odilibe: from your location ..it is better you use 3meter dish or above for nilesat 102 and 201@ 7west!...MBC channels are currently on nilesat 102 @ 7west.. but MBC Will move cos there will be permanent blackouts on nilesat 102 before September 2015!keep your fingers crossed... hehehe!
yeah, you re correct.

loj1: Pls ma gurus i nid an absolute n sincere ansa,as a newbie i trackd astra2f wit ma 1.2m dish n srt4922 decoder @ 79-80% sig strengt nd got only d multi tv channels, now LYNGSAT states dat Eutelsat 28A & Astra 2A/2E/2F and BADR 4(mbc channels) are in d same position.......1)how do i need to get all d satlite channels @ dsame tym?...blindscan or go 4 a bigger 1.8m dish nd universal lnb as pictured in page 328......2)wat major frequency do u advice as feed to track all d inter-related channels.....3)wat lnb nd disecq do u advice?...im confusd again,bt if u giv me d simple apprioprate ansa i'll cope,im a fast learner pls HELP ME i depend on u pple...GOD bless u
let me give you an insight......first of all, not all satellite on the same degree you can get depend on the one that has a footprint that cover your geographical location. Only astra 2f on 28% have a footprint that cover nig the rest are european footprint which is too far however u can track footprint that does not cover your locatn but a little closer (fringe reception) and that is where bigger and stronger LNB come to play. but u can equally get mahgreb footprint(badr5) because 28 and 26 is close and moreso, mahgred covers nigeria while other footprint on the same badr5 does not but can be track with big dish. Not to confuse u..."There are different footprint on a particular satellite angle for instance on 26% there are footprint like Badr-4 Ku Band BSS, Badr-4 Ku Band MBC, Badr-5 Ku-Band Pan-Arab BSS-FSS, Badr-6 C Band, Badr-4 Ku Band FSS, Badr-5 Ku-Band Central-Asia Beam BSS-FSS, Badr-5 Ku-Band Maghreb (Steerable) BSS, Badr-6 Ku Band BSS. Also the size of dish to get fringe satellite depend on your geo-location so u need to state your location, what u have in mind to track, tools you already have to help you kick start from there. I hope dis leaves you better than yesterday. Cheer

hotobo: you can't practically get irib on 60cm anywhere in naija be it ku or cband .you only hit green on 12303 which is useless. case is never close
i said the posted footprint badr5 mahgreb beam can be track with 60cm dish not "irib can be track with 60cm dish" maybe u should try get your eye glasses closer, and i can read AYOLACZ who brought the info clarifying it again. try nd read carefully before you talk please.. Case close

roman001: pls,gv the tp for feed channel on badr28e.tnx
bros, the person who communicate there is irib feed on that foot print is in the best position to give you the accurate tp of the feed. I only explain how u can track the above footprint which is badr5 (bahgred beam)

@timijo, NO the only mbc available is on nilesat 7w and u need minimum of 1.8 depending on your location while minimum of 3-4m in some places.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by akplatnum2005(m): 8:32am On Sep 06, 2014
Timijo: Pls house which tp can I use to get badr5@26E on multi tv? Or do I need to use another dish? Pls I need more direction.
from mutitv positn bring ur dish down a bit or if u have multi-setup raise ur lnb up a bit and input dis tp 12303H u will get d footprint posted above.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by akplatnum2005(m): 11:21pm On Sep 05, 2014
hotobo: your info is useless if you haven't track it with minimal dish of 1.8m because we all its possible to track it with 3m and above
oga take it slowly, the aforemention footprint is trackable with 60cm dish. Case close

Here is my kind advice for all newbies. Don't only come to the forum to ask questions but be a contributor. Put forward an xtral effort to make research on your own so that u can know basic things about tracking a satellite, encryption system, picture encoding, band, tp, footprint, branded and unbranded decoder, make use of google put your brain to work and i bet you in 1day you will better off laggard graphicicon. Its a pity the poorboy can't hide to us his hungry.

Talenty: We are talking about Aljazeera/Irib on Arabsat 5c 20e and MBC movies on Eutelsat 21B ku. Both satellites are tracked together using a single C/Ku band lnb
hello house! Correct me if am wrong, the MBC on 21B is been broadcast through a multistream transponder which require a stream enable decoder to nail it though the footprint is closer but you need the right tools to do the job. Cheer

Oluwalogbon:

Thanks alot .pls more explanation how do I do it ?but its not issue of lnb because its big dish that use two lnb,one for c band the other one for Ku band and dish is used jark(motor). now how do I tap (share) that dish with my receiver?
you will need to change the lnb of the said satellite you want to tap to a multi out put lnb at list a 2way lnb so that you can tap from the source. Shekena

ebena107:

Thanks @akplatnum2005, thats my first time with branded/customises decoder. anyway, can strong be used on ses-5, or which sat is closer so that i can maximise the use of the dish. thanks
strong and every other decoder can be use to track virtually all FTA sat except a sat that require stream enabled decoder otherwise u are good to go with strong so long it is HD. Regards

Yonderguy: Yea, I once had a LNB that's associated with a particular polarity ( V ). I guessed the LNB was bad, so I changed it with a new one and use the supposed bad one for multi tv. Please what is the cause and probable solution to this kind of problem?
this means that the components that make up the LNB is short and can no longer switch between the 2polarity again and this come as a result of usage over time. Its a normal phenomenon that happens to all electronic component or gadget. Shikenah.

ebena107: Gurus in the house, I bought a starsat dish & decoder out of curiosity and its set to SES-5 to which it got all startime stations but no freebie(FTA) is available on it. I tried some SES-5 TP i got from lyngsat to no avail.

Please, How can I use Starsat dish(100cm) and their decoder to get FTA station on SES-5 or any satellite nearby?

Thanks
all customised decoder re close source meaning decoders like startime, DSTV, Daarsat, RRsat, can not be use for free to air because it is lock only to receive their signal. U need decoder like strong, qsat, openview etc. Regards!

@old and newbies, i want to start by saying that there is what the socialist called accepted standard of behaviour in every society and also in the technological world there is accepted conduct that govern communication over the internet in order word (ettiquette) nobody is forming i too know but we shouldnt encourage lawlessness in this forum, obviously some persons re lazy to read previous page and instead of some of us to help them by advising them to do so rather we are encouraging them to continue spamming this thread. And i must let us know scientifically that bigger brain does not determine been intelligent. i think some of us need to go back and read the terms and conditions of this honourable thread before we continue going wrong. I took my time to read previous pages before i think of asking a question in this honourable house and that amount to me getting answers to virtually every question i posted and i never get bored when reading previous page because it wasn't spammed however, internet is a tool meant for us to explore and seek information in the right manner so therefore, let's do little research on our own (google) before appearing lazy and deviating before this honourable house. I was once a newbies, and am still a newbies also will continue asking questions because knowledge they say is continuum...... I mean no offence!

odilibe: ..is that not same MBC frequency on 11938V27500 on nilesat 7west causing interference with frequency11958v...this is the reason why broadcast satellite providers space downlink frequencies out in a transmitting satellite in orbit to avoid interference.. if frequencies are close to each other or same they use different polarization to avoid signals interfering with each other....if there is a signal transmitting on 11958V27500 and your dish can lock both frequencies, you would have got issues receiving both signals at same time with your receiver!

cheers
u are very correct but right now am receiving the 2 signal but the signal 11958V is epileptic in the sense that it goes red if i tune in at first and it will go green after few seconds however i have mbc again in another frequency but no picture nor audio and the tp is dead red for now(11.747H)27500. i don't know why dis happening but i pray it won't lead to the removal of MBC in middle east beam.
