Recalling that even before he left ACN in 2007 he had been offered the position of Deputy Governor, followed by that of Senator, and he had rejected both posts.“I do not seek power for myself but for service,” Jimi Agbaje God bless you for this |
mistudreh:Once koro comes out, I and thousands of others will rather not vote |
Segeggs:Hahaha me paid ? Lol just like Jimi. We don't get paid, we are our own persons and don't want elitism again in Lagos No to APC Lagos |
God bless Jimi Agbaje God bless all other aspirant. Anyone PDP present will get my vote in Lagos |
Lagos Governorship Aspirant in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has said he has no intention to leave the party whether or not he won the ticket at the primaries.Agbaje spoke at the Protea Hotel Ikeja, at the weekend during two interactive sessions with PDP youth and women’s leaders representing the 57 councils in the state.“Why will I leave PDP to go where?” he said. “To me as a politician, such a situation makes no sense. People who insinuate that if I don’t win the primaries I will leave the party forget my antecedents. I am not diverting supporters to anywhere.”According to the former Governorship Candidate of the Democratic Peoples’ Alliance (DPA), when in 2007 he contested and lost, he remained in that party and sustained the structure until it was deregistered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).“In 2007, I aspired on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). But it was clear that there would be no primaries, so I went to DPA. We did not win the elections. But if I was just party hungry, I would have jumped out into another party. But I remained within the party and sponsored several members who contested in the local government elections.”Recalling that even before he left ACN in 2007 he had been offered the position of Deputy Governor, followed by that of Senator, and he had rejected both posts.“I do not seek power for myself but for service,” he said.According to him, PDP represented the best platform for his aspiration, and he would remain there even if he did not make it.“PDP is my last bus stop. My back is to the wall. It is forward ever, backward never,” said the pharmacist who owns JayKay Pharmacy, a Lagos-based drug-manufacturing concern.According to him, although he and associates had assisted Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to win the 1999 and 2013 governorship elections, he never went cringing to beg for contracts.“I never went to Tinubu’s office, except once, and that was during the Ikeja Cantonment bomb blast,” he explained. “Even when he was giving out things, I did not take anything from him. I was the Treasurer for Afenifere, and we saw the way he was treating the Babas. I did not want him to compromise me like he did a lot of people who went cringing to him for posts or contracts.”Denying that he took contracts from the Lagos State Government, Agbaje pointed out: “I am not a government contractor. I do not supply drugs to Lagos State or even the Federal Government.”He also denied charges that he had been planted in PDP to act as a spoiler to the advantage of APC.“People say I am a mole; impossible. I have not benefitted from Tinubu. I even supported his campaign financially. If anything, he owes me, so I cannot be his mole. In fact, back in 2007 when some of us left the party because of his undemocratic tendencies, he told people that of all those who held grudges, only Jimi Agbaje had a justified grudge.”He also addressed fears amongst some PDP members that should he become Governor, he would favour only his old political loyalists. In his words: “Ignore such talks. I will not do Amosun to PDP. I will not be a sole administrator. And you can see that my structure is run by core PDP chieftains. My Director-General is Chief Rahman Owokoniran, a frontline PDP figure. You can also see with me here Leke Adefala –Legal Adviser of Lagos PDP, and Engineer Shiaba, a PDP chieftain who is our Director of Logistics.”Promising that PDP will approach the general elections as one family, he said: “There is no PDP aspirant that I don’t have a one-on-one relationship with. And none of you will hear me abuse or malign any aspirant. My failure to grant press interviews is part of the strategy because I don’t want to be goaded into saying unpleasant things about any aspirant.”According to him, PDP had a good chance of winning the 2015 governorship race in Lagos.“This race is winnable. And I am running to win,” he said. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/10/cant-mole-bola-tinubu-apc-jimi-agbaje/ |

