omoolokunEsin:
What FCT natives again after they received billions of Naira as Compensation for Government's takeover of their land? In the real sense of the word, Abuja is now a No Man's Land. Contrariwise, in the Colonial days Lagos was made federal Capital without as much as one farthing as Compensation for the landowners. And heaven didn't fall. As a matter of fact, the first Minister of Lagos Affairs was a Northerner. No Southerner has been made Minister of the Capital territory of Abuja since the federal Capital was moved to Abuja in 1991. What a federal republic Nigeria is!
You wrong with No Southerner being made a minister of FCT.

The first FCT minister was a Yoruba man aka Mobolaji Ajose Adeogun. It was possible because Obasanjo moved Capital to Abuja. It is sad that the Southern Nigerians do not know their place in Nigeria, because they are so naive. They don't anything about how to play politics and such is the bane of African society!
At that time, it was wrong to have Yoruba man as head of state and also have Yoruba man as FCT minister in the same capacity. Just like how it is wrong to have Hausa man as president and also have Hausa man as FCT. It is a dangerous kind of politics. Since the southerners don't see anything that is wrong with that, the Hausas can ride on!

Passport, utility bill. You fund your account via p2p platform of Binance.
Thanks for your response. How do I fund that p2p account? I can use funds in my Nigerian's bank cards to make payments. After all I am not a citizen and if I have huge money in my crypto account predictably from Binance, I will not even want to become a citizen anyway. I want to have two different crypto trading phones, one for US and the other will be for Nigeria where I use VPN. You cannot STAKE or SWAP coins without owing a huge tax debt in USA.

Thank you bro for your response! What form of identification does the Binance require from Nigeria? Like Passport or other form of identification. Plus how do you guys buy crypto from Nigeria? Do I have to pay with my Nigerian bank card or other forms of payments? I want to a new crypto trading that I will be operating solely from Nigeria through VPN and Binance global.

Let me quickly respond to you... Cryptocurrency is currently banned as a means of exchange in Nigeria and as such the Government can't take taxes from an activity that's banned.

So you are saying if I sold my crypto coins for let say $100,000 on Binance, I do not need to pay the government 37 percent plus 5.28 percent for the state like in USA. I might need to take my crypto trading to Nigeria. Thank you very much for your response.
Even if you STAKE, the government wants 37 percent on Long term gains and more on Short-Term gains. Is Binance still the best platform to trade and stake crypto? It is not allowed where I am. I am willing to come to Nigeria and use my passport to open a Binance account.

What percent would the platform charge and how much you pay as tax to the government? Where I am, you stake, sell and swap, the government wants taxes on everything which I think it is bad for my crypto business.

The truth is even the federal Police is not structured properly based on Nigeria settings, the reason why there is high impunity from Police, intimidation and so on is because it is under the executive arm, all the security agencies aside from the military are supposed to be under the ministry for justice which the ministry is supposed to be headed by the supreme court separated from the office of the attorney general, as it stands all security agencies in Nigeria receive orders only from the president and reports only to the presidency which makes them witch hunt opponents at will, the FBI in America is under the justice department.

They know the power will be too much for the president to control all the security agencies directly including the military but in Nigeria all are under the executive...

Foreign Affairs / Re: Hundreds Arrested As Russians Protest Invasion Of Ukraine (Pictures) by akigbemaru: 1:14am On Feb 26, 2022
justflow1:

For the US and NATO, there's little appetite to engage  Russia directly. Ukraine is not part of NATO. My economic classes thought me that, in regional blocs and treaty; members of the blocs are highly prohibited from directly involving themselves in economic ties with non-members. And I believe same applies in a military treaty scenario.

US, NATO and the Ukrainian allies are currently dealing with the situation smartly; running their cost-benefit analysis religiously. Sanction packages on the Russian economy and technology are enough to persuade putin (maybe not in the short run), and if it doesn't, then, watch out for their defeat thereafter.
Massive sanctions on Russian businesses, banks, HNIs; blockage of access to the world's capital market, payments systems; and cutting edge techs needed to mordernize their military,  space program, and economy are morally enough. Also, sanctions on their ability to transact in USD, Sterlings, Euro and Yen makes the entire sanctions more complicated and devastating for Russia.

To help Ukraine directly in a war footing scenario is to put people and economy at risk. As per economy, the U.S of A is around 14 times bigger than Russia. Russia would only struggle to trail smaller countries like the UK. Hence, a direct war footing approach should be the last resort for the U.S

I mean, is there a country that wants to underestimate the impact of economic sanctions, especially when the sanctions are coming from regional blocs and the real "owners" of the world's economy.

Germany had their own piece of the cake in the 1920's when they were indicted of promulgating the WWI, they paid reparations that ran into trillions ( in today's German marks). They got hit by an unprecedented hyperinflation; where their currency was so useless that a german needs currencies filled in a truck to purchase a loaf of bread. Germans couldn't afford to paint their house, they started using money as wallpapers. Their children couldn't afford a toy, they used their money to construct kites. There were cases where people offloaded money from a wheelbarrow, and stole the wheelbarrow alone. Intriguingly, In 1914, the exchange rate of the German mark to the American dollar was about 4.2 to one. Nine years later, it was 4.2 trillion to one. Germany didn't foresee this eventuality.

I end in the words of Umberto eco "Not long ago, if you wanted to seize political power in a country you had merely to control the army and the police. Today it is only in the most backward countries that fascist generals, in carrying out a coup d'état, still use tanks" the whole scene changes when it becomes an economic warfare.

