When we say that Enugu belongs to Ndiigbo, we mean to say that Enugu belongs to Igbos of Enugu origin( the Amechi, Nike and Ugwuaji people) and because these people are Igbos, the rest of Igbo nation can take pride in Enugu.

When Ndiigbo say that PH belongs to Ndiigbo, we mean to say that Ph belongs to Igbos of PH origin, who in this case are Ikwerres, and through them, the rest of Igbo nation can take pride in PH.

Why some people fail to understand this simple concept is still surprising to me.

No Igbo man would give up his hometown to claim anothers hometown, no Igboman would want to be buried any other place other than his hometown, no matter how remote his hometown might be.

But we ikwerres are not igbo, so hw wil ur igbo brodas take pride in port harcourt?

I'm of the opinion that the Ikwerre ARE NOT Igbos.

Of course, i dont have any physical or material evidence to point to.

But looking at the relations between them and considering how agressive Igbo expansion is, its safe to say dat d ikwerre were originally a non-Igbo speaking tribe assimilated through interactions and inter-marriage.

Secondly, d nature of the Ikwerre is distinct from Igbos. They lack moral fibre, are spineless, and downright lazy. Which explains why the Igbos assimilated them with ease leaving no record whatsoever of their original language.

The reason why they chose to separate themselves is because they are still bitter over the loss of their original identity. Deep down they know they are nothing like Igbos and so are afraid of Igbo domination.

Tanks man. But ikwerre language has nt bin completely eradicated.

Am an ikwerre boy from rivers state as far as am concerned am not an igbo man and i'll never be, same to my children and even to my 10th generation. The igbo's should get this into their head and wrap it well, we a'int part of you guys what is hard there to understand. K, fine we were once with you guys but things went south(biafra war) and we gained our independence,chased, disowned, and severed ties with you guys so let us be. RUMUJI—BUILT over a century ago, it is the
oldest storey-building standing at
Mgbuomodu, Rumuji community, Emohua
Local Government Area, Rivers State.

It is also believed to be the oldest of its
kind in Ikwerreland (Ikwerre one of the various ethnic group in the niger delta region, and also the most populated in rivers state.) Some people are of
the view that it should be the oldest of
such structures in the state.

They said it is older than every man in the
whole town, including the oldest man in
the town, Mr. Amadi, said to be 100 years
old.
The people of Rumuji have continually
eulogized the effort of Chief Aite Igwe,
who was said to have built the first
upstairs in Ikwerre.
They said he, Igwe, having worked with the
first breed of Westerners that came to the
area, was able to utilize his wealth to
enrich the history of his people, which
many of his kind could not.

In the olden days, houses were built
according to the social class a person
belongs.
But the Orho elu (storey building) built by
the late Igwe added another dimension to
the types of houses known then. It is the
first of its kind.

Finland yesterday deported more than 100
Nigerians who have sought asylum in the
European country.
The deportees, some of whom have stayed
in Finland for over one year arrived the
cargo terminal of the Murtala Muhammed
International Airport (MMIA), Lagos at 7am
yesterday with a cargo airline called,
Privilege Gourment. They included children,
women and some with their immediate
family.
One of the deportees, Mr Isaac Ejiofor, told
journalists that the affected Nigerians had
no criminal records in Finland, wondering
why they should be deported after spending
over one year in the asylum camp.
Ejiofor who explained that he was initially in
Greece, said he went to Finland to seek
asylum so that he could get documents that
would enable him work in the country.
He alleged that the Finland authorities only
picked up and deported Nigerians where
they were found among other African
nationals.
When asked if the Nigerian Embassy at
Finland was aware of their plight, Ejiofor
said the embassy was aware but refused to
come to their aid after paying 1,500 euro to
the embassy officials in Finland.
He said, “The policeman asked me what I
want since I do not have any criminal
record to warrant my deportation.
“I said I wanted to work and live a normal
life in Finland, so he (policeman) told me to
seek asylum and I did that.
“I was taken to the asylum camp and was
there for about more than a year processing
my documents that will permit me to work.”
Another deportee, who only gave his name
as Jackson, said the Nigerian Embassy
officials in Finland must have colluded with
some Finland Immigration authorities to
extort money from asylum seekers in the
camp.
He said that the embassy officials, however,
promise to assist them to get working
permit from the Finland authority.
A female deportee simply called Esther, said
that she and her husband has been in
Finland over 14 years, but was surprised
that they were deported without committing
an offence.
She said that she was deported along with
her seven year-old daughter and husband
without any compensation.
She said that other Africans in the camp
were given an opportunity to stay and work
in Finland, but that the Finland authority
were hostile to Nigerians.
She appealed to the Federal Government to
come to their aid, particularly Nigerians in
Finland and other Europe nations.
She said that most of the Nigerians at the
asylum camp in Finland came from other
European countries like Greece, Denmark,
Sweden and Norway to seek asylum to be
able to get working documents.

South Africa’s Supreme Court of Appeal will on Wednesday,
November 26 hear the appeal of the convicted leader of the
Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND),
Henry Okah, regarding the jurisdiction of a South African
court to try him in the first place.
According to Channels Television, Okah was convicted of a
13-count charge of terrorism, related to the bombings at
the Eagles Square in Abuja as well as another in Warri,
which left a number of casualties in 2010.

Judge Neels Claasen of the South Gauteng High Court
sentenced him to 24 years in prison early last year.
In November of the same year, he failed in his bid to appeal
against the merits of the case but was granted leave to
appeal against certain aspects of the case.
The three-point application sought leave to appeal against
the jurisdiction of the court to hear counts 1-12, duplication
of charges with regard to counts three to eight as well as
his conviction on count 13 regarding his allegedly
threatening to engage in terrorist activity.
Judge Neels Claassen granted leave to the applicant for the
first and last points but denied leave to appeal the aspect of
duplication of charges.
