Agriculture / Farmyard Manure: Its Beauty And Uses by akinsmail51: 11:17pm On Jan 25, 2022
“Manure and diligence makes the farmer rich” ~ Swedish Proverb

As farm animals spend time in barns, stalls, pens, loafing areas, or feeding areas, the problem of dealing with farmyard manure arises, how do you dispose of it? What can it be most effectively used for? And how can it be used?

The fact is, you will need to deal with farmyard manure from those areas as those piles can not be left just sitting there. And that is when Farmyard Manure clicks in.

There are different agricultural terms employed in various countries when referring to “Farmyard Manure” such as Foldyard Manure, Yard Manure, and Dung.

All these terms refer to more or less the same thing which is a decomposed mixture of the excreta of domestic animals with the straw or other litter that enhances the fertility of the soil.

Business / Too Much Structure Could Negatively Impact Your Business! by akinsmail51: 8:17am On Jan 25, 2022
Too much structure could negatively impact your business, most especially at the initial stage of your business life, unless you're blessed with sincere partners and employees or else you will put your business in a mess easily!

This is affecting me too, I attempted to give structure to some of my businesses from 2020, I was greatly disappointed.

I employed someone last year as social media officer/CRO, the first thing he told me the third day he resumed work was Oga you're trying, your tasks alone could be handled by 7 people, I laughed it off.

He ran away within just 2 weeks, his task is simply to make calls to those leads we generate via Facebook ads and to post on our social media handles. I run the Ad myself and generate contents to be posted.

I paid someone's salaries for more than 6 months, she couldn't win a single paying client, whereas I closed sales close to #20m myself within a few months.

Another person came to me that he loves farming, he studies crop whatever, he couldn't SUPERVISE just 2 simple farm operations, even though he doesn't have to pick up a cutlass nor a hoe, just to monitor farm workers and farm operations, whereas I draw up the operation schedule myself and I visit my farms 4 times in a week.

Another person to do graphic designs, simple social media posts complained as if the tasks are killing her.

I swear by my Lord, since January 2022, I have been handling all these operations myself successfully, Glory be to God.

I generate leads myself, contact them and within just two days of calling these clients, I am surprised with the results, yet someone spent months without meaningful results.

With Canva and within a few minutes, I design most of my business's social media posts without stress.

I stopped my brother from going into the business recently, I told him to forget it if he can't do it himself, or at least he should be able to handle 75% of the business operations himself to avoid a story that touches.

You see, one is very much close to success in business if you do it yourself.

As an entrepreneur, you have to be a bit of a generalist to achieve success in your business pursuits, most especially at the initial stage of your business life.

Learn how to use Canva for simple graphic designs, learn SEO, know a bit of how to use WordPress if you're into an online business, learn copywriting, know a bit of content marketing, be a generalist at some quintessential business skills.

Of course, you need to make sure you're great at one in-demand business skill, I will always recommend marketing or closing sales skills as this seems to be the most important success ingredient in business.

Agriculture / Citrus Farming Is Capable Of Brighten Your Financial Future. by akinsmail51: 2:25pm On Jan 18, 2022
Citrus farming is capable of brighten your financial future. Citrus farming is a guaranteed money maker for serious farmers.

The last time I was in Benue state, I came across many citrus plantations. It's painful I couldn't take some nice pics of those well orchestrated farms, because I was busy with the driving.

There's this one recently set up citrus orchard I stumbled upon on my way to Taraku after AliAde, Makurdi road, Benue state. The farm is well organized, with a very big nursery at the entrance.

Since then, I have been thinking about the beauty of tree crops as this is in line with my campaigns on cash crop plantation.

Nigeria has been rated as the 9th citrus producing country in the world. This 2007 ranking by the Food and Agricultural Organization places local production at 3,325,000 tonnes.

It's said that "the sky might be grey and rain laden but the arrival of citrus fruits from sunnier climes will brighten the dullest day".

