I don’t see anything wrong drinking peak milk everyday, if you can afford it.
I’m always suffering from a chronic constipation and since I have started drinking peak milk everyday for the past 5 years, I am totally at peace with myself.

I used to go to the doctors a lot and I was placed on medication for life and had a colonoscopy test about 10 years ago. I don’t go to doctors no more because they are very useless for my chronic constipation. My best doctors now are oat meals and peak milk. I only drink hot chocolate milk in a cold weather but peak milk and oatmeal are essential commodities with me.

Every 6 months, I do get checked up for diabetics because of the sugar inherited in peak milk and oatmeal.
I don’t drink more than one peak milk per day unless I am not able to defecate for the past 3 days. Drinking 2 peak milk cans at time would usually send me to the toilet in less than 5 minutes.

Therefore, I don’t see anything wrong drinking a peak milk regularly, especially when you have a chronic constipation issues like me. Also my constipation comes from the foods that I eat. Like Agege bread, poundo and rice.

You’re lucky. It’s like I’m lactose intolerant and can’t drink milk without diluting it in very hot water first. And can only drink half a day if not I’ll purge. Enjoy your milk guy. White people take milk everyday.
Very good observation.

If he is popular enough, he wouldn't bother about who is contesting or not contesting against him.

Sowores campaign strategy has been mediocre despite his potential to be competing with the front runners. He has a media house and has a name in social activism. Instead of using that to promote his image and manifesto, he focuses on attacking other candidates

Politics / Re: Why Should Obasanjo Be Envious Of Tinubu? (picture) by akigbemaru: 11:24am On Jan 05, 2023
babaolofin:

Obasanjo is envious of Tinubu. Obasanjo is a coward. Obasanjo suffers from inferiority complex.

Mind you, Obasanjo is not only envious of Tinubu but envious of men of intellect and courage in Yoruba land because he is the least of them among his generation and generation following him.

He was envious of MKO Abiola. He trembles in the presence of Abiola right from their Secondary School days. Whenever Abiola visit the State House, Dodan Barracks, Lagos within the few months Murtala spent as Head of State, he made Obasanjo realized he was at Dodan Barracks to see his boss (Murtala).

I have written the inferiority complex of Obasanjo on nairaland many times. He was only fortunate in the military and the North takes him as god. In Yoruba land, he is just an ordinary person.

He doesn't want anybody to grow above him. He is highly intimidated by intellect and courage. He does not have spiritual, intellectual and physical stamina. He relies only on his military career protection to bully feeble minded person. Whenever his bully is challenged he falls like nobody. Late Buruji Kashamu challenged him when Jonathan as the President was afraid of him. He was expelled out of Ogun PDP. Out of frustration, he tore his PDP card. Apart from Military Career protection, he relied on the North whom he has served so much and who takes him as god. In the South West he is an ordinary person. As president, he bully the Kingmakers of Owu to choose his candidate, when the majority of the kingmakers chose another person. His representative scattered the process and arrested the other kingmakers, is that not cowardice?

He forced his son to marry the daughter of his personal / business friend (baba Ijebu). The mother of the son (his ex wife) took him to Court and used legal and spiritual means to end the marriage. The Yorubas don't take him as important, it is only the North that Idolize him because he has served them.

On Tinubu'case, I have documented that severally. Obasanjo fought Tinubu for eight years, Tinubu overcome him. Tinubu is more intelligent than him. Tinubu is more courageous than him. As President, he fought Tinubu on all grounds but Tinubu overcome him. Obasanjo doesn't want a man of intellect, insight and courage to rule Nigeria. He believes he is the best. He said Abiola is not the Messiah Nigeria needs. Now, he said Tinubu is not the Messiah Nigeria needs, this time he said it in another way. He is suffering from complex problems.

K. Randle x3

Dr John Kehinde "JK" Randle

Dr John Kehinde "JK" Randle was born in Sierra Leone in 1855. His father, Thomas Randle, was a liberated slave from Oyo, who had settled in Freetown. He later moved to Lagos. John Randle attended the CMS Grammar School in Freetown, Sierra Leone, before working as a dispenser in the colonial hospital. He saved enough money that enabled him to attend the University of Edinburgh in Scotland between 1884 and 1888, graduating with a gold medal in materia medica. Randle and his fellow-student Obadiah Johnson obtained positions in 1889 as Assistant Colonial Surgeons in the Lagos Colonial Hospital. At the same time, Randle practiced privately, treating most of the European traders of Lagos, particularly the Germans.

