I actually thought you will claim owning Murano in particular without having issues with it, pls get Murano and come back to drop your review.

Hopefully, you will live to tell the story cheesy

The main things don't happen on nairaland threads but in real life.i don't like hearsays and all these I know someone who uses something.you might just have read my mind.

Like I always say, there is nothing made by man that does not have its flaws.lets see how far this adventure goes

@Alexgray : my own experience was with Nissan Quest..I bought for my mum...instead of buying sinenna then for 2.5, I bought the quest for 1.8...a move I keep regretting..first it's started Entering "SLIP" move..once in that mode..it can't move..then a lot of sensor issues..Geez..My mum did not enjoy that car for one day..it was from one mechanic to another..every day I got calls from her introducing me to new mechanic that will do it once and for all.they scan the car tire..dem chop me dry...after all the stress and resources wasted...we sold it for 800k.. added money and bought a 2002 Sienna....since then..even God Rested..cos dem turn fixing of car to prayer point.. grin cheesy

I have not personally used the Nissan quest,I don't fancy mini vans, but one thing I can confirm to you is that u bought a faulty Nissan quest.same thing would have occured if you also bought a faulty Toyota sienna.i once had a client in ikoyi back then whose wife never joked with her 2005 Nissan quest which she used for work and picking up her kids.most cars from 2006 hardly develop mechanical issues but electrical issues.most people don't know when to invite a diagnostic expert or an automotive electrician.everytime,mechanic.most mechanics hardly attend refresher courses or seek more knowledge.u can't use the knowledge of fixing Peugeot 504 with a Peugeot 508.

Baba u like grammar.....has Nissan Murano not been sold on this forum for 800k with one tukunbo gear before?? We nor lie naaa.

I am not privy to any Nissan Murano sold on this forum for 800k with tokunbo gear. The simple fact that a faulty Murano was sold for 800k does not mean all muranos shld be sold for 800k even if it is in top form.
Kindly point me to any Murano you find for 800k, stating the exact issues it has,and I would gladly buy and use to show that Nissan Murano ,provided it's in good condition is a reliable car like any other Japanese brand.

Sold it after I got the Infiniti QX56.There was no reason to keep 2 full size SUVs.

Have u used a Nissan Murano before? I don't mean if u have driven one before.i mean have u actually owned and maintained a Nissan Murano before?
How many Nissan Murano have u seen to be butchered?

Spare the details about u knowing someone who has used or heard from someone.im talking 1st hand experience.

but why are others' transmission not as problematic as that of Murano?

Maintenance culture
Fake lubricants
Unqualified mechanics
There is nothing special in a CVT,that is to someone who understands how it truly works and knows what he/she is doing.toyota and Honda also have cars fitted with CVT.
The Toyota 2az engine is prone to oil shortening and oil pump failure after 100k miles, this is a factory defect but people still buy.
Toyota 13 pin and 22 pin transmission is very expensive cos of it being delicate.any use of the wrong lubricant would cause a deep hole in one's pocket, but people still buy.once a Murano is in top condition, and maintenance culture is followed properly, there is virtually nothing to worry about.

no one is complaining about Nissan vehicles, na Murano in particular we dey talk.

There is nothing in a Murano that u won't find in a Pathfinder,Xterra,quest,fx35 or ex 35 other than the engine, same applies to Infiniti from 05 and above.

Don't misunderstand my post,"some people" not all people.its also funny that when a friend has issues with his xc90,I do put a call to u for recommendations of what to replace and you have always sent numbers of reliable sellers especially when he needed the alternator and fuel pump assembly replaced.some come to your page and still ask till date if. Volvo parts are a available in the market.
Car Talk / Re: Should Road Worthiness Certificate Be Applicable To Private Car Owners by Alexgray(m): 1:01am On Mar 21
Road worthiness is required for all commercial vehicles and for private vehicles more than 5 years from date of manufacture.its valid for commercial vehicles for 6 months while it's 1 year validity for private vehicles that are more than 5 years old.
So if you buy a 2023 vehicle,u don't need road worthiness until after 2027 if u are still with same car.
Autos / Re: Sold by Alexgray(m): 12:56am On Mar 21
Anytime I see people make false comments about Nissan products or the Murano especially,I just laugh.i am presently on my 5th Nissan product,a 2007 Infiniti QX56 after I sold my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder,my profile would lend credence to that.anyrhing made by man must have its flaws,no man is perfect. Not everyone would be interested in Toyota and Honda.valarinz deals with Volvo, same Volvo some people avoid like plague.i have a colleague cruising his Infiniti FX35,it's more than 2 years and no irregular issues other than regular servicing and the normal wear and tear.just as I always say,u can't come to my house and not find a Nissan SUV,there would always be one.i am convinced that majority who give negative reviews about Nissan products maybe bought the wrong nissan, never actually owned one or are sharing what they heard from some of their friends, colleagues or engineers that find a Murano too complex for their expertise.always aim to buy a car in the best condition and u wld have no regrets.go to the north,u see them enjoying their opel, Peugeot, Honda and their likes.how many Nigerians know what they are missing by not getting a Subaru product? Very strong and reliable products.but that would be a discussion for another day.lets stick to the Nissan issue for now.till then, happy sales.

