I hope the funds will be channelled to the proper development of Nigerian football.

NB: Morocco should replace Benin in the list of the Round of 16 teams.

At Entebbe. You were so brave.

Did you know that Binyamin Netanyanhu was part of the Israeli special forces that stormed Entebbe airport in the 1970's to free Israeli prisoners held hostage there. He was apparently shot, I think in the shoulder.
It wasn't Benjamin but his brother, Yonathan. He was the commander of the ground troops. He was Killed In Action at Entebbe on that day.

The Algerians did the needful- scored a lone goal and perfected every trick in the book to protect their lead & frustrate the Senegalese.

When they go FIFA Confederations Cup , them go dey fall hand bad bad....

Them no dey fit do those their dirty tricks when they play against South American or European opposition.

Mahrez may get the CAF footballer of the Year Awards.
The winner of the 2021 Afcon will represent CAF at the Confederations cup.

The Senegalese team flattered to deceive. Man-for-man, the Senegalese team is better than the Algerian team but organisation and collective effort will always triumph over individualism. These qualities the Algerian team had in this tournament.

The Senegalese had better watch out for the counter-attacks of the Algerians. Their precise passing and proper utilisation of space could be Senegal's undoing.

Specialbaby:
As an introvert, I fear I will end up single for life and it scares me. A lot actually!!! I seldom/don''t go out hence meeting a guy I like has been difficult. My life revolves around going to classes, church then straight back to my hostel. some of my Coursemate don't even know me. I am just tired and confused. I am always in a hurry to leave any social gathering..

Really, I am not enjoying this introvert lifestyle a bit and I blame my upbringing. I don't know what to do as I am just too shy for my liking.
I guess it feels like the whole world is having fun without you
Please do not despair. You have to learn to be comfortable in your skin. Don't be pressured. Look within to find your happiness and be diligent in your studies. You'll find out later that there's more to you than you know now. Give yourself time. All the best.

If the people at the glass house is giving Rohr the much needed support for him to succeed, why don't we give him time. He has been able to assemble young and talented players in the team. Allow him to work with them. Any coach that comes onboard now, will drop most of these players, then we will start all over again.
Rohr is not suited for Nigerian football. We don't have to wait for the bottom to fall out before we do the needful. Nigerian football is bigger than Gernot Rohr.
SportsRe: Rohr Pose For Picture With His Medal Along With Kanu by alibiguy: 11:32am On Jul 18, 2019
HabuD:
We nigerians get too sentimental about issues. Point is this coach was woeful. The team was also woeful. This nigerian team had the potential and ought to win this afcon! I hope u know it wasnt the coach that won us this third place but the individual brilliance of the players. The coach was tactically and technically poor and made fatal decisions that cost us a lot. With a good coach this Nigerian team should have lifted the cup. The coach made same mistakes during the world cup against a very poor argentina side that any team cud have beaten silly and we ended up losing that game and crashing out. He did same mistake that cost us the afcon. Point is, this man should be sacked, and we should get better coaches that can manage our team. In football, and i dare say in life generally, You don't judge success by what you have achieved alone but by comparing what u have achieved with the potentials u had at ur disposal! Thats why a team like real madrid or barca can end up second in the league or even runners up in a champions league and still sack the coach, because they dont just look at what they have achieved as runners up, but also consider the potentials the team had, the way the team played (did they mostly struggle to scrap out wins or they played and won seamlessly and smoothly especially against relatively weaker opponents), targets etc.
So nobody should ever say these guys tried. They were woeful by my assessment, and truth is, if this error is not corrected now by sacking this coach and bringing in a sound coach that understands that the super eagles traditionally play exciting attacking football, and then scout for very zealous younger lads who can give their all for their nation, (not the bunch of lazy guys we have today as players), this nigerian team would be headed for more disaster. It happened against argentina and we failed to see it, and today we ended up celebrating mere third place. Its about to happen again, mark my words. How the mighty are fallen that we now get overjoyed by getting third place medal when we could achieve more. I bet in the next AFCON, when they crash out of the group stages, you guys will start celebrating that at least they made it to afcon in the first place. That's how standards fall quickly.
Aptly said. Rohr's not Nigeria's only problem. The NFF leadership is the bigger problem. Most of them are not Sports administrators by profession but government appointees. Hence the lack of professionalism in our football.

Bros, you are mincing words. Say it as it's.....
We don't have good players and good goal-keepers among the super Eagle players.
Let's shop for a better ones. Rohr can't tell me this is best Nigeria can produce in football .
Lastly, Rohr shld be replaced. Can you imagine? Substituting chikweze for Henry... That is a bad substitution.....
He kill our match during Madagascar and also during Algeria . There are a lot of technical lapses that the opponent capitalised on.....
Until we tell ourselves the truth....we Will keep making the same mistake.
Can you imagine? Ighalo is the best striker Nigeria can produce... Nonsense!
Well said. Rohr is technically and tactically inept.

From failing to qualify for two consecutive AFCONs to getting a bronze medal, it was good improvement.
We also failed to qualify for AFCON 2012. We returned to claim gold in 2013.
SportsRe: Rohr Pose For Picture With His Medal Along With Kanu by alibiguy: 8:16am On Jul 18, 2019
sirfemoz:
This man tried. After missing out from AFCON since 2013, he came and picked up bronze. To all that are not satisfied, remember how many coaches we have employed since 2013 and how far they got us.
Those coaches were not allowed to work. Sunday Oliseh from the first day he was employed was hounded by every person in the NFF, requesting that he submits his team list to a committee for vetting. Has Rohr ever done that? When he left, the then U23 coach was made to fill in, and he had only a few days to prosecute a 2-legged affair with Egypt for AFCON 2017. So how do you succeed when those who are supposed to be giving you the support are trying to tear you down? Nigeria does not need Rohr. We are Rohr's biggest achievement in coaching.

OGHENAOGIE:
colonial and neo colonial mentality..
.after 2014 world cup.to increase keshi salary from 5m was an issue today we pay this guy over 16m and yet he doesn't stay in Nigeria to watch our local league keshi had local boys in his team then...i think Nigerian coaches too should place value on themselves before taking national team jobs get lawyers to insert good clauses or refuse the job...simple...the way keshi was sack was an embarrassment for a man who won afcon and took Nigeria to second round...Hassan shehata of Egypt won afcon thrice but started having bad results Egypt allowed him to resign they didn't sack him...that's honor for man who did well for them
This was what Sunday Oliseh did and he remains the only local coach to have been paid his entitlements in full after his dismissal.

This is the time to consider the Nwakalis’
They fit in the best creative midfielders.
Your comment is spot on but you need a radical coach to engage in such an experiment. Rohr would never rock the boat.
