Business / Re: What Business Can I Start With 10-15m by akinsmail51: 7:02am On Feb 11
Do business that will involve you building a structure such as setting up a bakery or pure water factory.

Buy a plot or half a plot (target to spend #3m - #5m on this. Reserve certain amount of cash as working capital, then spend the rest on machinery.

Either of the business above will get you daily income, you just need the help of someone trustworthy to run the business for you while you do the supervisory roles.

In the case of eventualities, you have your land, building and machinery that you can sell to recoup your initial investment.

Islam for Muslims / Three Ways To Forgiveness – Imam Ibn Rajab by akinsmail51: 9:02am On Feb 09
The First Way: Hopeful Supplication

The Second Way: Asking Allah for Forgiveness

The Third Way: Tawḥīd

Anas Ibn Mālik (radhi Allaahu anhu) said: I heard Allah’s messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) saying:

“Allah ( تعاىل ) said,

‘Oh son of Adam, as long as you call on me and hope in me, I will forgive you for whatever (sins) you have and I will not mind.

Oh son of Adam, if your sins were to reach the clouds in the sky and then were you to ask for my forgiveness, I would forgive you and I would not mind.

Oh son of Adam, if you were to come to me with sins as much as the earth and then you meet me not worshipping anything else along with me, I would come to you with as much forgiveness.’”

Recorded by at-Tirmidhī (no. 3540). Shaykh al-Albānī said it is authentic in “Ṣaḥīḥ Sunan at-Tirmidhī” (no. 2805)

In times of calamity, people divide into four levels – Shaykh ibn Uthaymeen

Q: What is the ruling on one who becomes discontented when he is afflicted by calamity?

A: In times of calamity, people divide into four different levels:

The First Level:
Discontent and there are different types of discontent:

1. In the heart, as if he is angry with his Lord, and so he rails against what Allāh has ordained for him, and this is forbidden and could even lead to disbelief.

Allāh, the Most High, says:

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ عَلَى حَرْفٍ فَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ خَيْرٌ اطْمَأَنَّ بِهِ وَإِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ فِتْنَةٌ انقَلَبَ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ خَسِرَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةَ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْخُسْرَانُ الْمُبِينُ

“And among mankind is he who worships Allah as it were upon the edge (i.e. in doubt): if good befalls him, he is content therewith; but if a trial befalls him he turns back on his face (i.e. reverts to disbelief after embracing Islam). He loses both this world and the Hereafter.” (Al-Hajj 22:11)

2. That it is spoken, such as invoking woe, destruction and the like and this is forbidden.

3. That it is physical, such as striking the cheeks, tearing the clothes and pulling out the hair and the like, and all of this is forbidden, because it negates the patience which is required.

The Second Level: Patience and this is as the poet says:

Patience is like its name, its taste is bitter,

But the end results of it are sweeter than honey.

So, he considers this burden heavy, yet he bears it, even though he hates that it should occur, and his faith protects him from discontent.

So, its occurring or not occurring are not the same to him. This is an obligation, because Allāh, the Most High has commanded him to be patient, saying:

وَاصْبِرُواْ إِنَّ اللّهَ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ
“and be patient. Surely, Allah is with those who are As-Sabirun (the patient).” (Al-Anfal 8:46)

The Third Level: Acceptance: That a person accepts misfortune, so that its presence or absence are the same to him.

Its presence is not hard on him, and he does not bear a heavy burden due to it, and this is highly preferred, although not obligatory, according to the most authoritative opinion.

The difference between it and the last level is clear, because the presence of misfortune and its absence are the same in the acceptance of this person, whereas in the level before it, misfortune is difficult for him, yet he bears it.

The Fourth Level: Gratitude, and this is the highest level: It is by him thanking Allah for the misfortune which has befallen him, because he knows that this misfortune is a cause of his sins being remitted and it might also be a cause of his reward being increased.