In November 1890 Randle married Victoria Matilda Davies, the daughter of the famous and wealthy Captain James Pinson Labulo Davies and Sarah Forbes Bonetta, Queen Victoria's god-daughter. Queen Victoria had given Matilda Davies the name Victoria at her christening, had bestowed an allowance of £40 for life and had given her a solid gold christening set. The queen donated the material for Matilda's wedding gown.

Randle resigned from the Colonial Service in 1892. He was angry that as an African he was given about half the salary of a European with the same training, and that he was being required to serve as a doctor in locations far from Lagos. Gilbert Thomas Carter, Governor of Lagos in 1891–97, said of his resignation, "My past experience of native doctors ... does not encourage me to place much faith in their aptitude for this profession..." Randle withdrew his resignation, but asked for an increase in salary to £500 per year. Randle was dismissed from the service in September 1893 for his persistent refusal to make tours of duty to the British military outpost at Ijebu Ode. He devoted himself to private medical practice, in which he was highly successful. He served patients from all levels of society, providing free treatment to the poor. Randle was successful in treating yellow fever and guinea worm infestation.

Dr Randle grew wealthy, acquired a lot of land in Lagos and had a significant shareholding in the Bank of British West Africa (now First Bank Nigeria). He was one of the famous "Victorian Gentlemen" of Lagos (in the late 1800s and early 1900s). He even went as far as ordering his food from England!

He was one of the leaders of the idea that an African Church needed to be created. A lot of Nigerian priests had received advanced formal education in the late 1800s, but this did not translate into senior positions for them. Some African priests had complained, but they were suspended on basically, racist grounds. In 1890 Randle was a member of a committee that invited the pan-Africanist educator, journalist and politician Edward Wilmot Blyden (a Liberian) to Lagos to support them in their dispute over the Niger Mission. On 2 January 1891, at a meeting attended by Governor Cornelius Alfred Moloney, Blyden proposed an independent African Church with Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther as its head. (An African Church was eventually established in 1901 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_African_Church).

Although Herbert Macaulay's Nigerian National Democratic Party (NNDP) was the first political party in Nigeria, many political associations had existed long before the NNDP was created in 1922. These associations were created to promote certain causes and fight for certain rights, rather than to contest elections. Dr JK Randle became active in politics and the governor of the Colony of Lagos, Sir William MacGregor, made him a provisional member of the Legislative Council in 1899. Dr JK Randle, along with other notable and legendary Lagosians like Dr Orisadipe Obasa, Sir Kitoye Ajasa, Sir Adeyemo Alakija and Dr Richard Akinwande Savage formed The People's Union, a political association, in 1908.

In my personal opinion, the main problem that the People's Union had was that it was not radical enough for Lagosians. It actually fought against some of the policies of the Colonial Government, but it did not go as far as Lagosians would have liked.

For example, the People's Union fought against the water rate that was proposed by the Colonial Government. The government had planned to tax Lagosians and to use the revenue to build the Iju Waterworks. Many Lagosians, especially traditional Lagosians, felt that the new waterworks would be primarily used by the Europeans and therefore the Europeans should pay for it. The traditional Lagosians were satisfied with the water that they bought from Da Rocha and with the many wells that were dug across the city. When the government insisted on imposing the water rate, the traditional Lagosians, led by the Oba of Lagos, Eshugbayi Eleko, staged a mass protest that led to a riot.

In contrast, although the educated elite, led by the People's Union, opposed the water rate, their reason for opposing it was that there should be no taxation without representation (this was similar to the demand of the American independence agitators). They demanded that the government should conduct elections, so that Lagosians would have a say in how their tax money was being used, only then would they accept the water rate (traditional Lagosians were not ready to accept the water rate for any reason). The educated elite, led by the People's Union, later capitulated when they were threatened by the government (Lord Lugard brought back the idea of the water rate and threatened the members of the People's Union with charges of sedition and threats of agitation).