Citrus farming is capable of brighten your financial future. Citrus farming is a guaranteed money maker for serious farmers.

The cultivation of these fruits is a long term investment. Because they are tree crops, they require a longer waiting time. This can take upwards of 3 to 6 years before they start to bear fruits.

However the length of time it takes depends on the variety. There are several varieties of oranges and lemon. These also include genetically modified ones which have been fairly recent. Also these trees range in sizes.

Land will take up a major part of your expenses. However if you have a land, then you would have saved yourself a significant expenditure. This is a worthwhile venture to consider as it has long term benefits.

Interested in cash crop plantation? Tenera Farms Ltd is your sure plug when it comes to procurement of farm ready land, farm set up and management services.

Business / You'll Hardly Escape These Problems At Initial Stage Of Your Business Life. by akinsmail51: 5:22am On Jan 18, 2022
Recently, I was in a business dialogue with one of my beloved friends. After several hours of phone discussion, he made mention of something very crucial, he said it's expected that a business goes through some problematic or tough circumstances in its early stage.

Since then, this simple but profound statement has been baffling my minds. It's expected that you as a business owner or an entrepreneur encounters problems in your business pursuits, whether you like it or not.

In view of this, I will like to share with my fellow entrepreneurs or upcoming ones, some of the business hurdles you would likely come across in your entrepreneurial sojourn.

1. Overoptimism
Most of us, if not all of us, suffer from this problem. When starting out as an entrepreneur, we appear so sure about the profitability of our new business idea to the extent that we won't mind to offer our papa's house as a collateral to get the needed capital.

We have a high tendency to expect the best, or at least, a favourable outcome from our business pursuits in a jiffy. The reality proves us wrong. It takes time, lot of money, patience, perseverance and tenacity to reach profitability.

It's very hard to hit the ground running in business world. Let me share one funny experience I have with you. In one of my business pursuits, cucumber farming project.

Before I started I consulted at least 3 successful cucumber farmers in 3 states to learn the ropes. I visited their farms as well. In fact, we paid handsomely to have a business proposal and an operation guide prepared for us to run this cucumber project.

Working with the proposal and a guide from a consultant, we pooled funds to run our cucumber farming project asap. Running 1.5 acres of fully irrigated cucumber farming and an acre of sweet corn at the same time isn't an easy pie.

We spent approximately #3m, I later added personal money (hundreds of thousands Naira) to keep the project running till today.

The funny part is this, my business partners were very optimistic of what we're going to realize as profits. To the extent that they ran plant population of each cucumber stand and the least number of fruits to reap from each with a forecast of selling price.

Then, all my thinking, prayer and stance was once we recoup the initial investment, then we're good to go and very much close to profitability.

Guess what, unimaginable challenge surfaces from nowhere. We couldn't achieve 10% of the projections. Eyes turned red, blood pressure rose, we nearly fought ourselves. The unexpected shock scattered the partner circle!

This is what overoptimism does, it creates an unimaginable shock that can kill your business morale and make you to go into business extinction.

In the example cited above, my partners left the cucumber farming project with alacrity, I am the only one battling with the project now with the hope to win one day and recoup at least our huge investment.

Way out: Strive always to be conservative in your profit forecast. Even if you're sure of making #90 as a profit, put your mind at #30.

2. Underrating the Business Risks.

Excluding risk analysis or underrating business risks is another major problem we face as an entrepreneur or a business owner.

Most of us have that euphoric belief that we can run a risk free business. We go one with business as if we won't encounter any risks. We have that confidence in ourselves to avoid and to overcome obstacles that could cause great loss.

Note it, business is very risky, business is inherently risky and it's more risky if you run business in Nigeria. In fact, you're not an entrepreneur if you can assume business risks.

Merriam-Webster defines "an entrepreneur as one who organizes, manages, and assumes the risks of a business or enterprise.”

The focus then becomes understanding risk and how it factors into being an entrepreneur. “Risk,” as defined by the same dictionary, is the “possibility of loss.”