EKITI State governor-elect, Mr Ayo Fayose, has cried out against moves by the outgoing government to secure a fresh N1 billion loan from First City Monument Bank barely four days to the end of its tenure. In a letter with reference number OGE/EK/ADM/ 094 dated October 10, 2014 and signed by the Chairman, Ekiti State Transition Committee, Chief Dipo Anisulowo, to the Managing Director, FCMB in Lagos, the Fayose team said it had it on good authority that the new loan was been sourced to pay the severance allowances of public office holders. This is just as the committee also raised the alarm over illegal transfer of over N856 million from SUBEB project account number 0065385894 with Access Bank Plc to another illegal account. The said money, it alleged, was the state’s counterpart contributions to the Federal Government Intervention Funds. “Please be informed that going by UBEC financial regulations, it is absolutely unethical to transfer any part of the fund that is available for SUBEB/UBEC project execution in the state without valid instruction. “This move will definitely wane down the reputation of the state as one of the most performing states in the federation,” the letter with reference number EKSUBEB/PS/400/41 read. The committee noted that granting loans to an administration which has less than four days to wind down was suspicious. “Our greatest concern regarding this transaction is that it would be deducted as first line deductions from October 2014 allocations when the incoming administration would have taken over the reins of governance in the state. “If, however, the first line deduction would not be practicable, the governor-elect, who as a critical stakeholder in the finances of the state as at the period the loan was being negotiated, and who was not part of the deal, would be expected to pay back the loan facility consonant with the agreement signed with the state government,” the letter further read. The committee stressed that if the appeal to the bank not to grant the loan was not heeded, the incoming government would not honour the deal. “Besides, we shall not hesitate to explore all administrative and legal means and processes to deal appropriately with the conduct of your bank in this regard,” the committee warned. Reacting to the development, the state Commissioner for Information, Mr Tayo Ekundayo, dismissed the allegations, saying it was one of the lies of the PDP to confuse the people. “I was not in any meeting where such a decision was taken to borrow any money to pay severance allowances of public office holders. It is one of the lies they are telling to confuse the people. “If we could not take loan to pay salary which is statutory, how can we take loan to pay severance allowances?” he said. http://www.tribune.com.ng/news/news-headlines/item/18600-fayemi-seeking-n1bn-loan-transfer-of-n856m-fayose-it-s-one-of-their-lies-to-confuse-people-govt |
deriod:Are you minding them If the election is free and fair, APC will not win in Lagos |

Fayemi's wife with stomach infrastructure
|
good !!!! More stomach infrastructure from APC
|
bigass:Yes Buhari is not a push over but the agreement between CPC aka North and APC aka SW/SS is that the north gets presidency and the SW gets deputy.. So the deputy is in tinubu's hands and his choice. Lets be watching as things unfold |
Tinubu will not allow such so forget it. |
Caseless:Stop typing trash here. The Ekiti people CANNOT BE BOUGHT WITH FOOD which is what Fayemi tried to do by giving them rice and meat. You think you can twist the truth here you lairs Unlike Osun people that went for Stomach infrastructure.
|
Keep lying to yourselves and gullible supporters |
luvinhubby:Hahaha I am just a passionate when I see wrong doing. I am was a die-hard fan for ACN but the resent evil and none ideological approach of this new APC makes no sense. All I see is disgruntled ex PDP member that want power back at all cost |
Here are the realities on ground and this is no propaganda like what the poster above me or Gbawe writes. In the SW people are tired of APC. Yes ACN was a good party which stood for an ideology that many bought into but Tinubu's quest for power has blinded him. He has attracted people like Atiki, Saraki, OBJ and co just to taste Federal power thus APC. In Ekiti just like Lagos, we have been faced with untold hardship and elitism. Unlike Lagos, Ekiti want human index development as well not just infrastructural development. Fayemi is not loved by the people. Prof Wole, we know your son as SA to APC Ogun state government so we don't expect the truth from your mouth. My advice for you is not to join politics and sell yourself just like your friends in crime (Falana and Oba Akitoye). |
mifavour:Please don't get me in the mood. I have sympathy for his family that could have built a school good enough for his son as well. Some are equal but some are more equal than the rest. When did the king of Dubai send his son to Nigeria to study |
Orisirisi, I think I saw Aresa and Oga Gbawe there ![]() |