The members of the People's Union also fought against the proposal by Lord Lugard to convert all land in Nigeria to government property. They toured Yorubaland and even went to London to campaign against the proposal. The government subsequently dropped the idea.

The People's Union waned during World War 1 and Dr Randle and Dr Obasa formed the Reform Club after the war. The Reform Club took an interest in politics and education and seemed to be a continuation of the People's Union.

Herbert Macaulay formed the Nigerian National Democratic Party in 1922 and Governor Sir Hugh Clifford instituted elections in Lagos in 1923 and in response to these activities, the People's Union was revived. However, as I said earlier, it was not radical enough for Lagosians. Herbert Macaulay and his NNDP vigorously challenged the policies of the Colonial Government, while the People's Union advocated for gradual change. The people of Lagos loved Macaulay very much.

The pool and garden

However, our main concern in this piece is the major contributions and donations that Dr JK Randle made to Lagos.

Dr Randle lived in the Marina area of Lagos (you might remember that I told you that Europeans and wealthy Lagosians lived on the Marina before the Onikoyi gave the Europeans land on which they built a European settlement in Ikoyi). He could see as Lagosians were being ferried from the Island to the Mainland and vice versa in boats (which were the main means of transport at the time). Every so often there would be a mishap and a boat would capsize and people would die. Dr Randle felt that the situation could be improved if Lagosians were taught how to swim. He wrote several letters to the Colonial Government, urging them to build a public swimming where Lagosians would be taught how to swim, but his letters were ignored.

Dr Randle then decided to do the task himself. He built a public swimming pool in the Onikan area of Lagos and handed it over to the Lagos Town Council to run. He went as far as donating money for the maintenance of the pool. That pool is the famous Onikan Swimming Pool.

Dr Randle also felt that ordinary Lagosians should have a park where they can relax in the evenings. The park and beach at the Marina was mainly used by Europeans and he wanted somewhere that indigenous Lagosians could relax. He therefore built the famous Randle Love Garden near the pool and handed it over to the council to run.

Dr Randle also made huge donations to several communities across West Africa. In 1920 he was appointed one of the vice-patrons of the Sierra Leonean Friendly Society of Lagos. He built a chapel and two schools in his birth town of Regent, and contributed funds to erect a science building at Fourah Bay College, Sierra Leone and to support science teaching there. He donated his medical and scientific books and journals to Fourah Bay College, and donated money for a professorship and medical scholarships.

Dr John Kehinde "JK" Randle passed away on February 27th, 1928 at the age of 73. He was buried at the rear of the Ikoyi Cemetery, but in 1940 his remains were moved to the front of the cemetery as a gesture to acknowledge his achievements. JK Randle Road, Onikan (between Tafawa Balewa Square and State House Marina) is named after him.
Sports / Kylian Mbappe: The Statistic Of The Man Destined To Shatter All World Cup Record by akigbemaru: 5:19am On Dec 20, 2022
France striker Kylian Mbappe is a World Cup and Champions League marvel who is destined to break all sorts of records, having already toppled a fair few.

The fella was ludicrously good in the World Cup final and he might well have a decent career in store.

* Only five players have scored more World Cup goals than the 23-year-old Kylian Mbappe (12): Lionel Messi, Just Fontaine (both 13), Gerd Muller (14), Ronaldo (15) and Miroslav Klose (16).

* Only five players have ever scored more goals in a single World Cup tournament than Kylian Mbappe’s eight in 2022: Gerd Muller (10 in 1970), Eusebio (9 in 1966), Just Fontaine (13 in 1958), Sandor Kocsis (11 in 1954) and Ademir (9 in 1950).

* No player has scored more World Cup knockout goals (last 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final) than the 23-year-old Kylian Mbappe, who is level with Ronaldo on 8.

* Only five players have scored more goals for the French national team than Kylian Mbappe (36), and only Just Fontaine has scored more goals for the French national team at the World Cup. He is also the youngest French player to score at a World Cup.

* Kylian Mbappe was the first player to score eight, nine, 10, 11 and 12 World Cup goals before their 24th birthday.

* Kylian Mbappe was the second teenager to score twice in a World Cup game and the second teenager to score in a World Cup final; Pele was first to do both.

* Kylian Mbappe is only the second player to score a World Cup final hat-trick, after Geoff Hurst in 1966.

