ALWAYS go with everything necessary. Is your certificate too heavy to carry?
There is a checklist of what you should bring. Better to have everything from SSCE to the highest degree/certification RELEVANT. CV Motivation letter Passport photo (2 at least) Of course your intl passport Admission/enrolment letter Proof of fund Health insurance (not compulsory) Exact amount of visa fee
Etc All in at least 2 copies and attached with clips 🖇 not stapler.
Find the student checklist doc if not in Nigeria embassy, find it in UAE Germany embassy.
Please should the motivation letter be hand-written or computer typed? |

Private University might be a better option then after the first year you can switch back to public universities. If I may ask which day precisely on February do you book your appointment! Ohh thanks , I applied on the 15th of February |

stripes16: My husband applied for Student's visa appointment since February 2022, He got a date for 1st of June but no admission. We dont know what to do at this point. The admission he got last year had no option for deferral. We have applied to several schools for Winter session but no response yet. If he cancels the appointment and reschedules we dont know how long it will take to get another date. Is there a University in Germany that is fast with admissions process? Any ideas please Please I’m also in this situation although my AD is on the 2nd but I currently don’t have any free tuition admission yet. Have you been able to secure an admission yet? |

As in ehh, not one Guys go with an I.D card And I would suggest you start with the last section with 3 questions then you move down to the section with 5 questions then the section with 10 questions then you go to the first section with 16 questions then answer the last section with 16 questions (the passage own)
With this way you should be able to save time for it all

In general cost of living is usually same except for rent and semester ticket. NRW isn't that affordable when it comes to accommodation and semester ticket. The good news is what you loose in accommodation you gain from touring the entire state.
You can't compare NRW to places like Schleswig-Holstein (kiel to be precise). the semester ticket in kiel is 115( for FH-kiel) and u can get a 2 person WG for 170euros pro monate (last i paid in kiel was 194euros ). be guided there are more expensive ones. u can switch if u re on a low budget after some months.
There are little or no professional jobs in lippstadt/Paderborn and most require good german skills. NRW is the biggest state in Germany. Most people speak good german in the west. there is a local airport there too.
You will be fine, there are student jobs to pull you through during the course of studying.
Thanks alot |

X36DD: Okay so I just had the sweetest Interview ever.
I was interviewed by the visa officer in room 4. A black really nice guy!
So I got to the embassy at 5:40am waited until 6:30am before Paulinus came. As soon as he came you’d know he’s the one immediately. His opening line was “it seems this people are not ready to stand on the cue. On the cue was a guy going to the same school as I am, Bachelor’s. So we got acquainted and started reviewing interview questions including the mayor of our town and population of my city. This two guys came from no where and said they were previously on the queue since 4am so they must be first. (There’s no first anywhere so just enjoy). Until one forgot his appointment print out and had to go reprint.
Paulinusattended to short stay visa first then us. The man be wan show himself for my side when he asked for certificate I placed my transcripts instead. He said i should remove it, later came again and asked why have I not put my university information, does he want me to send me to the back of the line? I just Jejely put it back. (I was just praying).
I cleared him, kept my phone with the security guys and entered. Followed the green line to the waiting room. I just sat down and was requestioning all the visa questions in my head.
I won’t lie to you I was pressured, really pressured and when I was ushered into room 4, I could barely hear the guy through the glass and kept asking him to repeat everything until he probably noticed my pressured self and smiled at me. I felt really calm and took a deep breathe.
Now he looked at my application form and I had accidentally wrote my city instead of my state and he nicely asked me to correct it. Gave me the form to sign for incomplete transfer amount. (I partly funded). We know some people would like to help but please let’s apply wisdom. I asked a question about what fintiba documents to submit Transfer documents or opening confirmation and someone said opening confirmation. Please and please if you are not sure don’t answer because thankfully if not I had a nice VO, He painstakingly showed explained and went to bring a transfer Information document to show me what it looks like. Gave me a form and Instructed i submitted at the gate(paulinus) before 10am.
Why checking my documents he asked me what school my name course? I told him Industrial Engineering, he asked what about it he Maintenance and operation attached I said yeah there are types of industrial engineering. (production) and maintenance and operation. Explained what the later is.
Interview proper. Do you speak german? Ans i am currently learning A1, he said wrong and repeated. Ans: No. Why this course? Language of instruction? Do I know anyone in Germany? Do you have any relatives? Plans after study? What school? Why germany? Why not Nigeria? Why not English speaking countries? What do I know about Germany? He cut me off and asked why I didn’t complete my education at 400L as I seem to be a very intelligent person. Asked if I have any questions Said he enjoyed our interview and I said the same. I forgot my passport and he called me back. And reminded me to deposit the transfer documents at the gate. Sharply printed and gave to paulinus Spent 4K printing and photocopying
He was also particular about the category I booked. Bro reply your mail, I sent a DM already |