AkProsper:
Greetings all.

3 Children in my house are missing today Fri 18.2.2022.

How it happened:
An exiting tenant of about 2 month handedover the room to another person (Two women: they should be in their 30's).
According to them (the women) they said they are student and came to Lagos to write an exam at ikeja so they just need a place to stay for 3weeks to 1 month.
They moved in without any load. (Just new bucket and broom)
They came very friendly and nice especially to the children.
On Friday evening they bought biscuits et el for the children. This was around 5:30-6pm.

Shortly after that they left with the 3 children. According to neighbor, the women said they want to go to bus stop to change a trouser they bought as it's not their size. That was when they left with the 3 children and didn't return till now.
Also on Thursday when they moved in with all the friendliness, promised some of the children that she'll take them to ShopRite tomorrow (Friday)
All effort to reach them have prove abortive as there's little or no information about the women.

Name of the children (3-5 yrs): 1 boy, 2 girls
1. Peter. 3yrs
2. Chiamaka
3. Miracle

A brief description of the women: one is chubby and the other is tall but not slim. They speak pidgin fluently and igbo. One of them claim to be from delta. They are both fair.

If you see or have any info about them please report to the nearest police station. (It has also been reported to the nearest police station (Ajuwon, Ogun State).

My number: 09046518823

I've added a picture of one of the children. I'll add others as soon as i get them.

[quote author=gistmega post=109669054]There is no country without scammers. Indians have the trophy in this but the news will never report it. they are only looking for black man scammer. Never support a scammer. they are very wicked. when they collect they will not give you anything but peanuts. they will spend on women and leave you, their faithful paddy. Only to buy you drinks to drink your brain into misery. Then, spend lavishly in expensive hotels. Their reason for scamming is an enigma. While asserting to be collecting the dividends of their (Unknown) ancestors who were taken into slavery, they themselves have morphed into modern slaves. When they collect the money from maga, they will buy Rolex watch, foreign building materials, designers clothing, luxury cars, iPhone and apple laptops etc. All these items return the ill-gotten cash to the same oyibo manufacturers. In the end, the money returns to the oyibo economy. Leaving you feeling temporarily hyped on diminishing assets.
The pastors and Imams are in this scam loop too. Even more dangerous than the guys before the laptops. How many vaccines expired in Nigeria? Millions. Why? Because the religionists are fusing scary tales to people's hearts to stir up controversies that keep their names on the headlines.
Surprisingly, the same people who criticize Jehovah's witnesses for refusing blood are forcefully instigating that their members refuse vaccines. They demonize the science-based vaccines but they duly take Yellow-fever VACCINES, Polio VACCINES, Hepatitis etc. No one is calling out this hypocrisies because the men promoting this evil agenda are lionized.
People come out in throngs to cuss out these scammers but they are the reasons why these youngsters delve into such crimes. Imagine the cost of building the world's tallest building which provided jobs for hundreds of thousands around the world is sitting in Tinubu's house right now. They load cash and stash in their homes just sitting and not revolving in the economy. How can these young boys get jobs? Any girl buying Malaysian hair and Mary Kay is damaging our economy. Everyone supporting any government aspirant is a bad and evil man. They are the bones of corruption. the support base of any politician is the evil framework of that man.
Any church that opens the door for any politician to campaign in it is a Satanic camp. We all know what these men are up to. There must be a fresh face in Politics. When these men know that they can be easily kicked out, they will sit up. Revolving this seat of power has kept us in this shit-dom called 9ja. Nigerian youths must survive anyhoo. If scam is the way, a man's got to do what a man's got to do. The only thing is, after scam, how far? How do you invest the cash? I am not for scamming individuals but corporations squeezing the oxygen out of people's lungs??

Some bag-holders will feel they are holding Monkeys at times like these. . . .

"Monkey Business"

A lot of monkeys lived near a village.

One day a merchant came to the village to buy the monkeys.

He announced that he would buy the monkeys for £100 each.

The villagers thought he was mad.

They thought how can somebody buy stray monkeys for £100 each?

Still, some people caught a few monkeys and gave them to the merchant and he gave them £100 for each monkey.

This news spread like wildfire and more people caught more monkeys to sell to the merchant.

After a few days, the merchant announced that he would buy monkeys for £200 each.

Even the lazy villagers now ran around to catch the remaining monkeys and sold them for £200 each.

Then the merchant announced that he will buy monkeys for £500 each.

The villagers started to lose sleep! They caught six or seven monkeys, which was all that was left, and got £500 for each one.

The villagers were waiting anxiously for the next announcement.

Then the merchant left with all the monkeys said he was going home for a week and when he returned he would buy monkeys for £1,000 each.

He secretly gave the monkeys to his employee, instructed him to advertise and sell in the nearby village for £700.

The merchant went home and the villagers were very sad as there were no more monkeys left for them to sell at £1,000 each.

The employee did as instructed.
This news spread like wildfire. Since the merchant will buy monkeys for £1,000 each, there is a £300 profit for each monkey.

The next day the villagers made a queue near the monkey cage in the nearby village.
The employee sold all the monkeys for £700 each. The rich bought monkeys in big lots. The poor borrowed money from money lenders and also bought monkeys.

The villagers took care of the monkeys and waited for the merchant to return but nobody came. The employee in the nearby village had also disappeared.

The villagers then realised that they had bought the valueless stray monkeys for £700 each and were unable to sell them.
