Same thing in the 2019 to 2023 era.

Agreed, the Lagos government cannot proscribe the movement of non-indigenes to Lagos, it can put in place laws to favor first it's people as other states do. You can't keep cheating the yorubas because of their liberal disposition. What the hell is "No Man's Land." In Edo, indigenes pay far less than non-indigenes as students of it's University, Ekpoma. In Abia, a man from Imo can't work in their civil service unless he alters his place of origin. Nobody therefore has the moral justification to call out the Lagos Assembly as we all are guilty of same tribalism.

With regard oil within the Niger-Delta and the call for relocation of oil coy's HQ, we made the region uncomfortable for experts, kidnapping them and so on. It is left to the private owners to decide where they want their companies situate. Even in real estate development, we use "Youth Chairman and Deve.." money spoil things. Abegi!

even we southerners know how crafty them igbos are. They think other tribes are supposed to be fools. Here in asaba, they have bought most lands one area they call bonsaac. Now they are fast relocating from east. One useless woman was on call, saying asaba was as good as no man's land as igbos have bought so many lands That's how they start. The surprising thing is that they are relocating south cos of high level of insecurity in d east, especially cos of ipob they clapped for at d beginning. Now some Igbo's are capitalizing that since Igbo-speaking tribes live in delta, then its Igbo's state. Some are trying to promote anioma agenda,,,, of creating out a state comprising the Igbo speaking tribes, with the intention of claiming Igbo state across the Niger, meaning east/Igbo is no longer land locked, creating avenue for their criminal brothers to extend their skullduggery from east to south, forgetting that the Igbo-speaking tribes like Ika people are from benin. Asaba/ OKpanam are from Igala, kogi. me as an uroboh man cant go to east, after buying swaths of land, then say na no man's land. Na that day them go finish me, even take all the lands I buy. In fact, no other tribe can say such In Igbo land (east)

Everybody on this board knows your antics as a frustrated ipob e-tout so this will be my last exchange with your sorry behind.

It's obviously that it's a big source of pain to you and ilk that Yorubas (and indeed your own kinsmen who refuse to invest in their regions) refuse to run in droves as you almajiris are known for. It's also no secret that within Nigeria, Yorubaland is the closest thing to 'London' to an ambitious igboman; it is akin to a land of opportunities and milk & honey (as America and Western Europe are to the rest of the world) coz we have an enabling environment filled with boundless opportunities, and one that fosters and promotes success and freedom.

Yorubas within NIgeria are akin to the Americans, the Western Europeans, the South Koreans, and the Japanese who don't feel the need to travel outside their regions for greener pastures except for tourism purposes (even though we have our people spread out across the country, but certainly not like you vagabonds) coz really what could we honestly want from the SE that we don't have in abundance in the SW?? Is it Land? Is it a big enough market? Resources? Tourism? For goodness sakes your own people are leaving your region in droves. It's the poverty-stricken Eastern Europeans that you see migrating and running to the more affluent Western European countries in droves in search of greener pastures, opportunities and prospects of a better life. Yorubaland can appropriately be likened to Western Europe within Nigeria, while the SE is the .... I'm sure you get the gist. wink cheesy

Your region is the LEAST populated in the entire country coz for the same reason we refuse to move over there in droves, you lots are also leaving that hell of a place in droves! That's the brutal truth and you know it! You had better direct your frustrations at your leaders who are obviously not doing enough to stem the tide of your almajirism coz this your habit of coming online to attack Yorubas will not birth your Biafra for you o. Hian!

Very excellent submission!

Travel / Re: Every Nigeria City Should Learn Something From The Collapse Of Warri. by akigbemaru: 3:12am On May 16, 2023
tomitrace:
War destroys cities:
Every Nigeria City or aspiring city should learn something from the Collapse of Warri as Oil City👇👇👇

Warri was a big industrial hub in the 70's - 90's.

Warri Refinery, NNPC, DSC, Delta Glass, Shell, Chevron, Schlumberger, Dunlop, Agip, Saipem, Halliburton were in full operation back then. Escravos & Forcados were at their peak.

The city thrived. The city was full of zeal and zestful activities. People living outside hardcore Warri called themselves Wafarians because of propinquity to Warri even though they were not Wafarians. To be a Wafarian was to belong to supposedly a unique lifestyle.

Multinational/Local Banks were present Citibank, FBN, ACB, Savannah Bank.

Business activities thrived. Warri port was a beehive of economic activities

Entertainment/Night life was at its peak, Musicians, Live bands at Palmgroove Hotel, Comedians held their sway: Fela, legendary Don Baker, Majek Fashek, Emma Grey, Oritz Wiliki, Rex Lawson were a few of many of the entertainers that made Warri ebullient. Lido, Zina, etc were comparable to their ilks anywhere.

