Danaerys goes around destroying civilisations and cultures that have stood for several years. Jon Snow and Sansa are both waging a war for a title that was stolen by their father.

The reason I don't like him is from a story telling perspective. Ever since his introduction, most of the King Landing's plotlines (Cerise, Maegery, Lady Olenna) have kinda stalled. I love the old King Landing where you have complex webs of plots and subplots.

I'm not sure why people don't seem to like the high sparrow - In a world where rulership is determined by birth rather than by merit, where absolute power is only attainable to certain bloodlines, and where people would go to extreme lengths tof achieve this power, the High Sparrow represents the common man; risen up to seize his own destiny from the undeserving, immature and incompetent Tommens of this world.
Yet most people tend to identify more with Danaerys and Jon Snow or Arya. What does this say about us as people though?

Euron is crazy and ambitious.

Joffrey was a little crazy, too. He only wanted the power to be cruel when he wanted because it got him off or because internalized his mother’s admonitions to ‘be strong’ in a weird way. Not that smart though.

Ramsay is a little crazier and a little smarter. He wants to play with people’s mind. Destroy them and kill them in horrific ways. He takes care of threats. He’s pre-emptive, pro-active.

Various other people have displayed ambition, yearning for the the power of kingship, for various reasons:

Stannis for his right and for justice
Renly because he looked good in a crown
Robb for Northern nationalism
Mance Rayder for survival of a people
Balon Greyjoy because it’s just fun to mess things up when you get a chance.
Daenerys for glory, vengeance and a dream of human rights(at least at the beginning.)
Euron is different.


Euron says he’s going for the Iron Throne. But he’s not.

Euron wants to rule the world. Euron wants to be God. Euron wants to bring on the bloody apocalypse and laugh like crazy when the world dies bleeding, flaming, drowned or frozen at his feet. Euron wants to take the bleeding red comet and shove it up the world’s arse.

Euron takes your rational ambition, your reason, eats it, shits it out and feeds it to his own bastard sons, whose tongues he’s ripped out. Euron eats his own kind because that is the kind of thing that makes him laugh.

Then he pumps you full of LSD, ties you up, flays his girlfriend alive in front of your face, demands that you bow down and worship him and calls forth Deep Ones from the bottom of the sea to take over the universe.

It would not be a rescue. Dany would come out of the fire. The Dothraki would kneel. Her menacing dragon would appear causing the Dothraki to scream out in terror and run helter skelter. Dany would be like, "Drogon, sit! Wait!". Then she'd go back into the burning building to pick up a roasted corpse and feed it to her dragon as the Dothraki watch. Then she'd mount him, do some air maneuvers, and then give her speech.

Drogon is unpredictable. It could have played out that way except that drogon coming when the Dothrakis are just being converted may cause disarray. The Donthrakis would fight back, spears may be thrown at it and drogon would roast some.......

You will observe Dany left the khalasar to mount Drogon before landing to give her speech.

Yes, her last scene was uneccesary. They should have combined it with the fire and boobies scene if they felt it was important. Danny's dragon could have arrived to feast on the roasted Khal meat that Dany so thoughtfully prepared. Her speech would not have been annoying in that context.

Dany's speeches are becoming cringeworthy. Her scenes as well. I feel this should have been what she uses to bind the Dothraki, rather than the fire scene with the khals.

Repeating the 'Drogon to the rescue act' would be too predictable. It's been done once, against the sons of Harpy. Besides its not right to barbecue the Dothrakis, they are her people.
The writers played it out like the xtian resurrection/ascension narrative. It creates more awe in her followers.