What do you want to know?
it's not a big city. But the state which Lippstadt lives in is one of the best state to study in. the semester ticket can take you round the whole state plus upto cities like kassel and hannover.
Okay, but hope the cost of living isn't expensive and ,accessibility to things isn't that difficult and lastly hope it isn't a core German speaking city . Thank you |

This is for you. It's an experience of pompido in kiel.
There are 2 tertiary institutions in Kiel namely Christian Albrechts University and Fachhocschule Kiel (University of Applied Sciences) and both have great quality of education. CAU is the more recognized and highly rated of the 2 (Top 30 in Germany) wink but it is research based, so if this is your forte then by all means. If you are more practically oriented, IT systems development/business management and co that would grill you in readiness for the professional working life, then FH it is. This of course is based on perspective and of course do a proper research about your course of choice and its course contents especially (There can be serious K-Leg if you do the naija style of following the better named courses as them fit shock you when you enter grin).
Both schools are linked and so FH students have access to facilities at CAU like the Library, sports center, fitness center.etc. There is also the semester tickets that cover the whole of Kiel (train, ferries, buses). Only difference is that CAU students get a rebate on the direct bus to Hamburg airport (7euros instead of about 15euros and 12euros for the round trip). FH students have to pay the full charge but that is nothing to worry about because the airport is not a frequent trip and there are alternative ways of going on long trips for really cheap prices.
Housing is kind of reasonable here though it could easily become a nightmare (as moi experienced). The studentenwerk handle student accommodation for both schools and there are cheap to mid-priced rooms available (availability is higher in the summer as there are less applicants and intakes in both universities). Early application is usually the best thing to do but there are also other options that would suffice till one finds right footing.
Working as a student here is just like any city in Germany, available but conditional. Ability to speak the language even if it is the pidgin version (like Williamso would call his) would make things a bit easier. Another thing is that everyone needs to realize that you have to bear your cross and so do your own research, ask questions and talk to people about what you need. For example, when we got to Kiel, we were played all the work stuffs and what we needed to do to start engaging (mostly meant that we would wait a few months). The funny thing is that when men started digging, stuffs that even those we met here didn't know about were available and now they kind of say we came and raised the ginger level. Hustle is usually at its peak in the summer months (In Kiel, the Kieler Woche is it for men ooo, we die well )
Yes, you have to worry about your next renewal as Kiel only gives a year's permit but still egal as you will learn....... (open ended tins)
Abeg bring your food oo,as much as you can carry so you get to ease yourself into the bread/potatoes eating mentality here and of course save yourself some cents by eating in. There are afro-asian stores here so noodles, titus, kote, croaker fishes are available. same with palm oil, plantain, yams et al.
There is a strong Nigerian community here starting with the Nigerian Students' Association to the Nigerians in Kiel Association (them dey host very bad party every December), so you are sure to get all the help you need right from naija.
# For more information about the city, contact pompido, aibee01, topeajis and willy2000.
Bro can you help give a quick one about Lippstadt also |