The Prophet salAllahu alayhi wasallam said:

“There is no misfortune that afflicts a Muslim except that Allah remits a sin from him because of it, even the prick he receives from a thorn.” (Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Islam for Muslims / "Your Wives Are Like Farmland To You." [2:223]. by akinsmail51: 10:08pm On Feb 06
Advanced Farming! I am happy to be a farmer!

The Qur'an states:
نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَكُمْ
"Your wives are like farmland to you." [2:223].

Imam al-Qurtubi explained in his Tafsir:

ففرج المرأة كالأرض ، والنطفة كالبذر ، والولد كالنبات ،
"The private part of females is likened to the field, the sperm is likened to the seed, and the child is likened to the plant."
["Al-Jami li Ahkam al-Qur'an", 3/93].

A farmer approaches his field not just for the sake of pleasure, but to acquire produce.

A farmer takes good care of his farm and does not abandon or neglect it.

A farmer protects and guards his farmland.

A farmer does not plough into his farm when its dry, but only digs after its wet.

A farmer does not waste his seeds by planting them into barren places of his farm, but only plants them in the place that is fertile and capable of reproduction.

Islam for Muslims / Helping Muslims With Practical Business Ideas by akinsmail51: 4:05pm On Feb 02
Today's Friday Sermon was frightening and mind-blowing.

The Imam (may Allaah preserve him upon goodness) talked about Piety, Sadaqah (charity) and how tough things are with people at the moment.

The sermon trembled the mind and frightened the hearts.

To the extent that I wish I could empty my pocket to do sadaqah but unfortunately the pocket is emptied already.

Two poor people can hardly help each other

Then, a thought cropped up in my mind. If you can't give out money to help others, you get something you can offer that could help them (in the form of profitable practical business ideas)

Going forward, I will do my best to create time to make 5 posts on 5 practical businesses anyone can implement to augment his income or solve his money problems during these tough economic moments.

I will try to make the post as practical as I can. The posts will be centered on 5 practical businesses I have done/doing myself and that I believe any person can give a try.

Let me briefly mention those businesses here for now;

1. Dry Cleaning Business (during my tough moments, I make #27k - #29k per week doing this business on the side)

2. Ice Block Business (I made a minimum of #5k - #10k per day while I was running this business) I made this daily #10k between 4am - 9am daily, from 9am I returned to the dry cleaning office to run other online pursuits.

3. Blogging (recently I was introduced to the secrets of how to make money from blogging).

If you can religiously implement these secrets, you stand the chance of making $100 per month from 6 months, God Willing.

It's a paid class though, I will still implore whoever can take up this opportunity to do so.

4. Domain Investing: I have been evangelizing domain flipping business for a while. I will share the link to learn how to do this business.

I can also influence my mentor to train ready minds on this business, it's just that he can't do it for free based on our past discussions.

I believe paid or free, the business is a good side hustle and I believe available resources online are enough for those who can take time to study them.

Of course, it's a knowledge-based business, good for whoever can do extensive research and get $200 - $300 to start buying and selling domain names.

5. I will share practical steps on how to make money with SEO & Copywriting as well.

So help me God.

I believe this would be a means to help others if they can implement those ideas diligently, at least, your money pressure will be a bit reduced, God Willing.

I share this post now to make myself accountable, sincerely I run crazy hectic schedule.

You may not need to come to my inbox asking me to teach you any of these businesses but this is what you can do.

Once I drop those posts, ask whatever questions you have, I will do my best to answer, by God Grace.

Of course, I will make the post as comprehensive and all encompassing as I can.

So help me God.

Islam for Muslims / Sustenance And Livelihood Are Preordained In Certain Measures by akinsmail51: 7:24am On Feb 02
Sustenance and livelihood are preordained in certain measures; illness is preordained, and one’s welfare is preordained; everything in this life is preordained.

The person should accept what Allaah has preordained for him and should not hate, dislike, or show discomfort towards these preordainment.

Since this is the nature of the matter, one should submit his entire affair to Allaah and know that whatever befalls him will not miss him and whatever misses him will not befall him.