Some of the major business risks we tend to overlook include:

• Occurrence of major operational problems such as pilfering & misapplication of resources, etc.
• Higher costs than expected.
• Low sales due to downturn in the economy.
• Greater competition than expected leading to fall in sales and low profit margin.
• Funding risk (running out of cash flows before reaching achievable milestones)

Way out: Spend more time to do risk analysis before starting that business. Think through anything you think might go wrong, then come up with your risk mitigation strategies.

Always find ways beforehand to minimize or to spread the risk of your endeavor to increase the odds of your success or minimize the odds of loss.

Let me stop here this morning, I hope to addin the subsequent posts. Over to you, what are those problems you have come across in your business pursuits and how do you overcome them.

Let me be your business mentor

Business / Interesting Story Of My Mentee Who Made ₦2m From ₦5k.. by akinsmail51: 10:24pm On Jan 13, 2022
I will want to doubt it too, if I am not directly involved.

Exactly a year ago, one of my former students phoned me and requested to meet me for an important discussion. Of course, he had to call me several times due to my crazy hectic schedule before we later met.

I asked him to meet me at my house very early in the morning, he came right after the daybreak, then I knew it's a very serious discussion.

When we met, he said, "Mallam, permit me to start following you to your farm to learn farming and agribusiness from you, sir."

Instantly, I told him, "No, you can't follow me to my farm neither would you be allowed to learn agribusiness from me because these ventures are capital intensive and as a young school leaver you won't be able to afford the required capital.

Then, he said, "I am tired of staying in my mother's shop every day without doing anything for myself".

It's then I realized this young school leaver was keen on getting something done himself to make money.

Then, I asked him to tell me about skills he'd acquired after his SSCE. He said, "I have learned the basics of graphic designs and E-commerce."

Quickly, I came up with 2 options to keep him engaged. I said "Lágbájá, go and cement your skills on either of the two ventures mentioned above.

Here's the contact of the top-notch graphic design champion I know, go and meet him for mentorship.

Alternatively, if you choose to go for e-commerce, go and understudy your mother's business (clothes merchandise) or her friends' businesses and find means of using your knowledge of e-commerce to create values for yourself.

I advised him to focus on what women or children need or any evergreen niche you're exposed to in your e-commerce learning period..

I will be waiting for your feedback in the few months, let me know if you later need my help, bye, we exchanged pleasantries, I remembered I paid him back his transport fare that very day.

Just 2 months after our discussion, the young man called to inform me of his progress. He told me he'd discovered a particular clothing item, that customers are looking for.

That piece of item was in vogue and he knew where he could buy it cheaply from China and sell it here in Ibadan at Lagos wholesale price while he would be making close to 100% profit on each article.

He said "Mallam I have tried it with my last ₦5k and made ₦5k as a profit. I have borrowed money (₦100k - ₦200k) from my mother for the next order. I will keep you updated, sir"

He kept telling me how he's progressing and ploughing back his profit to build up his capital, expanding his customer base, and making handsome returns.

The last time (around October/November) I asked him what he had made so far, he told me ₦2m. I think Olaniyan Olawale Abdulahi was there when he came for last advice last year and I remember Junaid Saheed Olawale was there while I was advising him last week.

I am very much glad one of my mentors is doing well, I am glad the young school leaver is already making millions before gaining admission into higher institutions.

Let me share this with you, this 2022, I have the intention of mentoring just 10 lucky ones. 5 slots are gone already and the deadline remains just 48 hours.

Don't miss this rare opportunity to turn things around for yourself, pay ₦49,999 into The Merciful Merchants, 0021158404 STANBIC IBTC on or before January 15th 2022 to participate in 3-month exclusive mentorship where you will gain the unique knowledge and insights I've personally experienced, learned, and acquired from over the last 15+ years to help you grow your business and achieve massive impressive results.

Don't wait till I share the success stories of my new mentees with you. Let's celebrate you too.

