Business / Do You Have A Business Problem And Need Expert Assistance? by akinsmail51: 4:45pm On Aug 18, 2023
The truth is that most people have solvable problems in their businesses. But not everyone can solve these problems alone.

Some business owners recognise they're having challenges (let me use polished word) in their businesses but get no one to talk to.

Those who have people they can approach are afraid of what the fee may look like.

But let me tell you this bitter truth, whatever you pay to save or grow your business, it ain't a cost rather a necessary investment that bears you returns and prevents you from frustrations and losses.

Asides from capital problem, many business owners and entrepreneurs struggle to make sales.

And without sales, production or stocks become scrap.

Don't you think it's a worthwhile cause for you to spend money to get marketing your products or services right?

When business is slow, the prudent strategy is to step up your marketing efforts, not slow them down.

That reminds me a brother I forced (yes I forced him few weeks ago) to implement a certain marketing strategy .

I even helped him with some product photography and product description.

I was very delighted when reading about the number of new customers he got within a week of implementing my advice.

Most business owners know they're having marketing problems, and yet do absolute nothing about it.

You don't need to become helpless nor hopeless.

What if a marketing consultant volunteers to help you, would you be interested to grab the offer?

If yes, book an hour consultation with Ismaeel Akintayo via WhatsApp at +234 80 6552 4808 this weekend and let's discuss what's bothering you about your business.

Here's an offer to help you dissect your business and present you with growth strategies that will help you find new ways of revenue generation and improve your business sustainability.

PS: Ismaeel Akintayo is an entrepreneur, a certified marketing consultant and high-ticket sales executive with both professional qualifications and street-wise marketing experience.

Asides from my BSC and recent "MBA"s, I have had HND in Marketing since 2008, become a qualified member of National Institute of Marketing Nigeria since 2010, plus loads of relevant certifications in digital marketing.

Islam for Muslims / “Verily Allaah Does Not Sleep And It Does Not Befit Him To Sleep” – Shaykh Uthay by akinsmail51: 6:35am On Aug 18, 2023
[ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ]
Neither slumber, nor sleep overtakes Him,
[Qur’aan, Aayatul-Kursi , Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255]

Allaah did not say (what means): “He does not sleep,” instead He said:{ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ } (which means) “does not overtake Him” in order to comprise the sleep that overcomes and that arising by choice.

If you say, “Does not sleep,” it would imply that He does not sleep by choice.

However, Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, does not sleep neither by ghalabah (overcoming) nor by choice, because sleep is an imperfect attribute which contradicts both the perfection of the Self and the perfection in relation to others.

The person who is given to sleep misses a lot of his work because of His sleeping.

Consider, for example, the case of a person who has many people working for him and he sleeps a lot.

He is unable to neither reckon with nor manage the business or other related matters. This is an imperfection with respect to others.

The person who is given to sleep misses a lot of his work because of His sleeping.

Consider, for example, the case of a person who has many people working for him and he sleeps a lot.

He is unable to neither reckon with nor manage the business or other related matters. This is an imperfection with respect to others.

As regard to self-perfection, sleep is a deficiency because it indicates that the person’s body got tired and thus he needed the sleep as a rest from what has passed, as well as a means to renew his activity to engage in what will come ahead.

That is the why the people of al-Jannah do not sleep—because of the perfection of their lives and bodies. No illness or the like touches them.

If someone says, “We know that the person who does not sleep is unable to do so because of some kind of sickness or a defect, while you say that the lack of sleep is perfection. Explain.”

We say, “This applies to the creature, and in this case perfection is a relative matter [with respect to Allaah it is perfection].

There is no doubt that the person who does not sleep because of an illness has a defect, and that is why he stays always in a state of languor and exhaustion.

Thus, his welfare will not be established. This is evident from the saying of Allaah, the Most High:

[ وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا ]
And have made your sleep as a thing for rest
[Qur’aan, Soorat An-Naba’ (78:9)],

meaning that sleep is something that will discontinue the hardship and tiredness.

If Allaah would sleep, and far is He above such imperfection, then this would necessitate that He needs to rest.

In addition, the creation will be ruined because they are in need of Him; even the sleeping person is in need of Allaah.

In fact, the Prophet (صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم) used to invoke Allaah at night when he was about to sleep:

فَإِنْ أَمْسَكْتَ نَفْسِي فَارْحَمْهَا، وَإِنْ أَرْسَلْتَهَا فَاحْفَظْهَا، بِمَا تَحْفَظُ بِهِ عِبَادَكَ الصَّالِحِين

“If You take my soul, bestow mercy on it [and forgive it, as in another narration], and if You release it then protect it as You protect your righteous slaves.” [Saheeh al-Bukhaari (Arabic/English), vol. 8, no. 332.]

In short, it is impossible that Allaah, the One free of all imperfections and the Most High, sleeps. The Prophet (صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم) said:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَنَامُ وَلاَ يَنْبَغِي لَهُ أَنْ يَنَامَ
“Verily Allaah does not sleep and it does not befit Him to sleep.” [Saheeh Muslim (English Translation), vol. 1, no. 343.]

The word [ ”لا يَنبَغِي “] does not befit] when used in the Qur’aan and sunnah means “the thing which is absolutely impossible to be,” as Allaah (تعالى ) said:

[ وَمَا يَنبَغِي لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا ]

But it is not befitting for (the Majesty of) ar-Rahmaan (Allaah) that He should beget a son (or offspring or children). [Qur’aan, Soorat Maryam (19:92)].