It is as if the one who prefers this life to be monotonic wants the predecree of Allaah to be in accordance with his desires, and this is wishful thinking.

Irrespective of the preordinance or test, it is a matter that is good for the believer; however, this is with the condition that one gives thanks for Allaah’s favor and is patient, as in the authentic hadith of the Prophet ( ﺻﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ )

“Amazing is the matter of the believers, his affair to him is all good, and this is for none except for the believer, if he is touched by something good and then he thanks, then this is good for him. And if he is touched by a calamity or hardship, then he is patient and this is good for him.”

[Reported by Muslim, hadith no. 2999]

Allaah, the Most High, stated (in the translation of the meaning):

“It may be that you dislike a thing and Allaah brings through it a great deal of good.” – Surah an-Nisa (4:19)

Moreover, Allaah ( ﺳﺒﺤﺎﻧﻪ ﻭ ﺗﻌﺎﻟﻰ ) said (in the translation of the meaning):

And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allaah knows but you do not know. – Surah al-Baqarah (2:216)

Everyone should know that the One who tests us is also the One who bestows favors upon us.

Furthermore, we should know that not everything we dislike is to be disliked in reality and that not everything that we desire is really beneficial for us; Allaah knows and you do not know.

Some of the Salaf (rahimahumullaah) said that:

If you were afflicted by a calamity, and you were patient, then your calamity is one; however, if you were impatient, then your calamity is double because of the loss of the reward as well as the beloved one, the Hereafter (i.e. Paradise).

This saying was in relation to what Allaah (ﺳﺒﺤﺎﻧﻪ ﻭ ﺗﻌﺎﻟﻰ ) mentioned in Surah al-Hajj (in the translation of the meaning):

“And among mankind is he who worships Allaah as it were, upon the very edge (i.e. in doubt); if good befalls him, he is content therewith; but if a trial befalls him, he turns back on his face. He loses both this world and the Hereafter. That is the evident loss.” – Surah al-Hajj (22:11)

Islam for Muslims / Keeping A Low Profile Saves! by akinsmail51: 7:53am On Jan 29
Muslim (2965) narrated that ‘Aamir ibn Sa‘d said:

Sa‘d ibn Abi Waqqaas was with his camels when his son ‘Umar came to him and when Sa‘d saw him he said: I seek refuge with Allah from the evil of this rider.

Then he dismounted and said to him: You are busy with your camels and sheep and you have left the people contending with one another for kingship?

Sa‘d struck him on the chest and said: Be quiet! I heard the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say:

“Allah loves the slave who is pious, independent of means and hidden from the people.”

An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

“hidden from the people” refers to one who is anonymous and is focused on worship and taking care of his own affairs. End quote.

Ibn al-Jawzi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

What he meant by hidden from the people is one who is not known, because the one who is not known is usually safe.

End quote from Kashf al-Mushkil (p. 167)

Al-Fudayl ibn ‘Iyaad (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

If you are able not to be known, then do so. What harm will it do you if you are not known? What harm will it do you if no one praises you? What harm will it do you to be blameworthy before people if you are praiseworthy before Allah, may He be glorified and exalted?

End quote from at-Tawaadu‘ wa’l-Khumool by Abu Bakr al-Qurashi (p. 43).

"𝐈 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐬" ~ Abu Naasir, Shaykh Ibrahim AbdurRauf (may Allaah preserve him upon goodness)

There are two factors that fetch goodness and prevent evils, these dual-purpose factors are 𝐓𝐚𝐪𝐰𝐚 (𝐏𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲) & 𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐫 (𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞)

He said do you remember the story of prophet Yusuf (alayhi solaatu wa salaam)?

"They said: Are you indeed Yûsuf (Joseph)? He said: I am Yûsuf (Joseph), and this is my brother (Benjamin). Allâh has indeed been gracious to us. 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐲, 𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐚̂𝐡 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐢𝐦 (𝐛𝐲 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬), 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭, then surely, Allâh makes not the reward of the Muhsinûn (good-doers }) to be lost." ~Suratul Yusuf verse 90

Prophet Yusuf attained what he attained out of Piety and Patience.