The town was full of life and it thrived.

McDermot road was busy with Maritime activities and contractors. Kingsway Mall offered anything sold in Lagos at that time.

Joma & Mosheshe were big fish distributors across the Niger Delta.

Rubber produced locally, was used to produce plastics and tyres.

The town grew in size and became a conurbation with people coming from all over the country to settle down in Warri for economic activities.

The Airports were super busy, Escravos, Forcados & Warri Airport. The Warri Airport was even relocated to Osubi for expansion.

Warri was revelling in its glory. Warri Port was fully operational and served as an economic booster for the city. It served businesses in Warri, Benin, Asaba & Onitsha. The Port created huge employment opportunities for locals and the state.

Things started to go downhill from the late 90's. The community leaders and youth chairmen began to fight themselves over control/sharing formula for royalties that came from oil & businesses from settlers.

Itsekiri, Urhobo & Ijaw leaders & youths started fighting each other. The bloody fight started around 1999 and lasted for years till 2003/2004.

The community leaders started imposing local taxes called "Deve" on all companies, industries and local businesses, buildings & projects.

Little by little, the companies frustrated, started leaving.

This continued throughout the early 2000's till 2010. The companies kept on leaving, one after the other. The companies layed off their employees. Unemployment rose.

More companies left for PH, Lagos, Akwa Ibom. They layed off more staff. Unemployment increased still.

Today all that is left in Warri, is a shadow of its glorious past.

95% of all the big companies in Warri had either left or closed down.

Most of the young people have left Warri.

The ones left are driving Keke, doing P.O.S, Spa or Boutique, Beer parlour or doing hookup.

There's peace now, but the damage the greedy community leaders did to Warri, still lingers on and is almost irredeemable at this point.

Do not assume that your city can not be destroyed if it toes the same route Warri followed. Warri leaders did not ever believe that Warri will be this economically empty today while they were fighting then. Learn from Warri and protect our economies

Have you asked why big eeconomies like US, China, etc will never allow war in their countries?

We must learn and avoid things that will trigger war in our country no matter how strong we believe we are. Businesses and investors go where there is peace than where there is war.

Wagwanbrethren:

Yes. At the same time fat shaming, body shaming, sexual shaming, sexualizing, etc should be discouraged!

To begin with, fat shaming is ineffective in terms of encouraging people to lose weight. In fact, it often has the opposite effect, causing people to become defensive and even more resistant to making healthy changes.

What’s more, fat shaming is harmful to people’s mental health. It can lead to feelings of self-hatred and low self-esteem, and can even contribute to eating disorders.

Another thing, is that fat shaming is simply mean-spirited and unkind. It is not constructive, and does nothing but make people feel bad about themselves. We should be striving to build each other up, not tear each other down!

Madam BloomingDale, do you see why I always insist no SS wthnic group should carry Igbo matter on their head unless they themselves are troublemakers with an Axe to grind with Yorubas?

Fact is that Yorubas are not perfect but they are very progressive and mean well for all. Every Nigerian desperate for personal and geographical development should embrace what is going to be a progressive era under Tinubu and drop any thoughts of fighting anyone.

When Igbos insult and curse Tinubu to be lying about korokoro history we all witnessed, sensible folks know it is the desperate act of those who scared the discredited 'one Nigeria' gravy train they have been travelling on for so long is about to reach it's last stop.

They are very predictable people who are only ever interested in roping others, like SS folks, into their fight with fellow Nigerians mainly Yorubas and Northerners.

Ask yourself why Igbos shouting Biafra and 'self determination, for over six decades, have gone ominously silent about restructuring and regional autonomy now they know it is here.

As they say "shit just got real" and the fear is now very real.

The SS has a lot going g for it. The region is rich and the people are educated, religiously moderate, ethnically Liberal and reasonable with no expansionist, covetous or usurpation mentality.

They are the perfect folks to do well under the aggressive restructuring Tinubu wishes to use to build a meritocratic Nigeria.

The SS simply need to embrace resource control so that you are in direct charge of your wealth while you then pay a tax to the centre replacing the current derivation system in place.

For the first time, if you are truly ready, you will be free under Tinubu to develop your region as optimally as you want and, because you care about your land, do something about the very negative effect oil exploration and drilling has done to significant areas of the SS. That is what serious SS folks should be looking forward to and not joining some misguided folks in their agenda of vendetta against others.

No sensible SS person, in an age set to be about aggressive development under one of the most progressive Nigeria politician ever, should join people whose main priority is to fight and malign other Nigerians.