* Kylian Mbappe is only the second player to score in consecutive World Cup final matches, after Vava in 1958 and 1962.

* Only four players have been top scorer at a World Cup tournament at a younger age than Kylian Mbappe (8 goals) in 2022: James Rodriguez was 23 in 2014 (6), Thomas Muller was 20 in 2010 (5), Mario Kempes was 23 in 1978 (6) and Florian Albert was 20 in 1962 (4).

* Kylian Mbappe is the top scorer in World Cup final matches with four goals in 2018 and 2022.

* Kylian Mbappe is the only player to score a competitive hat-trick for France in Kylian Mbappe’s lifetime. Before his four goals against Kazakhstan in a World Cup qualifier in November 2021 and three against Argentina in the 2022 World Cup final, the previous treble for Les Bleus outside of friendlies was in 1985, by Dominique Rocheteau.

* Only 18 players in Champions League and European Cup history have scored more goals in the competition than Kylian Mbappe (40), and of those just Eusebio, Alfredo di Stefano, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have a better goals-per-game record than the Frenchman’s 0.68.

* Kylian Mbappe has scored more Champions League or European Cup goals than Ferenc Puskas, Gerd Muller, Samuel Eto’o. Wayne Rooney, David Trezeguet, Ryan Giggs, Luis Suarez and Romario, among many others.

* Kylian Mbappe became the youngest player to score 40 Champions League goals in November 2022. He also holds the record as the youngest player to score 35 Champions League goals and once set the mark for 30, 25, 20 and 15 (breaking Messi’s record each time), as well as 10 (surpassing Karim Benzema). Erling Haaland has since beaten most of those and is 12 tournament goals behind Mbappe, with 19 months on him.

* Kylian Mbappe is one of only three players to score a Champions League hat-trick against Barcelona, and the first to score four goals against the Catalans in a single Champions League campaign.

* Kylian Mbappe is Paris Saint-Germain’s record goalscorer in the European Cup and Champions League, despite being 23 and joining them five years ago. He is also their second-highest scorer of all time in all competitions.

* Only eight players have ever scored more Champions League knockout stage goals than Kylian Mbappe (15), who has more than Wayne Rooney, Didier Drogba and any Liverpool player.

* Kylian Mbappe is the youngest player in Champions League history to score in both legs of a quarter-final, and to score at all in a semi-final, with those goals coming for Monaco in 2017. His first six Champions League career goals were all in the knockout stages.

* Kylian Mbappe is the youngest Champions League goalscorer for two clubs, which is ridiculous the more you think about it. He was quite inevitably the first teenager in history to score a Champions League goal for two different clubs.

* Kylian Mbappe is the highest-scoring teenager in Champions League history.

* Kylian Mbappe has already scored away at Camp Nou, the Bernabeu, Old Trafford, Anfield, the Etihad, the Allianz Arena, the Juventus Stadium, Signal Iduna Park and Celtic Park.

* Only four of the 21 teams Kylian Mbappe has played in the Champions League have prevented him from ever scoring. He has faced Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen just once, making CSKA Moscow and Napoli the only teams to come up against Mbappe twice in Europe without conceding to him.

* Mbappe has played 12 games against English clubs, scoring and assisting five goals each against Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham.

* Mbappe was the most expensive teenager in football history and remains the second most expensive player ever after his £166m move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2018.

* Mbappe ranks 21st for all-time Ligue Un goals (147) but is first for Ligue Un goals scored in the 21st century.

* Mbappe has been Ligue Un top scorer in four consecutive seasons; the overall record for most Golden Boots in the French top flight is five; he is the current joint top scorer in the 2022/23 campaign.

* Mbappe was the first player to finish as top scorer and assist provider in the same Ligue Un season (2021/22).

* Mbappe is the only player to win the Ligue Un Player of the Year award in three consecutive seasons.

* Mbappe has scored 253 goals in 363 career appearances for club and country, winning 14 trophies.

All trainer aircraft are equipped with dual controls in which the two front seat occupants each have a flight yoke and rudder pedals they can operate alternatively to control the plane's attitude.