[It should be noted] that Allaah’s saying:

[ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ]
Neither slumber, nor sleep overtakes Him,

signifies as-sifaat as-salbiyyah (attributes of negation: negating any imperfection and implying perfection).

The rule with respect to the Names and Attributes of Allaah, the Most High, is that there is no such thing as a pure attribute of negation.

Indeed, when as-sifaat as-salbiyyah are mentioned, it is because they imply the perfection of the attributes that are in contradiction to those of negation.

So, because of the Perfection of Allaah’s Life and qayyoumiyyah, then neither slumber nor sleep overtake Him.

The above explanation is excerpted from the Shaykh Uthaymeen’s explanation of Aayatul-Kursi, Translated by Dr. Saleh as-Saleh rahimahullaah

Islam for Muslims / Do Not Sell What You Don’t Have by akinsmail51: 7:24am On Aug 17, 2023
And from the forbidden types of business transactions is: When a man sells something that he doesn’t own.

For example, a man goes to a businessman looking for a specific product, but this businessman doesn’t have this specific product. Yet they both agree to a contract (for the sale of the product) and agree on the extent of the price (on the item) presently or in the future. And all the while, the product is not found in the possession of the businessman or the buyer.

Then the businessman goes and buys this product and hands it over to the buyer after they already agreed to a price and they made a contract and determined the value as it relates to present terms or in the future.

So this kind of business transaction is haraam. Why?

Because he sold something he didn’t own and he sold something before gaining possession of it, if the product was specified.

As for if the product was not specified and its price was delayed, he actually sold a debt on credit. The Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) forbade us from doing that, as was the case when Hakeem bin Hazaam (radyAllaahu ‘anhu) came to him, saying:

“O Messenger of Allaah, what if a man comes to me wanting to buy something from me, but I don’t have it. Then I go to the marketplace and buy it for him?”

The Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Do not sell what you don’t have.”

This is a clear cut forbiddance, therefore it is not permissible for a person to sell some specified commodity unless he is in possession of it before making a contract on it, whether he will sell it right there or in the future.

It is not permissible to take this matter lightly.

So whoever wants to sell something to the people, then he should store the products in his store or in his shop or in a warehouse or in the trunk of his car or in his office, so that he can have the products ready with him.

Then if some people who want to buy the products come to him, he can sell it to them directly or at a later time.

Business / Testimonials: Powerful Selling Tools. by akinsmail51: 6:52pm On Aug 15, 2023
"What others say about you and your product, service, or business is at least 1000 percent more convincing than what you say, even if you are 1000 percent more eloquent."

~ Marketing Guru, Dan Kennedy.

These days, consumers are skeptical. Can we blame them? No, we can't.

A certain level of skepticism is expected due to a barrel of marketing hype and sales pitches people receive each day, consumers are a bit jaded.

Hence, overcoming prospects' natural skepticism and fear becomes one of the prominent tasks of every marketer, entrepreneur, or business owner.

There's a need to create an atmosphere of trust in the business setting, and one of the portent marketing arsenals to do this is the client's testimonial.

A testimonial is simply someone else singing the praises of you, your product, service, or business for you either in writing, on audio, or videotape.

Testimonials are powerful marketing tools that prove your claims to be true. They create believability, credibility, and a sense of security for your customer.

Testimonials help you to remove the innate barriers and distrust that most buyers feel towards you or your business.

Not using testimonials in your marketing messages is a BIG mistake.

Always do a full marketing job, and make use of a "preponderance of testimonials" every time.

Testimonial works! Because it has the magic power of persuasion. It is an instinct to mimic what others are doing.

Customers who give testimonials are more loyal as they feel they are helping you and your business to grow.

They feel as though they have a direct hand in the success of your business, they will stay loyal.

Now go and get some great testimonials and build an army of loyal customers.

Business / It’s Time To Re-double Your Marketing Efforts And Make Them Your First Priority by akinsmail51: 10:06am On Aug 01, 2023
The only way to survive and thrive during tough economic times is to re-focus your attention on marketing. Marketing is what drives successful businesses.

Good marketing can overcome a multitude of business sins. They don’t excuse the business sins but they can make up for them.

Most entrepreneurs and business owners are “doers”, not “planners.”

In reality, being a doer is perhaps the ultimate mark of a successful person. It’s what makes entrepreneurs a rare breed.

Rather than thinking or wishing, they get out there and make something happen.

But experience shows that there are many small business owners who get into trouble “doing” the wrong marketing activities the right way or “doing” the right marketing activities the wrong way.

If you want to “do” the right marketing activities the right way you must start with a marketing plan.

You don’t have to kill a tree to create an effective marketing plan.

In fact, you can create a successful marketing plan for your small business in just one day.

Business / THE FLIGHT PLAN; Do You Have A Blueprint For A Successful Business Trip by akinsmail51: 11:31am On Jul 29, 2023
A pilot would never fly from one place to another without a detailed, well researched flight plan.

His flight plan helps him figure out how he will get from one place to another.

It tells him how much fuel he will need, what important landmarks he should look for, and how long it will take to get there.

It is his blueprint for a successful trip.

Your business plan is your version of a flight plan. It is your blueprint for a successful business trip.