My dear brethren, have Piety and Patience, you'll attain goodness in this world and the hereafter.

As regards these factors protecting you from evils, Allaah says:

"If a good befalls you, it grieves them, but if some evil overtakes you, they rejoice at it. But if you remain patient and become Al-Muttaqûn [the pious], not the least harm will their cunning do to you." Surely, Allâh surrounds all that they do". ~Suratul al Imran verse 120

Thereafter, the Shaykh quoted some verses that preach patience from Quran chapter 2 and also advised us to think about how Prophet Yusuf was patient with his trials and his brothers.

The Shaykh also said "Ikhwah, make sure you work to attain the two attributes - Piety and Patience.

They have to go pari passu, they've to go simultaneously, one isn't enough to get the desired results.

The Shaykh (may Allaah preserve him upon goodness) shared this with us yesterday when we met during our visit to Abu Ahmad, Shaykh Sulayman Hamzat (may Allaah him upon goodness and be merciful to our shaykh's departed mum and elder brother)

Alhamdulillaah, I didn't miss the opportunity to tell Abu Naasir that we and our households are getting a lot of benefits from his weekly talks and I prayed to Allaah to reward him abundantly and accept his deeds.

Yesterday was full of lessons and benefits for me and my brethren, we visited 3 teachers of Sunnah in my city Ibadan just yesterday alone.

May Allaah reward every teacher of Sunnah abundantly and preserve them upon goodness.

Don't forget to work on the two factors mentioned above, I pray Allaah increases us in Piety and Patience.

The Ruling on a Woman Sleeping Alone, Apart From Her Husband, in a Separate Room

Question:
Is it permissible for a woman to sleep alone, in a separate room, so long as she does not refuse to give her husband his lawful rights?

Answer:
There is no sin in that, if the husband agrees to it, and the room is safe. But if the husband does not agree to it, then she has no right to be alone, because that is against accepted custom, unless it is stated as a condition in the marriage contract, due to her not wishing anyone to sleep with her in the room, for some reason or another. For Muslims must abide by their conditions.

Business / How I Made My First Dollars From Freelancing by akinsmail51: 10:56am On Jan 21
This post is to motivate those of you who might have acquired digital skills but yet to make money from it.

I want to show you how I made the first dollar ($450) exchanging my skills for money as a freelancer.

Perhaps, you can pick up ideas on how to make yours.

I will try my best to make this post as succinct and instructive as I can but I hope to make it comprehensive enough for others to pick up ideas they can implement to make money from their existing skills.

Specifically, in 2019 I decided to add earnings in dollars to my business pursuits.

Before then, I have been trying my hands on learning a lot of digital skills I think could assist my business pursuits and make me an all-round entrepreneur.

I had learned Blogging, Copywriting, Social Media Marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Content Marketing.

This hastened my mission to exchange my skills for dollars.

Here's what I did, I looked at all my existing skills and thought deeply on which one could serve as my low-hanging fruit.

SEO topped the list, but SEO is very wide, that means I needed to niche down as well.

During this thinking process, I reached out to one of my beloved brothers. I asked him to send me learning resources on practical SEO.

He sent me a full course of Charles Floate on SEO (Learn SEO: The Right Way & SEO as Side Hustle)

This gave me clarity on how to make money with my SEO skills and made it easy for me to niche down as well.

After reading those materials and watching some video courses on cold email, I decided to start pitching my SEO skills with special focus on Local SEO, On-Page SEO & YouTube SEO.

From the cold email videos (those videos were released to me by the same brother, may God reward him abundantly) and Br Daud Sulaimon Abiola video course on Getting Clients from LinkedIn & Instagram (I can't remember the actual name of this course again).

I started pitching for a freelance job on the following platforms; Instagram, Twitter & LinkedIn.

I tried my best on Fivver but it seems that platform doesn't align with my destiny.

Of course, I made the first $100 from Upwork that same year offering SEO content writing and YouTube script writing.