The only way this trainee pilot could have pulled too far back on the flight yoke and lifted the aircraft nose too high would be if the young man panicked and OVERPOWERED the corrective nose-down, yoke-forward control inputs that his female instructor was struggling to apply in order to avoid a stall. If two pilots in the same cockpit are applying OPPOSITE pressure on the flight controls, the STRONGER pilot will likely overcome the weaker pilot and gain full control of the plane, for better or worse.

In this case, the male trainee was stronger than his instructor and was thus able to hold the nose too high for long enough to stall the plane beyond any hope of recovery, making a crash a tragic certainty.

Weeks after getting married for the fourth time to Olori Mariam Anako, a Queen from Ebira in Kogi state, and also getting Olori Elizabeth Opeoluwa Ogunwusi nee Akinmuda betrothed to him in Magodo, Lagos, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi will be taking two more wives this October.

The Ooni of Ife will be marrying Tobi Phillips and Ashley Adegoke before his 48th birthday this month.

Tobi Phillips is a graduate of Marine Science from the University of Lagos and a former Beauty Queen. It was initially speculated that she would be replacing Olori Zainab Wuraola who walked away from her marriage to the Osun monarch.

The Ooni eventually married Prophetess Silekunola Naomi, but the marriage ended in December 2021.

Queen Ashley on the other hand, is a chartered accountant and currently runs an NGO that caters to less privileged kids and widows through the Ashley Adegoke Foundation.

She has a Masters in Accounting and Finance from the University of Greenwich, and currently runs her businesses in the United Kingdom.

It has been reported that Queen Ashley who is from the Lafogido royal house, allegedly has a child with another man. Her late father, Jacob Adebiyi Adegoke was a Prince of the source.

Prior to his coronation, the Ooni was previously married to Adebukola Bombata in 2008 but the marriage failed.

After being coronated, Ooni married Edo-born Zainab-Otiti Obanor in 2016 but the union lasted for 17 months before their separation.

Ooni then married Silekunola in 2018 and the marriage produced a son before the divorce announcement in December.

Sad reality about Peter Obi.

He cannot change his bigot ways. His politics must always pander to tribal allegiances.

This is the same stunt he pulled to ensure he used APGA structures with himself as the Godfather to get Willie Obiano elected as Governor to succeed him.

He exploited the "deportation" saga to paint Ngige as the candidate of a Yoruba APC that was deporting Igbos from Lagos. Meanwhile he had equally done the same thing earlier by forcefully relocating destitute Nigerians back to their native Ebonyi, Akwa-Ibom, and the North.

Obi that could not maintain harmony between Igbos in the Anambra Civil Service, or between Catholics and Anglicans, cannot unify a country of diverse tribes or religions.

Obi's campaign will fall flat before December, as only IPOB will be left to support him.

We Nigerian youths are pulling out of his mirage and deception.

I don't ever think any country can be like the U.S.A on earth. It won't be in another one million years. The only sad reality about America is the broken immigration system. Anybody can be the victim of immigration, but American government won't chase you away unless you commit crazy crimes. I have seen people with no papers for 35 years and I, myself, have been living in USA for 16 years with no papers. I do menial job for $5500 per month and I could have been making up to $20, 000 per month but I need Security Clearance for my engineering degree, which requires citizenship. You cannot work with government without being a citizen and your green card only helps you for Stays and menial jobs. You cannot vote, be a police or correction officer.

Overall, no matter what in America, it is still better than Nigeria in 100, 000 ways as black society will always be dysfunctional as negroes can barely think straight or put things together with a bare minimum supervision. I will always thank God for making to touch down in America, as Yoruba says ogo for life!

*At the National Assembly* there are countless "Tinubu boys" who have occupied and are still occupying seats till today including N0 4 citizen of Nigeria, *Speaker, House of Reps*

Since 1999, the Tinubu camp has produced almost 98% of the members of the National Assembly from Lagos State. Forget politics, this man is a political enigma. Rewind to 1999, I am sure most of us have forgotten the names of the People who were elected Governors when he was elected governor too, some of them have gone into political extinction or gasping for breath politically.

Indeed, most of them are no longer relevant today.

Tinubu has not only managed to remain extremely relevant, he has continued to control Lagos politics 100%. Not only that, he manages to carry his boys along and today they occupy critical positions in our national life.