Business / The Two Ways To Make Money by akinsmail51: 9:55am On Jan 09, 2022
There are basically two ways to make money.

1. You work for money. Someone pays you to work for them or you have your own business.

2. Your money works for you. You take your money and you save or invest it.

Your money can work for you in two ways.
Your money earns money. When your money goes to work, it may earn a steady paycheck.

Someone pays you to use your money for a period of time. When you get your money back, you get it back plus “a share of profits”. My company, Tenera Farms Ltd, has fantastic ideas for strategic partnerships joint venture this 2022.

Or, if you buy stock in a company that pays “dividends” to shareholders, the company may pay you a portion of its earnings on a regular basis. Your money can make an “income,” just like you.

You can make more money when you and your money work. You buy something with your money that could increase in value.

You become an owner of something that you hope increases in value over time.

When you need your money back, you sell it, hoping someone else will pay you more for it.

For instance, you buy a piece of land thinking it will increase in value as more businesses or people move into your town. Think of buying some parcels of farmland from Tenera Farms Ltd. Establish cash crop plantation and start making consistent annual income while the value of land increases over time.

You expect to sell the land in five, ten, or twenty years when someone will buy it from you for a lot more money than you paid.

And sometimes, your money can do both at the same time— earn a steady paycheck and increase in value.

Agriculture / Four Ways You Can Make Cool Money From Yam Cultivation. by akinsmail51: 1:52pm On Jan 05, 2022
“Yam is a magical plant which can fetch you lot of money from where you least expected”.

This statement was uttered to us by a yam farmer with over a decade experience in yam cultivation.

Few months ago, I was in a chit-chat with a brother who manages our enterprise farm activities in Osun state, as usual, we always use our spare time to deliberate on various opportunities available in agricultural sector.

During one of these forward thinking discussions, I got to know that my companion, our farm manager has great expertise in yam cultivation as he boldly told me he’s never use money to buy yam for the past four years, and he eats yam & pounded yam throughout the year.

Surprisingly, he does not take this as a means of making money, rather as a hobby and possibly to reduce his feeding costs.

Quickly, my inquisitive mind activated my business thinking mood and I scanned through BMC for yam cultivation and had deep thoughts on Revenue Streams for yam farming.

Agriculture / Is Bean Farming That Profitable? by akinsmail51: 6:10am On Jan 04, 2022
I sponsored my university education with proceeds from bean farming. Bean Farming is a very lucrative farming business you can rely on. I did the roofing of my house from the proceeds of the garden egg farming.

The first statement was uttered by the CEO of Excellent Farms, whom we met at an agro store recently, while he’s asking the dealer for Ewa Ifẹ̀ seeds and a particular agrochemical I couldn’t recollect now.

I asked him why he’s particular about the Ife bean seeds because I started bean farming this year and I planted Oloyin Bean seeds got from IITA.

He replied, “I have been doing this bean farming right while I was in Iseyin and it’s from it I sponsored my university education, I later forsook bean farming for poultry, I am returning to bean farming these days and I only want to start with Ewa Ife!”

Islam for Muslims / Is There A Set Rate Of Profit In Business, Or Is Profit Unlimited? by akinsmail51: 12:18pm On Dec 17, 2021
Is there a set rate of profit in business, or is profit unlimited? We would like an answer to this question with evidence. Please do not forget the many taxes that a businessman pays every year.

Answer
Praise be to Allah.

It is permissible for the one who buys a product for trading or to keep, to sell it for more than he bought it for, for cash or on credit. We do not know of any limit on profit, but one should be easygoing, because there are reports which encourage that. But if the product is known locally to be of a certain price, a Muslim should not sell it for more to one who is unaware of that, without telling him of this fact, because selling it for more is a kind of deceit. The Muslim is the brother of his fellow-Muslim and he should not wrong him, abandon him, cheat him or betray him, rather he should advise him sincerely wherever he is. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Religion is sincerity.” Narrated by Muslim in his Saheeh. And in al-Saheehayn it is narrated that Jareer ibn ‘Abd-Allah al-Yamaani said: “I swore allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), pledging to establish prayer, pay zakaah and be sincere towards every Muslim.” End quote.

Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah li’l-Buhooth il-‘Ilmiyyah wa’l-Ifta’ (13/89).

It also says in Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah:

Profits in business are not limited, rather they depend on supply and demand, plenty and scarcity. But it is good for the Muslim, whether he is a trader or otherwise, to be easygoing in buying and selling, and not to take advantage of his companion’s negligence in order to deceive him when buying or selling. Rather he should pay attention to the rights of Islamic brotherhood. End quote.

Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah li’l-Buhooth al-‘Ilmiyyah wa’l-Ifta’ (13/91).

Business / Sincere Letter to Struggling Entrepreneur! by akinsmail51: 10:33pm On Dec 08, 2021
Business is more of guesswork, forecasting, and assumptions. Of course, the optimistic trait in us makes it appears that we'll always hit the ground running or hit a home run as soon as we start the business.

This is exactly the opposite of reality most of the time. The reality is that in every business endeavor, you either earn (go home smiling with profits) or learn (bitter lessons from business hard knocks).

Let me share some of my experiences with us here tonight:

Ismaeel, before we embark on this business, make sure you get what your family will live on for good 6 months in reserve!

That was the advice echoed to me by one of my mentors a few years ago. I asked why! He replied ordinarily this deal should be within 3 months but we can't predict what happens along the lines.

Guess what, we spent good 9 months on that single transaction. That means my mentor knew that business success isn't always an easy pie as it appears. Business can make or mar one's financial status, alongside mental sanity.

That same year, I had a terrible challenge in my snail farming, the weather was too harsh that mere wetting couldn't curtain a high rate of snail mortality during the dry season that year. I lost more than a million naira worth of snails within a month.

Then, we came up with another business pursuit tagged dry season farming with a special focus on tomato/cucumber farming. This one still ties down millions of Naira as I type, we hope to reach profitability one of these days.

Here's the point I am trying to make if you think you can start a business today and make huge success overnight. You're a joker or a gambler.

Making money takes time and there are loads of unpleasant surprises and unpredictable circumstances waiting to verify your entrepreneurial ability.

Intuitively, human beings do all they can to avoid losses, because losses lead to trauma and emotional stress.

Loss is inevitable in any business endeavor, business is never without risk, every business confronts several risks that may threaten not only the profitability of your venture but also its survival.

Sincerely, there are no guarantees, you will hit a home run in your business pursuits, most especially, during your early days in business, but it makes sense to try. When a loss occurs, make sure you learn from it.

Arm yourself with the following to survive your early days in business:

Note that in the business world, failure has become an expected rite of passage and it takes time to achieve business success. You need perseverance and tenacity to cope with business shocks.

When you fail, don't run rather than rush down to your drawing board, examine what went wrong critically and objectively.

If the cause was as out of your control (natural disasters or pandemics), there is little that can be done. If you identify errors and misdoings, take full responsibility and pick up the lessons from them.

If you can't figure out what went wrong, either due to your fault or something exogenous, a short break from such a business may be the next significant step.

Don't start that business without a mentor, your mentors could be successful business owners or self-help business books.

There are tons of business wisdom in black and white, marry yourself to good business books such as The Richest Man in Babylon, The Millionaire Secrets, The Richest Salesman in The World, One Minute Manager, Brian Tracy & Zig Ziglar have tons of books, clips, and audios on business.

One of the benefits of having a business mentor is having someone you can ask questions, seek guidance, and get advice.

Your mentors can help you examine problems and situations from perspectives that you would not have thought of on your own and offer you effective solutions

Another effective means of managing business loss is to have a backup or a plan B. If you offer only products for sale, you may consider offering services as your plan B.

Also, you may have valuable assets in reserve or land banking as a backup that you can depend on when a business loss occurs. This could be a veritable means of raising another fund to keep running your business.

