Alhaji, I'm not angry. I love my people. I care about my people. I think about what we've been through and that makes me much more interested in their affairs and well-being. I am a pan-africanist and believe that the solution to Africa's problems is a cultural revolution which would foster strong inter-ethnic friendships and relationships based on the shared love of being offsprings of Mother Africa (Bless her).

That being said, I'm not naive to the inter-ethnic problems that besiege the continent especially Nigeria where people from my ethnic group have been and still bear the major brunt of violence in the country. Though I'm not a tribalist, I'm very much an Igbo man FIRST before anything else.

I did not request that the northerners should vacate the east but if it will bring peace and peaceful co-habitation within the geographical fraud called Nigeria then, so be it  smiley.    No hard feelings, "Uche" Ciroma. No hard feelings! wink cheesy
i know you are a good person and only care for you people's welfare just like most igbo and others that are on this forum.

but, as i said earlier, it is some of the hausa thugs, ethnic ethnic mumu's that are doing the killing not majority of the muslims in the northerners.

the question you should be asking is that, " is there no police of credible military officers that are there to protect those that  are not involved with is silly war they are doing"

and the answer to you question is NO

now your next question should be is what is the FG or jonathan doing about it.

Hi guys,
This not meant to hit on any particular group. I wrote this stuff based on the tone of many of the threads in NL and I wanted to have a civil discussion about the way forward.

Even if this thread does not lead to an immediate physical change, I was hoping that it will make people to think more and see the concept of 9ja from a different ethnic perspective from their own and hence to gain some insight into the things that we bear in our hearts in our different tribes and are not bold enough to voice it out.

So, sorry again if anyone feels his own group wasn't well described.
why do you have to apologise, you have do nothing wrong here girl smiley

That's where I disagree with you. I don't want my people to be massacred unnecessarily any period there's an uprising, pogrom or conflict. Enough is enough. Why should we always bear the full brunt of violence in Nigeria - even if we aren't involved?  angry angry angry angry   I want them to be encouraged to resettle in the East - where they would feel most comfortable in this violence, blood and evil-ridden country called Nigeria. If it means your people in the East vacating the spaces they inhabitate for them then so be it. If Nigeria is becoming more of this then to everyone's tent o Israel.
why are you angry, i know how saddening it is to hear your people die but why vex like that

everybody should be allowed to live in nigeria without the fear of them been killed which i support

secondly, why would you vacate the northerners in the east because of the igbos from the north come undecided

has the yorubas vacated your people from lagos because some yorubas are coming undecided why do you let your emotion get to you like this undecided

The crises in jos and bauchi is perenial or should I say biannual , there is no year blood is not shed,I am not asking all ibos to pull out of the 2 states. But they can stop investing their and move to more peaceful terrain like cross river , enugu and benue.

When the northerner notice ibos are leaving and moving to more peaceful states , the will have to grow up.

Rather than ibos state in jos the should got to iraq if it is money they want.
so out of millions of igbos that are there they all should move back to the east huh

as i said earlier the people that do the killings are only thugs

makes me think when OPC were killing northerners in lagos, i did not run back to borno but instead i lived with my yoruba friend in ebuta-metta lagos mainland, and i did not fear anything because i know it just a handful of them that are doing the killings

What is all this about not having sympathy for our people in their hour of need? Unu abuzikwa ndiigbo? Hmmmmm, Onye aghana nwanne ya o. Onye aghana nwanne ya o. Onye aghana nwanne ya o. They're still our kith and kin. Its even paining me here to think of their sufferings.

Please let us not condemn our people for the choice of living in such troublesome areas afterall, we all want a better standard of living and if they find such there, they should by all means satisfy their urges afterall many of us are abroad for greener pastures and yet, we still face dangers here. This is not to say that we would leave them to their own fates as, they're still our people.