Reading through the ad and seeing the pictures,I personally believe when a car is resprayed, the seller might be hiding a previous accident, but I can see that this particular car paint has faded and op has tried his/her best with full disclosure.interior seems neat,I'll follow this thread to see the turnout of the paint job.

Dollar has come down to 1.4k. By next week it would be 1.2k and by end of April 800. I hope you ride on the old story about dollar hike and sell this car for over 300% its value. If not you may end up selling it for 800k because that’s the true value.

Kindly tag me when u see anyone for 800k or even 1m.i would appreciate it a lot.

Car Talk / Re: 2008 Nissan Teena Engine Issues( Nissan Mechanic Needed In Lagos) by Alexgray(m): 1:05am On Jul 22, 2023
1.Nissan is not a vehicle that needs a specialist. It's a straightforward regular japanese vehicle.

2.I have never in my years of experience with vehicles heard that the solution to overheating is engine replacement. If you don't diagnose, detect and solve the issue of overheating, even if Nissan sends you a brand new engine from their factory, you will still be back to the same overheating issue.

3.If you can state in details the problem, when it started, how it started and for how long you have had your car, you would be pointed in the right direction. Do note, details, no matter how little would save you time, money and stress.

Really? Does it work?

How possible is it that the automatic transmission in a small size sedan with at most 2.0l engine can work properly in a crossover with 4wd and a 3.5l v6 engine? Speed, displacement, torque and d rest have to be considered na. Its not rocket science. Haba, 1 horse can never successfully pull a cart meant to be pulled by 5 horses. It will definitely collapse before taking off.
Your 12yrs old murano was bought tokunbo i guess, and when it got to Nigeria, it was driving like a brand new car right? So think about it. The average new car gets 3 years warranty or 100,000km whichever comes 1st.so your Murano did more than
9 years before getting to you. This shld tell you proper maintenance is key.

Bro., can you share contact of any good Nissan engineer. I bought a 2008 altima recently and I have been scared to take it to the mechanic for servicing... I live in Ojo area

Nissan is not a specialist vehicle. Any certified engineer who knows what he/she is doing can find his way around the nissan. Its a Japanese model.
As for your 2008 altima, you wld need a good brand of 5w30 engine oil, with a good oil filter. If your transmission oil is dirty, you'll need the nissan NS2 transmission fluid(i hear its scarce) or you can look for the original Aisin CFex below. Take note.. "Using any other fluids apart from nissan ns2 or its equivalent would damage the transmission" and dats not a joke. I have one guy around idimu area i can recommend to you. Send a msg. Number is on my profile

what about Nissan Quest Sir
Personally, i have not used the nissan quest. Depending on the year, most cars share same engine and transmission. Just different exterior looks and d rest. Read more about any car you intend to buy or use. Wikipedia would give u a simple breakdown of cars sharing same engine, gear and chassis with the nissan quest of whichever year you want.

Danke! very much, were can i buy this oil? So it must be transmission fault then

The hardest part of vehicle repair is diagnosis. Once you are very sure of where the fault is from, fixing is the easiest. Be sure it is transmission fault before you buy a replacement. And if truly it is transmission, find out what went wrong before replacement. "If you pump a flat tyre without finding the leak, u wld still end up with another flat tyre"

very nicely put, i agree, i bought a Murano 2010 it's been having movement problems; one mechanic adviced me to convert the gearbox with a nissan Altima gearbox, another i should just change the injector mouth. I don't know what da hell to do. I have another car but i like to drive the Murano the other one runs on too much petrol.

Avoid those 2 mechanics. Seek someone who knows what he is doing. Nothing concerns transmission issue with injector mouth. If your transmission is bad, have it replaced and use the recommended nissan NS2. I believe its scarce, but u can also use this one as replacement. Provided you get a good replacement transmission and original cvt oil.

Since he got it, his 06 primera is parked at home while he is enjoying d micra. This life no hard at all. I'll contact u if any one shows up soon

Im moving to my 5th nissan. An infiniti QX56.from the 1991 nissan pathfinder se v6 manual 4wd,to 1996 pathfinder, to 2000 pathfinder, to 2003 pathfinder, now im on the 2005 nissan pathfinder. Im selling not because i have any issues but cos there is no reason to keep 2 full size suv.

From almera, to sentra to primera, to murano and pathfinder, there is no car maker withour a cvt. Even Toyota and honda cvts flood the market and highways.

Every car made by man has it flaws, but once u get the wrong car, u wld think the car is the problem. I have used opel, Mitsubishi, Subaru and the rest but there is never a time u wont find a nissan with me. Most especially the nissan pathfinder. Serves well, very reliable and i havent regretted since.

When you want a car, try find out from those who have truly owned and used the car not from those who feed you with beer parlor talks and lies. Most people with a pathfinder hardly sell it cos of it being very rugged.

Get a good nissan, maintain as u ought to and ull be fine. Simple as ABC