Creating a business plan forces you to carefully think through your proposed business.

📌It will detail how much money you need to get started and stay aloft.

📌And it will help you understand how to deal with the competition.

📌Writing a business plan will sharpen your marketing ideas, help you understand projected costs and sales, and much more.

By analyzing your business thoroughly—both the things you know well and those you do not— a business plan forces you to really figure out what you are getting into and what it will take to succeed.

It is your road map for a prosperous, rewarding journey.

There are two major demerits to not having a business plan.

❎First, without one, your enterprise will be a gamble. It may succeed, it may fail. Who knows? Certainly not you, that’s for sure.

A well-researched business plan reduces the risk of failure.

❎Second, without a plan, you will never attract an investor. If you require outside funding to get your business started, any investor will want to see your business plan.

Whether you plan to apply for grants or approach a bank, an angel investor, or a venture capital firm, a business plan is a prerequisite for obtaining funding.

Writing a business plan is a lot of work.

📌In it, you analyze what you are going to do and how you plan to do it.

📌You crunch the numbers and dissect the competition.

📌You scrutinize risk and ponder reward.

It takes a lot of thought and research.

So yes, business plan is a tedious task, but if you are going to create a great small business, one that exemplifies your values and earns a fine profit, then writing a business plan is vital.

Imagine getting the chores of writing business plan off your shoulder by having it prepared for you by a team of seasoned business experts.

Imagine the thrill of walking into a bank with a bankable business plan or meeting your investors with award-wining pitch deck.

Agriculture / See How Easily You Can Retire On A Guaranteed Income For Life. by akinsmail51: 10:18pm On Jul 18, 2023
Here's the SECRET of how some people never run out of MONEY in RETIREMENT.

They store their hard-earned currency in assets such as an expanse of farmland, cash crop plantation, and landed properties in the choicest location.

Great assets are a proper store of value as they appreciate over time.

The wealthy ones jealously guard this secret, but I would like to give this out to my fellow men, while I am still able to help.

Sadly, being a retiree is a terrific experience from day one to grave for many Nigerians.

It's so terrible that if one doesn't plan for his/her retirement, one may hate himself or herself later.

What a sad reality!

I have met many people who used their youthful ages to work hard and still struggling financially during their retirement.

• A brother once narrated to me how his father struggles financially during his retirement period.

• A polytechnic lecturer, a retiree was lamenting to me his predicaments a few years ago.

There’s often a combination of excitement and anxiety as people approach retirement.

The excitement comes from having more free time, but the anxiety comes from figuring out how much can I afford to spend.

No doubt, MONEY is one of the main recipes for a successful retirement.

Having enough of it offers you *a buffer or a "shock-absorber"* against combative shocks such as an economic shock, a cogent financial pressure, or contingency expenses.

In other words, as you're approaching retirement, you need to have a financial plan, and a plan to stay engaged and productive.

The bitter truth is this, no one knows how he or she will feel once retired. But here's the good news:

There are a lot of different ways you can be successful in retirement. There's one formula I will like to share with you today.

It's simply an investment in FARMLAND and CASH CROP PLANTATION. This is the secret to how our forefathers never go broke.

What harvest do YOU want to reap ten or fifteen years from now?

Money to put your children through university, or start them in a business of their own?

Security for yourself? Financial Independence?

You have only to set your goal to win now and at your retirement.

Annually, our forefathers reaped near-cash crops they easily turned into money.

They made annual fortunes from cashew, cocoa, kola nut, bitter kola, orange, mango, plantain, etcetera etcetera.

Here's an opportunity for you to follow their money-making footprints. I have a very HOT deal for you.

What would you say if it's handled over to YOU an existing farm [50 acres] comprising of cashew, cocoa, and plantain plantation already at fruiting stages?

What do you think about owning 20 hectares [50 acres] of farmland in a secured environment with valid documents having the same status as a typical C of O?

We're ready to sell this cash crop plantation on 20 hectares of farmland for a whooping ₦25,000,000.

Yes, it's a huge amount of money but think of it as paying ₦500,000 to have an acre of existing farm and 6 PLOTS of farmland in exchange.

This is a clarion call to contribute towards your pension.

Regardless of whether you’re nearing retirement or just starting to plan your future, saving for later in life is essential.

It makes good financial sense to think carefully about what you wish to do once you stop actively working.

Don't you think there's a pressing need to protect YOURSELF and YOUR FAMILY during rough tough financial times, in economic downturns, and with unexpected layoffs?

See this as a veritable chance for you to get your money to work for YOU instead of all credit institutions that are silently stealing your future wealth.

It is an opportunity for YOU to own farmland with a cash crop plantation without hassle and earn yearly returns while the land appreciates!

Feel free to reach me on Whatsapp at +234 80 24 74 30 10 or call +234 802 489 0107 for more details on how to get started today.

NB: This farm would make a nice investment for an individual, cooperative society, association, organization, and whoever desires to store his wealth in landed properties.

Islam for Muslims / Entitlement To Profit According To Islamic Rulings by akinsmail51: 12:07pm On Jul 16, 2023
Entitlement to profit:

No one is entitled to profit unless he invests money, does the work or undertakes liability.

In that case, he is entitled to the profit, because it is the growth of the wealth, so it belongs to the owner of that wealth.