Seek Help From Partners, Suppliers & Distributors. Here, having a cordial mutual business relationship with suppliers and distributors matters most, your distributors and suppliers want your business to thrive, and they are quite aware that by offering you financial support, you may eventually become a long-term repeat customer.

During the loss moments, you may opt for supplier financing from them to keep your business going, you just need to maintain your creditworthiness and assure them they will get your continued business, come rain, come shine.

The bottom line is that loss is unavoidable in business and it becomes commendable when it provides opportunities to learn, develop, and compels us to improve and effectively overcome the challenge of change.

Islam for Muslims / Some Of The Sahaabah (may Allah Be Pleased With Them) Who Memorised The Qur'an by akinsmail51: 5:36am On Dec 08, 2021
The Companions of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) were the most eager of people to do good and the swiftest in doing righteous deeds, and the most able to do such deeds.

One of the greatest of their concerns was memorising the Book of Allah, may He be exalted, learning it and acting upon it, then teaching it to people. They used to learn it from the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and they would teach it to one another.

A great number of the Sahaabah memorised the Book of Allah, may He be exalted, and they were so great in number that they could not all be listed. A number of the scholars mentioned the most prominent of those among them who memorised the Book of Allah.

Among the most prominent of these Sahaabah (may Allah be pleased with them) are the following:

1. Abu Bakr as-Siddeeq (may Allah be pleased with him)

He died on a Monday in Jumaada al-Oola 13 AH at the age of sixty-three. ‘Umar led the funeral prayer for him, and he was buried with the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).

Tahdheeb at-Tahdheeb (5/316)

2. ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab

He was killed on a Wednesday 26 Dhu’l-Hijjah 23 AH, at the age of sixty-three; there are other views concerning his age.

Tahdheeb at-Tahdheeb (7/441)

3. ‘Uthmaan ibn ‘Affaan (may Allah be pleased with him)

He was one of those who memorised the Qur’an at the time of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He died a martyr, unlawfully killed in his house, on 18 Dhu’l-Hijjah 35 AH, at the age of eighty-two, according to the correct view.

4. ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib (may Allah be pleased with him)

He was killed in Kufah on the morning of 17 Ramadan 40 AH. He memorised the Qur’an after the death of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and it was said that he memorised it during his lifetime.

5. Ubayy ibn Ka‘b (may Allah be pleased with him)

He was the most prominent of the Qur’an-reciters, the one who had best memorised the Book of Allah. He memorised it at the time of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) he died in Madinah in 20 AH or 19 AH.

6. ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ood ibn Ghaafil (may Allah be pleased with him)

He memorised the Qur’an at the time of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He died in Madinah at the end of 32 AH.

7. Zayd ibn Thaabit ibn ad-Dahhaak (may Allah be pleased with him)

He memorised the Qur’an at the time of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He died in 45 AH, according to the more correct view.

8. Abu Moosa al-Ash‘ari, ‘Abdullah ibn Qays (may Allah be pleased with him)

He learned the Qur’an from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He died in Dhu’l-Hijjah 44 AH according to the correct view.

9. Abu’d-Darda’ ‘Uwaymir ibn Zayd al-Ansaari (may Allah be pleased with him)

He learned the Qur’an at the time of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He died in 33 AH.

10. Abu Hurayrah ad-Dawsi (may Allah be pleased with him)

He learned the Qur’an from Ubayy ibn Ka‘b. He died in 57 or 58 or 59 AH.

11. ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbaas ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him)

Business / Cultivate The Habit Of Doing More To Earn More. by akinsmail51: 10:10pm On Dec 02, 2021
Cultivate the habit of doing more to earn more. Inflation is killing and there's no positive sign things would change soonest.

I have been thinking on the impacts of imminent hike in petrol price for the past few days, I can't imagine the level of attending economic effects it will bring.

As the living costs in the country we live in grows sporadically, this exposes us to more stress, more pressure, more uncertainty, more risk and tighter condition of living.

