The use of plastic buckets 🪣 is more sustainable than feed and cement sacks but they also face the same fate like sacks but it would just take a little longer. After making research, I discovered that tyres could be a better option,
1. Controlling land pollution as the tyres would be of good use
2. Tyres are wider and can take in a lot of soil,consequently allowing plants roots to spread
3. Doesn’t experience breakdown like in sacks
4. You could add more depth for deep rooted
plants by simply stacking tyres on top of each other.

What do you think? Would you embrace tyres for planting. Let me hear your comments below

I got interested in urban gardening after reading several threads here in the agric section about growing crops in polythene sacks such as the common Dangote cement sack. The process was straight forward as you will just have to fill the sack with fertile soil and cultivate any type of plant you wish except trees. After cultivating for 6 months, I found out that cement sack is not a good option when it comes to gardening. One major problem I faced was microplastics. When you start cultivating with sacks, you will enjoy it as they are firm and strong, can withstand any strain and force. But as time went one, this sacks become a challenge to withstand. High temperature from direct sunlight and high humidity will breakdown the sacks into tiny particles called microplastics which are debilitating for the environment. The sack weakens and will just collapse, this can happen within 4-6 months. Cleaning soil polluted with micro plastics is no joke. Likewise, sacks will make your soil compact irrespective of how fertile your soil is. Water penetration deep into the soil won’t be possible and your plant will become dehydrated quickly.

Pepper doesn't have spicy 🔥🥵🥵 effects on birds. The pepper will dislodge the Endoparasites and free them from those respiratory worms. You can use garlic and ginger extract too

We don't experience heat here. It is very cool here. I have been here for three days and I don't experience heat except when I go outside in the sun. It is very cool inside so I will rule out the heat.

There is no overcrowding. This room is big enough to accommodate 70 to 100 births. The birds are just 20. So I will rule out overcrowding.

I observed that he is feeding them pellets which wasn't the case with the successful batch he reared last year. The pellets are too big for birds their size so I asked him to get new feeds or grind the pellets as it might get stuck in their throats.

Someone suggested looking out for gaspworms. I will recommend he breed the white ones which he was successful with last year.


I know one or two things about poultry like management, organizing, spacing, etc. My only issue is identifying illness and it's recommended treatment.

I guess you have been able to address the issues happening with your birds. For gapeworms, try making use of ground harbanero pepper into their throats or into their drinking water

Your birds are suffering from heat stress. The hot weather has serious adverse effects on them that's why you noticed intense gasping, fainting and sudden death. What you need to do:

1. Provide them with ample fresh water, great one if it's chilled
2. Don't over crowd them, consider your stocking density. E.g., don't put five birds in a place that can accommodate two
3.Place your poultry coop or their house/pen in a shade. For instance, if you have banana plants clustered around, take them there. This is because banana/plantain plants naturally produce lots of humidity, so it's always cool.
4.Don't stress them, handle them gently.
5. Incase of next time, buy breeds from reputable hatcheries that are resilient to unfavourable weather.

But what else could these so called isa brown hens be if they are not the real isa brown chickens. If your assertion is true then thousands to probably millions of Nigerian poultry farmers have been scammed or deceived for believing the notion that the popular ISA brown chickens they are rearing are the genuine ISA brown chickens.

Noticed most say they've got ISA-brown when in reality, they hatched whatever they intends selling to you themselves. My research on ISA-Brown shows it's a hybrid whose genetic makeUp is only known to those who invented it, hence, mating 2 isa-Brown chickens, would never produce ISA-Brown chicks.

Have spoken to a couple of dealers who claims they sell ISA-Brown, but on applying Social engineering, found out they either own their own hatcheries, or patronise another hatchery, most of which are all local and imports nothing.

So chances are, what you bought, ain't the ISA-Brown you read about.

of course, there could be other reasons for poor performance including quality of feed, how often they're fed, housing, medication, qualityy & quantity of lighting, etc.

With ISA brown chickens being the best breed having the capacity of producing 300 or more eggs annually if they are well catered and cared for. Nutrition is paramount for layers as a diet rich in vital nutrients can mean layers lay more fresh eggs for the hungry consumers. 7. Lemongrass: This sweet scented grass can be added to the feed of layers which improves the feed conversion efficiency, which means more eggs are ready to be laid.

8 African basil: Also called scent leaf or efinrin in Yoruba, is an
egg laying stimulant. It not only increases egg production but it gives a deep orange colour to yolks, which entails an increase in more carotene.

9. Aloe vera: The gel of aloe vera leaves can be added to drinking water and the outer covering added to feed. Aloe vera leaves and gel boost egg production and egg weight.

10. Fennel: Fennel seeds improve egg quality and layer egg production.

11. Apple mint: Apple mint leaves also argument egg production and have the ability of cooling their body temperature during hot weather.

How To Use These Herbs
The right usage is important. Since most of these herbs have leaves that are high in nutrients; the best way of making use of them is by drying, blending or pounding and adding it in powdered form into their feed, most of the time, though some extracts can be added into their drinking water too. Papaya plants are dioecious, that means they have separate sexes. Plant another seed and tend to it until it produces single large flowers not several ones like this one on stalks. Though you can leave this one to fertilize the upcoming female

If Jesus truly was beside God before and during creation of the universe, why wasn't his name mentioned in the story about the first man and woman: Adam and Eve.
Also, a quick observation: If truly Jesus was with God before creation, why couldn't he thwart Satan's plan by informing Adam and Eve about the consequences of eating the forbidden fruit or totally cast Satan out since he would be more powerful than him

(" exerchomai" Strongs # 1831) which means to " issued forth " or to have " issued from". Jesus issued forth from the Father. In the next verse, "proceeded forth" also comes from the same Greek word.

The next Scripture is very interesting. In verse 41, the leaders decided to
push their point by saying that they were not illegitimate like Jesus was.
Thus they were saying Jesus was Illegitimate!
In response, Jesus expanded His message by telling them where He actually came from. So, Jesus told them that He was not illegitimate at

Jesus said He came forth from God when He was accused of being illegitimate. So it is clear that Jesus was speaking of His original birth from the Creator. Jesus is not illegitimate!
In this and the next Scripture we find that Jesus spoke of two different events. 1) He proceeded forth or He came forth from God and, 2) He came into the world (God sent Him).
The text is not just a fancy way to describe His coming to the earth twice. But rather, Jesus was saying that He proceeded forth from God and He also came from God who sent Him to the earth.
1. "Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You.
2. "For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You ; and they have believed that You sent Me . John 17:7-8

So if God "birthed" Jesus, what is the status of Mary! Mary wasn't even mentioned in your sentences. So when did God become a woman, he "birthed" Jesus , is that not asexual reproduction? Look at the verse you quoted. Do you see any word related to reproduction? Did you see something like "I was born by the father" or Something akin to reproduction or the act of giving birth . Is it also sensible to say because God created you, he actually birthed you into this world? Can you see the contradiction everywhere. And notice the world "The father". He didn't mention "My father"; which you would think he's a biological son of God. "The father" in the verse denotes God as a supreme being, the cherisher, the Sustainer, the provider, the creator of all creations, the One,e.t.c.
