The Senate President commended Senator Adeola aka Yayi who is also Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, for the programme which involved the distribution of ambulances, incubators, drugs to health facilities and empowerment items to his constituents. “What we will say about Distinguished senator Olamilekan, about his performance, his representation, is going to be weighty because we work with him. And I want to report here that you have voted for a very loyal person, a very prolific and productive Senator who works round the clock. “This your Senator, Yayi, has done so much for the Senate in terms of his productivity and I want to add here that Lagos West is controlling the economy of Nigeria. And I want to tell you why. Before the budget of the Federal Government is passed, you need a financial analysis of what will be available in revenues. “It is this Yayi and your Representative in the House, Honourable James Abiodun Faleke, the two of them will sit and decide on what is available for Nigeria to share. The size of the cake is decided by Yayi and Hon. Faleke. And I’m happy for you because you took the right decision by voting for him(Yayi) “So you have given Nigeria a very solid, very stable, very reliable person to serve as your Senator. timbros: Lukaku is number 2 in PK duties. [s]No one is arguing that fact. But does being number 2 make him immune to missing PK? Even Jorginho as number 1 misses PKs. I don't know what you are on about Lukaku scoring the PK. I don't do assumptions, I face facts. The fact is Havertz took the penalty and scored. Lukaku could have scored and could have missed, that's assumptions. [/s] So keeping Havertz, a 'short one player' that missed against Villareal on the pitch because of PK was a senseless gamble. timbros: And if they scored, will it be Havertz fault? What if Villareal scored the few minutes TT brought him in for PK duties? Whose fault would it have been? If it was TT's intention for Havertz to be in the pitch for shootout, it's the right decision. You need your best players for penalty shootout. And Havertz is the best left on the pitch. We had more goal attempts in the first half than in the 2nd half. Havertz was playing nonsense all day and Werner replacing him would have made more sense and probably won the match in full time. timbros: And that Segedinho's post makes absolutely zero sense. Our attack have been blunt from 1st minute to the end of the match. It was not as if the attack was sharp when Lukaku was on the pitch. If it was that sharp, we should have been 3 or 4 goals up before Lukaku left. Havertz is not solely the reason for our blunt attack. We made more goal attempts in 1st than in 2nd half and if you observe the timelines, you will understand that Segedinho was right and you are wrong. In fact Havertz was missing on the field until they gave him the PK. |

philip0906: [s]Havertz scored yesterday, you’re still hung on needless probabilities and pasts.
Secondly, a coach is paid millions of euros to do these things. They train with these players everyday and know their capabilities while you’re far away making assumptions.[/s] Like I said, you can’t know more than a coach.
[s]Thirdly, no one said he was left to score a penalty, you’re just a trying to be clever by half. I clearly stated why: His goal and assist ratio in finals was enough to let him see out the game and he ended up netting the penalty.[/s] This is the mentality of an ignorant soccer fan. Below was Tuchel's admittance of selection blunder last year. We were fortunate yesterday unlike then. Educate yourself and stop arguing blindly.

timbros: Exactly why you shouldn't be too confident of this or that player will score. All of them can score or miss. It proves that Lukaku has higher chances of scoring a PK if you know how to work with data. timbros: We can even say that TT intentionally left Havertz for penalty in the match. Maybe not for regular time, but shootout. Seeing that the first and second penalty takers aren't in the pitch, it is logical to leave the next best penalty taker in the pitch seeing that the game is heading to shoot out.
TT knew what he was doing. It is still wrong as they could have scored before the final whistle and cost us the chance of making history. Segedinho: Now that lukaku is off..