You can either take action to protect yourself against it, or leave yourself open to damage.

Choose. Find means of doing more to earn more or keep doing what you're doing.

If you're an employee, think how to do more, think through how to convert your spare time to money. Can you add selling products to what you do!

If you sell products, think how to do more by providing services. If you sell rugs, can you add washing rugs to your product offerings!

If you're a teacher, think how to do more via freelancing, provide translation or transcribing services.

Eliminate SAPA by building multiple income streams. Create redundancies you can fall back on.

Have plans. One for when things go well. One for when they don’t. One for when they go really bad. And one for when the world starts to collapse around you.

Don’t be a sucker and wait for the storm to hit before you build a shelter.

Solve your money problem yourself, think ahead.

Please do read this – A wonderful story indeed

One of our pious predecessors, Thabit Bin Nu’man, was hungry and tired as he was passing through a garden that bordered a river. He was so hungry that he could hear his stomach growling, and so his eyes became fixed on the fruits he saw on the various trees of the garden.

In a fit of desperation, he forgot himself and extended his hand to an apple that was within reach. He ate half of it and then drank water from the river. But then he became overcome with guilt, despite the fact that he had only eaten because of dire need.

He said to himself, “Woe unto me! How can I eat someone else’s fruits without his permission? I make it binding upon myself not to leave this place until I find the owner of this garden and ask him to forgive me for having eaten one of his apples.”

After a brief search, he found the owner’s house. He knocked on the door and the owner of the garden came out and asked him what he wanted.

Thabit Bin Nu’man said, “I entered your garden that borders the river, and I took this apple and ate half of it. Then I remembered it does not belong to me, and so I ask you now to excuse me for having eaten it and to forgive me for my mistake.”

The man said, “On one condition only I will forgive you for your mistake.”

Thabit Bin Nu’man asked, “And what is that condition?” He said, “That you marry my daughter.” Thabit Bin Nu’man said, “I will marry her.”

The man said, “But heed you this; indeed my daughter is blind, she does not see; mute, she does not speak;deaf, she does not hear.”

Thabit Bin Nu’man began to ponder over his situation; a difficult predicament indeed did he find himself in now; what should he do?

Not get out of it, thought Thabit, for he realised that to be tested by such a woman, to take care of her, and to serve her, are all better than to eat from the foul matter of the Hellfire as a reward for the apple that he ate. And after all, the days of this world are limited.

And so he accepted the condition to mary the girl, seeking his reward from Allaah, Lord of all that exists. He was nonetheless somewhat anxious in the days prior to the marriage.

He thought, “How can I have sexual relations with a woman who neither speaks nor sees nor hears?”

So miserable did he become that he almost wished for the earth to swallow him up before the appointed date.

Yet despite such apprehensions, he placed his complete trust upon Allaah and he said, “There is neither might nor power except with Allaah. Indeed to Allaah do we belong and indeed to Him shall we al return.”

On the day of the marriage he saw her for the first time. She stood up before him and said, “Peace, mercy and blessings of Allaah be upon you.”

When he saw her grace and beauty, he was reminded of what he would see when he would imagine the fair maidens of paradise (i.e., the gorgeous hoor al-ayn). After a brief pause he said, “What is this? She indeed speaks, hears and sees.” He then told her what her father said earlier.

She said, “My father has spoken the truth. He said I was mute because I do not speak any forbidden word, and I have never spoken to any man who is not lawful to me (i.e., she has never spoken to any ghair mahrams)! And I am indeed deaf in the sense that I have never sat in a gathering in which there is backbiting, slander, or false and vain speech! And I am indeed blind, in the sense that I have never looked upon a man who is not permissible for me!”

The fruit of this marriage was the birth of a child who grew up to be one of the most prominent Imams of all times, the founder of the Hanafi School of Discipline in Islam- Imam Abu Hanifa (Rahmatullah Allaih).