For that reason the owner of the wealth is entitled to a share of the profit in the case of mudaarabah [a partnership in which one partner invest capital and the other invests his labour].

Entitlement to a share of the profit is deserved if someone works and puts in effort, as in the case of the one who does the work in a mudaarabah partnership, so he is entitled to a share of the profits.

This is similar to the concept of hiring someone to do work.

A person may also be entitled to a share of the profits in return for undertaking liability, as in the case of a partnership where each partner has full authority and full liability, because the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:

“Profit is by virtue of liability” or “The proceeds are by virtue of liability.”

In other words, whoever is liable has a right to the proceeds.

Hence it is permissible for a person to take on work – such as sewing a garment –for a certain fee, then agree with someone else to do this work for a fee lower than what he is going to be paid, and to take the difference as a lawful profit, for the simple reason that he is liable for the work, even though he is not going to do any of the work himself, and perhaps he has no wealth of his own at all.

If none of these three scenarios apply, in which a person is only entitled to profit because of one of them, then there is no way that he may be entitled to take any profit.

Hence, it is not right for one person to say to another, Use (invest) your wealth on condition that the profit will be mine, or the profit will be shared between us.

This is nonsense according to all the fuqaha’.

The profit belongs to the owner of the wealth, without anyone else having the right to any claim on it.

End quote. al-Mawsoo‘ah al-Fiqhiyyah (26/60)

One was a beggar! While begging in the train journey, he saw Seth ji wearing a suit boot. He thought that this person looks very rich, he will definitely give me good money if I beg him. He started begging from that Seth.

Seeing the beggar, that Seth said, "You always beg, do you ever give anything to anyone?"

The beggar said, "Sir, I am a beggar, I always beg from people, where is my status that I can give something to someone?"

Seth :- When you cannot give anything to anyone, then you have no right to even ask. I am a businessman and believe in transaction only, if you have something to give me then only I can give you something in return.

Only then the station came where that Seth had to get down, he got off the train and left.

Here the beggar started thinking about what Seth had said. The words spoken by Seth entered the heart of that beggar.

He started thinking that maybe I don't get much money in begging because I am not able to give anything to anyone in return.

But I am a beggar, I am not even capable of giving anything to anyone.

But how long will I keep on begging without giving anything to the people.

After thinking a lot, the beggar decided that whatever person gives him alms, he will definitely give something to that person in return.

But now the question was running in his mind that he himself is a beggar, so what can he give to others in return of alms?

The whole day passed thinking about this but he could not find any answer to his question.

The other day when he was sitting near the station, he saw some flowers which were blooming on the plants around the station, he thought, why not give some flowers instead of alms to the people.

He liked this idea of his and plucked some flowers from there.

He reached to beg in the train. Whenever someone gave him alms, he would give some flowers to the beggar in return.

People happily kept those flowers with them.

Now the beggar used to pluck flowers everyday and in return of alms he used to distribute those flowers among the people.

Within a few days, he realized that now too many people have started begging him. He used to pluck all the flowers near the station.

As long as flowers remained with him, many people used to give him alms.

But when the flowers were finished while being distributed, then he did not even get alms, now it continued like this everyday.

One day when he was begging, he saw the same Seth sitting in the train, because of which he was inspired to give flowers instead of alms.

He immediately reached to that person and said begging, today I have some flowers to give you, you give me alms, I will give you some flowers in return.

Seth gave him some money as alms and the beggar gave him some flowers. That Seth liked this very much.

Seth :- Wow what's the matter..? Today you have also become a businessman like me, saying this, he took the flower and got down at the Seth station.

But what was said by that Seth once again entered the heart of that beggar.

He started thinking about what that Seth had said again and again and became very happy.

His eyes started shining now, he felt that now he has got the key to success in his hands by which he can change his life.

He immediately got down from the train and excitedly looking up at the sky said in a very loud voice, "I am not a beggar, I am a businessman..

I too can become like that Seth.. I too can become rich!

When people saw him, they thought that maybe this beggar had gone mad, from the next day that beggar was never seen again at that station.

A year later, two persons were traveling at the same station wearing suit boots.

When both saw each other, one of them bowed to the other with folded hands and said, "Did you recognize me?"

Seth :- ′′ Otherwise! Maybe we are meeting for the first time.

Beggar :- Seth ji.. You remember, we are meeting not for the first time but for the third time.

Seth: I can't remember, when did we meet twice before?

Now the first person smiled and said:

We met twice before in the same train, I am the same beggar whom you told in the first meeting what I should do in life and in the second meeting you told me who I really am.

As a result, today I am a very big trader of flowers and I am going to another city for the work of this business.

You told me the law of nature in the first meeting... according to which we get something only when we give something.

This rule of transaction really works, I have felt it very well, but I always thought of myself as a beggar, I never thought of rising above it and when I met you for the second time, you told me that I have become a businessman.

Now I understood that I have not really become a beggar but a businessman.

It's a matter of understanding...

As long as the beggar considered himself a beggar, he remained a beggar.

He considered himself a businessman, became a businessman.

The day we will understand who I am...

Then what will be left to know and understand?

Islam for Muslims / The Wonderful Attitude Of Muslim! by akinsmail51: 10:16pm On Jun 26, 2023
Amazing is the affair of the Believer, verily all of his affair is Good.

