odiks: Ize-Iyamu Takes Campaign to Three Etsako LGAs
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the Edo 2020 Governorship election has taken his campaign to all the councils in Etsako.
The APC candidate rolled out the developmental plans contained in his SIMPLE Agenda to the people in Etsako West and Etsako Central Local Government councils of the state.
Speaking at Ugbekpe-Ekperi and Auchi in Etsako West and Etsako central councils, respectively, Ize-Iyamu applauded the people for their warm reception.
The campaign also reached Agenebode, in Etsako East.
Ize-Iyamu promised that his government would be different from the present administration of the state in terms of performance.
The governorship candidate pledged to pursue his SIMPLE Agenda to build on the legacies of the former governor of Edo, Adams Oshiomhole.
Ize-Iyamu also promised to provide jobs for Edo youths and empower women with micro credit to boost their businesses.
He added that he would provide lasting solution to the flood and security problems in the councils.
At Ekperi, Adams Oshiomhole who was on the campaign train, recalled some of his achievements in the Local Government Area such as the road linking Ekperi to Anegbette.
He said he had promised four years ago that Gov. Godwin Obaseki, now of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would construct more roads in the spirit of continuity.
He said Obaseki failed to do so.
At Auchi, Oshiomhole told the people that the APC choice of Ize-Iyamu and Mallam Gani Audu as running mate was a better choice for Edo people.
“We can restore good governance and not use propaganda to deceive the people,” Oshiomole said.

BENIN —The Edo APC governorship campaign train touched down in Etsako East LGA on Wednesday with the party’s candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and party leaders spreading the message of the SIMPLE Agenda to the Palace of the Traditional ruler and inhabitants of Agenebode, its headquarters. At the palace of the Okumagbe of Weppa Wano, HRH George Egabor Omoze I could not hide his happiness as Pastor Ize-Iyamu paid him homage and gave him copies of his Manifesto, the Simple Agenda as he called him, ‘’My Son in whom I am pleased.”
He blessed the APC candidate and declared: “I pray for you that God protects you and God gives you what you want…we pray that God will make what you are aspiring for to come true – that is our prayer.”
The Okumagbe went down memory lane to recall how much his community and the Etsako East local government benefited from the Edo State Government when Pastor Ize-Iyamu served first as Chief of Staff and later as Secretary to the State Government.
“All the things we have here today I got them while he (Ize-Iyamu) was in government: the High Court, College of Agriculture, a transformer in front of my house (palace), my appointment as Chairman/Governing Council of Usman Dan Fodio University (Sokoto), College of Education-Ekiadolor and Usen; that was when he was in government.”
Pastor Ize-Iyamu while presenting his Simple Agenda to the monarch whom he described as one who is passionate about development like himself added that Agenebode occupied a strategic position and its potentials have not been fully exploited to move Edo forward.

