There is nothing wrong with getting good defenders. The problem is when it is over-emphasized like chelsea have always done for quite some time now.

The most accomplished teams are more often than not, the ones with the sharpest attack.

I know that the best form of defence is attack, that was why i was appalled when we were chasing a striker i knew wouldn't deliver as required.

Last season, we didn't place as bad as we played this season. We had a better midfield and a better defence than what we've had so far. What we failed to do was to upgrade.

We bought Van Dijk not only for his defensive work rate but because of aerial duels and the guy is a behemoth when it comes to that. They had 8 corner kicks and if this was the Liverpool without him we would have conceded at least two . Also Liverpool needed someone who could organize a defence and shout his lungs out. Van Dijk does that. Defending is not a one person thing and has lived up to the expectation of whatever WE BOUGHT HIM FOR.