Agriculture / The Story Of My Mentees Who Made Millions From Snail Business W/O Own Snail Farm by akinsmail51: 10:14am On Sep 05, 2021
Around May 2019, 3 people approached me for training on snail farming.

Being a folk from my neighborhood, one an old friend, the other two graduated from my alma mater, I subsidized the training for them to the cheapest fee I have ever charged.

Although a teacher friend who introduced them to me suggested I did it free of charge, I refused and told him point-blank that I value my time and I understand that people hardly appreciate the free offer.

I think I asked them to pay ₦2,500 each for 3 - 5 days of intensive physical practical training on snail farming, then I guarantee them they will make quadruplets of whatever they invested in the training within the first week of implementing my strategies.

Without much ado, the training commenced. I shared with them a table of contents contains 10 Modules, the workshop was fully practical from beginning to the end.

We agreed on the time of meeting for discussion, their attitude to the lessons on the first day was very fantastic, fantabulous and eventually won my heart to reveal the working strategies with them.

They were introduced to the A - Z basics and business of snail farming. They could see the pen, how it's constructed, they could see snails in their natural habitat, how they are fed, various species of snails, how I package snails for my clients, how mulching is done.

It's the great practical training session I have ever had, we had to go out together searching for plantain leaves to mulch my snails, we worked together on a plot-size farm where I planted vegetables and fruits for my snails.

During our training session, one of them was talking to himself. He's querying himself why he hadn't known this business since, why this? Why that? He didn't know when he mentioned he would resign his then salaried job and he did!

On the 3rd day, we're at the snail marketing module then. As a marketing professional, this area seems to be the simplest task for me while I know others find it so difficult.

Thus, I am always very strict in discussing this section of the training as the success of the whole training lies here!

The module is divided into two, first parts discussing the theoretical aspects such as :

✅Defining the target audience
✅Strategies to acquire customers
✅Designing marketing tools such as business cards, brochures, flyers, proposals, sales copies & letters, etc.
✅Pricing & procurement strategies
✅Promotional strategies
✅Social media marketing, to mention a few among other things discussed.

I have summarized this in my ebook titled EXPOSED: SECRETS OF SUCCESSFUL SNAIL BUSINESS. How You Can Make Millions From Snail Business Without Owning a Snail Farm.

Go get yours, if you have not got it yet.

The second part is the practical session, we all have to go out and scout for customers.

I told them the current market prices and reduced ₦100 on each snail for them as their profit margin to encourage them before they start procurement themselves.

Sure, I told them which territory to cover and warn them not to waste time approaching my existing customers.

We all went out with our snail samples handy, that very day, one of the duos met and won a customer who buys 100 snails on a weekly or monthly basis. The rich man eats only snail meat.

Surprisingly, my trainee did the supply that very day, I love his hardworking spirit and I made a vow to support him always, up till now, I still render him support though he owns his own company now.

The second trainee was fortunate to have a notable kitchen as his first customer and one white man doctor. This kitchen serves only dignitaries and governors. 70 - 100 jumbo snails order on weekly basis.

That's the beginning of their success stories in the snail business.

With consistent and persistent efforts, within the first six months of doing snail business, both got their companies registered[ Nettle Farms & Adekam Farms ], carried out deals in millions, and eventually bought their cars before the 12 months of doing the business.

Their accomplishments also impacted me positively as I also strived to increase my customer base, that same year I won a deal to supply snails that worth ₦3m in a single transaction.

Are they still doing the snail business? Yes. Recently, one of them signed a deal worth millions of Naira.

They are growing in leaps and doing fine. We're now business partners, as I navigate to agribusiness, we grow together there.

Bottom line: efforts pay, persistence is the key, action will always beat inaction.

PS: I don't have much time on training as I spent with them again due to other commitments. In fact, in the last online group training I did I charged each participant ₦20,000.

PSS: I have summarized the strategies in my new ebook, you can go and get yours now. Once the buyers reach 50, I will organize a headstart discussion for the first 50.

It remains just a few slots, less than 15 copies now.