timbros: I thought the senseless gamble you meant is Havertz taking the penalty. My bad. I get what you mean now.
Havertz might not be spectacular in the game but he certainly wasn't the poorest player in the pitch. We lacked creativity as a team, it's not a Havertz thing only. But because Havertz have this reputation here, everybody will naturally attack him.
Kante had a stinker of a game yesterday, but because he is loved by everyone, no one talks about it. Go watch the game again, the number of times Kante lost possession or made a wrong pass in the midfield is uncountable. Of all the posts you quoted, it's only one person that mentioned Kante.
Havertz reputation will always precede him here. So the attacks is not surprising.
And Lukaku is not immune to missing PK so you can't say for sure that he will score. You are just speculating. Same way I can tell you that Lukaku, in that situation, will miss. All speculation. Fact: Lukaku cost us Super League against Bayern in 2013. So leave that talk of Lukaku would have scored it.
We see players literally shying away from moments like this. Havertz stepped up and won the game for us. Take it or leave it, that moment defined the game and Havertz stepped up and delivered. Give him props for that.
On a side note, come out let's talk about this guy... Sincerely, i wasn't going to highlight Havertz flaws in the match at all, until after the match, Amoto94 attacked my in-play post which to any sane fan watching at that time must have related with. Havertz lost his PK against Villareal last August, while Lukaku last lost his, in 2017. I will be stupid not to believe the latter doesn't have the higher chance of scoring a PK. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by airmark(m): 10:38am On Feb 13, 2022 |
philip0906: This is preposterous. Firstly, Lukaku didn’t play any penalty so you can’t be too sure he would have scored…players miss penalties. The last time Lukaku lost a PK was in 2017, Havertz lost PK against Villareal last August, so cross the t. philip0906: Secondly, you’re not smarter than the gaffer. Coaches who win trophies, usually do so by looking at important metrics and always maintain what they deem as the winning “model” which includes systems and players. This is fallacious in its entirety and always echoed by fans who see coaches as infallible. Coaches are humans too susceptible to blunders and some coaches had owned up to their mistakes in the past after matches. philip0906: Havertz has been involved in 2 finals with 2 goals and assists, no coach would haul him out for the sake of hauling him out…Guess what, Havertz got us the winning goal which justifies his being left in the game. So he was left because Tuchel knew we would get a PK right? This is lame. |

Amoto94: The main reason why Lukaku was subbed off was tiredness which will affect the team shape. Penalty is not a child's play and don't tell me that Lukaku would've scored it because the last time he was given a PK against Bayern he missed it during a final. What year? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by airmark(m): 9:05am On Feb 13, 2022 |
timbros: Penalty is not for just any player. That is why teams have players given that duty. In Chelsea, its Jorginho, Lukaku, Havertz and, I think, Werner.
Mentally weak players can't take penalties. Especially in this particular situation. Almost 120mins, tired legs, tired brain, in front of intimidating opposing fans.... Give praise when due. Dude is just 22! Give praise to a player that was pants throughout the match until he was given a PK he wasn't even instrumental to, to take? Ogbeni, Lukaku too would have scored it, no biggie. timbros: And that bolded is just laughable. Why do you call the decision of Havertz taking the PK a "senseless gamble"? He is Chelsea's number 3 PK taker, and number one on the pitch that moment. What made it senseless, and a gamble? Do you train with the group to know who are the best PK takers? Obviously you didn't follow our argument from the beginning. It was a senseless gamble by Tuchel, leaving a player playing rubbish all day for 120 mins. Scoring that PK didn't justify anything. Our attack was in comatoze led by Havertz, immediately Lukaku left. donjazet: Another rubbish display from havertz in quick succession. NinjaXmetahuman: Havertz is not just creative.
No vision at all. Ibime: Emotional response to a penalty
Bros played nothing DExponential: Disgusting match. Havertz and Kante should be stripped naked and flogged. |

Amoto94: It is obvious that you don't rate the coach so you will look for every reason to vilify him. As for PK being awoof it's a lie that's often repeated because it has a lot to do with psychology. As a taker is facing goalkeeper directly he's to decide where to place it without the goalkeeper saving it this requires a nerve and quick decision making if a player failed to do this within the shortest possible time he will miss more than he will score, this is why you see players shying away from PK duties because it's not for the mentally weak. Had PK being awoof Chelsea would have had 3UCL trophies in their cabinet. So if Havertz wasn't on the pitch, we wouldn't have scored the PK, right? Havertz was rubbish throughout the game and another good PK taker would have scored it. So, you have no point, it was a senseless gamble by the coach as even Lukaku or any player could have scored it. |

Obviously you didn't watch the match and if you actually watched the full match and still spewed this, then you have no business analyzing a match. Even Dayo with wack football knowledge calls PKs awoof, and if you thought Tuchel left Havertz on the field to score PK that nobody else could score, then you have a point. |