Those people have now gone into overdrive against Tinubu and the Yorubas because they know Tinubu's will deliver on his core belief of Nigerians using what they have to develop themselves optimally before casting covetous eyes over the land, asset and opportunities available elsewhere. Igbos never want that as it does not favour how they live and profits from others.

Yet restructuring, resources control and regional autonomy is the only way to develop Nigeria. Charity must begin at home and I think most Nigerians will not object to that idea bar Igbos.

'One Nigeria' is about to die. Even if we do not like each other then those who love progress should at least key into the concept and ready themselves to take avail of it.

So much for someone who bragged that there was a fictitious mandate to reclaim.

The best Peter Obi and his lawyers could come up with was cheap blackmail against Tinubu, Shettima and INEC.

I've read the whole 99 pages of his petition and the only particular facts about the results of the elections being rigged against him are in Rivers State and Benue State which if reversed is less than 200,000 votes in paragraphs 62 and 64 respectively. It will still make him third after Atiku.

You said you won the elections, what has character assassination targeted at getting obidîots excited on social media got to do with reclaiming a delusional stolen mandate?

The case only makes Pandora more hated outside the southeast and his chances of ever getting to Aso Rock slimmer.

Filing petition is like buying a ticket to contest. It doesn't mean you will win. In 2019 when he was Atiku's vice, he filed it against Buhari and was thrashed. 2023 they are filing it separately and are bound to fail.

He has no case and Jagaban has come to stay.

Believe you mean, the memory slot where the votes are store can be manually changed, hacked or destroyed remotely. Moreso, results can be intercepted during transmission. There are tons of loopholes desperate politicians can exploit to manipulate results. The Government might also collude with INEC to pre-programmed to favor a candidate.

Judging from the attacks on irev portal in the recent president election, report has it that there was more than 10000000 attacks on a single day. Now factor that big electronic distributed in about 180000 Polling units, imagine the different alterations, disruptions and manipulations that can be deployed to favor a politician?

Yes this election exposed that the Southwestern people are too liberal, disunited and weak minded.

In South East the Igbos can't accept half of what they dish out to the Yorubas in the west nor can the Igbos do half of what they do in SW to the northerners.

This election exposed that the Igbos noise of marginalization, IPOB, Biafra is nothing but a facade or decoy to cover their agitation/desire for presidency.

This election exposed that when other tribes fight against the bullying, intimidation, and chest beating of the Igbos.. the Igbos can't stand the heat then they start playing the victim and start shouting tribalism.

The Igbos think people hate them but you can't shit on people and still expect them to like you thereafter.

A sensible person will never ever be happy with the way the easterners treat other Nigerians disrespectfully especially the westerners.

The Igbos needs to start living better as humans.. you can't treat people disrespectfully and still expect those same people to treat you respectfully with open arms when they aren't fools.

LET'S CALL A SPADE A SPADE... LET'S CALL GOOD GOOD... LET'S CALL BAD BAD..
WHAT IS GOOD IS GOOD, WHAT IS BAD IS BAD.

We are all not happy about the rot in our country but every single tribe contributed to the rot one way or the other.
So why should the Igbos hate and talk down on other tribes for the same rot of the country that they also have a hand in.

The Igbos needs to do better, be better.. we as Nigerians needs to do better, be better.
We all contributed to this rot.. it's pointless trying to single out any tribe or act like one tribe will do better at fixing it.

This country will never know peace and unity.. if we don't change our mindsets as humans.

The funny thing I noticed is the fact that the northerners never lost sleep during this elections.
It was funny to see Biafrans and Omoluabis, the most westernized groups in Nigeria, allowing their tribalistic and primordial sentiments manifest and descend into bigotry, irrationalism and hypocrisy online and actually.
It was funny to finally come to terms that both Biafrans and Omoluabis are the problem of Nigeria. That both are the 2 sides of a coin.

It was funny to learn that for once in a long while and hopefully, going forward, the Omoluabis can stand together and decide it is time to collectively end the misplaced notions of ownership, arrogance, overbearing and evil agenda of Biafrans in the SouthWest.

It was funny to see Biafrans, rather than rally themselves and stand together to begin the ascent towards 'developing' the east and actualization of Biafra as they claim to have developed everywhere (e.g. South Africa, Ghana, Indonesia, etc) they have set foot on, they are online and on the streets wailing about the refusal to be given what was not theirs to be taken in the first place.

I found it funny that the masses truly fell for the illusion that they had a say or could choose through voting who they wanted. "Go get your PVC! Go get your PVC!!" was just to justify the enormous amount spent on the election. There is no One Nigeria only the Elite vs the Masses.

