Shody7: My concern is if medical test done in Nigeria will be accepted for interview. You must do your medical examination in the same country where you will do your immigrant Visa interview. |

Helpout12345: To transfer your case to another country for interview, you must have legal residency or citizenship in that country. Also the US embassy in that country usually have specific additional requirements to accept transfers.
But beware that transfer of cases usually takes time too. It can take 3months to 1 year depending on the country you are transferring to. Transfer doesn't take time. It takes about a week and you may get IL after one month depending on the situation in the country you are transferring to. |

Abbyfx: @Aku660. Congratulations bro. Can you please tell us the country you transferred to. The waiting is really frustrating. I am a permanent resident of South Africa. Thank you. The waiting is frustrating. I cried for joy after I received my IL because I was wondering if it will ever come. My PD was current throughout the 2024 fiscal year, yet no IL. |

Amen! Many thanks. uduafemhe24: Dear All,
Happy Independence Day to our fellow Nigerians! Today marks a new beginning, not just for our nation but also for us on this immigration journey. As the new fiscal year has begun at the NVC, there are new opportunities ahead. With at least 140,000 new visa numbers available, we are hopeful that the long wait times at the US Consulate in Lagos will soon ease, and many of us will see movement in our cases.
Let’s hold on to faith and encourage one another. God’s timing is perfect, and He will open doors for all of us in due season. May this new chapter bring speedy interviews, approvals, and breakthroughs for everyone.
We pray for God's favor, guidance, and protection throughout this process. Stay strong, keep believing, and know that better days are ahead.
Wishing you all a happy Independence Day and a successful journey!
Warm regards, Maxwell E. Uduafemhe, PhD |

But at least you are close. You should get IL before the end of the year or next schedule. |

Note that the total number based on the information you shared comprises of Nigerians in diaspora. To have a better picture of what is happening at a particular embassy, look for immigrant Visa issuance by post. Babanaaboy1: For those of us wondering if the USA embassy ever releases interview dates ...this is the amount of approval given this year June .

Yes, it doesn't work for applicants whose country quota has been exhausted. olig: Interesting! Doe that mean the NVC timeline is kind of "selective"? That is, it doesn't apply to all categories of applicants in some instances like this?
Because, the current timeline shows they are creating files for Petitions received from USCIS on 11.07.2024.
It seems this timeline does not work for applicants whose country quota has been exhausted. Am I correct?
A friend of mine also belong to this category. He was approved on 3rd June 2024 or so. I was thinking he should have received his welcome letter (from NVC) by now.

Yes, the message shows that you are documentarily qualified. Juddy2018: Hi everyone, please I received this mail below from NVC, I want to know if am documentarily qualified?
27-JUN-24
The National Visa Center (NVC) received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to scheduling your immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy overseas. NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner, and attorney (if applicable). Please do NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until you have received an immigrant visa from the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General. The U.S. Embassy/Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview. Please visit https://nvc.state.gov/prep for information about immigrant visa interviews. Additionally, the petitioner, as the sponsor, and all other sponsors (household members and joint sponsors), may be required to provide updated or additional evidence to you to present at the time of your interview, such as: • Other income • Assets • Proof of current employment Sincerely,

It is processed based on first in first out. The person with the earliest DQ will be attended to first. atrapon: Thank you for this. What if PD is current and one has been DQ’ed, which one does NVC give higher priority in scheduling? For example, first applicant : PD 15 Feb 2022, DQ July 2023. Second applicant : PD August 2022, DQ April 2023. Who gets IL first?] |

This means that your case is not eligible for visa application because the yearly quota has been exceeded. NVC will contact you once you are eligible for Visa application. The new fiscal year usually starts at October. Hopefully NVC may request for your Visa fee and documents after October 2024. bankyman: Thanks for the response. Here is the content of their letter
The National Visa Center (NVC) received the immigrant visa petition filed by B*******, B***** I******* on behalf of B******, B***** I******* from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. However, your case is not currently eligible for further processing because there is an annual limit on the number of immigrant visas that the Department of State can issue. For some visa categories, the wait could be many years. This petition will be eligible for further processing when your priority date is earlier than the cut-off date for your visa category. To learn what the cut-off date is for this petition, review the Visa Bulletin online at
You will need the following information to determine your cut-off date: Country of Chargeability..NIGERIA Visa Category...................E2 - PROFESSIONALS FOLLOWING ADVANCED DEGREES Priority Date.....................21MAR2024

This is not clear. You mentioned that your application is approved and you got a letter acknowledging receipt of your application. What did your approval letter say? bankyman: Hello Everyone,
I applied for EB2 in March this year and my application has been approved. My priority date is 21 March. I have gotten a letter acknowledging receipt of my application. I am yet to submit any documentation as I do not have any other correspondence to do so. To all the alumni Is this normal? I am of the opinion that there would still be another letter in which I'd have a code to be eligible to proceed, is this right. I'll await responses.
Thanks again everyone and best of luck! |

I Apologise for chipping in, will ignore going forward. Shalom!! You don't have to ignore. There is nothing wrong with your suggestions. People reason and react differently. I have been wondering how some people get job before arriving the US. This is due to the fact that some employers prefer someone who is present in the US. Keep on encouraging others, because the waiting is not easy. Mostly when your PD has been current for more than 6 months yet no IL. May we have divine intervention. |

Approval of EB2 NIW usually takes some months, except you pay for express which is less than a month. Mine was approved within four months. Then you apply for immigrant Visa after the approval. This is where it takes longer time depending on the US Consulate that will conduct your interview. Benwems: Thank you for your response. I believe this takes some years to get approved by USA? |