On the authority of Suhaib (may Allaah be pleased with him) he said: The Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam said:

“Amazing is the affair of the believer, verily all of his affair is good and this is not for no one except the believer. If something of good/happiness befalls him he is grateful and that is good for him. If something of harm befalls him he is patient and that is good for him”

(Saheeh Muslim #2999)

From this we understand that the state of affairs for the believer changes in the life of this world.

Shaykhul Islaam ibn Qayyim al-Jawzeeyah (may Allaah have mercy upon him) said regarding the state of affairs for the believer:

“One of them is the state of (receiving a) blessing. It’s obligatory upon him (the believer) in this state (to display) the gratitude.

The second: is the state (of being) tested. It is obligatory upon him (the believer) in this state (to observe) the patience.

The third: is the state (of committing) a sin. It is obligatory upon him (the believer) in this state to seek the forgiveness from it (the sin).

The servant does not go outside of the fluctuation between these three states.

Islam for Muslims / Things To Avoid In Dhul Hijjah by akinsmail51: 9:24pm On Jun 18, 2023
Question: What must the Muslim avoid during these ten days if he wants to offer a sacrifice?

The Sunnah indicates that the one who wants to offer a sacrifice must stop cutting his hair and nails and removing anything from his skin, from the beginning of the ten days until after he has offered his sacrifice, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"When you see the new moon of Dhul-Hijjah, if any one of you wants to offer a sacrifice, then he should stop cutting his hair and nails until he has offered his sacrifice."

According to another report he said: "He should not remove (literally, touch) anything from his hair or skin." (reported by Muslim with four isnads, 13/146)

The Prophet’s instruction here makes one thing obligatory and his prohibition makes another haram, according to the soundest opinion, because these commands and prohibitions are unconditional and unavoidable.

However, if a person does any of these things deliberately, he must seek Allah’s forgiveness but is not required to offer (an extra) sacrifice in expiation; his sacrifice will be acceptable.

Whoever needs to remove some hair, nails, etc. because it is harming him, such as having a broken nail or a wound in a site where there is hair, should do so, and there is nothing wrong with that.

The state of ihram is so important that it is permitted to cut one’s hair if leaving it will cause harm.

There is nothing wrong with men or women washing their heads during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) only forbade cutting the hair, not washing it.

The wisdom behind this prohibition of the one who wants to offer a sacrifice from cutting his hair etc., is so that he may resemble those in ihram in some aspects of the rites performed, and so that he may draw closer to Allah by offering the sacrifice.

So he leaves his hair and nails alone until the time when he has offered his sacrifice, in the hope that Allah will save him in his entirety from the Fire. And Allah knows best.

If a person has cut his hair or nails during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah because he was not planning to offer a sacrifice, then he decides later, during the ten days, to offer a sacrifice, then he must refrain from cutting his hair and nails from the moment he makes this decision.

Some women may delegate their brothers or sons to make the sacrifice on their behalf, then cut their hair during these ten days.

This is not correct, because the ruling applies to the one who is offering the sacrifice, whether or not he (or she) delegates someone else to carry out the actual deed.

The prohibition does not apply to the person delegated, only to the person who is making the sacrifice, as is indicated in the hadith.

The person who is sacrificing on behalf of someone else, for whatever reason, does not have to adhere to this prohibition.

This prohibition appears to apply only to the one who is offering the sacrifice, not to his wife and children, unless any of them is offering a sacrifice in his or her own right, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to sacrifice "on behalf of the family of Muhammad," but there are no reports that say he forbade them to cut their hair or nails at that time.

If a person was planning to offer a sacrifice, then he decides to go and perform Hajj, he should not cut his hair or nails if he wants to enter ihram, because the Sunnah is only to cut hair and nails when necessary.

But if he is performing Tamattu’ [whereby he performs ‘Umrah, comes out of ihram and enters ihram anew for Hajj], he should trim his hair at the end of his ‘Umrah because this is part of the ritual.

The things that are described above as being prohibited for the person who is planning to offer a sacrifice are reported in the hadith quoted above; the person is not forbidden to wear perfume, have marital relations, wear sewn garments, etc.

What to do in Dhul Hijjah

Concerning the types of worship to be performed during these ten days, one must understand that these days are a great blessing from Allah to His slave, which is appreciated properly by the actively righteous.

It is the Muslim’s duty to appreciate this blessing and make the most of the opportunity, by devoting these ten days to paying more attention to striving hard in worship.

Among His blessings to His slaves, Allah has given us many ways in which to do good and worship Him, so that the Muslim may be constantly active and consistent in his worship of his Lord.

Among the good deeds which the Muslim should strive to do during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are:

1.Fasting.

It is Sunnah to fast on the ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah , because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) urged us to do good deeds during this time, and fasting is one of the best of deeds.

Allah has chosen fasting for Himself, as is stated in the hadith qudsi: "Allah says: ‘All the deeds of the son of Adam are for him, except for fasting, which is for Me and I am the One Who will reward him for it.’" (Reported by al-Bukhari, 1805).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to fast on the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah.

It was narrated from Hunaydah ibn Khalid from his wife, that one of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to fast on the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah and the day of ‘Ashura, and three days each month, the first Monday of the month and two Thursdays.

Narrated by al-Nasai, 4/205 and by Abu Dawud; classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih Abi Dawud, 2/462.

