abandoning the account could solve it may be after some considerations. |
It may be widely believed that just as constant advertisement ensures the promotion of a product, so also is unrepentant propagation of propaganda, character assassination an integral part of politics. Thus the reason behind APC’s success in brainwashing some Nigerians. No doubt, we are all yet to see the Nigeria of our dream; and that’s why the clamour for change should ordinarily speak volume. But then, a lot of people are failing to realise that change can only suffice gradually. The path to true change since began on May 2010 when President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan took the centre stage. It therefore, sounds very worrisome that APC presented to us a change of 30 years backwards and some Nigerians are buying into it. I think that’s enough proof of their strong adversary to the concept of change we desire. There were 5 presidential candidates that showed interest in APC, and so they should have proved to us some level of sincerity in the matters of change by presenting to us any of the three candidates – different from Buhari or Atiku. On the contrary, however, APC simply chose to go by the recycling process. As a graduate of engineering, I so much love recycling when it matters to issues of environmental protection and waste-to-wealth advocacy. But then, I know that a material can hardly be recycled to its original and exact product. For instance, thermoplastic water bottles can be recycled into different products entirely – be it buckets, bowels, hangers, etc. In fact, trying to recycle to original product could be described as counterproductive. Similarly, the likes of Buhari could be recycled into the Nigeria system, but not as a President again. He can be useful in advisory. General Muhammadu Buhari was in charge of Nigeria 30 years ago, when many people of my age who now constitute a large percentage of the voting population, were not yet born. I recall that right from Nursery and Primary schools, we were being referred to as leaders of tomorrow. Does it mean all our teachers have been deceiving us? Quite appalling, we have read, heard and greatly witnessed the catalogue of problems bedevilling Nigeria. How then do you expect that a right thinking AiiKay will believe that Buhari is the Messiah we need? That’s very ridiculous! I think it’s good we realise that the complexity of Nigeria’s problems demands the change be gradual. The change has already been initiated in the office of the President and Vice President. We need to gradually move further. For instance, some persons might argue that David Mark has been doing well as Senate President, yet it constantly rings an annoying bell to me anytime I realise it’s still same David Mark that was the Governor of Niger State in 1984! Very many of them in the National Assembly and State Governors are in this category. We should diversify our desire for change. Let many of them retire and play advisory only. It must be categorically noted that the term advisory has no synonymous interpretation to god-fatherism. Thank God the bond holding some of the so called god fathers are being broken. A typical example is the recent ranting and childish display by former President Olusegun Obasanjo. We all know he’s retaliating to a denial of his intended grand commander. I so much had pity on APC when I heard them celebrating Obj’s support. As at when I became old enough to follow the happenings in Nigeria politics, the person I met was Obasanjo; and based on my own analysis, I place him on the top list of the worst Nigeria leaders. For instance, it could be a sin for anyone to describe the 2003 insult and drama that brought Obasanjo for a second term, as an election. The same could be said of 2007, which I was a JDPC election observer. I think Nigeria should rather celebrate the permanent exit of Obasanjo from the political manipulations in Nigeria. Of course, neither GEJ nor GMB – whoever wins – will give him space again. MY CONVICTION THAT GEJ WILL WIN Now permit me to reiterate my conviction towards the unavoidable win by Goodluck Jonathan. It cannot be denied that we have not gotten to the highest level under GEJ, but then a lot have been achieved. Nigeria has been better and shall continue to be better. All the achievements of the Jonathan administration are verifiable, but it’s very unfortunate that some have chosen to keep swimming in APC’s constant brainwashing. A few of my reasons are: We no longer spend days on the road for a supposed journey of hours, because several roads have been put to shape. The railway transportation, which we only read on books and movies, have now come to reality. Out of the 40 Federal Universities in Nigeria, GEJ alone has 12 to his credit within 4 years, while Obasanjo had only one for the whole of 8 years - Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun established March 2007. It might interest you to note that many of these new universities currently rank better than some older institutions in the country. But some confusionists will keep telling us that they are not being well funded. Yes power problem is no doubt the number one problem of Nigeria, but successful privatisation of the distribution and generation should be regarded as good move. The National Integrated Power Projects (NIPP) going on in different places is not hidden to anybody. The building of numerous Almajiri schools cannot be a fabricated story; and that is a long term solution to the Boko Haram saga. The agricultural reform is not just a story but a reality. All the programmes by SUREP are 100% real. The aviation success story was not fabricated. I have friends that have got one scholarship or the other, purely on merit bases. There are many more reasons for my conviction. You can agree by giving me more or disagree by questioning the authenticity of the stated. I also should not fail to acknowledge one very importance of APC – competition. For the ordinary Nigerians, political competition is to our own favour. So I encourage more genuine competition. Let more parties be as strong as PDP and APC, not a case of 14 Presidential Candidates while 12 are just imaginary. Thank you. AiiKay …airing his opinion and firm support for GEJ |
puntersmind:I'm relatively new to this thread, just began the internship this January - having been matched during a fair in December, but I must be quick to register my gratitude to you on the realisation of your long time Messiah state to a lot of people in this thread. Now my question: I don't really like the company I'm with - both in terms of experience I will gain, and equally compounded by their refusal to provide any incentive, while I spend much on transport and feeding, because they work from 8am to 5pm. So I wish to enquire the possibility of changing. My email is mailtoaiikay@yahoo.co.uk Meanwhile, my January time sheet was marked and I'm among those expecting the dollars! |
