Honestly, I have serious level of concern for the hypocrisy of Nigerians. 1. People say doctors are glorified 1st aid givers, yet when they go on strike, they say people are dying. How can people who hitherto could not save lives cause death? 2. The JOHESU wants to be seen on the same pedestal as doctors, they have been given a wonderful oportunity; its time for the Consultant JOHESU to rise up to the occasion, please see the patients, make diagnosis, request relevant investigations and treat appropriately including drugs, surgical or other modalities. SHOW US DOCTORS ARE USELESS 3. For those saying the doctors should have explored other means, can they please illustrate such other means and the results they yield? 4. Doctors have become politicians, doctors don't care about lives etc. That is what our antagonists have been saying, while in truth, what has been happening is we have been so sunk so deep in our books and patient care and woke up to find that we are fast becoming irrelevant and just exploited by others who want to do less and have more. |
barcanista: another useless submissionWhy the beef, quit hating! |
brownlord: That is irrelevant, we are working in the same coy and have misunderstanding, our employer comes in to resolve and I go on strike just because I hold a vital position and without me business can't move, let's think man, doctors are not teachers that should be going on strike everyday, even teachers is not allowed and then doctor@brown lord, let me say it in lay man's language. If I hv a shop, where I sell goods, and the job starts gettin too much 4 me to do alone, I now invite mr A to help me with packaging and that same mr A now wants to push me off the shop, what do you suggest I do? |
YourHealthlabs: Don't compare Nigerian over-bloated, overrated Doctors with Physicians abroad. M.B.B.S is not an international standard for Physicians (Doctor of Medicine) is. Google itHehehe! Man you need to read more! |
Good Morning house, I think people should research JOHESU and what they have done and are doing which is the cause of the chaos in the health sector. When we are done with that, we now look at NMA and judge if they have done the right thing or not! |
don kross: **** Trust Nobody***That's the 1st commandment, keep up d good job! |
Front row! |

The Instructional video still remains the best! I was seriously hoping for a music video which would be in the ranks of Alingo! Duh, wat a waste to a lovely song, that won't stop SKELEWU! The mp3. |
ngozievergreen: What do they learn? Dont tell me its islamic tnz cos am i will be with Mark on this one.It is, but as of now, there are easier and better ways of learning, such as schools that combine both islamic and western education. |
ngozievergreen: Wat does dat almairi education even mean?Almajiri education, in other words 'Vagrant scholar' is a form of islamic education whereby the child 'student' leaves his parent to reside and learn in his Mallam's(teacher's) house/school. The Mallam is supposed to be responsible for feeding, shelter and clothing of the student. That is the ideal way it was supposed to be. |
As a muslim from the north and hated Hausa/Fulani extraction, I am totally behind Senator Mark on the need to end modern day slavery in the name of Almajiri system of education. It is outdated and has much more disadvantages to its few if any advantages. That said, I would want to see a comprehensive rehabilitation and reintegration plan for the almajiris, then back it up with strong lelation to adquately punish offenders(ie parents and owners of these schools) |
These are threads we need to put out. The North has suffered undue aggression due to the rise of negative media coverage. We need to re educate and enlighten our people on the other side of the Niger. Ever asked your people why they don't return to the south once they settle in the north? |
As if its not a northerner that gave them amnesty, smh for some people! |
Mekanze: Eggon and Mada own Nasarawa state but being hijacked by hausa fulanis from far kano, katsina bauchi etc... So any move by Eggon people to take back their state is welcomed. Are you from Nasarawa? I doubt. We have well over 50 ethnic groups with @ least 7 major groups, there is no dominant tribe in Nasarawa |
