Even when the weather is good, no sun and no rain, people just don't make the decision to walk.

Like Ibime, I can no longer count the number of times I've had to make people walk. They just want to flag the next Keke down rather than walk 10-20 minutes.

I also aim for 15k steps but once I hit 10k I'm happy, except on days I go gym. I can drop below or when I'm not wearing my smartwatch. I trekked about 35 kilometres last week according to this, so average of 5 kilometres per day. I try to get 5k steps every lunchbreak when I'm in the office which is 3 times a week, then I make up the rest later.

Nigerians attribute walking with poverty. If you are walking, it is because you don't have 100 naira for keke.

Except when people set out to exercise, it is rare to see a Nigerian who can afford transport or has his own car make a conscious decision to trek.

What caught my attention was saying you almost passed out. If you walk regularly which I encourage everyone to do, 5.7km of walk shouldn't make you feel that way.

How Nigerians consider 2km trekking always makes me laugh. 4km trekking (10,000 steps) is the recommended daily steps and most people I know here cover that everyday and even up to 6km

The other day when Iamoyindamola said he trekked during cash scarcity and almost passed out, I checked the distance he trekked and was laughing.

I try to hit an average of 15k steps daily which usually comes to a distance of 10km. This is how far I've gone this month.

There's something that bothers me about gamblers. How does a sensible person think that a bet company will pay the Nigerian government 52m naira for application and license, set up a website, buy very expensive softwares, pay the likes of betradar for odds, hire staff, pay criminal twitter influencers and pay for adverts just so they can dash you money.

In what world does this makes sense to a right thinking person?

People refusing to turn off phones is very common during flights. No one has ever been arrested or preventing from coming down for refusing to turn off their phones. The explanation by Ibom air is more in tune with common sense.

Her behaviour which was also caught on camera gives us an idea of what she would have done off camera.

Seems to me like her friends her flooding social media with "eye witness" account to create soft landing for her.

For a company that uses contract staff for operational roles , it is not out of place to absorb their contract staff .

What we are talking about here is a real job opening being announced and then assume the company would pick a specific candidate they anointed instead of the best candidate based on merit . Maybe some companies do it , but most top companies with standardized processes would not .

They are real job openings posted on job sites like every other vacancy.

In-house contract staff are the anointed candidates. Your chances of getting in as a random Joe who sees the advert on jobberman is less than 2%. It doesn't matter how good you are.

Most companies that are well run have checks and balances in place to ensure the best candidates are employed and not the nonsense man-know-man.

By the time u have 2 to 3 stages of interview with different people in the reporting line and maybe a top management person/MD, water would find its level .

Where I work and in other companies within the industry, vacancies for experienced hire are usually filled by in-house contract staff.

Many times I wonder why they advertise and continue to waste people's time. Perhaps, there's a law that says they must.

Also as for job vacancies being posted online. In most cases, those companies only publish those vacancies online to fulfil all righteousness oh. They already have people they intend to employ. Of course, I'm not talking about Lagos here. Lagos is an outlier.

This is mostly true for experienced hire. For graduate trainee it's not.