2. Takbir.

It is Sunnah to say Takbir[b] ("Allahu akbar"wink, Tahmid ("Al-hamdu Lillah"wink, Tahlil ("La ilaha ill-Allah"wink and Tasbih ("Subhan Allah"wink[/b] during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, and to say it loudly in the mosque, the home, the street and every place where it is permitted to remember Allah and mention His name out loud, as an act of worship and as a proclamation of the greatness of Allah, may He be exalted.

Men should recite these phrases out loud, and women should recite them quietly.

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

"That they might witness things that are of benefit to them (i.e., reward of Hajj in the Hereafter, and also some worldly gain from trade, etc.), and mention the name of Allah on appointed days, over the beast of cattle that He has provided for them (for sacrifice)..." [al-Hajj 22:28]

The majority of scholars agree that the "appointed days" are the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, because of the words of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father): "The ‘appointed days’ are the first ten days (of Dhul-Hijjah)."

The Takbir may include the words "Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, la ilaha ill-Allah; wa Allahu akbar wa Lillaahi’l-hamd (Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great, there is no god but Allah; Allah is Most Great and to Allah be praise)," as well as other phrases.

Takbir at this time is an aspect of the Sunnah that has been forgotten, especially during the early part of this period, so much so that one hardly ever hears Takbir, except from a few people.

This Takbir should be pronounced loudly, in order to revive the Sunnah and as a reminder to the negligent.

There is sound evidence that Ibn ‘Umar and Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with them) used to go out in the marketplace during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, reciting Takbir, and the people would recite Takbir when they heard them.

The idea behind reminding the people to recite Takbir is that each one should recite it individually, not in unison, as there is no basis in Shari’ah for doing this.

Reviving aspects of the Sunnah that have been virtually forgotten is a deed that will bring an immense reward, as is indicated by the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him):

"Whoever revives an aspect of my Sunnah that is forgotten after my death, he will have a reward equivalent to that of the people who follow him, without it detracting in the least from their reward."

(Reported by al-Tirmidhi, 7/443; this is a hasan hadith because of corroborating asanid).

3.Performing Hajj and ‘Umrah.

One of the best deeds that one can do during these ten days is to perform Hajj to the Sacred House of Allah.

The one whom Allah helps to go on Hajj to His House and to perform all the rituals properly is included in the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him):

"An accepted Hajj brings no less a reward than Paradise."

4.Doing more good deeds in general, because good deeds are beloved by Allah and will bring a great reward from Him.

Whoever is not able to go to Hajj should occupy himself at this blessed time by worshipping Allah, praying (salah), reading Quran, remembering Allah, making supplication (du’a), giving charity, honouring his parents, upholding the ties of kinship, enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil, and other good deeds and acts of worship.

5.Sacrifice.

One of the good deeds that will bring a person closer to Allah during these ten days is offering a sacrifice, by choosing a high-quality animal and fattening it, and spending money for the sake of Allah. (more information to follow, in sha Allah).

6.Sincere repentance.

One of the most important things to do during these ten days is to repent sincerely to Allah and to give up all kinds of disobedience and sin.

Repentance means coming back to Allah and foregoing all the deeds, open and secret, that He dislikes, out of regret for what has passed, giving it up immediately and being determined never to return to it, but to adhere firmly to the Truth by doing what Allah loves.

If a Muslim commits a sin, he must hasten to repent at once, without delay, firstly because he does not know when he will die, and secondly because one evil deed leads to another.

Repentance at special times is very important because in most cases people’s thoughts turn towards worship at these times, and they are keen to do good, which leads to them recognizing their sins and feeling regret for the past.

Repentance is obligatory at all times, but when the Muslim combines sincere repentance with good deeds during the days of most virtue, this is a sign of success, in sha Allah.

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

"But as for him who repented, believed and did righteous deeds, then he will be among those who are successful." [al-Qasas 28:67]

The Muslim should make sure that he does not miss any of these important occasions, because time is passing quickly.

Let him prepare himself by doing good deeds which will bring him reward when he is most in need of it, for no matter how much reward he earns, he will find it is less than he needs; the time of departure is at hand, the journey is frightening, delusions are widespread, and the road is long, but Allah is ever watchful, and to Him will we return and render account.

As the Quran says (interpretation of the meaning):

"So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom, shall see it,

And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom, shall see it." [al-Zalzalah 99:7-8]

There is much to be gained, so make the most of the opportunity afforded by these invaluable and irreplaceable ten days.

Hasten to do good works, before death strikes, before one can regret one’s negligence and failure to act, before one is asked to return to a place where no prayers will be answered, before death intervenes between the hopeful one and the things he hopes for, before you are trapped with your deeds in the grave.

O you whose hard heart is as dark as the night, is it not time that your heart was filled with light and became soft?

Expose yourself to the gentle breeze of your Lord’s mercy during these ten days, for Allah will cause this breeze to touch whomever He wills, and whoever is touched by it will be happy on the Day of Judgement.

May Allah bless our Prophet Muhammad and all his Family and Companions.

And Allah knows best.

Islam for Muslims / So That It Doesn’t Get To Divorce: 10 Pieces Of Golden Advice. by akinsmail51: 7:42pm On Jun 18, 2023
1/10
The starting point concerning relationships between married couples is that [they’re supposed to be] lasting and ongoing, not [ending in] divorce and splitting up.