Mbeki: The unexpected is beginning to happen between the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September 19 governorship election in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, and his ‘principal sponsor’, Adams Oshiomhole, the ousted APC national chairman. Many party members were surprised to notice the two principal APC actors getting involved in early loggerhead following the shameful rejection of the APC candidate in Edo Central Senatorial District on Monday because of the ill actions and maltreatment of the zone by Oshiomhole when he was Governor of Edo State.
National Daily gathered that the APC governorship candidate, Ize-Iyamu, was sent out of the palace of the Enojie of Igueben, His Royal Highness, Ehizojie Eluojierior II, when APC leaders visited the traditional ruler who had earlier invited other royal fathers in the district.
A participant at the disgraceful meeting disclosed that the APC candidate accompanied by the former Edo governor, Oshiomhole, were ordered to leave Esan land by the traditional rulers. They scolded Oshiomhole who in his political fury, abandoned the Edo Central in the eight years of being governor of the state.
The traditional rulers further recalled the dethronement of the Enojie of Uromi, His Royal Highness, Anselm Aidenojie 11, by Oshiomhole, who was later reinstated by Governor Godwin Obaseki.
More so, Oshiomhole was accused of taking the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly away from Edo Central. Barrister Andrew Emwata had on Kakaki programme on the AIT on Tuesday monitored by National Daily from Lagos, highlighted that when Edo South takes the governor, Edo North takes the deputy governor, then, the Speaker of the State Assembly is zoned to Edo Central. He said that Oshiomhole subverted the power sharing scheme, punishing Edo Central. This, Emwata said, was reversed by Governor Obaseki who zoned the Speaker of the House to Edo Central.
Emwata further said that because Oshiomhole suddenly realized that APC is going for the governorship election campaign in Edo Central, he quickly manipulated the illegal appointment of Speaker of the House from Edo Central, and attempting to dethrone the legal Speaker of the House from Edo Central installed under the leadership of Obaseki. According to Emwata, Ize-Iyamu has denied that the illegal inauguration of the renegade 14 APC lawmakers was not done at his residence.
Emwata had earlier said that Oshiomhole, Ize-Iyamu and other APC members were walked out of the palace of the Enogie of Igueben.
The earlier palace source who observed the humiliation of the APC candidate at the meeting revealed that Ize-Iyanu turned to blame Oshiomhole for his misdeeds that are causing them election misfortunes across the state. He added that the ousted APC national chairman responded, telling him to be courageous to take responsibility for his actions.
The palace source was cited to have highlighted: “The two unwanted visitors engaged in hot exchange of unpleasant words in Igueben after they were told to leave Esan land by the monarchs who had converged on Igueben for the cold reception.
“In the ensuing hot exchange of words, Ize-Iyamu blamed Oshiomhole for his woes in Esan land and other parts of Edo State where they have faced similar rejection since the party commenced campaigns.
“We overheard Oshiomhole saying he couldn’t be blamed for all Ize-Iyamu’s problems. The former APC national chairman said there can be no smoke without fire and told the governorship candidate to be courageous enough to take responsibility for some of his past actions.”

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike says former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole does not have the moral standing to tell Edo people not to vote for Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Governor Wike who is also the Chairman of PDP National Campaign Council for the Edo 2020 Governorship Election said the purported issue of secondary school certificate does not hold water.
He was reacting to comments by Oshiomhole during the flag off of the APC Governorship Campaign in Edo State.
The Governor berated the former APC National Chairman for his continued claims that Governor Obaseki is not a graduate even when the University of Ibadan has affirmed that he graduated from the institution.
Governor Wike challenged Oshiomhole to present his academic certificate to Edo people rather than advising them to shun a candidate he claimed to be the brainbox of his administration’s achievements.
"The certificate claims about Governor Obaseki by the former APC National Chairman is a non-issue because he is the best candidate for Edo State.
“It is unfortunate that we are in a country that somebody that does not have a certificate will question the one that has.
"Oshiomhole has trade test which is not an academic qualification. I challenge him to show the world his academic qualification.
“This same man he said has three credits was his brainbox when he was in government. So is it not better for Edo people to support a man that has three credits than to follow someone whom he said was a cultist and fake pastor who destroyed the manhood of his fellow man.
"Oshiomhole is trying to tell Edo people whatever he decides is what will be and this is an opportunity for Edo people to say no.
"His claim that if APC losses the election they will secure the mandate through the courts is a total confirmation that the Party cannot win the Edo election through the ballot box.
"Securing victory through the courts will be null and void as there are still Judges in Nigeria with conscience who cannot dance to the tune of the APC," he stated.
On the claims that President Muhammadu Buhari endorsed the APC Governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Governor Wike challenged APC supporters to show evidence where the President announced that he has endorsed a man who is facing corruption charges of the EFCC.
He said the absence of the President and Vice President at the flag off of the APC Governorship campaign is a confirmation that he does not have their support.
On the comments by the former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the action of Governor Obaseki on the Edo State House of Assembly crisis was wrong, Governor Wike stated that he was surprised at his comments.
“Tinubu is one man that I have great respect for so when I read the papers, I was taken aback. It is unfortunate that members that were not inaugurated can turn around to illegally impeach people.
"What Governor Obaseki did is what any Chief Security officer should do. It is justifiable in order to avoid chaos,” he added.
What sort of leader takes back such words of vote of confidence passed on a loyalist. APC EDO state will begin to fall apart by their own words. they have already started. the same way Oshio is campaigning for Ize Iyamu now is the same way he will crush him once again when they eventually fail after this election in Sept mark my words.