Equally interesting is how BAT was so vilified by folks both Biafrans and Omoluabis who never knew or met with him personally. How young people would be talking shamelessly about his health or his past, when most of us all have a history we are not proud of. Many who talked about his health in damming terms, we are watching how many of you will grow old or attain his level of health at his age. This is not a curse, Karma is just a dish that never forgets and comes for you when you least expect.

Tbh, so much was learned...however one overriding fact is, nothing on this earth will change for the better, the only hope of man is Jesus Christ, the One who need not to be President/Governor to change the desperation of our souls

It is obvious that those who promoted Mr Chinedu from a failed PDP governorship aspirant behind DaKoVa to join lp late, screened him and selected him to replace the original candidate of lp , Prof Awamaridi, are Igbo, his fellow Igbo who do not speak Yoruba.

If they were Yoruba they would have personally felt disrespected by his inability to understand and speak Yoruba and his hate tweets insulting the Yoruba.

The population of Lagos Colony was analysed into 'Yoruba' and 'Non-Yoruba' tribes:

1. Eko tribe had fallen from 57% in 1872 to 23.6% 20 years later.
2. Popo or Egun tribe was 15.85%,

3. Other Yoruba groups
Oyo - 11.6%
Ijebu - 11.01%
Awori - 9.26%
Egba - 6.05%
Ijesha - 4.32%
Egbado - 3.63%
Ekiti/Efon people - 1.76%

4. Non-Yoruba groups
Nupe/Tapa - 1.86%
Hausa - 1.86%
The Kru - 1.37%.

Please look well the census data above if you are ipob and lp mob. Do you see any Igbo there? This is a part of Lagos those attempting to foist a Yoruba-hater Mr Chinedu on the Yoruba in Yorubaland do not know.

The truth is that even if he changes his name to Aromire, with those bile tweets against the Yoruba, he is and remains a Chinedu to the Yoruba. Hence the rallying of the Yoruba for Sanwo Olu across all the parties despite that Sanwo Olu is the best man for the job.

Yes. When he's in school, he'll speak English.

Couples from different tribes should endeavour to speak their dialect to their children.

Daddy should speak Yoruba.
Mum should speak Igbo.

The children will pick up English speaking in school and other social gatherings.

Children at tender ages have the GOD given ability to pick up many languages, which many parents aren't aware of.

I read the post of a lady whose fiancé was biracial. I think daddy was English, mum Arab and they had a Spanish nanny. The guy can speak three languages because these languages were spoken to him.

His dad spoke English to him.
His mum spoke Arabic to him.
His nanny spoke Spanish to him.

Now, he's a polyglot and this made him land an international job.

So, I see no reason why parents of different tribe or race can't speak their language to their children.

Gbadebo is a true Lagosian and not an immigrants like Sanwolu. He is the most qualified to be governor of Lagos state. For long Lagosians have been sidelined to one corner and scavengers from Ogun and Other part of SW have been syphoning the resources and wealth of Lagos. The money Tinubu has stollen from Lagos no true Lagosians have made such in his or her 100yrs on earth.

The good news is that true Lagosians have the opportunity to reclaim their state back from all this immigrants rascals from SW by supporting one of their own Gbadebo of LP or continued slaving away to this rascals from neighbouring SW state. Reclaiming back your state does not make you guys less Yoruba neither those it make you guys Igbo apologies as this rascals immigrants from SW had made you believe over the years. For it is the right thing to do by reclaiming back your state and governing your state. Lagosains, it is time to begin to put on your thinking cap. For example, there are also large percentage of Igbos in Ogun state. They live happily with their Yoruba brothers. Now a quick thought, why are they not fighting them in Ogun? If truly Igbos want to take SW, why are they not bothered about them in Ogun and other SW states as they do in Lagos. Yea, your guess is correct. It's simply because they want to continue to govern your state and continue to steal from the rich resources of Lagos. They knew very well that the Igbo man always vote competent leader who understood ecomony very well and who will create an enabling environment for businesses to strive. That's the only reason they fight against the Igbos in Lagos. They see the Igbos as a threat to achieve their demonic aim which is to syphon Lagos wealth to themselves.

To the true Lagosians, you now have the power and opportunity to correct this years of stealing, intimidations and ethnic blindfolding in your land by voting your own son Gbadebo of LP as governor or continue to be govern by criminals from Ogun, Osun, and Oyo while turning your own royal father's, the Oba of Lagos to mere puppet and political and ethnic bullying, your eligible sons to govern to outcasts and your children children to touts. Don't be deceived be wise, Igbos are not your problem, Igbos have been respectful and helping to develop your state and also helping you true Lagosians reclaim back your state. The ball to reclaim back your state is now on your court.
