Hummels followed his man to the touch line, the ball went out instead of going back immediately to cover his position, he delayed and kicked the ball extra when the ball was already out and was too slow to recover to position

Once the ball goes into touch, you as the defender is expected to retreat back into your position not be holding meeting at the touch line.

That is an amateur behavior and every sensible analyst knew Hummels messed up there. Almost every website who reported on the goal blamed Hummels for it. Its only apoche cra cra that would think otherwise

You are yet to answer the most important question - Where was javi, when hummels was with the guy he marked to the side? Who covered for him while he was at the touch line? No sound soccer expert will blame hummels and leave other defenders that didn't cover for him.

Why must he run back like usain bolt when he believed other defenders should have covered for him? If the likes of javi and co had gone into right positions of defending, the thrower wouldn't have thrown quickly. In fact was the scorer, hummels' man, that he left off the hook?

You should use your brain to analyse, you can blame hummels for being slow, he was never fast before, but that goal was not his fault. The ball boy was swift in serving the ball, and it could have beaten any defender who expected javi and co to have taken positions to shield.

In football, once your partner is dragged to the side, you the other central defender covers the space. Javi didn't do this, it encouraged the thrower to quickly throw and the scorer exploited the unguarded space and scored.

Hummels followed his man (the thrower), while javi was nowhere to be found for protection. This is basic defending which javi lacks, probably because, he is not a natural cb.