If we don't care about them, who would do so? Is it their tormentors or enemies? Guys, logical and not overtly emotional and negative contributions are needed here.[s] I'm of the view that Ohanaeze should draw-out a 5-7year plan to start the resettlement of our people back to the East. This should have been carried out during last decade (2001 -2010). Its just that Ohanaeze isn't quite organized and is bereft of ideas.[/s]

You will find an ibo in funtua and ask him why is his business is in funtua he will tell you that nigeria is his father land and he has a right to be any where but when crises arise he will be the first victim. Countless ibos lost their houses in maiduguri.
yes but what year was the last one huh

igbo yoruba are found everywhere from maiduguri to zamfara to enugu and anambra but there are thugs everywhere; tribal bigots using the name of our religion to kill cry cry

igbos or other southerners that are killed is uncalled for

I am a Pan-African. However, I do not support those who do not used their mind's which God blessed them with. Who goes into a war zone in order to make money? It is ludicrous I tell you.

My sympathy goes towards the Berom people. They are the ones who are truly suffering. My Igbo brethren in the North, they have themselves to blame. You do not go to a region where you are not wanted.

This has nothing to do with Pan-Africanism. I think you should learn what the term means. I see the unity of all African people from the Indian Ocean all the way to the Atlantic Ocean.
i should learn the meaning of pan-african huh what are u talking about

you are someone that wnts africa to unite as one and you do not envisage that there are still some bad eggs among every tribe in africa even igbo and yoruba

most northerners do not support it; that is clear by our leader need to do something fast before it gets out of hand

Ibos in the north can be very daft in their reasoning. Do you know a good number of the hotels, bakery , clinics and shop in jos are owned by ibos. Some have died and are presently being survived by grand children , they don't remember their home until crises period.

Some people don't have divestment or relocation in their dictionary.
And some even put their businesses in hot zones because of money.

I have gone through a lot of threads and have realised that as Nigerians, we harbour a lot of bitterness both within our ethnic groups and across ethnic groups.

Hausas: We feel privileged that we have been in the corridors of power but still baffled that our literacy level is still alarmingly low. We still have strife amongst ourselves although others don't know that but we stay together to be able to stand the challenges posed by the south. We hold on to our religion as it has evidently been out source of strength and has helped us to dominate in the country with assistance from our brothers all over the world.

My question now is: Since we all feel bad and insecure in one way or the other, how can we work together to diminish the difference between us and highlight or strengths so that we can move forward? What are your suggestions about how to placate those who feel aggrieved amongst us rather than diminishing how they feel? How can we work together to change the world perspective of us? The reason why I am asking this question is that I have noted the level of bitterness and prejudice in everyone posting something on this website but no one seems to think that this is really a big cog in our wheel of progress. Do we need a unity referendum like Southern Sudan?
is there igbo in those ones undecided

Please remove the paragraph headed by Niger Delta because “Niger Delta” does not exist in the context of your post.
Akhenaten:
The Igbos are not the reason for the Niger Delta suffering. I don't even see Niger Deltans saying such nonsense either. We do not control their oil fields. That is why I find that post about the Igbos dominating the Niger Delta as ludicrous and asinine. Name the person who order the destruction of Odi. Was it an Igbo man? Who had Ken Saro-Wiwa executed. Was it an Igbo man?

This entire piece reeks of tribalism. Especially as it pertains to Igbos.

Ola edo:
Explain.
you claim that the south-east were involved in throwing MKO to jail because i definatly know that the south west did not
Ola edo:
I think his point was that after MKO 'secured' Igbo vote he turned around and said he did not need the Igbo then also said we was going to the U.S. and other internation superpowers and reporting all of the 'corrupt northerners'. That is what led the two regions to team up annul the election and throw him in jail. So I've heard.
also when you talk of 2 regions throwing him in jail, was not abacha that did it not north or south-east

abacha never repersented us northerners because he also did not like hausa and wanted to break the unity between the northern ethnic groups smiley

How could someone who wants to be a president say that.It is obvious that this guy cannot campaign without threats. If what he is saying is that case, then why would it matter if the SS vote for GJ.It shouldn't bother him. It's statements like that that make him look desperate.

Atiku does not deserve to be our president, from his utterances lately, he has lost it. If he thinks he can rule Nigeria without the south, he should ve asked the late MKO what he said about the Igbos during the 1992/93 presidential elections.
