PoliticsRe: Imo Legislative Match: Okorocha Is Goalkeeper by akpama87(m): 1:16pm On Jun 14, 2016
Joke is one panacea to worry. It is good to have fun sometimes. 1-1 draw was a good play.

They say that there is no food for a lazy man. Once one engages himself or herself in any genuine business, God will surely bless him or her. Just remain undeterred and focused in it. It's a nice one!

PoliticsRe: Buhari Not In London For Treatment- Femi Adesina by akpama87(m): 10:16am On Jun 08, 2016
I think it's high time every leader of this country became schooled in integrity and truthfulness. One says one thing now and another repudiates it the next second. Again, one says something now and retracts it. This situation makes people doubt the authority of the source.

The bit of news that Buhari traveled abroad for medical reasons is no longer tittle-tattle.

As well as invention, discovery is an achievement. Everyone should learn to appreciate people's efforts.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians Reacts To President Buhari's Twit About The Murdered Woman In Kano by akpama87(m): 10:25pm On Jun 05, 2016
Except the story has other contrasting versions, as this is common with Nigerian stories, telling someone who is performing ablution to move away from the front of one's stall is not blasphemy of any sort. Even if it were blasphemy, was decapitation the only atonement?

This is my response, if anyone asks me. We could allow our masters (those we worship) to avenge themselves on the people that taint their holy names, because they are more powerful than we. I do not think a real Christian believer would resort to beheading a Muslim, even though he or she blasphemes Jesus. The Christian would rather pray for the Muslim. I know that religious beliefs differ, but Islamism does not say that its believers should behead anyone who commits the sin of blasphemy.

No type of vitriol on Buhari, perhaps as a reaction to his statement, can resurrect the woman; however, his statement may be construed as an attempt to justify that inhumane act.

It is true that genocide has become a white collar job for those cold-blooded northern killers who readily avail themselves to the slightest chance. Imagine, that savage mob paraded around, holding the slit head, to the full glare of the public. Such guts, given by whom?

Anyway, RIP

Genocide has become a white collar job in this world, ehnn? May God have mercy on us.

Foreign AffairsRe: Couple Had Sex In Bush After Church, Caught And Beaten Up By Angry Youths by akpama87(m): 8:51pm On Jun 05, 2016
Everyone knows that the couple have the leeway for such rumpy-pumpy, but there should be some decency. Do not forget, it is this decency that differentiates humans from other animals. In my considered opinion, the couple did not do the decent thing.

Please, let us be arbiters of morality.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Bleeds As Pipeline Bombings, Vandalism Wreaks Economy by akpama87(m): 10:19am On Jun 04, 2016
Even though I have aversion to violence, criminality, sabotage, censure (or anything fraught with negative consequences), I develop disapproval of some remarks and reactions to the NDA activities by some people in authority.

I am sometimes tempted to ask if their positions make them forget things easily. Let us remember that oil spills in Ogoniland did not start today. Since 1970, Ogoni had begun to bear the brunt of oil spillage. Guess the amount of damages the land has suffered from that time till now. Unfortunately, such a land which feeds the economy of Nigeria receives the worst form of neglect.

As the Acting Director-General (MASECA), Mr Jacob Ovweghre, has opined, it is good to seek intellectual redress for this abysmal neglect within the ambit of the law, but I could draw his attention to this exposé.

In the early 1990s, Ogoni people demonstrated a non-violent opposition to the oil companies over the
contamination of their land and lack of financial benefit from the oil revenues. Then, in 1995, Ogoni author and campaigner, Ken Saro-Wiwa, and eight other tribal leaders were charged with incitement to murder and executed by Nigeria's military government.

It is glaring that the Nigerian government wants to keep Ogoni people in perpetual misery, destitution, underdevelopment, while it continues to sap their land of its fecundity.

The people once sought intellectual redress for their problems, but the government thwarted their efforts by killing their leaders. After several years of endurance, and seeing that the government is still insouciant, the people now resort to violence, and government says NO.

What else does the government want from the people it has plunged into such mess (or rather mesh)?
PoliticsRe: Goodluck Jonathan And Buhari In Secret Meeting In Aso Rock by akpama87(m): 9:45pm On Jun 03, 2016
GEJ is an exemplary leader who does not give anyone the cold shoulder. He always establishes cordial relationships. Keep it up!