shadelek:Yea, there has been many cases of such, each resulting in some ugly experiences. |
HOW SECURED ARE YOUR PASSWORDS? The rate of cyber crimes in our society today is increasingly alarming. Just as technology has offered us better and faster means of internet dealings, so have some group of persons succeeded in upgrading their defrauding techniques. As a matter of fact, cyber crimes have taken multiple dimensions. Initially one would think that information saved online is secured forever, baaed to the fact that they cannot be lost; and can be retrieved anytime, anywhere in the case of loss, damage or virus attack. Again they can be sourced from anywhere even when not with your original device. But on the contrary and quite worrisome, ICT and cyber security experts have recently began to advice otherwise; that all vital information be saved offline in order to avoid being tampered with by hackers. There is an Igbo adage which says: Filling a cup to the brim is a case while not filling it might mean an insult. Documents and information kept offline are prone to virus attack, system crash and can even be stolen - leading to a permanent loss. Yet, saving them online might mean exposure to hackers all over the world. So which way forward? Therefore, the safety of our information, both online and offline, are now cases of probability. Be that as it may, a lot of information are already online by the terms of their usage. We operate a good number of online accounts such as email, social media platforms, and most importantly, internet banking. Coincidentally, these are the major interests of the numerous hackers. Thus we are already their targets; and so must endeavour to stay safe, secure and avert the danger of braking into our bank accounts or social media platforms, using it to defraud others on our behalf. Password is the first line of defense against any cyber crimes. The tactics employed by these cyber criminals are generally geared towards getting hold of our passwords. Although there may be a few other means by which they can achieve this ugly aim, the easiest way their victims fall prey is by indirectly revealing their passwords or keeping them unsafe for the criminals to guess. Consider the fact that whenever a thief brakes into your house, he will first search your draw, wardrobe; raise your pillow, mattress, carpet, rug. So also have the cyber criminals got their first guess when they want to hack. And it's very unfortunate that a lot of persons do not pay closer attention to the security of their passwords. COMMON PRACTICES THAT MAKE US VULNERABLE TO HACKERS Ø Many people like easy passwords. Some use simple words like favour, blessing, password, etc as passwords; or simple digits like 1234, 2222, 7777, etc as ATM PIN Ø Many people use their phone number as passwords Ø Many also use their nickname or business name as passwords Ø Many also consider their year of birth as ATM PIN Ø Many people, especially women use the name of their son, daughter or husband as passwords Ø So many people also use one password for numerous accounts TIPS ON HOW TO STAY SAFE AND SECURE ONLINE Ø Do not use any of your public information as password. These include phone number, name, nickname, business name, name of son/daughter/husband/ wife/school, etc. They are all the first guess of any hacker. Ø Do not save your password on phone or any device. It should be memorized by you alone. Ø If you must write down your passwords, let the note itself be as secured as the passwords. Ø Do not use same password for various accounts. Surely this is very difficult considering the various accounts that we operate, but you can device a pattern to remembering all while maintaining their uniqueness. Using just one password is as much dangerous as using one key for all your rooms, shops, offices, cars. An access to one would automatically entail access to all. Ø Make use of strong passwords with a mixture of upper and lower cases, numbers, and symbols Ø As much as possible, do not use a pronounceable word/phrase as your password. In fact, very strong passwords should not contain vowels. Ø Do not share your passwords to anybody – even your husband/wife, relatives, best friend, pastor, etc. Be fast to imagine that their account may have been hacked or could be hacked some other time. Ø Do not believe any story that is too good to be true even if it is coming from someone you ordinarily should trust such as your spouse, relative, friend, pastor, lecturer, boss, etc. Their accounts are also vulnerable to hackers. Ø Do not reply to any suspicious mail or try to enter your vital information, even if you do not hit the ‘submit’ button. Ø Do not click on any suspected link. They can generate virus attack that will break and expose your security details. Ø Do not believe that you have won or could win millions of dollars in a lottery you never subscribed. Ø In the case of internet banking and online payments, be sure to use secure websites. Secure websites usually begin with https:// where ‘s’ means secured. You will also see the symbol of a padlock. All these indicate that the site is encrypted. Ø Remember to sign out after using a public computer. Ø Keep your browser and applications up-to-date. Old versions may be susceptible to virus attack and the activities of hackers. Ø The security of your passwords begins with limiting the access to your personal devices. You can make use of screen lock. Very importantly, you can dedicate a particular email address for your online banking only, and never give it out for any purpose or even write it down any where. HOW TO GENERATE SECURE PASSWORDS There are a thousand ways of having very strong passwords, which cannot be guessed by anybody. You can decide to use a particular phrase or statement to remember your unique passwords. For instance, you can memorize a statement like the one below and use it to generate a password as you may desire, and only you will know it whenever you want to key it in. Example: “I wish to keep my gmail safe and secure.” The following passwords could be generated from the statement above, which can only be interpreted by you. Iw2kmgS&S; Iw2kmgS/Secure; Iw-2-kmgSafe; etc As you can see, none of the above is a pronounceable word. They can only be memorized by the owner alone! That's just one method. Device your own means. CONCLUSION Nothing is as painful as falling prey to these 419ners; and so we must ensure to stay safe from their evil acts. Keep your passwords safe, strong, long, and impossible to guess. Make all necessary analysis before believing any information received online, no matter from whom it‘s coming from. And indeed you must realise that nobody has ever won or will ever win millions of dollars, legitimately, from an unsubscribed lottery as you may be promised by these unrepentant fraudsters. Kindly be warned! Source: http://aiikayonline..com/2015/03/how-secure-are-your-passwords-learn-how.html?m=1 |
. Cheers.
is alright. Alert things.