So it’s not right that a couple mention divorce during an argument or dispute; instead, each must do his [or her] best to calm the situation down and solve the problem.

2/10
[Consider] the ḥadīth: “A believing man should not [completely] hate a believing woman [he’s married to]; if he were to hate some aspect of her character, he should [at the same time] be pleased with another one of hers.”

Meaning: a husband should not hate his wife just because he sees a mistake [she’s made] or comes to know of a sin [she’s fallen into]. And a wife is likewise addressed with the same.
Who’s someone who never makes mistakes?!

3/10
A wife mustn’t lend her ear to everyone who offers [her] advice, even if [that person] were the closest of close people [to her] like [her own] sister or a friend. She should only consider those who advise her from among them [whose advice is] in accordance with the dictates of Islamic law and wisdom; then [that person’s] advice will bring about more good, prevent harm, and fix what’s wrong.

How often it is a piece of advice looks like mercy on the outside while its inner reality and effects are [really] separation and conflict.

4/10
If both husband and wife were to take care of their individual responsibilities in family matters, in their marital life, and in whatever’s related to [their] children—and that [happens] by their fulfilling [all] obligations [in Islam] and knowing the rights [of others]—we wouldn’t find, under the portico of [any] court of law, anything of disputes concerning that.

5/10
Polygyny is a matter that Allāh has legislated for numerous wisdoms.

But many men who’ve engaged in polygyny have marred its image, [not having done it properly, it] then becoming a cause of losing their family and children. And they’ve put people off [polygyny] as well—those who’ve made it their primary occupation to [get other] men to do it; in fact, they [even] insinuate that those who don’t do it are lacking in their manhood!!!

6/10
Among the reasons [marriages] break up is weak moral restraint, falling into sins, and laxity about that; sins have a tremendous effect on the occurrence of disputes.

But few are they from married couples who wake up and realize that.

7/10
That there’s trust between husband and wife is a matter of utmost importance. A man’s looking out to discover [something bad] from his wife and waiting for her [to slip up] and a woman’s doing the same to her husband is proof that things aren’t stable [in a marriage].

Doubt entering between husband and wife is an announcement of a [potential] split and is a path from among the various paths that lead to divorce.

8/10
[The way] some husbands point out their wives’ faults [to them] again and again and then follow that up by mentioning their desire to get more than one wife is one of those things that kills the joy [for a wife] and leads to ruining a good thing and driving [her] away.

Then what kind of love does a husband expect to get [from her] after that?!

9/10
A wife’s showing she doesn’t need her husband, whether that’s by her being employed or by some other way, and [her] working to take over being in charge [of the family] from him, or fighting with him over it: all of that is from the causes of instability in a family.

10/10
The love [between a couple facing marital difficulties] has to be renewed; the differences and things holding them back from being together, put an end to–without them piling up, after which fixing things becomes difficult.

And [there must be] a resolve to take advantage of every means of bringing hearts together in order to keep out all cold treatment and distancing, [both of] whose growth the devil promotes and paves the way towards.

Shaykh Dr. Muḥammad ibn Ghālib Al-ʿUmarī (may Allāh protect him)

Islam for Muslims / Virtues Of The Ten Days Of Dhul Hijjah by akinsmail51: 7:22am On Jun 17, 2023
The Muslim must understand the value of his life, increase his worship of Allah and persist in doing good deeds until the moment of death.

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

"And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty." [al-Hijr 15:99] The commentators said: "‘The certainty’ means death."

Virtues of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah

Among the special seasons of worship are the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah , which Allah has preferred over all the other days of the year. Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days."

The people asked, "Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?" He said, "Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing." (Reported by al-Bukhari, 2/457).

Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) also reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"There is no deed more precious in the sight of Allah, nor greater in reward, than a good deed done during the ten days of Sacrifice ."

He was asked, "Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?" He said, "Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing."

(Reported by al-Darimi, 1/357; its isnad is hasan as stated in al-Irwa, 3/398).

These texts and others indicate that these ten days are better than all the other days of the year, with no exceptions, not even the last ten days of Ramadan.

But the last ten nights of Ramadan are better, because they include Laylat al-Qadr ("the Night of Decree"wink, which is better than a thousand months. Thus the various reports may be reconciled. (See Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 5/412).

Reasons behind the virtues of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah

You should know, my brother in Islam, that the virtue of these ten days is based on many things:

Allah swears an oath by them, and swearing an oath by something is indicative of its importance and great benefit.

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): "By the dawn; by the ten nights" [al-Fajr 89:1-2].

Ibn 'Abbas, Ibn al-Zubayr, Mujahid and others of the earlier and later generations said that this refers to the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. Ibn Kathir said: "This is the correct opinion." (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 8/413)

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) testified that these are the best days of this world, as we have already quoted above from sahih ahadith.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) encouraged people to do righteous deeds because of the virtue of this season for people throughout the world, and also because of the virtue of the place - for the Hujjaj (pilgrims) to the Sacred House of Allah.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded us to recite a lot of Tasbih ("Subhan-Allah"wink, Tahmid ("Al-hamdu Lillah"wink and Takbir ("Allahu akbar"wink during this time.

‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"There are no days greater in the sight of Allah and in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Him than these ten days, so during this time recite a great deal of Tahlil ("La ilaha ill-Allah"wink, Takbir and Tahmid." (Reported by Ahmad, 7/224; Ahmad Shakir stated that it is sahih).

