The "latest bust" in the Indian Kaveri jet engine program is hardly latest. Its not even recent. This happened 17 years ago, in 2008. The program hasn't been properly funded since then.

This news is just some journalist with a vested interest grasping at straws to push his agenda by putting 17 years old wine in new bottle.

IRL, the Indian jet engine program is currently undergoing a possible renaissance. Trump's general unpredictability and the recent shifts in global geopolitics have put indigenous supply chains and self reliance in focus. Government of India is, for the first time ever, considering encoding Technology sovereignty into the official Indian policy and national goal, similar to the Indian quest for Energy sovereignty

In that context, consider that USA is in a position to seriously affect four Indian fighter jet programs: LCA Tejas Mk1A. MWF Tejas Mk2. ADA AMCA and ADA TEDBF. All four of these are powered by American GE 404 and GE 414 jet engines. USA has been delaying delivery of the GE 404 and the contract to produce the GE 414 in India has also not been signed yet. All this at a time when Indian Air Force fighter fleet is in dire need of new fighter jets due to the old fighters retiring. IAF has a sanctioned strength of 42.5 fighter jet squadrons in order to take on both China and Pakistan at the same time (as per official policy). But IAF has fallen to 31 active fighter squadrons right now. And almost half the remaining squadrons are slated for retirement in the next 10 years. And at this time, the only hope of IAF are the four Indian jet programs I mentioned. And all four are at the mercy of Uncle Sam and his GE engines.

This is making the government of India reconsider the decision that it took in 2008: The decision to stop the Kaveri engine program for fighter jets.

All this is happening as the Kaveri Derivative Engine (a dry, non afterburning variant of the Kaveri is currently undergoing flight tests on a flying testbed). This engine is meant to power the Ghatak stealth UCAV of India.

The problem in the afterburner section of the Kaveri engine back when the program was shut down was flow instability and screech. These have recently been solved by the GTRE. Additionally, DMRL has recently achieved good progress in the Technology of multilayer Thermal Barrier Coatings that can make the Kaveri engine hit some of its performance figures.

If the Indian government decided to fund a family of Indian jet fighter engines today, we'll have an 4th generation Indian jet engine certified for flight ops within 10 years. That is still 10 years of dependency on Uncle Sam, but still better than nothing.

Now, the Russian offers have another angle. Su 35 will never be accepted, the IAF is looking for 120-odd medium class jets. Su 35 is Heavy class, same as Su 30 MKI that we already fly. Makes exactly zero sense to go for the Su35.

The big one is Su 57. India's own stealth jet, the ADA AMCA, is hostage to American pressures. And its late. Su 57 is the only stealth jet India can buy as a stop gap. The real threat is from PLAAF fielding stealthy J20 and J35 against us. Pakistan is also slated to get J35 soon, but that threat is still manageable without relying on Su 57. But the Chinese threat is a different story. It will be almost impossible to fight the Chinese properly without a stealth jet of our own, be it the ADA AMCA or the Su57.

Three areas were they actually have enough to spare for an emergency order.

China has like 300 HQ-9 and 150 HQ-22 ADs.
Tehran is negotiating for two of three. But I don't see why they'll not ask for ADs.
It just isn't reported on. Or they really are that ret**ded.
We'll see if they can come to an agreement quickly enough before the rematch.

If a country like Nigeria was in their shoes, we'll def have started receiving the systems already.
Iran is a curious case.

This is an involved thought process.
Don't have the time to lay every single component out, but will give some sort of synopsis.

The US relies on air and naval power.
No one is thinking of conventionally invading China. That is not an objective.

For air and naval power, they'll need bases and superior manufacturing.
China has them beat on manufacturing supremacy.
On bases, they'll have to be close to China.
Look up Pacific island chains. It's this concept in military strategy of a ring of island chains that the US has to control to have a pincer around China to be capable of hurting China.

As with the Gulf bases and Iran; the US so-called unsinkable carriers are Japan, South Korea, and to some degree Philippines.
Thailand, Malaysia, India, and a few others maybe may contribute to the war effort.
This is where it gets tricky because WW2 and the cold war is over.

For every 1 million casualty in China, at least 3 million plus will be eliminated in those vassals.

I don't see China pushing further into the Western Hemisphere unless the US collapses under its own weight.

But this is the point where all of China's innate brutality and manufacturing supremacy will have the most devastating effect.
Think about what's happening in Ukraine currently. China will send waves after waves, non-stop of incendiaries, until it achieves its war goals.
The US will seek to blunt the attack but China will keep at it and systematically degrade the US militarily because it will simply make more stuff that go kaboom.

That is why I said it'll be a mauling.
It'll be the Dragon just drowning continental US in unrelenting fire.
A malaise the US has never experienced.
The Western seaboard will be decimated. Panama canal destroyed. Population centers in eastern seaboard cities will become kill zones.

Will China suffer huge casualties in a total war? Yes.
But at the point where it's lost 100m people, every Asian country that is a US vassal today would have either capitulated or be destroyed.
The US itself will bear the brunt during the war. No more destroying some other region, and decimating that region's population and industrial capacity while paying little price. Russia, Iran, the Koreas, even Taiwan. All the provocations aim to get China to stumble. But Beijing is not biting. The export controls and restrictions are also to slow China's military modernization.

China is currently building a military command center in Beijing that is 10 times bigger than the Pentagon.
They're not doing that to seize Taiwan or because of Japan.
The CCP don set date for the US. When the time comes they'll either accept a diminished role or be made to.

A multipolar world is the diplomatic compromise. But China knows that after 2500 years at the top, old habits die hard.
So it is preparing for what it considers an inevitability.

Thank you! I have never seen any of them criticize USA or Israel on this thread but what about us? We don't praise Iran's theocracy and we criticize them daily. We have placed Lord Putin on trial for treason. Our major concern is what happens at the international scene and right now, they're the lesser evil.