Take it or leave it, Tinubu is today, Nigeria's most powerful politician. It didn't just happen by chance. He worked very hard for it. Very very hard. The hallmark of a true and Born leader is not just the ability to rule well but also the ability to nurture and groom associates.

Tinubu is not like some other politicians in Nigeria, He is a goal getter.....

There is nothing he touches that doesn't excel.

- *NADECO*, He fought the Military to a Standstill.

- *AD excelled,*

- *ACN excelled* and

- *APC is excelling.....*

- *TVC* is one of the top TV stations in Nigeria.

*The Nation* is one of the leading newspapers in Nigeria, thereby creating Employment to many people.

- *He makes people,*

- *He follows up on them.*

- *He forgives routinely,*

- *He fights to teach not to kill*

- *He is a Pillar of Democracy,*

- *Mentor of great men*

*Please,Tell me* or Name a Politician that has this Records since more than 3 Decades ago.

*J-A-G-A-B-A-N is a great man politically...... is A JAGABAN OF NIGERIA
Culture / Re: Relationship Between Yoruba Language And Igala Language. by akigbemaru: 8:55pm On Aug 18, 2022
scholes0:
@OP look at it this way, the closeness btw the aboriginal Igalas (Akpoto) & Yoruba is ancestral. A result of both groups descending from the same ancestors in deep prehistory that is soo old that nobody recorded it. The relationship between Igala & Igbo you friend talks about is as a result of geographical closeness/inter-relationship along border areas & some culture rubbing off each other. There r even igalas in today's SE. So actually, depending on the Igala u ask, there are varying degrees of closeness with neighbors. Some Igalas will tell u they r closest to Agatu/Idoma, some will tell u it is Bassa-Nge/Nupe. These are all location induced relatedness.

Igala looks like heavily modified archaic Yoruba.

Many of the words are the same. For those that are not exactly the same, I observed the following changes/modifications.

1) I noticed keenly that they have evolved to replace nasal vowel (Añ, Eñ, Iñ, Oñ, Uñ Etc) endings in Yoruba with their open oral vowel equivalents.
Because Yoruba has 7 oral and 7 nasal vowels... but seems Igala has only oral ones.

* And also some consonant mutation in Igala , i.e (R to L), (L to N), (J to Bÿ), (S to R/L) etc....
Here are some RULES:

Rule A*: Nasal vowel ending words in Yoruba to open vowel ending in Igala. Middle diphthong eliminated when present
Jeuñ (eat) - Jeñwu
Igbiñ (snail) - Igbi
Ohuñ (thing) - Eñwu
Eyiñ (tooth) - Eñyi
Ọkuñ (illipede) - Ọkọ
Eguñ (ancestors) - Egwu
Oguñ (medicine) - Ogwu
Fuñfuñ (white) - Fufu

Okañ (one) - Oka
Oduñ (year) - Odo
Agbañ (chin) - Agba
Ouñ (he/she/it) - Oñwu
Ofuñ (throat) - Ofa
Oyañ (breats) - Eñya
Idiñ (maggot) - Ide
Ekuñ (leopard) - Eko
Tituñ (new) - Tito

Rule B* Consonant mutation R to L and vice versa
Kekere (small) - Kekele
Irawo (star) - Ilawo
Iri (dew/mist) - eli
Olu (lord) - Onu
Ro (cultivate) - Lo
Olamide (name) - Uramide
Iru (seed) - ilu
Akere (toad) - Akele
Ra (buy) - La
Erira (ants) - Elila
Ri (see) - Li
Ora (fat) - Ula
Oruñgbe (thirst) - Olugbe

Rule C* Consonant mutation S to R/L
Ese (leg) - Ere
Eso (fruit) - Ero
Se (block) - Re
Sø (throw) - Rø

Rule D* Consonant mutation S and SH to CH
It seems like the “Sh” sound in absent in some Igala dialects , and they replace with a 'CH'... These dialects that lack the the SH sound seem to have become the standard for the whole of Igala.