It's not easy I scraped thousands of emails from Instagram, Facebook & Twitter, I set a target to send a thousand cold emails.

I got a job before I reached 500 emails within 30 days of consistent pitching on LinkedIn.

I actually pitched the client on offering her free local SEO to get her Google My Business ranked on first page, beat her competitors and have her website on the first page of SERP with 5 keywords related to her business.

Within 3 weeks of working for her, her business got to the first page with 5 solid keywords.

She was happy and I was happy. Not only that I helped her to fix her Google Ad.

She offered to pay me $450, I was happy to receive the first dollars exchanging my skills for money.

Then, the exchange rate was like #650 - $1, I was highly delighted to earn such an amount of money from my side hustle (before opportunists choose to come to my inbox to "tax" me, let me tell you this I had blown up the money since the day I earned it)

Of course, I encountered some obstacles along the line. How to get the money became a big headache before she later helped me sorted it out herself.

Here's what you need to make money online;

I want to assume you have armed yourself with highly sought after skills and niche down as much as you can.

Then you will need the following;

Platforms to sell your skills - this could be Fivver, Upwork, LinkedIn or Social Media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn

You will also need work samples or social proof and series of messages to convince the clients to employ you. (Always remember that the money is in the follow up)

My advice on work samples, find someone or any small business you can offer free services at the beginning and do that work to the best of your ability because the work will serve as your credentials or social proofs.

This is what I did with my SEO knowledge before I started making money from the skill.

I used the knowledge to promote my personal business, website, Facebook page and YouTube channel.

So that whenever clients asked me for proof, I can just send them the best of the previous works I did for my business.

Also, you need to find means of receiving money from abroad. I use platforms like Grey. co, Payoneer, I opened PayPal but got struck along the line. So far Grey. co has been very helpful.

Of course, you need a lot of patience, dedication and commitment.

It isn't easy but it makes a lot of economic sense that you have skills you can exchange for money on the side and know how to convert the skills to money.

So that when the economy becomes "balabulu" you can depend on your side hustle to bounce back.

Let's motivate others, how do you make your first money online?

Pic; I made sure I received the hard currency in hard copies to feel it.

Business / Attention: Low Income Earners. This post is not meant for people with fat salary by akinsmail51: 7:14pm On Jan 20
This post is not meant for people with fat salaries, it's for people whose salaries do not match up with their basic needs.

Let's paint a scenario, to master a skill for a school leaver, to learn a trade or craftsmanship, it takes a minimum of 6 months to 36 months for people who embark on this on full time basis at a tender age.

Imagine yourself as someone who wants to acquire the same skills, trade or craftsmanship but with limited time.

By limited time I mean the available time you have after your daily work.

Depending on your salaried job, most employees have their weekends and 3 - 5 hours daily to do what they want.

Here's my belief (based on personal experience), if you can spend your available time to acquire high income skills, learn a trade or craftsmanship, It's most likely that you'll spend 3X of the time that people doing it full-time will spend.

Good, assuming you've decided to spend your time to acquire high-income skills to augment your income right from the second year that you began your existing salaried jobs, I can bet it you would have become an expert now.

This acquired skills would have started fetching you money on the side and you may even be fortunate to earn your annual emoluments from this side hustle.

Before you raise an eyebrow or put up a defence of no time or excuse of getting exhausted after the daily work.

Let me tell you I had practical experience of what I stated above.

I worked on a salaried job in a school environment full-time for solid 10 years.

I combined this stipendary job with schooling, skill acquisition and business on the side.

It's during those times I had my HND, went for NYSC, had my BSC and other professional certifications, yet I didn't resign from my full-time job and even I had this education as a full-time student as well.

It's doable and feasible, if you are determined to solve your money problems yourself.

Here are some trades or businesses you can devote time to learn while still working as full-time workers;

1. Building materials business
2. Tailoring materials business
3. Clothing materials business
4. Foodstuffs business
5. Phone repair services
6. Laptop repair services
7. Generator repair services
