Thiago Silva should return fast abeg.

Blast from the past, wahala for Timbros and co grin.

Tony Cascarino told Monday’s talkSPORT Breakfast that the Dutch centre-back is ‘irreplaceable’ for the Reds and losing Van Dijk for potentially the rest of the season is ‘a huge blow they will not overcome’.

“What is the loss? Just look at the stats, the stats are ridiculous,” he said.

“With Van Dijk in the team and with Van Dijk out of your team, it’s a completely different side.

“You’ve lost a passer, a great header of the ball, you’ve lost a goalscorer – only Patrick van Aanholt has got more Premier League goals as a defender [11] since Van Dijk joined Liverpool

“Every part of his game is a huge loss for Liverpool, and to find a replacement is impossible because he’s the best defender in the world.

“It’s a loss you can’t explain in five minutes, if you look at the numbers in every department, goals conceded, games won and lost with him in the team, it’s such a huge loss, he’s irreplaceable.

“It’s a huge blow that I don’t think they’ll overcome. It’ll cost them the title. I can’t see them winning it now.”

Exit strategy.

When a building collapses, the blame naturally goes to the contractor, not the masons or carpenters that did the manual jobs. Why? Because the contractor is the leader. He points and instructs and the workers obey.

Once the building collapses (7 goals conceded) we blame the contractor (VVD) because he terribly flopped in organising and leading the masons, carpenters etc (other defenders).
grin grin grin

How would you equate a contractor that directly employs masons, carpenters to a VVD, a player in a team under a coach? Was it VVD that selected Adrian to keep? You dey fall hand Limbros. Just go and sleep, you've lost it.

When things go well, VVD gets the praise. Why? Because of his leadership at the back.

But when things go south, everyone bar VVD gets the blame. Why? Because whoscored rated VVD above other defenders.

VVD is the leader in the defence. He organises everything happening in the defence. He points and the defenders position well.

Under his leadership, the team conceded 7 goals against a team battling relegation. VVD flopped terribly to allow his team concede 7 under his watch.

6/10 is not terrible, stop using english words wrongly.

VVD is a good defender and I will gladly have him at the heart of our defence, but it is imperative to know that as regards the Villa match, VVD 'flopped'.

I am responsible for my statement and it's inherent meaning same way to you Belotti and Krychowach or whatever his name was were great players.

When teams flop, as much as we would single out top performers or top 'floppers', we must be careful not to always ascribe team success to single players.

What some posters here try to tell you is that there are matches VVD plays badly and ofcourse you won't buy it because he can never do wrong.

Let's keep waiting though for the match day the Pool squad will concede 7 goals without VVD in the defence.
Nobody told anybody here that players don't have off days.

Forget other people's views, what i want to know from you is how VVD flopped terribly against Aston villa? I can easily tell you how Alisson individually was terrible against City, pls do the same so we don't see your claim as just hating unnecessarily.

Oh well, that was a sarcastic way to say 'your' own VVD who is supposed to be a defensive marshal was no where to be found on the day his defence was torn into shreds by the small boys of Aston Villa. Not City o. Villa cheesy

Truth is there are days teams as a whole switches off and it would end up in terrible score lines. Scummies vs Spurs this season, Scummies vs City that year and others.

My point is, no player is a superman maybe aside Messi and Ororo. So, trying to consistently prove that VVD is what you think he is won't fly with some persons here.

Make we dey learn how to let go sometimes.
You haven't proved the fact that VVD flopped terribly. Is it because his team lost by 7 goals, that means automatically all the defenders flopped terribly?

Well, we just watched how Liverpool lost 1-4 to City and won't it be inappropriate to transfer Alisson errors to Henderson that played as CB, and claim he flopped terribly?

Any statement that can't be proved beyond doubt shouldn't be made at all.

And like you told me, Bellotti have been our striker for how many years now?
I never told you Belotti was our striker, among other lies. I can quote where i told you Morata would be thrown out but kindly post where i told you Lukaku would win league with Man utd or where i told you we signed VVD.

Don't add lies to the discourse, nobody will give you medal.

timbros:
the problem with you is, you quote random people to make a case. Who is Mark Schwarzer to say Rudiger is not Chelsea standard? Was he Chelsea standard when he played for us? That is how you mentioned fredoo because his comment align with yours but you completely ignore Almajirihunter comment on the same Rudiger because his point is against yours.
Schwarzer was a professional footballer that played for Chelsea and trained with the likes of Terry and other top Chelsea defenders. I don't think you or almajiri the hunter, played football professionally for even Berekum Chelsea of Ghana.

timbros:
Every player have a lifespan in a club. This is Rudiger's 4th year in Chelsea. If he decides to leave next transfer window or the club decides to let him go, it's not a new thing. But I know you will jump in here and start reminding me of how "you told me"...

Rudiger is a starter for now. Deal with it.
Well, i have been supporting Chelsea since the 90s, can't drop the standard expected of our defenders, just because he has the same complexion with me. We kept calamitous Rudiger and allowed Tomori to go almost for free to Milan as barring any injury, they will pay the low fee.

Only those who don't want Chelsea to win big, will say Rudiger is here to stay, like you did yesterday.

I don't even know of any club that can buy Rudiger for 30m now, while any decent defender will cost us a fortune in summer. I pray Sarr comes back and take that LCB position from the calamitous defender.

Truth is that we hardly compare apples for apples on this thread and brother airm.ark is also guilty of this. So, I don't blame tim.bros for using 'oranges' as a base of argument in his discourse which makes it all interesting.

VVD is a good defender, but flopped terribly in that last disaster of a match with Villa.

You do not expect Timbros to overlook that very point so mark can continue with his gospel according to VVD.
Good, can you please explain how VVD flopped terribly in that match against Aston Villa? I know you will come with facts unlike Timbros, and i will like to know how he flopped terribly, because i watched the match live.

Rudiger is here to stay, at least for the foreseeable future. And he is now a starter. Deal with it.

Your support (or non support) is highly irrelevant to the coaches/boards decision. If you don't like seeing Rudiger in the starting XI, you can go support Man Utd or any other club.
It will, when his usual brain farts push the coach to the corner and send him to the bench in the absence of Thiago Silva who was covering his a.ss.

That's how you said Morata wouldn't be thrown out. Let your Rudiger play nonsense again, then you will know that Tuchel doesn't care that he is a German.

The point is some of you wanted us to stick with Lampard and just forfeit this season like that. If Tuchel starts messing up, of course he will get the sack too. But let’s not forget that some of you were crying when they hired him. Now we are only one point from top 4, we would have lost against Spurs and Sheffield.
Lampard had his faults but you shouldn't think Tuchel can't meet glitches on his way. In fact we were a bit lucky with that Sheffield win as their attacker missed a point blank chance in the opening minutes and also thanks for the subsequent call for that PK.

Lampard also won Spurs last season away from the Bridge, don't forget that.

Let's pray against injuries, so that his system won't cast when key players get injured and some fans start grumbling again.