Sheyi (done this) - Cheyi
Oshu (moon) - Ochu
Ishu (yam) - Uchu
Ashe (authority) - Ache
Isha (pot) - Ucha
Shu (defecate) - Chu

Rule E* Consonant mutation J to BŸ
Aja (dog) - Abya
Eje (seven) - Ebye
Ẹjɛ (blood) - Ẹbyɛ

Rule F* Consonant mutation W to GW just like in the South-Eastern Yorubaland dialects
Ewa (beans) - Egwa
Ku (die) - Kwu
Gun (pound) - Gwu
Ekun (cry) - Ekwu
Oogun (sweat) - Uugwu
Wɛ (wash/bath) - Gwɛ

Rule G*: Consonant mutation L to N
Oluku (friend) - Onukwu
Ile/Ale (land) - Ane
Ale (night) - Ane
Ala (dream) - Ona
Ola (tomorrow) - Ona

Rule A* + B*
Eriñ (four)- Ele
Oruñ (neck) - Olu
Iruñ (hair) - Ilo
Aruñ (five) - Alu
Oruñ (sun) - Olu
Eruru (ashes) - Elulu

Rule A* + C*

Eshiñshiñ (housefly) - Achichi

Rule A* + F*
Egunguñ (bone) - Ogwugwu
Iguñnu (vulture) - Ugwunu
Oguñ (twenty) - Ogwu

Rule A* +G*
Olokuñriñ (man) - Onokele
Olobiñriń (woman) - Onobule

Rule B* + C*
Sure (run/hasten) - Rule

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other Minor differencess with irregular rules
Bayii (like this) - Abayii
Øbɛ (soup) - Øbø
Owo/Ogho (money) - Oko
Wo/Gho (look) - Go
Ijo (dance) - Ido
Monamona (lightening) - Omamañya
Oru (midnight) - Odu
Iwowo (nudity) - Owowo
Eru (slave) -Adu
Ehoro (rabbit) - Efolo
Adiye (hen) - Ajuwe
Akuko (coc.k) - Ayiko

And finally,False friend cognates
Yo in Yoruba = Fully fed
Yo in Igala = Plump / Fat

Du in Yoruba - To contest an object
Du in Igala - To take an object

Oyuñ in Yoruba = Pregnancy
Oyu in Igala = Fat

Ebo in Yoruba - Sacrifice
Ebo in Igala - Deity

Edø in Yoruba = Liver
Edø in Igala = Heart/Chest

Wewe in Yoruba = Pieces
Uwewe in igala = Many

ilɛ in Yoruba = Earth (as in land)
ilɛ in Igala = Earth (as in the planet)

There are many countless words that are exactly the same in both languages and need no further elucidation, since we are focusing more on what has made the two languages different over time.
That being said, there are many other words too that are very different... Hence the reason why Igala shares approximately only about 64% or so word cognates with the General Yoruba we speak. The 40% that do not align between both is already enough to make inter-comprehension between both very hard... The biggest chunk of non Yoruboid words in Igala is from the neighbouring Idoma according to some research.

With this, I would give a Yoruba - give or take 6 months to master this language under complete exposure like going to live in Idah or Dekina.

Yoruba is Igala Pro Max. Once you master the grammatical rule of thumb in the formula required to convert from one dialect gloss to the other gloss ... you will master the language sharply.

That NYSC nonsense should be scrapped. It is another useless program use to siphon money. And it is a waste of precious year. Graduates start earning money immediately in other countries while in Nigeria a year is wasted doing some military shit.

The purpose NYSC is to send people to another region away from theirs to learn about other culture. Today everybody works on deploying, what's the essence of the program? Not sure anyone eats the useless food they serve them.

smiley smileyExactly, NYSC is a waste of time, it should be scrapped, its puts graduate in danger and waste their time.

They should replace it with skills development program for the youths in the state where they studied, graduate should not be travelling about to be used by kidnappers.

I did my NYSC, and i did skill developments by myself, it is what enhanced my future, not that useless NYSC program, where they sometimes send people to unsafe places.

Or they can make NYSC Optional, for those who need it.

Its LA..not normal American price.
LA/NY most expensive place in America..you no get money.no go there oh.

Na lie! I live in South Carolina and the prices are the same. I have 3 same bottles of Aloma Bitter. I am a hoarder and every time I take a shot of Aloma before sex, the extra performance is guaranteed for me. I just keep them in case I need them. I used to buy the smaller peak milk with 48 in the cartoon for $40 last year. This year it went to $48 before tax and now it is $53 dollars before taxes. I drink Oatmeal a lot to soften constipation. The combo of Oatmeal and peak milk will always send me to toilet.