These ten days include Yawm ‘Arafah (the Day of ‘Arafah ), on which Allah perfected His Religion.

Fasting on this day will expiate for the sins of two years.

These days also include Yawm al-Nahar (the Day of Sacrifice ), the greatest day of the entire year and the greatest day of Hajj , which combines acts of worship in a way unlike any other day.

These ten days include the days of sacrifice and of Hajj.

Islam for Muslims / Who Are The Muhajirin And Ansar? by akinsmail51: 7:30am On Jun 16, 2023
The Muhajirin and Ansar are the Companions and students of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).

They are the best of this ummah and, indeed, the best of humanity after the Prophets and Messengers.

Their hearts were filled with love for Allah, may He be exalted, veneration of Him, fear of Him and faith in Him.

They loved the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) more than they loved themselves, and they showed the greatest of sincerity in that.

They offered their lives and their wealth and all that they possessed in support of this religion, and in defending it, spreading it and calling people to it.

There have never been and will never be any humans who are more perfect than them in faith and better than them in worship and in attitude and conduct.

They deserved the praise of Allah in many verses of the Holy Qur’an, and the praise of the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) in many hadiths.

In fact, the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) described loving them as part of faith, and he described hating them as part of hypocrisy, because the one who studies their biographies and learns about their faith and character, and the sacrifices they made in support of this religion cannot but love them, if he is a believer who loves this religion.

If he hates them, then he is a hypocrite who hates this religion and hates to spread it and adhere to it.

Regarding the Muhajirin, they are the ones who became Muslim before the conquest of Makkah and migrated to join the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) in Madinah, where they settled.

They left behind their homelands, their wealth and their families, seeking that which is with Allah, seeking to earn His good pleasure, and in support of this religion.

Regarding the Ansar, they are the people of Madinah who welcomed the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and his Companions, the Muhajirin.

They gave them refuge in Madinah and shared their wealth with them, not withholding anything from them out of stinginess, and they strove in Allah’s cause, offering their wealth and their lives.

One of the verses in which Allah praises the Muhajirin is:

{For the poor emigrants who were expelled from their homes and their properties, seeking bounty from Allah and [His] approval and supporting Allah and His Messenger, [there is also a share]. Those are the truthful} [al-Hashr 59:8].

This is testimony from Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, attesting to the purity of their hearts, and that they did not leave their homes and their properties for the sake of some worldly gain; rather they left seeking that which is with Allah, and in support of His religion, and they were sincere in their faith, their actions and their words.

Then Allah, may He be exalted, praises the Ansar, as He says:

{And [also for] those who were settled in al-Madinah and [adopted] the faith before them. They love those who emigrated to them and find not any want in their hearts of what the emigrants were given but give [them] preference over themselves, even though they are in privation. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful} [al-Hashr 59:9].

In other words, those who lived in Madinah before the Muhajirin, and became Muslim before many of the Muhajirin.

These Ansar sincerely loved the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and his Companions, the Muhajirin: {They love those who emigrated to them} and did not envy the Muhajirin for what Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, had given them of virtue and honour [because the Muhajirin are more virtuous than the Ansar; hence the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Were it not for the Hijrah, I would have been one of the Ansar.” Narrated by al-Bukhari (4330)].

The Ansar were generous to the Muhajirin, giving them their wealth despite their own need for it: {but give [them] preference over themselves, even though they are in privation}. Then Allah, may He be exalted, testified that they would succeed, as a reward for them in return for these magnificent deeds.

And Allah, may He be exalted, says:

{And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them with good conduct - Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment} [at-Tawbah 9:100].

Here Allah, may He be exalted, tells us that He is pleased with the Muhajirin and Ansar, and He tells us that they will be among the people of Paradise, and that Paradise has been prepared for them.

In terms of the hadiths of the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), it is sufficient to note that he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The best of people are my generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them.” Narrated by al-Bukhari (2652) and Muslim (2533).

The number of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) was over one hundred thousand, of whom we know several thousands, and the most famous of them are several hundred.

The best of them are: Abu Bakr as-Siddiq, then ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab, then ‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan, then ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib, then az-Zubayr ibn al-‘Awwam, Talhah ibn ‘Ubaydillah, ‘Abd ar-Rahman ibn ‘Awf, Sa‘d ibn Abi Waqqas, Abu ‘Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah, and Sa‘id ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them all). These are the ten who were given the glad tidings of Paradise, and all of them were Muhajirin.

With regard to the Ansar, the best of them include: Sa‘d ibn Mu‘adh, Sa‘d ibn ‘Ubadah, Ubayy ibn Ka‘b, Mu‘adh ibn Jabal, Usayd ibn Hudayr, al-Bara’ ibn Ma‘rur, As‘ad ibn Zurarah, Anas ibn an-Nadr, Anas ibn Malik, Hassan ibn Thabit, and ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr ibn Haram and his son Jabir ibn ‘Abdillah (may Allah be pleased with them all).

And Allah knows best.

No one can take the position of a mother! There are shockingly very few people in the world who genuinely love you.

Number one is your mother because she bore the pain of bringing you into the world.

Coming second is your dad who contributed the seed and wants the generation to continue.

Coming at a distant third are your siblings because they believe blood is thicker than water.