funshint: Shut d fk up fulanis' are well known to be landless. The only tin they know hw 2 do is to kill. This will serve dem a good warning. I think people in other middle-belt states(Plateau, Southern Kaduna, Benue, Taraba and Kwara) should take a cue from dis. Its time U̶̲̥̅̊ people tk 'ur destiny into 'ur hands. The police force is grossly inadequate to protect U̶̲̥̅̊; not even d military 'cos majority of them are 'ur enemies. No particular ethnic group has d monopoly of violence. Jonathan should be careful not 2 be hasty @ taken action as d Governor of that state has a big case to answer. Infact dis case will test d president's ability to handle tricky situation in d midst of bad advisers(d governor and Arewa Elders). Eediot!!I won't join words with an malinformed uncivilized jobless or is it school dropout like you that has no manners to address a public forum. Next time watch how you respond to issues, na by force to quote me? Abeg disappear joor! |
Leebeedo: The Egons are part of the real owner of Nasarawa state. The Gwandara people migrated from borno state and are really few.The egons are the ones that voted almakura into power with a pact that he will rule for just 1 tenure and solomon will take over. u know how power is.....the rest is history.Excuse me sir, tell me who didn't migrate from somewhere? Plus why is it that ppl always think that having a Muslim name=Hausa/fulani. And why don't we try to dig out facts before talking based on sentiments and hatred. |
KnowAll: The ingenious people should dislodge those hausa/ fulani controlling nassarawa state. Now that i know what is going, d ingenious people should wrestle power from those hausa / fulani pretenders ruling them or they remain slaves. I 100% support their cause. Some people can be so illiterate and would r wait to learn facts before they type rubbish. None of Nasarawa state govs has ever been Hausa/fulani Abdullahi Adamu, Aho tribe Akwe Doma, Alago tribe Almakura, Gwandara tribe The main issue in Nasarawa state is that of a greedy tribe (eggon) that is hell bent on gettin power in 2015, note the Eggon control only 2 local govts out of 13. Do the maths |
If I remember well, after the last elections, it was Raila Odinga that made inciting comments that sparked off some violence. However, since he is in the good books of the Western World, he wasn't indicted. Kenyans have spoken. Let's allow them. I don't care if GEJs son would be next president, all I care for is GOOD GOVERNANCE. |
I honestly do not understand why Goodluck had to hire Okupe. 90% of what he says does not make sense, the remaining 10% is plain lies. |
All who do not believe this do not know how far the so called free world would go to force their economic policies on people. Its all about the benjamins mehn. |
I wrote this on my facebook wall before the 2011 election, and I feel it is in order to repeat myself. "Whether you vote for Good or Bad candidates, we shall collectively rip the benefits. Nobody would ask who you voted before selling goods in the market to you" So for those willing to continue trying the same thing without success, goodluck to you all. |
Sincere 9gerian: What are these guys talking about? Basic education is already free nationwide. Except of course they'r talking about free higher education. And if that's the case, it would the most STUPIDDD thing I've ever heard in a long while.Free education? Are you kidding me? When pupils still pay hundreds of Naira per term? When parents have to meet at PTAs to contribute money for chalk? |
bigboss80s: Instead of foolish, stone-age, bone-headed policies like this, these idiots should find a way to make banks give student loans. Education is way too cheap in Nigeria and this is the reason our institutions cannot survive on their own without government handouts. Education is expensive and any system of free education is just not sustainable. While your write up makes a whole lot of sense, its not implementable in Nigeria, a few reasons include lack of appropriate data eg majority of youths have no means of identification, lack of ready employment to absorb graduates, hence no repayment of loans and no return on investment and finally poverty level of Nigerians, need I say more? Plus you heard them say they are socialists. So maybe we are making a U-turn from capitalism for the mean time. |
The most informative thread I've followed in my young stay on Nairaland. Kudos OP. One thing I keep on saying and won't stop is I have an open invitation to my brothers and sisters south of the Niger and/or Benue, to come visit the north and see for themselves. However if they can't, they should ask NYSC guys that are serving in the north how it truely is. Do not mind the media, its just mind twisting manipulations. Long live Arewa, long live other regions, Long live Nigeria |