My apartment was $1200 for 2-bedroom in February this year and now it is $1800. I kind of fault government on that. Everything just skyrocketed. Also soaring home price! I have a friend who bought a gently used 4-bedroom for $220K in early 2019 and now worth $520K right now. To him, it is a blessing but for the new owner, it seems like a ripoff!

High cost of living is affecting every facet of America. There are so many items on the isles and shelves at Walmart and Sam's Club that have seen high price increase. For example at Sam's Club, I used to buy a cooking vegetable Canola Oil made by Wesson for $7.99 at 4.73 Litters or 1.2 gallons. That was late last year! Early this year, it was $11.99 and now it sells for $14.99.

I just thank God that with my job, I can afford them.

Ok na. The wind is blowing

Jakande ruled Lagos for 4 years, his fingerprints are still there for the public to see.

He established:
Lagos State University
Nigerian Institute of Journalism
He completed General Hospital in Gbagada and Ikorodu.
He built 20 Health Centres within the state
He constructed over 30,000 housing units

In order to fund the constructions, he increased the tenement rates and prices of plots of land in Victoria Island and Lekki Peninsula.

He also increased processing fees for lotteries, pools and gaming licences.

Some of the housing units were in
Amuwo-Odofin, Ijaiye, Dolphin, Oke-Afa, Ije, Abesan, Iponri, Ipaja, Abule Nla, Epe, Anikantamo, Surulere, Iba, Ikorodu, Badagry.

He established 23 local Governments council which were disbanded by the military when Buhari sacked democracy.

He also started a metro line project to facilitate mass transit. Metro line would have been completed by 1987. Buhari cancelled it.

When the Military Administrator of Lagos under Buhari approached the Head of State to reconsider the cancellation of the project as Lagos State would still be made to pay for it as per the contractual agreement with China. Buhari said “I don’t bloody care”.

Jakande was later charged, prosecuted and convicted of TREASON by Buhari regime. NOT CORRUPTION OR STEALING OR BULLION VAN, but TREASON!

Jakande did all he did in just 4 years without borrowing a kobo! Can any of the Lagos State governors even be regarded as being worthy to be ranked close to Jakande?

30,000 housing units in 4 years! 20 health centres. Oh, I forgot Primary and secondary schools too!

They had nothing else to charge Jakande with but Treason! Not stealing or misappropriation of funds or corruption or borrowing, but Treason.

A man that did all that without borrowing or plunging the state in debt should be seen as the Father of Lagos!

Tinubu can't even use a single hospital to treat himself. That's how bad health sector is but his zombies tells youhe built Lagos ignoring Jakande

Education / Re: FG Committee Recommends ₦ 2 Millions Monthly Pay For Professors by akigbemaru: 11:13am On Jul 15, 2022

*MODIFIED*

2,000,000 monthly grin

As at 2019, Nigeria had about 11,877 professors (though this include both those on private and public higher institutions).

That means; monthly, the government will pay 2,000,000 x 11,877 = 23,754,000,000. That's over twenty three billion naira monthly.

As at today, Nigeria produces about 1.2m BPD of crude oil (Our main source of income, excluding mineral resources from the north which I don't know why they don't mention it. Only God knows where that money is going to). Using the official exchange rate of about 414 naira/dollar,
If 1 barrel is about 93 dollars, this becomes 1,200,000 x 93$ = 111,600,000 per day

that's a total income of 111,600,000 x 414 = 46,202,400,000 (Nigeria's income from crude oil).

THEN; 46,202,400,000 x 30 days = 1,386,072,000,000. This is over 1.3 Trillion naira monthly.

Boy o boy, This country is making money.

SUMMARILY, THE GOVERNMENT CAN PAY ASUU COMFORTABLY.

The black man is the greediest out of all races on earth. He only thinks of himself alone. Never wants to uplift others or even his environment. Always wants to keep others far below him so they can worship him. Other races note these characters and take advantage of him but will use the wealth to develop their environment.

You can imagine if they had used all these funds to develop Nigeria, we would be more developed than South Africa by now.

If Maryam Abacha could build national hospital abuja in less than one year imagine what we would have achieved if all these wealth was channelled to the right ise to benefit the poor man.
