TemporaryHansel: Hypocrisy is when you want us to hold governors responsible for insecurity in their states but Tinubu said the bucks stops at the desk of the president. Why didn't didn't Tinubu hold the governors responsible for the insecurity in their states then? Maybe because the likes of Obi as Governor, were not as powerless as Blueraydick posted and only GEJ failed in his responsibilities. Hence, why GEJ was solely targeted. Obi used security agencies to tackle insecurity but the Governors now can't. How best can you define hypocrisy?

Emaprince: Seeing what these governors pockets, they are all complicit in the insecurity as well. But then, the major bucks still stop at the presidents desk. Lets go with what Tinubu told us during GEJ admin. My post didn't absolve Tinubu as Blueraydick obviously goofed by jumping into that conclusion. I had blamed Tinubu for not doing enough, does that mean I must not blame the state Governors too? GEJ was a weakling to the North and everyone saw it. Tinubu should do better but he is not a weakling like GEJ. |

GodOfBanter: Why bringing up Obi into this matter? Is it that you people suffer from ED when you don't talk about him? Your gbolahan won't be strong enough to have fun with your lady? If you have sense you will know why I used Obi as a relatable example for an Obidient to easily grasp the point, but most of you have no brain to think with. That's why an obvious deceiver could attract such dumb multitudes as followers. |

TemporaryHansel: Blueraydick was right to ignore you. Obi's statement on Yahoo boys wasn't much different from what Tinubu himself said about yahooboys just few years ago. Why didn't you call Tinubu out when he made that statement?
Talking about hypocrisy, it's like hypocrisy have a new meaning. Hypocrisy is when you say a Governor is powerless and can't control the security agencies but you are aware that your candidate, Obi as Governor, used security agents to chase protesters away and gave El-Rufai 'hotel-arrest' when he visited Anambra. Like OasisX will say, we know what we are doing. |

BlueRayDick: I chose to address Ur post because it was clearly geared at blaming state governors when the FG is obviously in control of state security apparatus. Even states like Lagos where security vote is judiciously used, we still see crimes beyond the control of the state governmeng agencies occurring on a regular basis.
If you feel vexed about me pointing out an obvious truth that's your headache.
Before Tinubu became president we've been criticizing the federal government and after he leaves office we will still criticize the FG anytime they are found wanting. So better be ready for more severe headaches while he is president . Nigeria has been existing before Tinubu's presidency and will continue to exist after his presidency. I had blamed Buhari and Tinubu for not doing enough but you chose to be blind to the posts. But since my post targeted the Plateau Governor without mentioning your sworn enemy, Tinubu, hell must be let loose. If I may ask you what do you think the monthly security votes state Governors collect, is meant for?

BlueRayDick: This attempt to deflect responsibility off the FG will not work.
Deborah was killed by an irate mob; arrests were made after much public outrage and some of the perpetrators were charged to court.
Note that FG controls state apparatus like the police who arrested the alleged killers and has the responsibility to prosecute them in a law court.
What we read was that the police prosecutor failed to show up in court repeatedly to present evidences against the accused ( tons of evidences which me and you saw online including clip of the accused making a video while setting deborah ablaze). The magistrate presiding over the case had no choice but to discharge the alleged murderers for failure of the state (FG) to provide evidences against them.
Buhari was the president in 2022 when the incident happened so we all can read the handwriting on the wall that himself and the fundamentalists in his government don't fancy the idea of "true believer" getting convicted over the death of an infidel like Deborah.
Tinubu the moderate has been in office for 2 years counting and no rearrest has been made to make a statement that his government doesn't tolerate murder of non Muslims over issues that has nothing to do with faith in Muhammed.
Which of these is the faulf of state government? What would the state government have done to change the tide of things? Remember the state commissioner of police whose boys failed to appear in court to prosecute Deborah's killers are answerable to the IG and the IG is answerable to the President/GCFR.
I can go on and on to show you how governors can't do beyond forming paramilitary agencies who only carry small or no firearms in "combating terrorism and genocide", but the buck still stops on the table of whoever heads the FG.
If Tinubu wants to go all out to quash these terrorists and non state actors, he has the wherewithal to do that but we know the fear of loss of political goodwill won't allow him do just that.
SUMMARY : Governors have their fault but FG (Irrespective of who is heading it now) has majority of the blame for not doing enough to stop the killings. The fear of loss of political goodwill is making them pat terrorists on the back. Let's not forget It's still same FG that is integrating terrorists into the military It's amazing that you could react to my post when I didn't tag you, because your agenda against Tinubu must stay alive and you couldn't hold it. I remember asking for your opinion on Obi's comment on Yahoo boys, you sidestepped it and till now, you didn't post a line about it. But today you found time to reply to a post that wasn't directed at you, just to attack the person that defeated your Obi to become your president. Anyways, my post didn't absolve FG of any fault as you claimed but you are always aiming at the President even if local govt roads are not fixed. In Nigeria, the governor of a state is considered the chief security officer of that state. This means they are responsible for maintaining law and order, overseeing security agencies, and ensuring the safety of citizens within their states. They are expected to coordinate with federal security agencies like the police, military, and others to tackle security challenges such as insurgency, banditry, or communal clashes. Governors can also set up state-specific security measures and task forces to address local issues. The Governors are closer to their states residents than the President. Ask yourself what these Governors use their huge monthly security votes to do. Bringing issues of Deborah when my focus was on Plateau, and saying states don't have control of security agencies, shows how desperate you are to hit your target - Tinubu. We all know how Obi dealt with El-Rufai when he visited his state and how he restricted his movement with security agents. Was it not Obi as Governor that used police to chase away protesting market women with tear gas? Also, was it not you Obidients crying foul that Benue Governor stopped Obi from visiting his state? But now the Governors are powerless, just because you want to always blame the President. The hypocrisy stinks but continue. |
