A 20-year-old man, Sani Iliyasu was drowned to death while bathing in a pond at Bachirawa, Darerawa in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State, the Public Relations Officer, Kano State Fire Service, Malam Saidu Mohammed said.

Mohammed who confirmed the incident in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Kano, said that the incident happened on Sunday when the deceased went to take his bath.

“We received a distress call today from one Malam Abdulrahman Adamu, at about 12: 45p.m., that Iliyasu’s body was found floating in a pond. “On receiving the information, we quickly sent our rescue team to the scene at about 01:00 p.m., where we recovered Iliyasu’s dead body.”

Mohammed said that the remains was handed over to the ward head of Zangon Barebari, Alhaji Ahmed Isa.

Some time ago, a 16-year-old boy, Shahid Lawal, also drowned while bathing in a pond at Bacharawa Ramin Kasa, Fagge Local Government Area in Kano on Sept. 5.

However, the cause of both incidents are still under investigation according to Mohammed.

The incident unfolded at Lost Lane just off Grafton Street before Naira Marley took to the stage to perform. According to reports, about 30 young men were seen running out of the premises in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The scene remained closed to the public and police in Dublin have since confirmed that a number of weapons have been seized and a man in his 20s arrested in connection with the incident.

An eye witness who was at the concert said, “an African artist ‘Naira Marley‘ was headlining a show at Lost Lane yesterday with some other upcoming acts. We came for the event which started around 10:30pm. People were waiting for the artist to perform when all of a sudden gardai came to the venue, drove everyone out and shut it down.

Nigerians have come out to openly condemn Timi Dakolo and his wife for simply sticking fame. Some notable persons are Omoni Oboli, Wale Jana, Kemi Olunloyo. The controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, revealed that Busola Dakolo may have had an affair with actor IK Ogbonna while married to singer Timi Dakolo.

She also noted that Nigerians accused him of deleting his wedding video from YouTube in which Biodun Fatoyinbo allegedly wedded him and his wife.

Despite all this, Timi Dakolo took to his Instagram page to put a rest to these rumours going round the internet. In his post, he poured out his heart and included his wedding video which he was accused of deleting off the internet. Check out what he said below:

Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo stepped down as the senior pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA, over alleged rape allegation by Timi Dakolo’s wife, Busola on Monday morning.

Pastor Fatoyinbo, in a post on his Instagram page on Monday morning, announced stepping down from the pulpit following the rape saga.

He wrote: “The past few days have been very sobering on me I have taken time to seek spiritual counsel form Christian leaders around the world who feel very concerned about the ongoing report in the media.

“I have solicited their guidance on actions I should take that is honoring to our Lord Jesus Christ and the work he has called me to do.

“Drawing from their counsel and that of the leadership of COZA and owing to my love for Lord’s work and the sacred honor of my calling I have decided to take a leave of absence from the pulpit of the church.”

This came as a result of the protest by Timi Dakulo’s wife, Busola asking Pastor Fatoyinbo to step down over the rape allegation on him.

Busola, the wife of popular singer, Timi Dakolo had alleged that the COZA founder forcefully raped her when she was young.

The mother-of-three narrated how Pastor Fatoyinbo allegedly forced his way into her when she was a teenager.
